철기(Fe Based) 나노결정질 합금 분말코어의 코팅제 및 입도가 연자기적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Coating Agent and Particle Size on the Soft Magnetic Properties of Fe Based Nano Crystalline Alloy Powder Core)

  • 본 연구는 철기(Fe based) $Fe_{73.5}Si_{13.5}B_9Nb_3Cu_1$ 나노결정 합금의 분말코어(powder core)의 연자기적 특성 향상을 위한 기초연구로서, 절연 코팅제의 첨가량 및 분말입도에 따른 투자율, 코어손실 및 DC 바이어스 특성을 주로 조사하였다. 우선 합금조성을 PFC 장치를 이용하여 비정질 합금리본을 제조한 후, 열처리, 미분쇄 및 분급하여 얻어진 합금분말에 절연 코팅제(PEI)의 첨가량을 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 2.5 wt%로 변화시켜 $16ton/cm^2$으로 압축성형 및 결정화 열처리하여 제조한 토로이달 나노결정 분말코어($OD12.7mm{\times}ID7.62mm{\times}H4.75mm$)는 절연 코팅제 함량이 증가할수록 투자율은 감소하였지만, 코어손실 및 DC 바이어스 특성은 향상됨을 확인하였다. 이러한 이유는 합금분말 절연 코팅제 첨가량이 증가할수록 비정질 합금분말 입자가 적어져 분말코어의 성형밀도가 낮아지기 때문으로 추정되었으며, 절연 코팅제의 함량은 1 wt%가 가장 적합한 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 절연 코팅제 함량을 1 wt%로 고정하고, 합금분말의 입도에 따라 제조한 분말코어의 경우, 실효투자율 및 코어손실은 입도가 클수록 우수하였지만, DC 바이어스 특성은 인가자장이 증가함에 따라 더욱 나빠짐을 확인하였다. 그 이유는 합금분말 표면의 코팅층 두께 차이에 의한 절연효과, 잔류기공 혹은 분말코어의 성형밀도 차이 등에 기인하는 것으로 추정되었다.

  • Heavy duty coating are required to have minimum durable period of 15 years under average usage environment because these paints are coated with purpose of anti-corrosion, antifouling, plastering etc. Onto steel structures constructed upon land and sea and other ferrous structures of electric power generation plants, electricity transmission towers, large structures of various plants, etc. Therefore we tried to estimate heavy duty coating longevity through reliability evaluation method and used combined cyclic anti-conrrosion test method composed of drying, moisturizing and salt spray as for accelerated life test to estimate longevity. Accelerated life test hours to heavy duty coating of first grade (with longevity not less than 15 years) specification may be obtained from troubleless test hours $t_n=\frac{B_p}{n^{1/\beta}}\left[\frac{1n(1-CL)}{1n(1-p)} \right]^{1/\beta}=19.671$ (yr) where shape parameter $\beta=1.1$, confidence level CL=80 %, warranty life $B_{10}=15$ yr and sampling size n=10 (2 sets). Because acceleration factor {AF} found by accelerated test is 41.7, accelerated life test hours required may be represented about 4,132 hr so that if this amount of hours is converted to number of cycles(6 hr/cycle) of complex cycle corrosion resistance test then the amount is tantamount about 690 cycles. That means if there does not occur trouble failure (with defect factor sum not more than 20) during when there is performed 690 cycles of combined cyclic anti-corrosion test to heavy duty coating specimen then it signifies that there can be warranted longevity $B_{10}$ of 15 yr under condition of confidence level CL=80 %.

Polyurethane-Coated Breast Implants Revisited: A 30-Year Follow-Up

  • Background Polyurethane coating of breast implants has been shown to reduce capsular contracture in short-term follow-up studies. This 30-year study is the longest examination of the use of polyurethane-coated implants and their correlation with capsular contracture. Methods This study evaluates the senior surgeon's (F.D.P.) experience with the use of polyurethane-coated implants in aesthetic breast augmentation in 382 patients over 30 years. Follow-up evaluations were conducted for six months after surgery. After the six-month follow-up period, 76 patients returned for reoperation. The gross findings, histology, and associated capsular contracture were noted at the time of explantation. Results No patient during the six-month follow-up period demonstrated capsular contracture. For those who underwent reoperation for capsular contracture, Baker II/III contractures were noted nine to 10 years after surgery and Baker IV contractures were noted 12 to 21 years after surgery. None of the explanted implants had macroscopic evidence of polyurethane, which was only found during the first five years after surgery. The microscopic presence of polyurethane was noted in all capsules up to 30 years after the original operation. Conclusions An inverse correlation was found between the amount of polyurethane coating on the implant and the occurrence of capsular contracture. Increasingly severe capsular contracture was associated with a decreased amount of polyurethane coating on the surface of the implants. No contracture occurred in patients whose implants showed incomplete biodegradation of polyurethane, as indicated by the visible presence of polyurethane coating. We recommend research to find a non-toxic, non-biodegradable synthetic material as an alternative to polyurethane.

나노 크기의 Gd2O3:Eu3+ 적색형광체가 코팅된 판상 Mica의 제조 및 형광특성 (Preparation of Nanosized Gd2O3:Eu3+ Red Phosphor Coated on Mica Flake and Its Luminescent Property)

  • Nanosized $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ red phosphor is prepared using a template method from metal salt impregnated into a crystalline cellulose and is dispersed using a bead mill wet process. The driving force of the surface coating between $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ and mica is induced by the Coulomb force. The red phosphor nanosol is effectively coated on mica flakes by the electrostatic interaction between positively charged $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ and negatively charged mica above pH 6. To prepare $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$-coated mica ($Gd_2O_3:Eu/mica$), the coating conditions are optimized, including the stirring temperature, pH, calcination temperature, and coating amount (wt%) of $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$. In spite of the low luminescence of the $Gd_2O_3:Eu/mica$, the luminescent property is recovered after calcination above $600^{\circ}C$ and is enhanced by increasing the $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ coating amount. The $Gd_2O_3:Eu/mica$ is characterized using X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, zeta potential measurements, and fluorescence spectrometer analysis.

스폰지 복제법을 이용한 Ag 코팅 BCP 지지체의 제조 및 평가 (Fabrication and Characterization of Ag-coated BCP Scaffold Derived from Sponge Replica Process)

  • As a starting material, BCP (biphasic calcium phosphate) nano powder was synthesized by a hydrothermal microwave-assisted process. A highly porous BCP scaffold was fabricated by the sponge replica method using 60 ppi (pore per inch) of polyurethane sponge. The BCP scaffold had interconnected pores ranging from $100\;{\mu}m$ to $1000\;{\mu}m$, which were similar to natural cancellous bone. To realize the antibacterial property, a microwave-assisted nano Ag spot coating process was used. The morphology and distribution of nano Ag particles were different depending on the coating conditions, such as concentration of the $AgNO_3$ solution, microwave irradiation times, etc. With an increased microwave irradiation time, the amount of coated nano Ag particles increased. The surface of the BCP scaffold was totally covered with nano Ag particles homogeneously at 20 seconds of microwave irradiation time when 0.6 g of $AgNO_3$ was used. With an increased amount of $AgNO_3$ and irradiation time, the size of the coated particles increased. Antibacterial activities of the solution extracted from the Ag-coated BCP scaffold were examined against gram-negative (Escherichia coli) and gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus). When 0.6 g of $AgNO_3$ was used for coating the Ag-coated scaffold, it showed higher antibacterial activities than that of the Ag-coated scaffold using 0.8 g of $AgNO_3$.

Physical stability of arginine-glycine-aspartic acid peptide coated on anodized implants after installation

  • PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to evaluate the stability of arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD) peptide coatings on implants by measuring the amount of peptide remaining after installation. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Fluorescent isothiocyanate (FITC)-fixed RGD peptide was coated onto anodized titanium implants (width 4 mm, length 10 mm) using a physical adsorption method (P) or a chemical grafting method (C). Solid Rigid Polyurethane Foam (SRPF) was classified as either hard bone (H) or soft bone (S) according to its density. Two pieces of artificial bone were fixed in a customized jig, and coated implants were installed at the center of the boundary between two pieces of artificial bone. The test groups were classified as: P-H, P-S, C-H, or C-S. After each installation, implants were removed from the SRPF, and the residual amounts and rates of RGD peptide in implants were measured by fluorescence spectrometry. The Kruskal-Wallis test was used for the statistical analysis (${\alpha}$=0.05). RESULTS. Peptide-coating was identified by fluorescence microscopy and XPS. Total coating amount was higher for physical adsorption than chemical grafting. The residual rate of peptide was significantly larger in the P-S group than in the other three groups (P<.05). CONCLUSION. The result of this study suggests that coating doses depend on coating method. Residual amounts of RGD peptide were greater for the physical adsorption method than the chemical grafting method.

콜로이드 실리카와 알콕시 실란의 솔-젤 코팅제 합성과 특성 (Properties of Sol-Gel Materials Synthesized from Colloidal Silica and Alkoxy Silanes)

  • 콜로이드 실리카 종류, 콜로이드 실리카/실란의 함량비, 반응시간 등의 반응조건에 따라 두 종류의 콜로이드 실리카/실란 솔을 합성하였다. 이러한 졸을 이용하여 솔-젤 코팅막을 제조하여 물리적 화학적 특성을 조사하였다. 그 결과 1034A콜로이드 실리카계로부터 얻어진 솔-젤 코팅막의 접촉각과 표면균질성은 HSA계 솔-젤 코팅막에 비하여 우수하였다. 그리고 1034A 콜로이드 실리카계로부터 얻어진 솔-젤 코팅막은 $550^{circ}C$까지 열분해없이 안정하였고 methyltrimeth-oxysilane(MTMS) 함량이 증가할수록 코팅막의 두께가 두꺼워 졌다. 1034A 콜로이드 실리카계 솔-젤 코팅막의 경도는 MTMS의 함량 증가에 따라 감소하였으나 HSA계는 큰 영향을 받지 않았다. 표면에너지는 MTMS 함량 증가와 더불어 전반적으로 감소하는 경향을 보였다.

  • 플라즈마 용사법을이용하여 AISI 316 스테인레스 금속모재에 0.1mm 두께의 $NiCrAlCoY_{2}O_{3}$금속 결합층과 0.3mm 두께의 $ZrO_{2}(8wt%Y_{2}O_3$) 세라믹층으로 구성된 이층 단열코팅층을 제조하였다. 코팅층의 미세조직, 금속결합층의 산화를 고찰하였으며, $900^{\circ}C$에서 등은 시험과 열반복시험 후, 접합강도시험을 통하여 코팅층의 단사정 상은 열처리시간이 길어질수록 약간 증가하였다. 또한 비변태성 t'의 c/a는 용사상태에서 1.0099이였으며, 100시간 열처리 후에는 1.0115로 약간 증가하였다. 그리고 용사층의 접합강도는 열처리 시간이 길어질수록 감소하였다. 등온열처리 후에는 1.0115로 약간 증가하였다. 그리고 용사층 의 접합강도는 열처리 시간이 길어질수록 감소하였다. 등온열처리 후, 파괴는 주로 세라믹층에서 일어났으며, 반복 열처리되 시편에서는 10회 이후 대부분 금속결합층/세라믹층의 계면에서 일어났다.

A365 알루미늄합금의 유동도에 미치는 진공흡입조형 조건의 영향 (The Effects of Vacuum-Molding Process Conditions on the Fluidity of A356 Alloy)

  • The vacuum molding process is one of the clean-foundry molding-processes that can recycle molding sands repeatedly, because molding can be accomplished by introducing vacuum only among dry molding sands in flask. The effects of molding conditions such as sand grain fineness, vacuum pressure and coating thickness on the fluidity of A356 Al alloy were studied and the results was obtained that the fluidity length was decreased as the sand grain fineness number and coating thikness were decreased and the vacuum pressure was increased. A large amount of heat removal from the molten metal resulting from the vacuum suction during the vacuum molding process was the principal cause of this decrease in fluidity.

무전해 Ni 복합도금 과정에서 분말의 공석기구에 대한 연구(II) (A Study on the Mechanism for the Formation of Partices in electroless Ni Composite Coating(II))

  • Mechanism of formation of electroless composite coatings is similar to that of electrodeposited composite coating, but the amount of particles entraped in electroless coating is higher that the one of electrodeposited coatings. The methol of entrapment by the metal for SiC and Al2O3 particles is different from that for WC particles. In the former case the particles are gracually engulfed by the depositing metal, wheran with WC a metal envelope is rapidly fomed around each particles. This difference can be attributed to the difference in electrical resistivity of the particles. Inclusion density of SiC and Al2O3 particles during copeposition depend on the particle size, agitation condition, vabration conditions and electrolyte temperatures.
