  • In this paper, we describe the algorithms, EEG classification methods, and position data analysis methods using EEG and ADS1299 sensors. In addition, it is necessary to manage the amount of real-time data of location data and EEG data and to extract data efficiently. To do this, we explain the process of extracting important information from a vast amount of data through a cloud server. The electrical signals extracted from the brain are measured to determine the psychological state and health status, and the measured positions can be collected using the position sensor and triangulation method.

  • National Institute of Meteorological Sciences has conducted a total 54 cloud seeding experiments with a silver iodide and calcium chloride using aircrafts from 2008 to 2018. The goal of the experiments is to improve the techniques of precipitation enhancement in Korea. The cloud seeding experiments using the silver iodide and calcium chloride were 36 and 18 times, respectively. During the cloud seeding experiments of the silver iodide and calcium chloride, the average values of total cloud amount for two kinds of seeding materials were 9.6 for and 8.1, respectively. The cloud type with the highest occurrence was Nimbostratus (Ns)-Stratus (St) (58%) in the silver iodide cloud seeding experiment. It was Altostratus (As)-Stratocumulus (Sc) (44%) in the calcium chloride cloud seeding experiment. Compared to probability of obtaining cloud seeding effect of the experiments using a leased aircraft, the probability using an atmospheric research aircraft increased from 43% to 63% in the silver iodide cloud seeding experiment and from 29% to 75% in the calcium chloride cloud seeding experiment. However, the increasing tendency was only shown during the one year experiment (2018). To get the meaningful statistical tendency of the cloud seeding effects, it is needed to implement many experiments in several years. Further we have to more clearly understand the characteristics of clouds developing in Korea and implement the cloud seeding experiments under a variety of weather conditions in order to develop the optimized precipitation enhancement technology in Korea.

  • The Internet of Things (IoT) requires a new processing model that will allow scalability in cloud computing while reducing time delay caused by data transmission within a network. Such a model can be achieved by using resources that are closer to the user, i.e., by relying on edge computing (EC). The amount of IoT data also grows with an increase in the number of IoT devices. However, building such a flexible model within a heterogeneous environment is difficult in terms of resources. Moreover, the increasing demand for IoT services necessitates shortening time delay and response time by achieving effective load balancing. IoT devices are expected to generate huge amounts of data within a short amount of time. They will be dynamically deployed, and IoT services will be provided to EC devices or cloud servers to minimize resource costs while meeting the latency and quality of service (QoS) constraints of IoT applications when IoT devices are at the endpoint. EC is an emerging solution to the data processing problem in IoT. In this study, we improve the load balancing process and distribute resources fairly to tasks, which, in turn, will improve QoS in cloud and reduce processing time, and consequently, response time.

  • The research on meteorological data in Korea has been carried out but without much consistency and has been limited to some areas only. Of relatively more importance has been the area in the utilization of the solar energy, however, the measurement of the global solar horizontal irradiation has been quite limited. In the current study, the actually measured value of the global solar horizontal irradiation from the meteorological data and the theoretically calculated value of the global solar horizontal irradiation from the cloud amount will be analyzed comparatively. The method of analysis will employ the standard meteorological data drafted by the Korean Solar Energy Society, the standard meteorological data from the presently used simulation program and the corresponding results have been compared with the calculated value of the global solar horizontal irradiation from the cloud amount. The results of comparing the values obtained from MBE(Mean Bias Error), RMSE(Root Mean Squares for Error), t-Statistic methods and those from each of the standard meteorological data show that the actually measured value of the meteorological data which have been converted into standard meteorological data with the help of the ISO TRY method give the monthly average value of the global solar horizontal irradiation. These values compared with the monthly average value from the IWEC from the Department of Energy of the USA show that the value of the global solar horizontal irradiation in the USA is quite similar. In the case of the values obtained from calculation from the cloud amount, the weather data provided by TRNSYS, except only slight difference, which means that the actually measured values of the global solar horizontal irradiation are significant. This goes to show that in the case of Korea, the value of the global solar horizontal irradiation provided by the Korea Meteorological Administration is will be deemed correct.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish more rational and practical planning theory for amusementpark. It analyze and considerate the fluctuation of the people who come and use a Tong-Ch'on amusementpark. The results drawn from this research work are as follows ; There are considerable correlation between use fluctuation and some factors. The factors are season (spring, summer, autumn) as a time, temperature, cloud amount, duration of sunshine, weather (rainy day) as a climate and date (weekday, holiday) as a social system. The important variables are temperature, cloud amount, duration of sunshine and date (week day, holiday) to estimate the user of amusementpark. I can reduce the following two types of regression models. 1.${\log}_eY1=6.9114+0.1135TEM+0.00002_eSUM-0.4068WI+0.4316W3$ ($R^2=0.94$) 2. ${\log}_eY2=7.2069+0.1177TEM-0.0990CLO+0.488W3$ ($R^2=0.95$) Y ; Number of User TEM ; Temperature CLO ; Amount of cloud SUN ; Duration of Sunshine WI ; Weekday W3 ; Holiday Those model is inorder to estimate the user for management of Tong-Ch'on amusementpark and use on the computation of facility size for reconstruction. Besides the amusementpark, city park and outdoor recreation area could estimate of user throuth this method. But, I am not sure about the regression models because I didn't apply the regression models to the other amusementpark, city park or outdoor recreation area. Therefore, I think that this problem needs to study in the future.

  • The characteristics of solar resources in South Korea were analyzed by comparing the solar irradiance derived from COMS (Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite) with in-situ ground observation data (Pyranometer). Satellite-derived solar irradiance and in-situ observation showed general coincidence with correlation coefficient higher than 0.9, but the satellite observations tended to overestimate the radiation amount compared to the ground observations. Analysis of hourly and monthly irradiance showed that relatively large discrepancies between the satellite and ground observations exist after sunrise and during July~August period which were mainly attributed to uncertainties in the satellite retrieval such as large atmospheric optical thickness and cloud amount. But differences between the two observations did not show distinct diurnal or seasonal cycles. Analysis of regional characteristics of solar irradiance showed that differences between satellite and in-situ observations are relatively large in metrocity such as Seoul and coastal regions due to air pollution and sea salt aerosols which act to increase the uncertainty in the satellite retrieval. It was concluded that the satellite irradiance data can be used for assessment and prediction of solar energy resources overcoming the limitation of ground observations, although it still has various sources of uncertainty.

  • Cloud storage becomes a new trend that more and more users move their data to cloud storage servers (CSSs). To ensure the security of cloud storage, many cloud auditing schemes are proposed to check the integrity of users' cloud data. However, most of them are based on public key infrastructure, which leads to complex certificates management and verification. Besides, most existing auditing schemes are inefficient when user uploads a large amount of data or a third party auditor (TPA) performs auditing for multiple users' data on different CSSs. To overcome these problems, in this paper, we propose an efficient and secure auditing scheme based on identity-based cryptography. To relieve user's computation burden, we introduce a proxy, which is delegated to generate and upload homomorphic verifiable tags for user. We extend our auditing scheme to support auditing for dynamic data operations. We further extend it to support batch auditing in multiple users and multiple CSSs setting, which is practical and efficient in large scale cloud storage system. Extensive security analysis shows that our scheme is provably secure in random oracle model. Performance analysis demonstrates that our scheme is highly efficient, especially reducing the computation cost of proxy and TPA.

  • Cloud streets were successfully simulated by numerical model (RAMS) including an Isolated mountain near the coast, large sensible heat flux from the sea surface, uniform stratification and wind velocity with low Froude number (0.25) in the inflow boundary The well developed cloud streets between a pair of convective rolls are simulated at a level of 1 km over the sea. The following five results were obtained: 1) port the formation of the pair of convective rolls, both strong static instability and a topographically induced mechanical disturbance are strongly required at the same time. 2) Strong sensible heat flux from the sea surface is the main energy source of the pair of convective rolls, and the buoyancy caused by condensation in the cloud is negligibly small. 3) The pair o( convective rolls is a complex of two sub-rolls. One is the outer roll, which has a large radius, but weak circulation, and the other is the inner roll, which has a small radius, but strong circulation. The outer roll gathers a large amount of moisture by convergence in the lower marine boundary, and the inner roll transfers the convergent moisture to the upper boundary layer by strong upward motion between them. 4) The pair of inner rolls form the line-shaped cloud streets, and keep them narrow along the center-line of the domain. 5) Both by non-hydrostatic and by hydrostatic assumptions, cloud streets can be simulated. In our case, non-hydrostatic processes enhanced somewhat the formation of cloud streets. The horizontal size of the topography does not seem to be restricted to within the small scale where non-hydrostatic effects are important.

  • Mobile cloud computing is a technology that uses cloud services to overcome resource constrains of a mobile device, and it applies the computation offloading scheme to transfer a portion of a task which should be executed from a mobile device to the cloud. If the communication cost of the computation offloading is less than the computation cost of a mobile device, the mobile device commits a certain task to the cloud. The previous cost analysis models, which were used for separating functions running on a mobile device and functions transferring to the cloud, only considered the amount of data transfer and response time as the offloading cost. In this paper, we proposed a new task partitioning scheme that considers the frequency of function calls and data synchronization, during the cost estimation of the computation offloading. We also verified the energy efficiency of the proposed scheme by using experimental results.

  • The recent dissemination of cloud computing makes the amount of data storage to be increased and the cost of storing the data grow rapidly. Accordingly, data and service requests from users also increases the load on the cloud storage. There have been many works that tries to provide low-cost and high-performance schemes on distributed file systems. However, most of them have some weaknesses on performing parallel and random data accesses as well as data accesses of frequent small workloads. Recently, improving the performance of distributed file system based on caching technology is getting much attention. In this paper, we propose a CHPC(Cloud storage High-Performance Caching) framework, providing parallel caching, distributed caching, and proxy caching in distributed file systems. This study compares the proposed framework with existing cloud systems in regard to the reduction of the server's disk I/O, prevention of the server-side bottleneck, deduplication of the page caches in each client, and improvement of overall IOPS. As a results, we show some optimization possibilities on the cloud storage systems based on some evaluations and comparisons with other conventional methods.
