Objectives: The purpose of this study is to develop a health-promoting program centered on the university-health center and to provide a developed program for students and faculties. Methods: A survey was conducted of 719 female students and 238 faculties concerning their health-promoting programs. Based on the results of the survey, we developed programs that could be applied to students and faculties. After operating the programs, we developed further models by evaluating the effectiveness and satisfaction. Conclusions: We selected a comprehensive health-promoting program that included weight control, preventive inoculation, sex education and control of disease based on repsective needs. We also applied programs developed through collaboration with other departments from September 1998 to August, 1999. Users of the preventive inoculation-program increased by one point five during the year. Also, participants were generally satisfied with the weight control program and succeeded in reducing weight. We hope that we can set up this program and expand it by developing various other projects in Korea.

The purpose of this study was to develop the creative hands-on activities using EM (effective microorganisms) that can enhance the environmental literacy of learners, and to examine the effect of its application. The program was composed of 10 sessions, including biological knowledge and ecosystem status of microorganisms, practical activities that stimulate the environmental behavior and emotion of elementary school students, and career design related to their aptitude and occupation in future. This program can also be connected to the domains of creative hands-on activities, that is, career activities, club activities, self-regulated activities and voluntary service activities. In this study, two classes of 3th grades of elementary school in Seoul were selected and divided into two groups. The experimental group to undergo the program of creative hands-on activities using EM showed higher environmental literacy than the control group. In the concrete, it is proven that this program contributed to the improvement of learners' environmental emotion, skill, and behavior. When interviewed with experimental group, we found that sustained EM hands-on activities were conducted in collaboration with their families, and they became more aware of the utilities of EM and could participate in the activities more interestingly. In conclusion, the creative hands-on activities program was very effective and helped elementary students to change their environmental literacy in positive ways.

The aim of this study is to provide primary data to propel business intended for the entire nation through the analytic assessment of the propulsion process of the newly attempted 'Dagagu' Housing Purchase and Public Rental Program (DPPRP) for the cities low income bracket. The study method was to conduct analysis of data, interview survey, onsite tenant interviews and examination of the locale in order to analyze the execution of the program and experiences of the administrator in charge of executing the model program. In the case of the enforcement of the 'Dagagu' Housing Purchase and Public Rental Program(DPPRP), combined teams of the specialty fields of purchase, rental, and management are needed; operation propulsion system of the purchase process of the housing, rental process for selecting the tenant, and the entire process of management afterwards needs to be maintained; and a collaboration system with related organizations need to be constructed.

PURPOSE: This study aims to review the FUNfitness program, conducted by physical therapists as part of the Special Olympics Athlete Health Promotion Program, to provide basic data for the health management of individuals with intellectual disabilities. METHODS: This study collected and organized materials related to the Special Olympics Athlete Health Promotion Program, as well as training manuals for FUNfitness. Additionally, it referenced activity reports of the FUNfitness program developed through the collaboration between the American Physical Therapy Association and the Special Olympics. RESULTS: The results of this study present the definition and composition of the Special Olympics Athlete Health Promotion Program, its objectives, the definition and design objectives of the FUNfitness program, the composition and evaluation procedures of the testing and assessment items, and recommendations for referral for additional physical therapy interventions following FUNfitness education. CONCLUSION: This article describes the importance of physical therapists understanding physical therapy screening and management for the health care of individuals with intellectual disabilities, emphasizing the need for their continuous interest in promoting the health of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Since no course is offered in the area of professional ICT(Information & Communication Technology) in the high school curriculum, high school students do not have the opportunity to learn about the ICT engineering area and the possible career paths in the field. Due to this problem, high school students are not motivated to choose ICT majors at university level, and in turn, the ICT departments are struggling to recruit qualified students. In this paper, we present an R&E (research and education) model to mitigate this problem. We also present a case study on the program following the model offered by "H" university in collaboration with a local high school. Through the program we provided high school students with design and development experiences to solve engineering problems related to the ICT area and tried to attract their attention to ICT majors. The participants of the R&E program were able to experience the systematic engineering design process, ICT tools, teamwork, and communication skills through problem solving procedures. Based on three years of observation and the survey, it was found that more than 76% of students were motivated highly by ICT and engineering majors via the program. The main contribution of the paper is that we have proposed and proved the R&E program model and applied the ICT R&E model to a program to attract qualified students to ICT majors.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of an eight session integrated case management program for improvement of medication adherence, physical function, pain, and depression among medical aid beneficiaries with osteoarthritis. Method: A nonequivalent control group pre-posttest design was employed. Participants were 55 medical aid beneficiaries who agreed to participate in this study, and were assigned to an experimental group (n=28) or control group (n=27). The framework of this research derived from Cox's Interaction Model of Client Health Behavior guided the overall intervention and the components. The program led by a case manager with a medication calendar, motivating interviewing and coaching strategies and collaboration with a pharmacist. Analysis included change in scores, ${\chi}^2$-test, and t-test. Result: The results showed significant increase in medication adherence, physical function and decrease joint pain, joint stiffness and depression in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The eight session integrated case management program indicated an effect on medication adherence, pain, physical function, and depression. Partnership with a pharmacist is recommended for medication adherence and conduct of further studies will be needed in order to determine the long-term effect of an extended integrated program on health outcomes.

Purpose: To determine the effects of a child and parent program on developing social skills for preventing violent behaviors in children aged 60~72 months through a specially developed pre and posttest, control group, quasi-experimental study. Methods: A social skills development program based on Gardner's Multiple Intelligence Theory was used. The data were collected using the Social Skills Assessment Scale (SSAS), a Chart to Monitor Verbal and Behavioral Violence in Children, the Parental Attitude Scale and the Parent Interview Form. This quasi-experimental study that included a pretest, posttest, and control group had a sample comprising 67 children and parents, with 36 in the experimental group, and 31 in the control group. Results: Over a six-month period, while the social skill scores of the children in the experimental and control groups increased, their violent behaviors decreased (p<.050). Increase in social skill scores and decrease in violent behaviors were higher in the experimental than in the control group children (p<.050). The parents in the experimental group stated that they had started to empathize with their children, using "I" language, and applied rules more consistently after the program. Conclusion: This program was successful in preventing violent behaviors in children through the development of social skills. Hence, it can be effectively implemented through a teacher/nurse collaboration.

The Indonesian government launched a new people's business credit program as part of a package of economic policy and deregulation. The interest rate is set lower than the average of the current loan interest rates, especially when compared with rural bank interest rates. To capture the social spatial aspects, quota sampling is applied to ten areas that divided based on the social culture. Further, the method utilized in this research is logit models, which designed to analyse the determinants of asymmetric information particularly on the rural bank and small micro enterprises. The study was conducted in East Java as the province with the largest number of rural banks in Indonesia. Based on the estimation of asymmetric information model to the respondent of rural banks and small businesses, the result shows that adverse selection can be avoided by strengthening the information about prospective borrowers. Regarding moral hazard, rural banks and small businessmen argued that the imposition of the collateral to the debtor has an important role to avoid moral hazard. Rural bank respondents stated that the KUR program with low-interest rates has affected their business development. The results implied the need of broadening the collaboration schemes between this people's business credit program and rural banks.

The purpose of this study is to develop New-IT internship and to search for the way to reduce quality mismatch and unemployment ratio and to ultimately enhance its effectiveness of university-industry collaboration(UIC) in the field of information technology in Korea. To achieve the goal of this study, we tried to come up with more job creation than educational UIC. The survey(based on CIPP model) based on the reaction of companies and interns participating in IT internship program promoted by MKE(Ministry of Knowledge and Economy) shows that intern experience helped them to get jobs and longer intern period gave them to find job more easily. This program is designed to focus on intern matching between students' major and their intern jobs, and requires new employees' level of job quality. They(56%) preferred to hire local college students majoring in special technology area related to regional innovation industry cluster. It also found that intern companies(87%) wanted to participate in this program again and hired intern students(61%) as showing the possible connection of internship and employment. IT Internship program affected students(68.3%) good images about small and medium enterprises(SME) after finishing internship.

Steward Observatory has a rich and diverse program of investigations, with significant groups working on star and planet formation and astrobiology, galaxy and quasar formation and evolution, technology for adaptive optics and interferometry, computational astrophysics, and effectiveness of educational practice. To support this work, Steward operates and offers a range of observational and other facilities, including the Large Binocular Telescope, the MMT, the Magellan Telescopes, the Arizona Radio Observatory, and a suite of 1- and 2-m class telescopes. A special opportunity for IR astronomy exists with Arizona now running UKIRT. Steward Observatory astronomers would welcome the opportunity to form genuine scientific collaborations that are mutually beneficial for high-impact projects and improving the observing facilities.
