Background: To investigate tumor inhibition effects and mechanisms of Angelica sinensis and Sophorae flavescentis ait decoction (ASSF) combined with diamine-dichloroplatinum (DDP). Materials and Methods: Bodyweight, tumor inhibition rate and q value were calculated for single ASSF or ASSF combined with DDP on H22 carcinoma xenograft KM mice. Biochemical methods for serum LDH, AST, ALT, and AKP, ELISA method for serum HIF-$1{\alpha}$, pathological assessemnt of thymus, immunohistochemistry detection of tumor tissue caspase3 and mutant p53 protein, and qRT-PCR detection of bax/ bcl-2 mRNA were applied. Results: Compared with DDP control group, the bodyweight increased in ASSF-DDP group (p<0.01). Tumor inhibition rates for DDP, ASSF, ASSF-DDP were 62.7%. 43.7% and 71.0% respectively, with a q value of 0.90. Compared with other groups, thymus of DDP control group had obvious pathological injury (p<0.01), serum LDH, AST, ALT, AKP increased significantly in DDP control group (p<0.01), while serum HIF-$1{\alpha}$ was increased in the model control group. Compared with this latter, the expression of mutant p53 protein and bcl-2 mRNA were decreased in all treatment groups (p<0.01), but there were no statistical difference between DDP control p and ASSF-DDP groups. The expression of caspase3 protein and bax mRNA was increased in all treatment groups, with statistical differences between the DDP and ASSF-DDP groups (p<0.01). Conclusions: ASSF can inhibit bodyweight decrease caused by DDP, can inhibit tumor growth synergistically with DDP mainly through increasing serum HIF-$1{\alpha}$ and pro-apoptotic molecules such as caspase 3 and bax, rather than through decreasing anti-apoptotic mutant p53 and bcl-2. ASSF can reduce DDP toxicity due to decreasing the release of LDH, AST, ALT, AKP into blood and enhancing thymus protection.
Buddist Medicine has greatly influenced Chinese medicine, a medicine centered around East Asian traditional medicine. Buddhist medicine, however, was replaced when Chinese medicine became centered around Confucianism in the 12th century. According to "Tianjinyaofang" a document of the 8th century, however, traces of Buddhist medicine can be found. This study has found and organized the traces of Buddhist medicine in both Korean and Chinese medicine today.
Objective : This study was designed to analyze the herbal medicine case-control studies of tic disorder in traditional chinese medicine. Method : For this study, we searched the studies on tic disorder, which had been published 2007, through web-site CNKI(中國知識基魔設施工程) http://www.cnki.net). There were 15 herbal medicine case-control studies and we focused on those studies. Results: 1. DSM-IV(7 studies), CCMD(5 studies) and ICD-10(3 studies) were frequently used in the diagnosis of tic disorder. 2. Paeonia radix alba, Uncariae ramulus et uncus and Glycyrrhizae radix were frequently used in treatment. Moreover Scorpio, Gastrodiae rhizoma, Pinelliae rhizoma and so on were used. 3. Treatment results were assessed by improvement of symptom, YGTSS and so on. 4. Herbal medicine treatment was more effective than western medicine treatment in most studies, and side effects of herbal medicine were far less than those of western medicine. Conclusion : There have been reported many herbal medicine treatment studies of tic disorder in traditional chinese medicine. We believe that these studies can be applied to the clinical practices in Korean medicine.

With changes in human dietary patterns, the proportion of high-fat and high-cholesterol foods in the daily diet has increased. As a result, the incidence rate of cholelithiasis is increasing rapidly. Many studies have reported on the crucial role that the intestinal microflora plays in the progression of gallstones. Although the whole herb of Lysimachia christinae, a traditional Chinese medicine, has long been extensively used as a remedy for cholelithiasis in China, its effects on the intestinal microflora remain unknown. Hence, in this study, we investigated the ability of the aqueous extract of L. christinae (LAE) to prevent cholesterol gallstones (CGSs) in model animals by affecting the intestinal microflora. The effects of LAE on body weight, serum lipid profile, visceral organ indexes, and histomorphology were studied in male C57BL/6J mice, which were induced by a lithogenic diet. After the 8-week study, CGSs formation was greatly reduced after LAE treatment. LAE also reduced body weight gain and hyperlipidemia and restored the histomorphological changes. Moreover, the intestinal microflora exhibited significant variation. In the model group fed the lithogenic diet, the abundances of the genera unclassified Porphyromonadaceae, Lactobacillus and Alloprevotella decreased, but in contrast, Akkermansia dramatically increased compared with the control check group, which was fed a normal diet; the administration of LAE reversed these changes. These results imply that L. christinae can be considered an efficient therapy for eliminating CGSs induced by a high-fat and high-cholesterol diet, which may be achieved by influencing the intestinal microflora.
Objective : To collect cosmetology text in Shang Han Za Bing Lun(伤寒杂病论), to analyze theory and prescription about cosmetology before HAN(漢) dynasty, so to allow records for modern cosmetology of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Method : Through the systematize for all terms about cosmetology, to reveal the regularity about cosmetology before HAN(漢) dynasty. Result : There were damage-appearance disease in HAN(漢) dynasty, there are lots of ideas about cosmetology in Shang Han Za Bing Lun(伤寒杂病论). Conclusion : Shang Han Za Bing Lun(伤寒杂病论) is a monograph about pattern identification and treatment, and is an important ancient book for research of cosmetology of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In the further, we will research in knowledge discovery about cosmetology of Traditional Chinese Medicine. to strengthen the guidance of the theory of Zhang Zhongjing(张仲景) for clinical practice of cosmetology of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

1. Objectives This study is for comparing between theory about "Constitution" in China and Sasang constitutional Medicine in Korea 2. Method I refered to the literatures about "Constitution" published in China and Korea 3. Result and Conclusion 1) "Constitution" in Traditional Chinese Medcine(TCM) is reinterpretation of Traditional Chinese Medcine, while, Constitution in Sasang Constitutional Medicine is an innovative concept developed from Traditional Korean Medicine. 2) The concept of "Constitution" in Chinese Medicien is related to long-term-period symptom or physical condition, while, the concept of Constitution in Sasang Constitutional Medicien includes not only long-term-period symptoms or physical conditions but also natural superiority and inferiority of individual according to 4 type Constitution. 3) The concept of Constitution in Sasang Constitutional Medicien has organized mind-body system than Concept of "Constitution" in Chinese Medicine. According to the theory of Sasang Constitutional Medicine, Mind is one of the best important things related type of disease. Lectures of Sasang Constitutional Medicine give a full detail of correlation of Mind and disease. 4) Finally, The concept of "Constitution" in Chinese Medicien is changeable but the Concept of "Constitution" in Sasang Constitutional Medicien is not changeable. changeable elements in Sasang Constitutional Medicien are symptoms and syndromes of disease.
Modified Renshen Wumei decoction (MRWD), a famous traditional Chinese medicine, is widely used for treating persistent diarrhea. However, as the mechanism by which MRWD regulates diarrhea remains unknown, we examined the protective effects of MRWD on intestinal barrier integrity in a diarrhea model. In total, 48 male rats were randomly distributed to four treatment groups: the blank group (CK group), model group (MC group), Medilac-Vita group (MV group) and Chinese herb group (MRWD group). After a 21-day experiment, serum and colon samples were assessed. The diarrhea index, pathological examination findings and change in ᴅ-lactate and diamine oxidase (DAO) contents illustrated that the induction of diarrhea caused intestinal injury, which was ameliorated by MV and MRWD infusion. Metabolomics analysis identified several metabolites in the serum. Some critical metabolites, such as phosphoric acid, taurine, cortisone, leukotriene B4 and calcitriol, were found to be significantly elevated by MRWD infusion. Importantly, these differences correlated with mineral absorption and metabolism and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) pathways. Moreover, it significantly increased the expression levels of TLR4, MyD88 and p-NF-κB p65 proteins and the contents of IL-1 and TNF-α, while the expression levels of occludin, claudin-1 and ZO-1 proteins decreased. These deleterious effects were significantly alleviated by MV and MRWD infusion. Our findings indicate that MRWD infusion helps alleviate diarrhea, possibly by maintaining electrolyte homeostasis, improving the intestinal barrier integrity, and inhibiting the TLR4/NF-κB axis.
Objectives: This study was investigated in order to analyse the characteristics of recent Chinese medicine treatment of gastric cancer, and provide literature basis for the development of effective therapy of gastric cancer by reviewing Chinese journals. Methods: The literature on Chinese medicine treatment of gastric cancer were collected, analyzed and summarized from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) from 2000 to 2013. Results: Physicians have not shown consistent opinion with the pattern identification of gastric cancer. Recently, traditional Chinese Medicine patent prescriptions have been much used in the treatment of gastric cancer, which is classified into the reinforcement of healthy qi and elimination of the pathogenic factors. Chinese medicine combined with western medicine can improve the immune system and quality of life, while reducing toxic side effects. Conclusions: Further studies on traditional Chinese Medicine are needed to increase the survival rate of gastric cancer and effectiveness of combination therapy with western medicine.
