내부열교환기 및 전자팽창장치를 적용한 가변속 이산화탄소 사이클의 냉방성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Cooling Performance of a Variable Speed $CO_2$ Cycle with Internal Heat Exchanger and Electronic Expansion Valve)

  • Since a transcritical $CO_2$ cycle shows lower performance than conventional air conditioners in the cooling mode operation, it is required to enhance the performance of the $CO_2$ cycle by applying advanced technologies and optimizing components. In this study, the cooling performance of a $CO_2$ system measured by varying refrigerant charge amount, compressor frequency, EEV opening and length of internal heat exchanger. As a result, the cooling COP of the basic system without internal heat exchanger was 2.1. The cooling performance of the modified cycle applying internal heat exchanger improved by $4-9\%$ over the basic cycle.

  • This study aim at demonstrating the environmental performance of freight transport of the rail and road mode through an indicator of embodied energy and $CO_2$ emissions. Using the concept of LCA, the scope of evaluation includes energy production, supply chain activity and operation. The results of embodied energy and $CO_2$ emissions are normalized by means of traffic volume. The results shown that embodied $CO_2$ emissions road mode is 607.07 $gCO_2-eq./tkm$ and 284.67 $gCO_2-eq./tkm$ for road and rail mode, respectively. This number reveals that road mode is 2.1 times larger than rail mode. The results also indicate that the main contribution of $CO_2$ emission from road mode is in the operation stage, which accounts for 70%; however, it is the construction and supply chain stage that accounts for over 50% of the emission of rail mode.

  • Nonvolatile FRAMs with a design rule of 0.18 ${\mu}m$ were developed for the high performance smart card. A 1Mb FRAM was embedded in place of an EEPROM and a 64Kb FRAM was embedded in place of a. SRAM. It was confirmed that the FRAMs performed the roles of the EEPROM and SRAM successfully using the asynchronous write/read operation method and the one time programming (OTP) scheme. The cycle time of the FRAM was 10 MHz, which remarkably improved the write performance of the smart card in comparison with that of the conventional smart card with an EEPROM. Additionally, a simple and smart bit-line reference scheme for the future FRAM device having a 1T1C cell type was proposed.

  • The co-firing processes for the supported type planar solid oxide fuel cell were investigated. A flat cell of $7.7${\times}$10.8\textrm{cm}^2$ was fabricated successfully by the co-firing process, in which green films were co-sintered in the forms of two layers of anode/electrolyte or of three layers of anode/electrolyte/cathode with gas distributor. A co-fired cell of two layers yielded a power of 200 ㎽/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 608 ㎷. Its performance loss was mainly due to iR drop in the anodic gas distributor, which was attributed to poor contact between anodic gas distributor and current collector. The performance in the co-fired cell of three layers was much lower than that of two layers, which resulted from the large iR drop and activation overvoltage at the cathodic side. In the co-fired cell of two layers, the impedance analysis indicated that the performance decay during cell operation is due to both anode overvoltage and iR drop at anode side. Also the electrode reaction of the co-fired two layers' cell is considered to be controlled by activation overvoltage within the low current of 50 ㎃.

  • This paper describes the evaluation methods and criteria used verify field performance of automatic multi-coupler for the PMC rolling stock. Automatic multi-coupler was designed and manufactured by KRRI , Woojin electric machinery CO., and Yujinchajeon MFG.CO., LTD in 1999. Through field performance test of PMC rolling stock, vibration, brake system, assembly and disassembly of complex train were measured on the condition of service operation. As a result, test results meet the criteria proposed by KNR and KRRI.

  • Recently study on components for a electric golf car and a utility car driven by a electric motor has been performed actively, and the study on a drive motor, a inverter and a battery focuses on a small, light weight and high power density source to improve fuel efficiency using limited electric energy. Especially, since a utility car such as a golf car performance depends on initial acceleration and maximum speed capability, a drive system requires high power and large and wide operation area, This study therefore investigates on the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with high power density and wide operation, and is verified with the test result after design and characteristic analysis is performed.

  • A standard engineering model that reflects the current organization system and engineering operation process of domestic nuclear power plants was developed based on the Standard Nuclear Performance Model developed by the American Nuclear Energy Association. The level 0 screen, which is the main screen of the engineering model computer system, consisted of an object tree structure, which provided information that is phased down from a higher structure level to a lower structure level (i.e., level 3). The level 1 screen provided information related to the sub-process of the engineering operation, whereas the Level 2 screen provided information related to each engineering operation activity. In addition, the Level 2 screen provided additional functions, such as linking electronic procedures/guidelines, providing electronic performance forms, and connecting legacy computer systems (such as total equipment reliability monitoring system, configuration management systems, technical information systems, risk monitoring systems, regulatory information, and electronic drawing system). This screen level increased the convenience of user's engineering tasks by implementing them. The computerization of an engineering model that connects the entire engineering tasks of an establishment enables the easy understanding of information related to the engineering process before and after the operation, and builds a foundation for the enhancement of the work efficiency and employee capacity. In addition, KHNP developed an online training module, which operates as an e-learning process, on the overview and utilization of a standard engineering model to expand the understanding of standard engineering models by plant employees and to secure competitiveness.

  • A $CO_2$ heat pump system was designed for both cooling and heating in the cabin of electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles or fuel cell vehicles, In this study, the performance characteristics of the heat pump system without any supplementary heating device were analyzed and the heating performance was compared with the cooling performance for various operating conditions. Experiments were carried out by changing the speed of electric drive compressor, the air flow rate of interior heat exchanger and the air inlet temperature and speed of exterior heat exchanger. Therefore, the cooling/heating capacities and the corresponding COPs are quantified. Also, the heat pump system showed an improved performance for the cooling operation and the heating operation. In this study, the experimental results can be used to evaluate the effect of system design changes on system performance as well as the development of a highly efficient heat pump system.

  • This paper proposes a design and fabrication of the test equipment that is implemented as a part of the airborne tracking radar inspection under the environment of indoor simulation. This test equipment provides controlling the operation status of airborne tracking radar and replicating the velocity and range information of target by generating a variety of target signal. This is mainly composed of radar operation controller, target signal generator, horn antenna driving devices. Radar operation controller is able to perform the controlling of radar operation mode and monitoring in real time by serial communication. Target signal generator is generated doppler signal and range delayed signal using virtual target of RF-band. Horn antenna driving devices perform a role of target simulating exercise. In the end, the performance is demonstrated using experiment results of test equipment for airborne tracking radar.
