The concurrence of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in a single tumor is rarely encountered. We report a case of BCC and SCC in a single tumor in the anterior auricular area. A 70-year-old woman had been diagnosed with BCC by a punch biopsy performed at a dermatology clinic. We performed wide excision of the tumor with an ulcer in the anterior auricular area. Analysis of the biopsy specimen revealed the presence of both BCC and SCC in the tumor. This case illustrates that it is necessary to establish a precise diagnosis and formulate appropriate surgical and treatment plans considering the possibility that two carcinomas may coexist, although the possibility is low in patients with skin cancer.

The definition of convergence employed in this study is a sociocultural phenomenon where different patterns, genres or fields coexist along with the existence of a knowledge based society. The focus of this study was centered on identifying the characteristics of contemporary fashion paradigm in association with changing cultural convergence according to the theories of Mark Weiser and other futurologists. The purpose of this study was to delve into the features of this paradigm in conjunction with changing cultural convergence in 21st century's knowledge-based society, and the influence of convergence paradigm on fashion. After identifying the features of knowledge-based society paradigm in association with changing cultural convergence, the characteristics of the fashion paradigm in order to ascertain and analyze fashion trends. Conclusions based on analyzed data indicate that in a knowledge-based society, paradigm change resulting from convergence phenomena contributes to facilitating the dissolution of fashion from other fields and its fusion with other areas.

Two groups of bacteria, harmful and useful bacteria, coexist in our body. Harmful bacteria and free radicals which cause many diseases and agings could be controlled by not synthetic materials but natural products. 50 kinds of natural products were searched for this purpose, some of them expressed bacterial controlling ability. Clostridium difficle was controlled by Paeonia Japonica and Lycii Fructus, etc., Clostridium perfringens was inhibited by Scutellaria Baicalensis and Astragali Radix, etc., and same way, Listeria monocytogenes; Paeonia Japonica and Scutellaria Baicalensis, E. coli; Scutellaria Baicalensis and Schizandrae Fructus, Staphylococcus aureus; Paeonla Japonica and Scutellaria Baicalensis, Streptococcus mutans; Coptis Rhizoma, respectively. These natural products will play an important role in bio-Industry.

Inter-cell coordination has been an emerging issue for mitigating inter-cell interference in broadband wireless access networks such as IEEE802.16 and 3GPP LTE (Long Term Evolution). This paper proposes uplink/downlink hybrid inter-cell coordination patterns for a TDD (Time Division Duplex)/MC-CDMA (Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiple Access) system. For the performance analysis, closed forms of inter-cell interferences are derived when uplink and downlink transmissions coexist over a multi-cell environment. In the analysis, we find an optimal ratio of downlink transmit powers of BSs (Base Stations) based on the target outage probability and the performance according to ratios of uplink/downlink transmit powers of MSs (Mobile Stations)/BSs is explored. Our numerical results show that interference mitigation utilizing the characteristics of the uplink and downlink power ratio is very effective in improving system performance in terms of QoS.

A number of previous researches in evolutionary algorithm are based on the study of facets we observe in natural evolution. The individuals of species in natural evolution occupy their own niche that is a subdivision of the habitat. This means that two species with the similar requirements cannot live together in the same niche. This is known as the competitive exclusion principle, i.e., complete competitors cannot coexist. A nonlinear low-Reynolds-number k-.epsilon. model of Park and Sung was extended to predict the flows over a step with inclined wall, where a boundary layer flow without separation and a separated and reattaching flow coexist. For a better prediction of the flows, a slight modification was made on the function of the wall damping( $f_{\mu}$) and the model constant ( $C_{{\epsilon}1}$) in the .epsilon.-equation. The model performance was validated by comparing the model predictions with the experiment. It was shown that the flows over a step with inclined wall are simulated successfully with the present model.ent model.

Usually triangular patches are used to transfer geometric shape in Rpaid Prototyping CAM system. STL, a list of triangles, is de facto in RP industry. Because STL has no topology data, it can cause errornous results. So, STL should be verified before using. After adding support structures to anchor the part to the platform and to prevent sagging or distortion, slicing and layer by layer manufacturing process are done. But triangular patch is surface model and cannot provide dufficient information on geometry in the above processes. So, geometric modeling is necessary in verifying STL, adding support structures, and slicing. It is natural that triangle based modeling is the best when traingular patches are used as input. Considering support structures, solid and faces coexist in RP process. Therefore non-manifold modeler is required. In this study, triangle based non-manifold geometric modeling is proposed for RP system consitent with STL input.

Characteristics of pulsatile flow and heat transfer have been studied numerically in the constant heat flux curved tube with periodic pressure gradient. As the Womersley number increases, the phase difference between the pressure gradient and the cross section averaged axial velocity becomes larger. In case of the Womersley number $\beta = 2$, when cross section averaged axial velocity reaches periodic state with time, the reverse and the natural flow coexist at phase angle, $\lambda = 1.44\pi$ and $\lambda =1.96\pi$. For all the Womersley numbers of present investigation, the time variation of wall temperature near inner wall is higher than that of near outer wall, independent of phase angle.

In mobile browser two mental models coexist; one for mobile users and the other for PC users. In this research shows that users apply these two mental models simultaneously while they use mobile browsers. However cases where these two mental models conflict with each other, rapid deterioration of usability of the UX based on the mobile user's mental model was evident. Also usability of mobile user interfaces for use cases like "View Mode" or "Copy and Send Mode" were also poor, and the research shows that these "Modes" could be substituted by gesture interaction with which users were already familiar.
