항타기 전도예방을 위한 임시 철판의 두께에 관한 연구 (Minimum Thickness of Temporary Steel Plate to Prevent Pile Driver Overturning)

  • 건설 현장에서 항타기 전도 사고는 빈도는 낮으나 발생 시 심각한 피해를 야기한다. 항타기 전도 사고의 주원인은 침하에 의한 모멘트 발생임에도 불구하고 KOSHA-C-101-2014, KOSH-A-GUIDE-71-2012, 산업안전보건 기준, NCS 등의 규정에서 철판 사용에 대한 선언적 내용만 있을 뿐 구체적인 요구조건이 명시되어 있지 않다. 이에 항타기 자중, 지반조건에 따라 하부 철판의 제원이 바뀌어야 하지만 현장에서는 임의로 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 수치 해석(Plaxis 2D)을 기반으로 요구되는 최소 철판 두께를 분석 하였다. 토양의 종류(모래, 점토), 하중 분포, 철판 두께(10mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm)에 따라 침하 정도와 및 지반 항복 유무를 산출하였으며, 그 결과 모든 조건에서 두께 10mm 철판은 지반 항복을 유발하였다. 두께 20mm부터는 지반 침하로 발생하는 회전각이 허용치인 2° 이내로 분석되었다.

급성약물중독에 관한 임상적 고찰 (Clinical Observation of Acute Drug Intoxications)

  • Clinical observations were made on 349 cases of acute drug intoxication who were visited to emergency room of Yeungnam University Hospital during recent 7 years from January 1984 to December 1990. The following results were obtained 1) Total number of cases of acute drug intoxication was 349 which was 0.39% of the total patients of the emergency room during the same period. 2) The ratio of male to female was 1.1 : 1. The age incidence was highest in the third decade(26.7%). The monthly incidence was hightest in May. Higher frequency was observed in summer season. 3) The most common drug of the intoxication was pesticides and herbicides(71.9%), the remainders were miscellaneous drugs(11.2%), sedatives(7.7%), rodenticides(6.3%) and unknown drug(3.2%) in orders. 4) The most common cause of drug intoxication was suicide(69.1%) and the others were accident, unknown cause, intention in orders. 5) Main clinical manifestations were the impairment of consciousness, nausea, vomiting and convulsion. Physical examination revealed increased pulses, increased blood pressure, miosis of the pupil and sweating. Above symptoms and signs were more prominent in pesticide intoxication. Leukocytosis, glycosuria and abnormal LFT were common findings in acute intoxications. 6) The complications were developed in 18.3% among 349 cases and the most common complication was respiratory failure, pneumonia, cardiovascular collapse and pulmonary edema in orders. 7) Overall mortality rate was 8.3% of total cases and mortality rate was highest in herbicide intoxication(22.2%).

Finite element development of a Beam-column connection with CFRP sheets subjected to monotonic and cyclic loading

  • Beam-column joints are recognized as the weak points of reinforcement concrete frames. The ductility of reinforced concrete (RC) frames during severe earthquakes can be measured through the dissipation of large energy in beam-column joint. Retrofitting and rehabilitating structures through proper methods, such as carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), are required to prevent casualties that result from the collapse of earthquake-damaged structures. The main challenge of this issue is identifying the effect of CFRP on the occurrence of failure in the joint of a cross section with normal ductility. The present study evaluates the retrofitting method for a normal ductile beam-column joint using CFRP under monotonic and cyclic loads. Thus, the finite element model of a cross section with normal ductility and made of RC is developed, and CFRP is used to retrofit the joints. This study considers three beam-column joints: one with partial CFRP wrapping, one with full CFRP wrapping, and one with normal ductility. The two cases with partial and full CFRP wrapping in the beam-column joints are used to determine the effect of retrofitting with CFRP wrapping sheets on the behavior of the beam-column joint confined by such sheets. All the models are subjected to monotonic and cyclic loading. The final capacity and hysteretic results of the dynamic analysis are investigated. A comparison of the dissipation energy graphs of the three connections shows significant enhancement in the models with partial and full CFRP wrapping. An analysis of the load-displacement curves indicates that the stiffness of the specimens is enhanced by CFRP sheets. However, the models with both partial and full CFRP wrapping exhibited no considerable improvement in terms of energy dissipation and stiffness.

도로비탈면 투자우선순위 결정에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Priority Investments for Preventing Roadside Slope Failures)

  • 산사태나 비탈면 재해를 예방하기 위해서는 적절한 계획을 수립하여야 하며, 국가의 한정된 예산을 고려했을 때 체계적인 투자 계획이 마련되어야 한다. 국도 도로비탈면의 체계적인 관리와 합리적 투자 계획 수립을 위하여 위험도와 예상피해도를 고려하여 투자우선순위를 산출하였다. 투자우선순위에서 위험도 결정의 주요인자는 경사, 토질, RMR, 안정석해석, 불연속면 종류, 붕괴이력이며, 피해도는 교통량과 차선수, 평균차량위험도를 고려하여 결정하였다. 강원도 영서지방 392개소 비탈면에 대한 투자우선순위 산출 및 회귀분석 결과, 붕괴가 발생된 비탈면의 투자우선순위가 높은 것으로 확인되며, 위험구간비가 높은 비탈면, 계곡부가 존재하는 비탈면이 높은 투자우선순위를 차지하는 것으로 확인된다.

선천성 Bochdalek hernia4례 보고 (Congenital Bochdalek hernia: report of 4 cases)

  • Congenital posterolateral diaphragmatic hernia [Bochdalek hernia] is the result of a congenital diaphragmatic defect in the posterior costal part of the diaphragm in the region of the tenth and eleventh ribs. There is usually free communication between the thoracic and abdominal cavities. The defect is most commonly found on the left [90%], but may occurs on the right, where the liver often prevents detection. The male to female ratio is 2:1. Owing to the negative intrathoracic pressure, herniation of abdominal contents through the defects occurs, with resultant collapse of the lung. Shifting of mediastinum to the opposite side and compression of the opposite lung occurs. Most often these hernias are manifestated by acute respiratory distress in the newborn. A second, but less well recognized, group of patient with Bochdalek hernia survive beyond the neonatal period, usually present at a later time with "failure of thrive, intermittent vomiting, or progressive respiratory difficulty. " The diagnosis can often be made on clinical ground from the presence of respiratory distress, absence of breath sounds on the chest presence of bowel sounds over the chest . Roentgenogram of the chest confirm the diagnosis. Obstruction and strangulation have been reported but are rare. Treatment consists of early reliable identification of these congenital diaphragmatic hernia with high risk and surgical repairment. and postoperative pharmacological management with extracorporeal membranous oxygenation [=ECMO] support in the period of intensive care. On the surgical approach, for defects on left side, an abdominal incision is preferred, because of the high incidence of malrotation and obstructing duodenal bands. In the neonate, the operative mortality may be appreciable, but, later repair almost always is successful. During the period from 1972 to 1982, 4 cases of congenital Bochdalek hernia were experienced at the Kyung-Hee University Hospital.

SIM을 적용한 성토보강용 지오그리드의 수명예측 (Application of Stepped Isothermal Methods to Lifetime Prediction of Geogrids)

  • 사면 또는 옹벽 등 토목구조물에 보강용으로 적용되는 지오그리드의 고장은 토목구조물의 형태변형을 유발할 수 있는 과도한 크리프 변형으로 정의할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 지오그리드의 크리프 변형을 단시간에 시험할 수 있는 SIM(Stepped Isothermal Methods)과 통계적 수명평가기법을 적용하여, Polyester 편포형 지오그리드의 수명을 예측하였다. 그 결과 예측한 75, 100, 114년에서의 크리프 변형율은 각각, 8.74, 8.79, 8.80%이고, CV%는 2.16~2.20%로 매우 반복성 있는 결과를 보여준다. 수명 예측 결과는 $27^{\circ}C$에서 100년 사용 후 지오그리드의 크리프 변형율이 9.3%로 추정되었고, 현장에서 요구되는 수명(100년 사용 후 크리프 변형율 10% 미만)을 만족하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 연구를 통하여, SIM을 적용할 경우 기존의 시간-온도 중첩원리(Conventional Time-Temperature Superposition)를 적용한 수명평가 방법에 비하여 시료간의 편차를 최소화 시킬 수 있고 또한 99.5%의 시험시간을 단축시킬 수 있어서 매우 효과적인 것으로 판단된다.

현장사례를 이용한 보강토옹벽의 파괴원인 및 안정성 분석 (Analysis on Failure Causes and Stability of Reinforced Earth Wall Based on a Field Case)

  • 본 연구에서는 집중강우에 의해 파괴가 발생한 보강토옹벽의 현장사례를 바탕으로 강우가 보강토옹벽의 안정성 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여 침투해석을 수행하였다. 또한 침투해석 결과를 바탕으로 지하수위 변화에 따른 보강토옹벽의 전체사면에 대한 안정성을 평가하였다. 침투해석 결과, 본 연구대상 현장에 형성되는 지하수위는 강우의 영향이 민감하게 작용하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이를 바탕으로 보강토옹벽에 대한 전체사면 안정성을 평가한 결과, 보강토옹벽의 최초 파괴 당시의 안전율이 0.476으로 나타났다. 즉, 보강토옹벽의 전체사면에 대한 활동파괴는 지속적인 강우 및 집중강우로 인하여 과도한 지표수 유입에 따른 급속한 지하수위 상승이 직접적인 원인으로 분석되었다. 따라서 보강토옹벽의 설계 및 시공 시, 최근 발생하고 있는 집중강우를 대비한 설계 및 이를 고려한 다양한 안정해석을 통하여 안정성을 확보할 필요가 있음을 확인하였다.

항해중 선박 적재화물의 동적 안정성 평가에 관한 연구 (On the Evaluation of the dynamic Safety of the Ship's Cargo at Sea)

  • One of the most important missons that are imposed on merchant ship at sea is to accomplish the safe transportation of cargo loaded. Recently, a study on the seakeeping performance has been carried out on the development of evaluation system related to the synthetic safety of a ship at sea. The seakeeping performance is the ship's ability sailing at, and executing its misson against adverse environmental factors successfully and safely. Until now, however, there has not been any method of quantitative evaluation on the dynamic safety of the ship's cargo loaded. In this regards, this paper has introduced the evaluation method of dynamic safety of the ship's cargo. In order to evaluate the dynamic safety of cargo, the vertical and lateral acceleration which causes the collapse, racking and local structure failure of cargo was adopted as the evaluation factors in the ship's motions. The response amplitude of ship's motions in regular waves is manipulated by NSM (New Strip Method) on a given 2,700 TEU full container vessel under the wind forces of 7, 8 and 9 Beaufort scale. Each response of ship's motions induced by NSM was applied to short-crested irregular waves for stochastic process on evaluation factors and then vertical and lateral acceleration of each cargo was compared with significant amplitude of each acceleration. A representative dangerous factor was determined by comparing permissible values of stacking and racking forces occurred typically to the vertical and transverse directions with the container strength required on ISO 1496 at the positions of forecastle, poop and ship's midship respectively. Through the occurrence probability of the determined factor by Rayleigh's probability density function, the dangerousness which limits loads on container's side wall as an evaluation was applied in judging of the danger of the ship's cargo loaded.

외부 정수압을 받는 복수 원통의 연쇄 내파에 관한 실험연구 (Tests on the Serial Implosion of Multiple Cylinders Subjected to External Hydrostatic Pressure)

  • In the present paper, implosion responses of two adjacent cylindrical tubes under external hydrostatic pressure were experimentally investigated. The cylinder models were fabricated of aluminium alloy 6061-T6 commercial tubes. In the experiment, a pair of two-cylinders were placed inside of a support frame in a medium-size pressure chamber, whose design pressure was 6.0MPa. The distance between the two-cylinders was 30 millimeter measured from outer shell at the mid-length. The implosion tests were performed with water and compressed nitrogen gas as the pressurizing media. The ambient static pressure of the chamber and local dynamic pressure near the two-imploded models were measured simultaneously. It was found that the energy released during an implosion from the first, weaker cylinder triggered the instability of the second, stronger cylinders. In other words, the resulting shock wave of the first implosive impact from the weaker cylinder could cause the premature failure of the neighboring stronger cylinders. The non-contact implosion phenomena from the two-cylindrical tube were clearly observed.

조적조 비내력벽을 가진 기존 학교 구조물의 내진 성능평가 (Evaluation of Performance of Korean Existing School Buildings with Masonry Infilled Walls Against Earthquakes)

  • In Korea, most existing school buildings have been constructed with moment frames with un-reinforced infill walls designed only considering gravity loads. Thus, the buildings may not perform satisfactorily during earthquakes expected in Korea. In exterior frames of the building, un-reinforced masonry infill walls with window openings are commonly placed, which may alter the structural behavior of adjacent columns due to the interaction between the wall and column. The objective of this study is to evaluate the seismic performance of existing school buildings according to the procedure specified in ATC 63. Analytical models are proposed to simulate the structural behavior of columns, infill walls and their interaction. The accuracy of the proposed model is verified by comparing the analytical results with the experimental test results for one bay frames with and without infill walls with openings. For seismic performance evaluation, three story buildings are considered as model frames located at sites having different soil conditions ($S_A$, $S_B$, $S_C$, $S_D$, $S_E$) in Korea. It is observed that columns behaves as a short columns governed by shear due to infill masonry walls with openings. The collapse probabilities of the frames under maximum considered earthquake ranges from 62.9 to 99.5 %, which far exceed the allowable value specified in ATC 63.
