Ultra-high-frequency radio-frequency identification (UHF RFID) is widely applied in different industries. The Frame Slotted ALOHA in EPC C1G2 suffers severe collisions that limit the efficiency of tag recognition. An efficient full-duplex anti-collision scheme is proposed to reduce the rate of collision by coordinating the transmitting process of CDMA UWB uplink and UHF downlink. The relevant mathematical models are built to analyze the performance of the proposed scheme. Through simulation, some important findings are gained. The maximum number of identified tags in one slot is g/e (g is the number of PN codes and e is Euler's constant) when the number of tags is equal to mg (m is the number of slots). Unlike the Frame Slotted ALOHA, even if the frame size is small and the number of tags is large, there aren't too many collisions if the number of PN codes is large enough. Our approach with 7-bit Gold codes, 15-bit Gold codes, or 31-bit Gold codes operates 1.4 times, 1.7 times, or 3 times faster than the CDMA Slotted ALOHA, respectively, and 14.5 times, 16.2 times, or 18.5 times faster than the EPC C1 G2 system, respectively. More than 2,000 tags can be processed within 300 ms in our approach.

Tag collection is one of the major concerns in radio frequency identification(RFID) system. All tags in RFID reader's transmission range send response message back to the reader in response to collection request message on the given rf channel. When multiple tags respond simultaneously, tag-collision may occur. Tag-collision problem is one of the most important issues in active RFID performance. To mitigate this problem, frame slotted ALOHA(FSA) anti-collision protocol is widely used in active RFID system. Several studies show that the maximum system efficiency of FSA anti-collision protocol is 36.8%. In this paper, we propose an efficient slotted CSMA/CA protocol to improve tag collection performance. We compare our protocol to the FSA anti-collision protocol. For the experiment, an 433MHz active RFID system is implemented, which is composed of an RFID reader and multiple tags. We evaluated the tag collection performance using one RFID reader and 40 tags in the real test bed. The experimental result shows that proposed protocol improves the tag collection time, round and collision probability by 18%, 37.4% and 77.8%, respectively.
In this paper, we propose an improved anti-collision algorithm for multi tag interrogation in ubiquitous sensor network(USN) and show the result of simulation for multi tag interrogation in RFID systems. We have analyzed an EPC(Electronic Product Code) protocol which specifies the physical and logical requirements for a passive-backscatter Reader-Talk-First(RTF) RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) system operating in the $860MHz{\sim}960MHz$ frequency range. We have also designed and implemented the simulator of the RFID system based on the EPC protocol. Finally, we find that proposed algorithm works better than an existing algorithm.
In this paper, the encoding time delay of FH/TDD(Frequency Hopping/Time Division Duplex) based Motion JPEG image compression CODEC is analyzed for radio video transmissions of multi-camera systems in a vehicle. And, Synchronized connection of minimum channel collision is designed with synchronized shift and access according to channel status for Motion JPEG based FH/TDD multiple access.
In this paper, a method of using Software Defined Radio (SDR) is proposed for improving the accuracy of identifying two kinds of signals as Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) signal and Bluetooth signal at the same frequency band of 2.4 GHz based on the time-domain signal characteristic. An SDR device was set up for collecting transmitting signals from Wi-Fi access points (Wi-Fi) and mobile phones (Bluetooth). Different characteristics between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals were extracted from the measured result. The SDR device is programmed with a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth detection algorithm and a collision detection algorithm to detect and verify the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals based on collected IQ data. These methods are necessary for some applications like wireless communication optimization, Wi-Fi fingerprint localization, which helps to avoid interference and collision between two kinds of signals.

An analysis of the annual frequency of collapse(AF) is performed for each bridge pier exposed to ship collision. From this analysis, the impact lateral resistance can be determined for each pier. The bridge pier impact resistance is selected using a probability-based analysis procedure in which the predicted annual frequency of bridge collapse, AF, from the ship collision risk assessment is compared to an acceptance criterion. The analysis procedure is an iterative process in which a trial impact resistance is selected for a bridge component and a computed AF is compared to the acceptance criterion, and revisions to the analysis variables are made as necessary to achieve compliance. The distribution of the AF acceptance criterion among the exposed piers is generally based on the designer's judgment. In this study, the acceptance criterion is allocated to each pier using allocation weights based on the previous predictions.

Using single carrier frequency RFID system in one-to-multiple wireless communications, might be generated data loss because of data collisions. Conventional Anti-collision method prevent data loss from data collisions which are binary tree method and ALOHA. However, those two preventive measures also have week points which are strongly dependent on the time and space when passing through the recognition area. This paper suggests the full-length instruction code method which fits in to half-duplex method, prevents data collision effectively by calculating the non-transmitting time of multiple tags considering approaching time to the recognition area. After full-length instruction code method test using 13.56MHz bandwidth RFID system shows that full-length instruction code method could make better result than any other methods. Moreover, the record shows O(n) result after analyzing O-notation of conventional time-domain procedure.

RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) is a technology that automatically identifies objects containing the electronic tags by using radio frequency. In RFID system, the reader needs the anti collision algorithm for fast identifring all of the tags in the interrogation zone. This Paper proposes the tree based TPAE(Tag Prediction Algorithm using Extra bit) algorithm to arbitrate the tag collision. The proposed algorithm can identify tags without identifring all the bits in the tag ID. The reader uses the extra bit which is added to the tag ID and if there are two collided bits or multiple collided bits, it checks the extra bit and grasps the tag IDs concurrently. In the experiment, the proposed algorithm had about 50% less query iterations than query tree algorithm and binary search algorithm regardless of the number of tags and tag ID lengths.
The objective of this study was to estimate the roadkill occurrence of water deer (Hydropotes inermis), a representative roadkill species in South Korea. For this estimation, I analyzed national road statistics and roadkill statistics, and then reviewed case studies that estimated the number of deer roadkill in other countries to apply the estimating methods to our case. As a result, the estimated number of water deer vehicle collision was at least 60,000 per year in South Korea.

Recently, the RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology has gained significant attention. One of the performance issues in RFID systems is to resolve the tag collision among responses from RFID tags. In this paper, we proposed a new scheme for estimation of the number of tags in the reader filed. The scheme is used by anti-collision algorithm to identify multiple tags efficiently. And we also present the simulation result that shows the proposed scheme to estimate tags efficiently and also to improve the systems efficiency.
