  • Up to now a lot of the study on ship collision avoidance systems has proceeded actively. However the frequency of ship collision accidents didn't decreased. If there is collision risk in close quarters situation none the less manouvering ship for collision avoidance according to the system, only use of TCPA and DCPA as input factor for collision risk decision is not useful to avoiding collision action. For the recent 5 years by the analysis of first observation distance about approaching ship in domestic collision accidents, nearly $45\%$ of accidents is close first observation less than 2 miles. Therefor it is essential part for safety navigations to study for collision avoidance action in close encounter. In this paper, as foundation study of supporting collision avoidance manoeuvring for navigators, we proposed ship collision avoidance support model in close quarters situation through analysis of collision accidents for effective getting rid of the causes.

  • In RFID system, reader collision happened when multiple readers try to read the tags at the same time. Because reader collision reduces tag recognition performance, it is required for RFID system to have reader anti-collision algorithm. In this paper, we propose reader anti-collision algorithm based on hierarchical structure, where a master reader controls the slave readers to avoid the reader collisions. It is verified through simulations that the proposed algorithm enhances the performance in terms of leader collision probability and tag reading time.

  • Magnetization ringing following domain wall collision on a ferromagnetic nanowire has been investigated by micromagnetic simulation. Suppressed magnetization ringing is observed with the introduction of a small ribbon to the nanowire. Magnetization ringing has been analyzed in a frequency space by a fast Fourier transform. With the introduction of a small ribbon and/or taping of the wire, the amplitude of ringing is reduced with a shifted frequency peak.

  • In the article 16 of the domestic rolling stock crashworthiness regulations, the collision acceleration level during collision accidents should remain under the maximum 7.5g and the average 5g. By the way, the accelerations obtained in crash simulations and tests contain many kinds of high frequency components due to numerical oscillations or noisy signals. So, this paper aims to develop reliable post-processing methods to filter high frequency oscillations and extract the rigid body motions of passenger rail cars. For this study we used the 1-dimensional dynamic model of KHST (Korean high-speed train), and evaluated acceleration data at the driver's area in the first power car and the passenger area in the following trailer.

  • In this study, we suggested several approaches to evaluate the collision acceleration of a carbody under the article 16 of the Korean rolling stock safety regulations. There are various methods to evaluate the rigid body accelerations such as the displacement comparison method by double integration of filtered acceleration data, the velocity comparison method by direct integration of filtered acceleration data, and the analysis method of a velocity-time curve. We compared these methods one another using the 1D dynamic simulation model of Korean high-speed EMU composed of nonlinear springs or bars, dampers, and masses. From the simulation results, the velocity-time curve analysis method and the displacement comparison method are recommended to filter high frequency oscillations and evaluate the maximum and average accelerations of a carbody after a train collision.

  • In this paper, we propose a chip-level detection and a spectral-slice scheme for the tunable-transmitter/fixed-receiver (TTFR)-based asynchronous spectral phase-encoded optical codedivision multiple-access (CDMA) system combined with timeencoding. The chip-level detection can enhance the tolerance of multiple access interference (MAI) because the channel collision does not occur as long as there is at least one weighted position without MAI. Moreover, the spectral-slice scheme can reduce the interference probability because the MAI with the different frequency has no adverse effects on the channel collision rate. As a result, these techniques mitigate channel collisions. We analyze the channel collision rate theoretically, and show that the proposed system can achieve a lower channel collision rate in comparison to both conventional systems with and without the time-encoding method.

  • When ship claps against the ocean structure sited at shallow water, the time simulation of motion responses of dolphin-moored ocean structure is presented. The equatien of motion based on Cummin's theory of impulse responses are employed, and solved in time domain by using the Newmark $\beta$ method. The added mass and damping coefficients involved in the equations are obtained from a three-dimensional panel method in the frequency domain. The impact forces due to ship collision are modeled as two method, and those are elastic and non-elastic collisions. The mooring forces for dolphin systems of scean structure are considered as linear spring system.

  • RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is one of the most promising air interface technologies in the future for object identification using radio wave. If there are multiple tags within the range of the RFID tag reader, all tags send their tag identifications to the reader at the same time in response to the reader's query. This causes collisions on the reader and no tag is identified. A multi-tag identification problem is a core issue in the RFID. It can be solved by anti-collision algorithm such as slot based ALHOA algorithms and tree based algorithms. This paper, proposes a collision tree based anti-collision algorithm using collision tree in RFID system. It is a memory-less algorithm and is an efficient RFID anti-collision mechanism. The collision tree is a mechanism that can solve multi-tag identification problem. It is created in the process of querying and responding between the reader and tags. If the reader broadcasts K bits of prefix to multiple tags, all tags with the identifications matching the prefix transmit the reader the identifications consisted of k+1 bit to last. According to the simulation result, a proposed collision tree based anti-collision algorithm shows a better performance compared to tree working algorithm and query tree algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose a collision avoidance scheduling to increase the multiuser diversity gains in the adaptive orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system. The scheduling policy is based on the minimum collision criterion which investigates the differences of user channels. The paper includes the derivation of capacity expressions for the adaptive OFDMA system with the proposed scheduling. The analysis shows that the capacity of the system depends on the number of collisions between the selected users to be simultaneously served. Numerical results show that the proposed scheduling provides improved capacity performance over existing ones.

  • In this research, the collision detection system based on insect's visual interneuron has been designed. The lobula giant movement detector (LGMD) corresponds to the movement value that increases in direct collision process. If the collision is detected by the LGMD only, it could generate a crash warning even in a non-collision situation, resulting in a lot of false alarms. Directionally sensitive movement detectors (DSMD) are directionally sensitive algorithm based on the elementary movement detectors (EMD) in four directions (up, down, left, and right). In this paper, we propose an efficient VLSI architecture for a realtime collision detection system that is robust to the surrounding environment while improving accuracy. The proposed architecture is synthesized with Dongbu Hightech 110nm standard cell library and shows 333MHz of maximum operating frequency and requires 8400 gates with about 16.5KB of internal memories.
