Objectives Tongue diagnosis is an important diagnostic method in traditional Eastern medicine, and it has a high potential to be used in the future healthcare because of easy, quick, and non-contact measuring features. Recently, research and development efforts on computerized tongue diagnosis systems (CTDS) have been active that led to the technical advancements in the field of photographing techniques, image extraction and classification algorithms. In this study, we analyzed the trends in the CTDS patents. Using the WIPS search engine (www.wipsglobal.com), quantitative and qualitative patent analyses were performed through Korea, China, Japan, U.S.A and Europe. Methods For a systematic search and data analysis, we defined patent categories based on the application area and technical details. By applying thus-obtained categorical key words, we obtained 360 relevant patents on photographing techniques, image extraction and classification algorithms for the purpose of diagnosis or security. Results As a result, companies related to image acquisition, medical imaging and mobile devices and research groups of universities in East Asia were major patent applicants. In all the five countries, the number of patents have been increasing since 1980. In particular, technology related to color correction and image segmentation were most actively patented categories, and expected to continue a high application rate.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the product characteristics of 'Songhwasulgi,' which combines different kinds of pine pollen flours and sugars with non-glutinous, rich flour. The results of sensory evaluation indicated that the larger amount of pine pollen flour was mixed with non-glutinous rice flour higher level of bitterness, softness, and feeling after-swallowing was obtained degree of chewiness was in relation to the lesser amount of pine pollen flour. With regard to color, a higher acceptance level was achieved as the lesser amount of pine pollen flour was incorporated with non-glutinous rice How. On the other hand, it was revealed that the category of adding a honey to $7\%$ of pine pollen flour was found to be the highest level of flavor and overall quality According to the results of texture evaluation, the degree of hardness, adhesiveness, and cohesiveness decreased as the larger amount of pine pollen flour was combined with non-glutinous rice flour. It was also found that the springiness of the texture tended to be low as more pine pollen flour was added. In addition, the degrees of gumminess and chewiness was inversely related to the amount of pine pollen flour With respect to a correlation between sensory evaluation and mechanical test, it was found that Songhwasulgi with higher acceptance level for color and flavor also obtained a higher level of hardness and overall quality.

In this paper, we present a novel system to categorize web image search results using emotional concepts and to browse the results more conveniently and easily. The proposed system can categorize search results into 8 emotional categories based on emotion vector, which obtained by color and pattern features. Here, we use Kobayashi’s emotional categories: {romantic, natural, casual, elegant, chic, classic, dandy and modern}. With search results for a given query, the proposed system can provide categorized images for each emotional category. With 1,000 Yahoo! search images, we compared the proposed method with Yahoo! image search engine in respect of satisfaction, efficiency, convenience and relevance with a user study. Our experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper proposes an efficient remote video evaluation system that is matched well with personalized characteristics of students using information filtering based on user profile. For making a question in forms of video, a key frame extraction method based on coordinate, size and color information is proposed. And Question-mating intervals are extracted using gray-level histogram difference and time window. Also, question-making method that combined category-based system with keyword-based system is used for efficient evaluation. Therefore, students can enhance their study achievement through both supplementing their inferior area and preserving their interest area.

The purpose of this study is to use data from studies of headdresses which might be helpful for creating new fashion styles. Headdresses in 2010 S/S-2015 S/S Paris haute couture collections were analyzed in the following categories: years, season, brand, type, color, material, and image. The types of headdresses were categorized as hat, hood, decorative or complex types. The hat type was elegant with a modern style, and coexisted with an exaggerated avant garde style. The hood type wrapped around the head with many examples having a distinctive sculpture on top of the knot. The decorative type varied dramatically in form and materials. The complex type was a blend of all the other types with the designer's individuality being outstanding. The characteristics of headdresses were revealed first, as an enlargement of the materials category, second, as an expression of dramatic forms, and third, as complete coordination of the creative fashion image. The headdresses illustrate the designer's creativity in producing a variety of images. Henceforth they will be important as fashion items and independent designs in fashion styling.

A social trend can change market trend because it influences on consumer's lifestyle. Therefore the trend has been considered as an important factor for planning and producing new items. If a new trend occurred, its impact on market needs to be examined. Recently, well-being became top global issue and it caused many changes on packaged food products. This study focuses on measuring the impact of well-being trend on package design. The range of products for this research is limited to packaged food product selling in discount stores because it is main category to show well-being trend. Generally, good package design generates impulsive buying at the point of purchase. Colors on packages are critical point for good product design and they are also reflecting social trend to meet their consumers' psychological desires. After gathering basic information from market research, several colors had been selected and classified. For providing specific evidences result from the trend, the role of four major colors have been compared and analyzed. Finally, questionnaire had been handed out to trendy consumers to reach consensus on well-being color.

Airbrushes are being utilized in various industries due to their practicality and ability to express a wide range of designs. Especially in the field of body painting, they have become an essential tool for artists. Airbrushes enable precise color application, shaping, and gradient expression, thereby reducing work time, which has led to their increasing use in the field of body painting. This study aims to present the latest design trends in airbrush body painting by analyzing the design composition, color planning, blending, and expression techniques, focusing on award-winning works in the airbrush-exclusive category of internationally recognized World Bodypainting Festivals. The results are as follows. Firstly, in terms of design composition, emphasis and balance principles are primarily used. The main image is emphasized at the center of the upper body, while a balanced composition with left-right symmetry is observed in the lower body. Secondly, color planning and blending primarily utilize contrasting colors to enhance visibility. Thirdly, all major award-winning works utilize stencil and gradient techniques to accurately depict shapes and add dimension. Based on these analyses, body painting designs were planned and executed using airbrushes. Through such artwork production, the artistic utilization of airbrush body painting is aimed to be popularized, contributing to domestic research in the field of airbrush body painting.

The Y generation born between 1981 and 1995 is the largest consumer group in the United States. This study is to provide an insight of understanding Y generation's decision factors of purchasing Jeans and the fit issues. This study investigated their purchasing decisions factors, including fit, cost, brand, color, and the media/internet influences. It is revealed that the Y generation might have access to the internet, but they still rely more on their peers and savvy skills to decide what they purchase. They preferred to shop from the land based retail stores rather than the internet. The fit was the most important factor of their purchasing decision, but less concerns of the brand. In this study, 87% of them chose "fit" as the reason to buy a pair of jeans. Fit problems were related to the price category. This study suggests apparel manufacturers should understand Y generation's fit issues in the global market.

Since the end of 1960s, an era of internationalization, Interculturalism has been reflected in intercultural plays which borrow concepts of foreign-cultural aesthetics for the performance and create a new stage language. Among many writers and performers, Oh, Tae-seok created his own unique aesthetic performances through experimental and avant-garde methodologies connected with various areas of art. His plays are worth studying since they suggest us a point of view which helps us to get out of the ordinary, fixed thought and try to see variety of reality. Therefore, our study categorized Oh, Tae-seok's play into four areas according to grotesquery interculturalism : Evil sprit, Abhorrence, Exaggeration and distort, and Heterogeneity. Based on this category, we analyzed plastic artistic characteristics of his plays' stage costume, for example, shapes, materials, and color, and tried to enhance the aesthetic value of his plays. We made a conclusion that the play showed grotesquery features in stage costume, which represented death, tragedy, evil sprit of human negligence, surprising and grotesquery abhorrence by deformity of the body, exaggeration and distortion, ridiculousness, and heterogeneity, the mixture of abnormality and unstableness. Our study could help produce adequate stage costume matching the features of the performance, and be the cornerstone of grotesquery aesthetic interculturalism study reflected in stage costume.

As there has recently been growing interest in Alternative Medicine, Oriental Medicals have been trying to incorporate Alternative Medicine into Oriental Medicine evolutionarily. The purpose of this study is to make a comparative study of the historical background and present condition, the view of life, the principle of therapeutics, and the various therapeutics in Alterative Medicine and Oriental Medicine from the viewpoint of Oriental Medicine. The conclusion of this study is; 1. Although Alternative Medicine has become influential mainly in the effort of finding a solution the limit of western medicine, the clinical effect of Alternative Medicine should be verified continuously. 2. Alternative Medicine includes all of the therapeutics such as Traditional Medicine, Naturopathy, Complementary Medicine and Selective Medicine whose characters are different from Western Medicine and Oriental Medicine can be regarded as a sort of Alternative Medicine. 3. The holistic, systematic view of life of Alternative Medicine, from which viewpoint human considered as a harmonious vital existence, is a sort of recurrence to the view of Hipporcrates. 4. From the viewpoint of Alternative Medicine, a disease is not partial but holistic disorder and is treated by utilizing natural products as a medicine based on the principle that pursues harmonious and balanced psychosomatic function. This principle of therapeutic is the same as Oriental Medicine is based on. 5. Alternative Medicine may be classified largely five category, (1) Eastern Therapy, (2) Manipulative Therapy, (3) Natural Therapy, (4) Active Therapy, (5) Therapy Involving External Powers. 6. Besides Alternative Medicine which is used in clinical treatment, Massage, Homeopathy, Bach Flower remedies, Meditation, and other Music Therapy and Color Therapy is relatively accordant with therapeutics in Oriental Medicine and should be more actively accepted in clinics and improved.
