  • The paper presents the method and apparatus for conformal photoresist spray coating on the 3D structured substrate. The system consists of a high-temperature-rotational chuck, ultrasonic spray nozzle module, angle control module and nozzle moving module. The coating uniformity is acquired by controlling the moving speed of the ultrasonic spray nozzle across the substrate which is rotated constantly. To coat the photoresist conformally the spray angle of the nozzle and the temperature of the substrate are controlled during spray coating. The rotational chuck can be heated up by hot air or $N_2$. The photoresist (AZ1512) has been coated on the 3D structured wafer by spray coating system and the characteristics have been evaluated.

구성인선을 고려한 소형 박판 밀링공구의 설계 (Design of A Small Thin Milling Cutter Considering Built-up Edge)

  • Generally, a metal slitting saw is plain milling cutter with thickness less than 3/16 inch. This is used for cutting a workpiece that high dimensional accuracy and surface finish is necessary. A small thin milling cutter like a metal slitting saw is useful for machining a narrow groove. In this case, built up edge(BUE) is severe at each tooth and affects the surface integrity of the machined surface and tool wear. It is well known that tool geometry and cutting conditions are decisive factors to remove BUE. In this paper, we optimized the geometry of the milling cutter and selected cutting conditions to remove BUE by the experimental investigation. The experiment was planned with Taguchi method based on the orthogonal array of design factors such as coating, rake angle, number of tooth, cutting speed, feed rate. Response table was obtained from the number of built-up edge generated at tooth. The optimized tool geometry and cutting conditions could be determined through response table. In addition, the relative effect of factors was identified bh the analysis of variance (ANOVA). Finally, coating and cutting speed turned out important factors for BUE.

철강재료위 coating된 PTFE 막층의 미끄럼 마찰마모특성 연구 (A Study of Sliding Friction and Wear Properties for PTFE Layer coated on Steel)

  • PTFE is generally utilized as the form of composites with adding various fillers. The purpose of this paper lies on clarifying the friction and wear properties of the PTFE coating layer on steel. Especially, the effects of PTFE powder size for coating and surface roughness of the counter material on the properties are investigated. Sliding friction and wear tests are conducted at several sliding speeds by employing two types of PTFE coating layer using different powder sizes. One type of coating layer is composed of uniform fine powder, whereas the other type is made up of mixture powder of different sizes. As results, it is found that PTFE coating layer are effective to improve the wear resistance and to reduce the friction coefficient. It is clear that PTFE coating layers are abrasively removed by asperities of the counter material during sliding contact. However, PTFE coating layer with uniform fine powder shows somewhat better wear resistance than that with mixture powder of different sizes in low sliding speed region. It can be seen that the wear of the coating layer are drastically reduced because wear fragment from counter material are transferred to the coating layer. On the other hand, friction coefficient is shown not to be directly related with PTFE powder size in coating layer.

  • Rudder, one of the most important component in the marine vessel, is now being decreased life time to serve due to cavitation erosion, vortex current, high flow speed suffer from ship speed going up dramatically. In this study, 10 kinds of thermal spray coating materials(2 of Zn alloy series, 3 of Al alloy series, 3 of Cu alloy series, 2 of STS alloy series) are chosen to apply on specimens and analyze micro structure, metallic composition, properties(porosity, oxidation) by using visual observation, XRD, EDX etc.. Additionally, to refine the characteristic of corrosion endurance for thermal spray coating layer, compared with thermal spray process and 5 kinds of heavy duty painting and AC paint (Anti-Corrosion Paint). Based on above mentioned experimental results, a priority of all coated specimens on corrosion-erosion endurances finalized and summarized there by desirable composition and process of thermal sprayed material properly.

  • The first aim of the study is to improve the productivity by uniformizing the thickness of coating and reducing quality-inspection time. The second aim is to cut down on the raw materials for coating by prevent the waste of spraying in the air during a painting process through a real-time coating-size-recognition monitering to fit the target components. To achieve the two aims, a simplified version of automatic coating control system for recognition of coating for vessels and Spray. With the sytem, following effects are expected: First, quality improvement will be achieved by uniformizing the film-thickness. Second, it will reduce the waste of coating paint by constructing the speed of the coating, the spray gun robot transfer time, and the number of DBs according to the size of the vessel. Third, as a 3D industry, it will be able to solve the difficulty of supply of labors and save up the labor costs. Therefore, in the future, further research will be needed to be applied to various products with DB design that designates the variable value, which is added for each type of pieces by comparing the difference between various types of workpieces and linear ones.

표면 분석을 이용한 컴퓨터 하드디스크용 윤활제의 특성 연구 (Investigation of the Characteristics of Lubricant in Computer Hard Disk by Using Surface Analysis Technique)

  • 컴퓨터 하드디스크용 윤활제인 PFPE중 Z-DOL과 AM2001을 이용하여 pulling-up speed와 윤활제의 농도를 변화시키면서 윤활제의 두께변화를 알아보았으며, 또한 열처리를 통해 overcoat층인 carbon과 윤활제의 결합특성을 알아보았다. Pulling-up speed가 빠를수록, 그리고 윤활제의 농도가 증가할수록 윤활제의 두께는 두껍게 coating되었음을 알 수 있었으며, 또한 XPS을 이용하여 분석해 본 결과, overcoat층인 carbon에 존재하는 표면 오염물은 C-OH, CO가 지배적이었고, 열처리를 함으로써 overcoat층인 carbon과 윤활제의 결합력이 증진됨을 알 수 있었다.

마른새우첨가 쌀 collet을 이용한 스낵 제조 시 코팅공정 독립변수의 조건변화에 따른 종속변수의 특징 (Characteristics of the Dependent Variables due to the Conditions of the Independent Variables of Coating Process During the Producing of Snack Using Rice Collet Added with Dried Shrimp)

  • 마른새우가 첨가된 쌀 collet을 이용하여 편이 스낵을 제조하기 위하여 식용유코팅 독립변수 및 혼합조미분말코팅 독립변수 각각 4개(사용량, tumbler 온도, tumbler 속도, 코팅시간)의 조건변화에 의한 각각 2개의 종속변수(코팅수율, 파손율)의 특성을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 식용유코팅 시, 식용유 사용량을 10-30%로 조건을 변화하여 collet을 식용유코팅 할 경우, 코팅수율은 증가하다가 사용량 20% 이상일 때는 거의 비슷한 값이었으며, 파손율은 사용량이 증가할수록 감소하였다. Tumbler 온도를 $40-80^{\circ}C$로 조건을 변화하여 collet을 식용유코팅 할 경우, 코팅수율은 온도가 높아질수록 증가하다가 $60^{\circ}C$부터는 거의 일정한 값을 보였으며, 파손율은 온도가 높아질수록 지속적으로 증가하였다. Tumbler 속도를 60-100 rpm으로 조건을 변화하여 collet을 식용유코팅 할 경우, 코팅수율은 속도가 빨라질수록 증가하다가 80 rpm을 기점으로 거의 일정한 값을 나타내었으며, 파손율은 80 rpm 까지는 미미하게 증가하다가 90 rpm 부터는 급격히 증가하였다. 코팅시간을 2-6분으로 조건을 변화하여 collet을 식용유코팅 할 경우, 코팅수율은 시간이 경과할수록 증가하다가 5분 이상이 되면 다시 감소하였으며, 파손율은 4분까지는 미미하게 증가하다가 5분 이상이 되면 급격히 증가하였다. 혼합조미분말코팅 시, 혼합조미분말 사용량을 2-6%로 조건을 변화하여 식용유코팅 collet을 혼합조미분말코팅 할 경우, 코팅수율은 증가하다가 사용량 5%이상에서는 오히려 감소하였으며, 파손율은 사용량이 증가할 때 미미하게 증가하다가 사용량 4% 이상에서는 거의 일정한 값을 보였다. Tumbler 온도를 $40-80^{\circ}C$로 조건을 변화하여 식용유코팅 된 collet을 혼합조미분말코팅 할 경우, 코팅수율은 $60^{\circ}C$까지는 증가하였으나 $60^{\circ}C$이상에서는 오히려 감소하였으며, 파손율은 온도가 높아질수록 지속적으로 증가하였다. Tumbler 속도를 50-90 rpm으로 조건을 변화하여 식용유코팅 된 collet을 혼합조미분말코팅 할 경우, 코팅수율은 속도가 증가할수록 높아지다가 70 rpm을 기점으로 감소하였으며, 파손율은 속도의 증가에 따라 미미하게 높아지다가 70 rpm 부터는 급격하게 증가하였다. 코팅시간을 2-6분으로 조건을 변화하여 식용유코팅 된 collet을 혼합조미분말코팅 할 경우, 코팅수율은 3분까지는 증가하다가 4분 이후에는 감소하였으며, 파손율은 코팅시간의 경과에 따라 지속적이고 급격히 증가하였다. 따라서 식용유코팅은 tumbler 온도 $60^{\circ}C$ tumbler 속도 80 rpm 코팅시간 4분 식용유 사용량 20%, 혼합조미분말코팅은 tumbler 온도 $50^{\circ}C$ tumbler 속도 70 rpm 코팅시간 3분 혼합조미분말 사용량 3%로 각각 설정하여 스낵을 제조하는 것이 가장 바람직하다고 판단되었다.

Spin-coating에 의한 $Ge_{20}As_{20}Se_{60}$ 비정질 chalcogenide 박막의 제조 및 광특성 분석 (Preparation and Characterization of $Ge_{20}As_{20}Se_{60}$ Amorphous Chalcogenide Thin Film by Spin Coating)

  • Amorphous Ge20As20Se60 chalcogenide thin films were prepared by spin coating technique from mixed solutions of As40Se60 and Ge40Se60 dissolved in ethylenediamine. Films were prepared at a roating speed of 3500 rpm and spinning time was 10 second and heat-treateed at 27$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The resulting film thickness and RMS roughness were approximately 340 nm and 15$\AA$. Photostructure changes were investigated with 514.5nm Ar+ laser irradiation and heat-treatment. After Ar+ laser irradiation, transmittance and transmission efficiency decreased respectively up to 24.9% at 2.43 eV and 67.5% at 3.27 eV, and absorption edge shifted toward long wavelength. Optical bandgap changed from 2.03 to 1.83 eV, and absoprtion coefficient and absorption efficiency increased up to 0.33$\times$105cm-1 at 3.37eV and 88.3% at 1.31 eV, respectively. These photodarkening state were recovered reversibly by heat-treatment at 27$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. Photodarkening and thermal bleaching effects by laser irradiation and heat-treatment revealed reversible amorphous-to-amorphous transition varying only coordination number.

AlTiN코팅공구를 사용한 플라스틱금형강의 기계가공성 평가 (Machinability Evaluation of the Plastic Mould Steel using AlTiN Coated Tool)

  • In this research, KP-4, one of the plastic mold steels, was coated with the AlTiN from one layer to four layers by the PVD method in the $\Phi$ 8mm cemented carbide ball end mill. Coated KP-4 was processed with various conditions. For example, slope of $15^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$ the spindle rotation speed was changed from 10,000rpm to 16,000rpm, the tool feeding speed was changed from 1,300mm/min to 1,700mm/min, the depth of cut was also changed from 0.3mm to 0.9mm, and etc. Cutting component force according to the coating layer number, and surface roughness were studied. The cutting component force showed a good agreement better the up ward direction than the down ward direction under all experimental conditions. In case of the condition per the material shape, it was lessen when the tool have larger angle because the average effective diameter of the tool is larger. The surface roughness showed good condition in case of the up ward than the down ward direction. And, in the 3rd layer of AlTiN coating, it showed the most suitable condition.

PVC 대체를 위한 열가소성 폴리에스테르 탄성중합체 코팅사 연구(1) (Study on Thermoplastic Polyester Elastomer Coated Yarn for Replacing PVC Coated Yarn(1))

  • This paper investigated the applicability of polyester yarn coating using ther- moplastic polyester elastomer (TPEE) to replace polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coated yarn for blinds fabric. For this purpose, suitable TPEE for yarn coating was selected by measuring thermal and rheological properties and the yarn coating process conditions were investigated by changing variables such as extrusion temperature, die and nipple dimensions, take-up speed, and core yarn denier. TPEE coated yarns with a diameter of 0.3 and 0.4 mm were prepared, respectively. Tensile properties and cross-section uniformity revealed by a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of the TPEE coated yarn were analyzed. Among several candidates, TPEE having a melt index of 35 and melting temperature of 153℃ was the most suitable for replacing PVC, and the opti- mum coating conditions for the TPEE coating yarn were a head temperature of 170℃ and core yarn denier of 420 denier. The selected TPEE coated yarns have enough ten- sile strength and uniformity to replace present PVC coated yarns, certified by SEM photograph.
