This paper presents a 'consequence analysis' for vapor cloud explosions caused by heavy gas leakages from commercially used storage tanks at petrochemical plants. Particularly, this paper emphasizes on evaluating the results of various vapor cloud explosion accidents from Butane storage tanks. Also this paper analyses the impact of variables on the accidents in order to acquire the optimum conditions for variables. $SuperChems^{TM}$ Professional Edition was applied to analyse the impact (If atmospheric and other variables in the situation where vapor cloud continuously disperses from the ground level. Under the assumption that practical operating conditions are selected as a standard condition, and Butane leaks from the storage tank for 15 minutes, the results show that the maximum distance of LFL (Lower Flammable Limit) was 52 meters and overpressure by the vapor cloud explosion was 1 psi at 128.2 meters. It is observed that the impact of the variables on accidental Butane storage tank leakage mainly varied upon atmospheric stability, wind velocity, pipe line size, visible length, etc., and changes in the simulation result occurred as the variables varied. The maximum distance of the LFL (Lower Flammable Limit) increased as the visible length became shorter, the size of the leak became larger, the wind velocity was decreased, and the climatic conditions became more stable. Thus, by analysing the variables that influence the simulation results of explosions of Butane storage tanks containing heavy gases, I am presenting the most appropriate method for 'consequence analysis' and the selection of standards for suitable values of variables, to obtain the most optimal conditions for the best results.
Hydrogen is considered to be the most important future energy carrier in many applications reducing significantly greenhouse gas emissions, but the safety issues associated with hydrogen applications need to be investigated and fully understood to be applicable as the carrier. Therefore, there is a considerable demand for further research concerning the dispersion of hydrogen/air mixture clouds and the possible consequences of their ignition. In this study, the dispersion of hydrogen gas in atmosphere has been analysed with atmospheric condition by concerning the buoyancy of hydrogen. The hazard ranges to wind direction increase with wind speed and the stability of atmosphere. The concentration of hydrogen at just above ground is nearly zero due to buoyancy of hydrogen gas. Therefore, the ignition probability of hydrogen gas cloud is low and the hazard of explosion or fire associated with hydrogen gas is relatively low comparing with the other fuel gas such as propane or butane.

The goal of this paper is to provide performance improvement and stability for satellite data correction of some distortions due to cloud or radiance through distributed processing on cluster. To do this, we proposed and implemented SGE(Sun Grid Engine) based distributed processing methods using local storages and a status table. In the verification, the experiment result revealed that the proposed system on seven nodes improved the processing speed by 138.81% as compare to the existing system and provided good stability as well. This result showed that the proposed distributed processing work is more appropriate to process CPU bound jobs than I/O bound jobs. We expect that the proposed system will give scientists improved analysis performance in various fields and near-real time analysis services.
The present study investigated the forms and behaviors of fuel during intake and compression process, and the initial flame stability in a lean burn engine modified as a single cylinder engine equipped with quartz windows for visualization. PLIF(Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence) method with KrF Excimer laser was used for measuring the fuel distributions. The principal design concept of the lean burn nin in this study is the axial stratification in the fuel distribution via fuel injection during intake process and different shapes of intake ports; helical and straight. The experiments showed that fuel flowed in as a vapor state in the early part of intake process and lots of this mixture mated down along the intake valve side cylinder wall, but in the latter part, a lot of fuel flowed in as a liquid state and this fuel stayed in the upper part of cylinder, after that the dense fuel cloud moved upward in the early of part compression process. It became clear that the fuel flowed in via straight port had a important role in the axial fuel stratification.
Biodiesel is gaining more attractive due to its eco-friendly and the fact that it is prepared from renewable sources. It is monoalkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils and animal fats via transesterification reaction with alcohol in the presence of catalyst. This paper will review briefly (1) the effect of reaction conditions such as catalyst type, amount of free fatty acid and moisture, molar ratio of alcohol and oil, alcohol type, reaction temperature and time and stirring intesity, (2) downstream process of biodiesel after transesterification reaction, and (3) potentialities of biodiesel as an alternative fuel based on its properties in diesel engines.
Recently, the importance of big data has been emphasized with the development of smartphone, web/SNS. As a result, MapReduce, which can efficiently process big data, is receiving worldwide attention because of its excellent scalability and stability. Since big data has a large amount, fast creation speed, and various properties, it is more efficient to process big data summary information than big data itself. Wavelet histogram, which is a typical data summary information generation technique, can generate optimal data summary information that does not cause loss of information of original data. Therefore, a system applying a wavelet histogram generation technique based on MapReduce has been actively studied. However, existing research has a disadvantage in that the generation speed is slow because the wavelet histogram is generated through one or more MapReduce Jobs. And there is a high possibility that the error of the data restored by the wavelet histogram becomes large. However, since the wavelet histogram generation system based on the MapReduce developed in this paper generates the wavelet histogram through one MapReduce Job, the generation speed can be greatly increased. In addition, since the wavelet histogram is generated by adjusting the error boundary specified by the user, the error of the restored data can be adjusted from the wavelet histogram. Finally, we verified the efficiency of the wavelet histogram generation system developed in this paper through performance evaluation.

Among the network information services combined with a number of security technologies and required security policies, Infrastructure as a Service, a hardware plat-form service of Cloud Computing, has been provided since 2011. It is more or less similar to the existing central concentration method services, in terms of the specifications and technical aspects for given hardware category, but it is entirely different from them in that it overcomes the spatial limitations of specific network and targets the public network. Information security technology has also been prospering so that it could ensure the stability of offered hardware plat-forms. As currently supported hardware, Internet Data Center has been provided by virtualizing the previously offered servers and discs (backup discs), but the hardware plat-forms offered are somewhat limited. Meanwhile, the areas of security fields for offered services are confined to the center or include the TCP/IP-based SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) for the public network connected with clients, which shows that microscopic access security policies have been used. Therefore, this study was aimed to provide a realistic security mechanism for realizing defense policy, by expanding service areas into security devices and suggesting Diskless and Stateless security policy based high-speed synchronous network infrastructure.

Recently, as the number of IoT (Internet of Things) devices for personal or home intelligence increases, the need for unified control and cooperative utilization is required. This paper presents a novel idea, proposes methods for virtualizing Internet of Things (IoT) devices and hosting them on the home AP instead of relying on a cloud service or purchasing a new device to do so. For this, the process and profile of the IoT gadgets need to be virtualized into JavaScript-based objects. Then, to execute and control the instances of the virtualized IoT objects on the wireless AP, a novel instance management method and their interfaces are designed. The implementation and performance section demonstrates the proposed system's stability and operability by showing the stress test results while the wireless AP is running for its wireless routing.
In order to determine the prediction possibility of heavy rainfall, a variety of analyses was conducted by using three-dimensional data obtained from Korea Local Analysis and Prediction System (KLAPS) re-analysis data. Strong moisture convergence occurring around the time of the heavy rainfall is consistent with the results of previous studies on such continuous production. Heavy rainfall occurred in the cloud system with a thick convective clouds. The moisture convergence, temperature and potential temperature advection showed increase into the heavy rainfall occurrence area. The distribution of integrated liquid water content tended to decrease as rainfall increased and was characterized by accelerated convective instability along with increased buoyant energy. In addition, changes were noted in the various characteristics of instability indices such as K-index (KI), Showalter Stability Index (SSI), and lifted index (LI). The meteorological variables used in the analysis showed clear increases or decreases according to the changes in rainfall amount. These rapid changes as well as the meteorological variables changes are attributed to the surrounding and meteorological conditions. Thus, we verified that heavy rainfall can be predicted according to such increase, decrease, or changes. This study focused on quantitative values and change characteristics of diagnostic variables calculated by using numerical models rather than by focusing on synoptic analysis at the time of the heavy rainfall occurrence, thereby utilizing them as prognostic variables in the study of the predictability of heavy rainfall. These results can contribute to the identification of production and development mechanisms of heavy rainfall and can be used in applied research for prediction of such precipitation. In the analysis of various case studies of heavy rainfall in the future, our study result can be utilized to show the development of the prediction of severe weather.
We developed fog detection algorithm (KNU_FDA) based on the optical and textural properties of fog using satellite (COMS) and ground observation data. The optical properties are dual channel difference (DCD: BT3.7 - BT11) and albedo, and the textural properties are normalized local standard deviation of IR1 and visible channels. Temperature difference between air temperature and BT11 is applied to discriminate the fog from other clouds. Fog detection is performed according to the solar zenith angle of pixel because of the different availability of satellite data: day, night and dawn/dusk. Post-processing is also performed to increase the probability of detection (POD), in particular, at the edge of main fog area. The fog probability is calculated by the weighted sum of threshold tests. The initial threshold and weighting values are optimized using sensitivity tests for the varying threshold values using receiver operating characteristic analysis. The validation results with ground visibility data for the validation cases showed that the performance of KNU_FDA show relatively consistent detection skills but it clearly depends on the fog types and time of day. The average POD and FAR (False Alarm Ratio) for the training and validation cases are ranged from 0.76 to 0.90 and from 0.41 to 0.63, respectively. In general, the performance is relatively good for the fog without high cloud and strong fog but that is significantly decreased for the weak fog. In order to improve the detection skills and stability, optimization of threshold and weighting values are needed through the various training cases.
