  • We propose a color transfer method that used color contrast based templates to express the visual difference clearly between objects, while remaining the quality of the input image. Our algorithm employs colors of both the input image and template distributed on the $a^{\ast}b^{\ast}$chrominance plane of CIE $L^{\ast}a^{\ast}b^{\ast}$color space. The templates are made by considering the effect of color contrast and have the shape of either a line or a curve represented color distribution of the basic colors based gradation image. These tempates can be modeled on spline curves. We also generate simply new templates with the different basic colors by moving the control points of that curve. The color transfer method using the templates is done through a regressive analysis and color matching. We maintained color coherence of the input image by transforming similarly the color distribution of an input image to the one of templates.

  • This paper presents an approach to visual information based temporal indexing of video sequences. The objective of this work is the integration of an automatic face detection and a matching system for video indexing. The face detection is done using color information. The matching stage is based on the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) followed by the Minimax Probability Machine (MPM). Using PCA one feature vector is calculated for each face which is detected at the previous stage from the video sequence and MPM is applied to these feature vectors for matching with the training faces which are manually indexed after extracting from video sequences. The integration of the two stages gives good results. The rate of 86.3% correctly classified frames shows the efficiency of our system.

  • This study examines the development and practical application of digital cameras and shade matching in dental practice. Since their introduction to dentistry in the late 1990s, digital cameras have been widely used in various areas including diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education. Digital camera usage in tooth shade selection has emerged as an alternative to overcome the limitations of traditional visual methods. With the advancement of color science, various color systems from Munsell to CIELAB have been developed, and digital color models such as RGB, HSL, and HSV are being utilized as practical color analysis tools in dental settings. Color measurement using digital cameras offers advantages including non-contact assessment of the entire tooth surface and the ability to build permanent databases. Cross-polarizing photography techniques and color reference targets enable more accurate color evaluation, while RAW format image storage and new formats like HEIF allow for more precise shade expression and communication. These digital technological advancements are improving the accuracy and efficiency of color measurement and analysis in dental practice, which is expected to contribute to the enhancement of aesthetic dental treatment quality.

  • In this paper, a landmark based localization system using a Kinect sensor is proposed and evaluated with the implemented system for precise and autonomous navigation of low cost robots. The proposed localization method finds the positions of landmark on the image plane and the depth value using color and depth images. The coordinates transforms are defined using the depth value. Using coordinate transformation, the position in the image plane is transformed to the position in the body frame. The ranges between the landmarks and the Kinect sensor are the norm of the landmark positions in body frame. The Kinect sensor position is computed using the tri-lateral whose inputs are the ranges and the known landmark positions. In addition, a new matching method using the pin hole model is proposed to reduce the mismatch between depth and color images. Furthermore, a height error compensation method using the relationship between the body frame and real world coordinates is proposed to reduce the effect of wrong leveling. The error analysis are also given to find out the effect of focal length, principal point and depth value to the range. The experiments using 2D bar code with the implemented system show that the position with less than 3cm error is obtained in enclosed space($3,500mm{\times}3,000mm{\times}2,500mm$).

  • This paper brings out a neoteric frame of reference for visual semantic based 3d video search and retrieval applications. Newfangled 3D retrieval application spotlight on shape analysis like object matching, classification and retrieval not only sticking up entirely with video retrieval. In this ambit, we delve into 3D-CBVR (Content Based Video Retrieval) concept for the first time. For this purpose we intent to hitch on BOVW and Mapreduce in 3D framework. Here, we tried to coalesce shape, color and texture for feature extraction. For this purpose, we have used combination of geometric & topological features for shape and 3D co-occurrence matrix for color and texture. After thriving extraction of local descriptors, TB-PCT (Threshold Based- Predictive Clustering Tree) algorithm is used to generate visual codebook. Further, matching is performed using soft weighting scheme with L2 distance function. As a final step, retrieved results are ranked according to the Index value and produce results .In order to handle prodigious amount of data and Efficacious retrieval, we have incorporated HDFS in our Intellection. Using 3D video dataset, we fiture the performance of our proposed system which can pan out that the proposed work gives meticulous result and also reduce the time intricacy.

  • The purpose of this study is to present basic data for hair color work plans that can consistently produce hair color design products for designers through analysis of gradient techniques among hair color design techniques. The research method was to select 10 photos of women that appeared in mass media from 2022 to September 15, 2023, extract color chips and RGB values using the Eyedropper Tool in Adobe Photoshop CS6, and convert the RGB values of the color chips into Munsell Conversion ( The data was converted into HV/C values of version 12.1.13a). Based on the extracted data, the gradient hair colors of female pop stars were analyzed by displaying the data on a color scale. As a result, in the I.R.I color scheme image scale, the image of female pop stars was more hard than soft. In addition, it was confirmed that the focus was on static rather than dynamic. Color matching images according to hair color were extracted with adjectives such as noble, decent, elegant, and subtle. Three hairstyles were created using this theme.

  • This study offers data that can be used to direct the styles of black dresses by looking into the characteristics of coordination in black fashion, which is continuously appearing at modem. fashion collections with a unique aesthetic value and image. This study examined the characteristic of fashion coordination of black color: First, to look at the fashion image of black color, second, to look at the characteristic of black color coordination appearing in black fashion, and third, to look at the method of coordination appearing in black color. This study collected and selected 560 black pictures that showed the fashion collections from 2005 S/S until 2007 F/W. As for data analysis, the researcher made a content analysis by classifying the pictures by item, material, accessory, and a coordination method. The research results are as follows: First, the fashion image of black color was expressed as sexy feminine, modern chic, modern future, genderless, and avant-garde images. Second, the fashion coordination of black color has the characteristics of sexiness and dignity by the use of body exposure, concealment, and a subdued line that expresses a modern, minimal atmosphere. The mix & match of materials expressed the monotony of one color as refined beauty and the use of accessories appeared to bring the image into relief. Third, as for the coordination method, pants on skirts, pants on dresses, piece coordination of code matching, plus- one coordination through vivid colors and accessories, and cross-over coordination relying on shape, material, and sense were prominent.

  • This study investigated the use of YOLOv5 for defect detection in transparent adhesives, comparing two distinct training methods: one without preprocessing and another incorporating edge operator preprocessing. In the first approach, the original color images were labeled in various ways and trained without transformation. This method failed to distinguish between the original images with properly applied adhesive and those exhibiting adhesive application defects. An analysis of the factors contributing to the reduced learning performance was conducted using histogram comparison and template matching, with performance validated by maximum similarity measurements, quantified by the Intersection over Union values. Conversely, the preprocessing method involved transforming the original images using edge operators before training. The experiments confirmed that the Canny Edge Detection operator was particularly effective for detecting adhesive application defects and proved most suitable for real-time defect detection.
