Three successive phase transitions in bis-n-octhylammonium hexachlorostannate, $(n-C_8H_{17}NH_3)_2SnCl_6$, were studied by means of the ^1H nuclear magnetic resonance linewidth and spin-lattice relaxation measurements. Unlike the compounds with longer hydrocarbon chains, the order-disorder and conformational nature were found to coexist in the phase transitions.

In this paper, performance of a PN code acquisition scheme is analyzed and simulated for a DS/CDMA overlay system where a CDMA user and a narrowband user coexist in the same frequency band. To suppress the NBI, an interference suppression filter is employed at the receiver front-end. From the simulation results, it is shown that the interference suppression filter is very effective for suppression of the NBI and rapid PN code acquisition in a DS/CDMA overlay environment. It is also shown that the one-sided tap number of 5 fur interference suppression filter is sufficient to suppress the NBI.

Many tumors have been reported to coexist with cerebral aneurysm. However, intracranial dermoid cysts associated with cerebral aneurysm are very rare. We report a case in which rupture of a cerebral aneurysm resulted in a ruptured dermoid cyst. We present this interesting case and review current literature about the relationship between tumors and aneurysm formation.

It is revealed that duality and similarity between both capacitance and inductance systems coexist, and also that the former is more efficient than the latter in application viewpoints in time-invariant linear cases as far as both systems are concerned. This paper, using the similarity relation, proposes a new magnetics capacity concept similar to electrostatic capacity so that inductance systems may be interpreted as the corresponding capacitance systems. The new concept makes it convenient to analyze the both systems by unified approach. Finally an example demonstrates the applicability and convenience of the proposed method, through the analysis of capacitances and inductances on the transposed transmission line.

Domain structure and the spatial arrangement of tetragonal and rhombohedral phases in PZT ceramics at MPB composition were investigated with a transmission electron microscope. Fringe Contrast and doublet spot splitting were observed in the image mode and the selected area diffraction pattern, respectively. Besides, triplet spot splitting was also observed in the other part of the specimen. These observations indicate that both the single phase regions and the regions which are comosed of alternatively arranged tetragonal and rhombohedral domains coexist in a PZT ceramics at the MPB composition.

In this contribution, we attempted a theoretical analysis on the validity of the widely-accepted idea that rough and singular surfaces can coexist in a crystal at equilibrium. By manipulating the Cahn and Hoffman capillarity vector, the conclusion that a crystal at equilibrium should be composed either of singular surfaces or of rough ones was reached.

Family life culture embodies the ways of thinking and behaving among family members in everyday lives. With a noticeable growth of multicultural families since 2000, there has been an inflow of other culture into the existing Korean family life culture. This new phenomenon signals a potential transformation of the family life culture in Korean society. To forecast such changes, we compared the family life culture of Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families (as reported by 104 Korean husbands and their Vietnamese wives) with that of mainstream Korean families (as reported by 108 Korean married men and 92 Korean married women) by comparing family ritual practices and family values. We also sought to identify whether two cultures in Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families harmoniously coexist or clash by examining differences within couples. Results showed that Korean married men and Korean husbands of Vietnamese women were very similar in terms of family ritual practices and family values. Differences emerged between Korean husbands and their Vietnamese wives. Specifically, Korean husbands endorsed more traditional gender role beliefs while their family values were less patriarchal compared to their wives. Results suggest that more flexible gender role beliefs reported by Vietnamese wives may be a source of conflict in Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families. At the same time, it may be a driving force of change in their existing family life culture. It will be worthwhile to pay attention in future research to whether and how patriarchal values and flexible gender role beliefs would continue to coexist or modify each other.
