Experimental study for supersonic co-flowing fluidic thrust vectoring control utilizing the secondary flow is performed. The characteristics of the thrust vectoring of two dimensional supersonic flow (Mach 2.0) are studied by Schlieren flow visualization and highly-accurate multi-component force measurements using the load cells. It is observed that the thrust deflection angle initially decreases and increases again forming a V-shaped variation as the pressure of the secondary flow increases. Characteristics of the performance coefficients of the system are also studied, and the detailed operating conditions for higher performance of the technique are suggested.
High lifting devices used for control purposes have received much attention in the marine field. Hydrofoils for supporting the hull, roll stabilizer fins for developing the motion damping performance, rudders for maneuverability are the well-known devices. In the present study, the ability of the rudder with flap to produce high lift was analyzed. The boundary layer control, one of the flow control techniques, was adopted. Especially, to build the blown flap, a typical and representative type of a boundary layer control, a flapped rudder was designed and manufactured so that it could eject the water jet from the gap between the main foil and the flap to the flap surface tangentially. And it was tested in the towing tank. Simultaneously, to know the information about the 2-dimensional flow field, a fin model with similar characteristics as the rudder model applicable for the motion control was made and tested in the cavitation tunnel. In addition, local flow measurements were carried out to obtain physical information, for example, a surface pressure measurement and flow visualization around the flap. And CFD simulation was used to obtain information difficult to collect from the experiment about the 2-dimensional flow.

Recently, fluidic thrust vectoring methods have been preferably employed to control the movement of propulsive systems due to relatively simpler design and lower cost than mechanical thrust vectoring methods. For An application of the thrust vectoring to flight bodies, it is necessary to understand very complicated exhaust flows which are often subject to shock waves and boundary layer separation. But researches for the thrust vector control using counterflow have been few. In the present study, experiments have been performed to investigate the characteristics of supersonic jets controlled by a thrust vectoring method using counterflow. The primary jet is expanded through a two-dimensional primary nozzle shrouded by collars, and is deflected by the suction of the air near nozzle into an upper slot placed between the primary nozzle and the upper collar. A shadowgraph method is used to visualize the supersonic jet flowfields. Primary nozzle pressure ratios and suction nozzle pressure ratios are varied from 3.0 to 5.0, and from 0.2 to 1.0 respectively. The present experimental results showed that, for a given primary nozzle pressure ratio, a decrease in the suction nozzle pressure ratio produced an increased thrust vector angle. As the suction nozzle pressure ratios were increased and decreased, the hysteresis of the thrust vectoring was observed through the wall pressure distributions

An experimental investigation was conducted to investigate the heat/mass transfer for impingement/effusion cooling system with inclined jet. Jets with inclined angle of 60 are applied to impingement/effusion cooling. At the jet Reynolds number of 10,000, the experiments were carried out for blowing ratios ranging from 0.0 to 1.5. The local heat/mass transfer coefficients on the effusion plate are measured using a naphthalene sublimation method. The result indicates that the inclined jet causes the non-uniform and low heat/mass transfer compared to the vertical jet. At stagnation region, the peak position is shifted from the geometrical center of injection hole due to Coanda effect and its level is higher than that of vertical jet due to increase in turbulence intensity by steep velocity gradient near the stagnation region. Further, the secondary peak region disappears because the interaction between adjacent wall jets weakens. When the initial crossflow occurs, the distorted heat/mass transfer pattern appears. As the blowing ratio (crossflow rate) increases, the heat/mass transfer distributions become similar to those of the vertical jet. This is because the effect of crossflow is dominant compared to that of inclined jet under high blowing ratio $(M{\geq}1.0)$. At low blowing ratio $(M{\leq}0.5)$, averaged Sh value is 10% lower than that of vertical jet, whereas its value at high blowing ratio $(M{\geq}1.0)$ is similar to that of vertical jet.

Axisymmetric shear layers around a free jet is forced by co-flowing and counter-flowing secondary jets from/to an annular tube around the jet nozzle. The jet potential core extends far downstream with co-flowing secondary jets due to inhibited vortex developing and pairing. For counter-flowing cases, the axisymmetric shear layer around the jet transits from convective instability to absolute instability for velocity ratios R=1.3~l.65 for the uniform velocity jets. Consequently, the jet potential core length increases and the turbulence level in the jet core is reduced significantly. The jets are controlled better with extension collars attached to the outer nozzle exit because the annular secondary flow is guided well by the extension collars. For the vectoring of jet, the annular tube around the jet is divided in two parts and the only one part is used for suction. The half suction makes the different shear layer around the jet and vectoring the jet by Coanda effect. The vectoring and turbulent components are varied significantly by the suction ratio. The experiments are carried out to investigate the characteristics of forced free jets using flow visualization, velocity and turbulence measurements.

In this study, a noble method is proposed to prevent the edge overcoating (EOC) that may develop near the edge of the steel strip in the gas wiping process of continuous hot-dip galvanizing. In our past study (Trans. of the KSME (B), Vol. 27, No. 8, pp. $1105\~1113$), it was found that EOC is caused by the alternating vortices which are generated by the collision of two opposed jets in the region outside the steel strip. When the two opposed jets collide at an angle much less than $180^{o}$, non-alternating stable vortices are established symmetrically outside the steel strip, which lead to nearly uniform pressure on the strip surface. In order to deflect both jets downward by a certain angle, a cylinder with small diameter is installed tangentially to the exit of the lower lip of the two-dimensional jet. In order to find an optimum cylinder diameter, the three dimensional flow field is analysed numerically by using the commercial code, STAR-CD. And the coating thickness is calculated by using an integral analysis method to solve the boundary layer momentum equation. In order to compare the present noble method with the conventional baffle plate method to prevent the EOC, the flow field with a baffle plate is also calculated. The calculation results show that the tangentially installed cylinder at the bottom lip of the jet exit is more effective than the baffle plate to prevent EOC.

This paper suggests possible rear body shape modifications of a passenger car for the improvement of aerodynamic performance, based on the CFD analysis results. YF SONATA, a passenger car of Hyundai Motors Company, plays a major role as the baseline car in this research. Representatively, three parts(trunk rear edge, side rear edge and rear undercover) are modified in a small range in order for the total outer shapes not to be changed enough so that the modified car is not considered different, compared with the baseline. Specifically, using computational fluid dynamics, aerodynamic drag reduction is accomplished maximally about 11% in this research. Finally, it is proved that although the range of changes of the rear body shapes of a passenger car is very strictly confined, by changing a small range of rear body shapes alone the enhancement of aerodynamic performance of a passenger car can be significantly accomplished.

As science advances, the gathering and sharing of information has become easier, and the spreading speed of information is increasing through the internet and smart phones. Enormous wealth creation around the world from the rapid spread of knowledge of products is possible, which can have a significant impact in a country's economic revival. On the other hand, to develop these ideas, many products are difficult for ordinary people to use with the current techniques. Therefore, new techniques to develop hit products are needed. This thesis identified the limitations of previous invention processes or technique, This invention technique was made by finding ideas and fundamentals hidden in the innovative products. The results obtained from the analysis of a kind and pictograms were combined, and symbolized by the present invention technique that would be for anyone to master. Furthermore, a hair dryer that utilizes electromagnetic waves of the inventograms was developed.
A bag filter collector is a kind of air purifier that organizes several or dozens of filters to purify fine dust and release clean air into the atmosphere. If the bag filter length is less than 5m, the dust and fume attached to the bag filter could be effectively removed by passing the compressed air generated by the diaphragm valve through the venturi. Injectors that are more efficient and economical are urgently needed to achieve satisfactory results for long-bag exhaustion of more than 7 meters. In the case of existing domestic and foreign injectors, a number of blow tubes were dismantled during maintenance, and the injector and blow tube were combined to pose a number of problems, including inconvenience of work due to weight increase. In this study, injector flow for the development of the best use of interpretation of the coanda effect and the fourth round of industrial technology Intelligent automation of exhaustion, have been engineered energy than standard equipment. lowering costs and filter life to radically improve the commercial studies.

Flow behaviors of the open channel type flow with its geometric boundary conditions being similar to that of the Multi-Stage-Flash evaporator were studied qualitatively by measuring the velocity distribution. Without a baffle, the flow was in the shape of a simple submerged plane wall jet. At the downstream of this flow, the jet boundary made sharp curve toward the free surface ; this is because the entrainment of the ambient liquid is restricted by the free surface boundary, similar to the Coanda effect. According to the experimental results the level of the free surface appeared to be the most important parameter. The flow with a baffle was in much complicated shape ; especially the recirculating region at the downstream free surface was detected according to the experimental conditions imposed. Inlet liquid velocity, heights of the liquid level and the baffle, and the opening heights of sluice gate of the entrance were the most important parameters in the baffle flow.
