오프라인 프로그래밍을 위한 3차원 레이저 스캐닝 시스템 기반의 로봇 캘리브레이션 방법 개발 (Development of robot calibration method based on 3D laser scanning system for Off-Line Programming)

  • 로봇을 적용한 자동화 생산 라인에서 로봇 셋업 시 시뮬레이션을 통한 Off-Line Programming(OLP)과 로봇 캘리브레이션은 작업 시간을 단축하고 양산 전부터 생산 품질을 관리하기 위해 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 상용 3D 스캐너를 사용하여 생산 라인의 CAD 데이터와 현장의 3차원 측정 스캔 데이터를 정합하는 로봇 캘리브레이션 방법을 개발하였다. 제안한 방법은 Iterative Closest Point(ICP) 알고리즘을 통해 두 개의 3차원 점군 데이터를 정합하여 로봇을 교정한다. 정합은 3단계로 수행한다. 먼저 CAD 데이터로부터 3개의 평면으로 연결된 꼭짓점을 특징점으로 추출한다. 추출한 특징점 주변에 위치한 스캔 점군데이터로부터 평면을 재구성하여 대응하는 특징점을 생성한다. 마지막으로 ICP 알고리즘을 통해 추출한 특징점들 간의 거리를 최소화하여 위치 변환 행렬을 계산한다. 자동차 차체 조립라인의 스팟용접 로봇 설치에 제안한 방법을 적용한 결과 스팟용접에서 일반적으로 요구하는 정밀도 1.5mm 수준으로 로봇의 위치 및 자세를 캘리브레이션 할 수 있었으며, 기존에 레이저 트래커를 사용하면 로봇 한 대당 5시간 이상 소요되던 셋업 시간은 40분 이내로 단축할 수 있었다. 개발한 시스템을 사용하면 차체 스팟 용접에 필요한 정밀도를 유지하면서 자동차 차체 조립 라인의 OLP 작업시간을 단축하여, 로봇 정밀 티칭 시간을 단축하여, 생산제품의 품질 향상 및 불량률을 최소화할 수 있다.

Children's Mental Health in the Area Affected by the Hebei Spirit Oil Spill Accident

  • Objectives Children are one of the most vulnerable populations to the impact of disasters. We aimed to examine children's mental health in the area affected by the Hebei Spirit oil spill accident on December 7, 2007. Methods A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted using the Korean versions of the Children's Depression Inventory and State Anxiety Inventory for Children on 1,362 children attending elementary schools in the affected area. The information on distances between the nearest contaminated coastline to the child's residential house or attending school were obtained using a web-based map by inputting two address points. The symptom risks of depression and state anxiety were estimated by multiple logistic regression analyses adjusted for age, gender, and other covariates. Results Children with the closest distance (in the fourth quartile) to the school from the contaminated coastline showed a significantly higher symptom risk of depression compared to those with the farthest distance (first quartile)(odds ratio, 2.73; 95% confidence interval, 1.40-5.33), while there was no significant association between anxiety symptoms and distance. Conclusions Children, a vulnerable population for mental health impact by the oil spill accident, should be included in mental health programs in the community along with their family as victims of the disaster.

Clinical Uses of Diffusion Tensor Imaging Fiber Tracking Merged Neuronavigation with Lesions Adjacent to Corticospinal Tract : A Retrospective Cohort Study

  • Objective : To investigate the efficiency of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) fiber-tracking based neuronavigation and assess its usefulness in the preoperative surgical planning, prognostic prediction, intraoperative course and outcome improvement. Methods : Seventeen patients with cerebral masses adjacent to corticospinal tract (CST) were given standard magnetic resonance imaging and DTI examination. By incorporation of DTI data, the relation between tumor and adjacent white matter tracts was reconstructed and assessed in the neuronavigation system. Distance from tumor border to CST was measured. Results : The sub-portion of CST in closest proximity to tumor was found displaced in all patients. The chief disruptive changes were classified as follows : complete interruption, partial interruption, or simple displacement. Partial interruption was evident in seven patients (41.2%) whose lesions were close to cortex. In the other 10 patients (58.8%), delineated CSTs were intact but distorted. No complete CST interruption was identified. Overall, the mean distance from resection border to CST was 6.12 mm (range, 0-21), as opposed to 8.18 mm (range, 2-21) with simple displacement and 2.33 mm (range, 0-5) with partial interruption. The clinical outcomes were analyzed in groups stratified by intervening distances (close, <5 mm; moderated, 5-10 mm; far, >10 mm). For the primary brain tumor patients, the proportion of completely resected tumors increased progressively from close to far grouping (42.9%, 50%, and 100%, respectively). Five patients out of seven (71.4%) experienced new neurologic deficits postoperatively in the close group. At meantime, motor deterioration was found in six cases in the close group. All patients in the far and moderate groups received excellent (modified Rankin Scale [mRS] score, 0-1) or good (mRS score, 2-3) rankings, but only 57.1% of patients in the close group earned good outcome scores. Conclusion : DTI fiber tracking based neuronavigation has merit in assessing the relation between lesions and adjacent white matter tracts, allowing prediction of patient outcomes based on lesion-CST distance. It has also proven beneficial in formulating surgical strategies.

  • Oryzias latipes and Oryzias sinensis are indigenous species found in Japan, China, and other East Asian countries, including Korea. Based on morphological differences, the species have been classified distinctly. However, the range of morphological characters such as the number of gill rakers, vertebrae, and spots on the lateral body overlaps and is too vague for clear identification, so their classification based on their morphological characteristics remains uncertain. In this study, the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) gene, which is used for DNA barcoding, was applied to clarify interspecific variation of O. latipes and O. sinensis. Intraspecific genetic diversity was calculated to identify correlations with geographic distributions. We studied two species collected from 55 locations in Korea. All individuals carried a 679-base pair gene without deletion or insertion. Between species, 525 base pairs of the gene were shared. The Kimura two parameter (K2P) distance of O. latipes and O. sinensis was 0.41% and 1.39%, respectively. Mean divergence within genera was 23.5%. Therefore, the species were clearly different. The distance between O. latipes and O. sinensis was 14.0%, which is the closest within genera. Interestingly O. latipes from the Japanese and Korean group represented 16.5% distant. These results were derived from geohistorical and anthropogenic environmental factors. The O. latipes haplotypes were joined in only one group, but O. sinensis was divided into two groups, one is found in the Han River and upper Geum River watershed; the other is found in the remaining South Korean watersheds. Further studies will address the causes for geographic speciation of O. sinensis haplotypes.

CHAID분석을 이용한 서울시 지하철 역세권 지가 영향모형 개발 (Development of Selection Model of Subway Station Influence Area (SIA) in Seoul City using Chi-square Automatic Interaction Detection (CHAID))

  • 본 연구는 합리적인 역세권 범위를 설정하고 이에 미치는 요인을 규명하기 위해 CHAID분석을 이용하여 서울시의 강남 강북지역에 대해 SIA모형을 개발하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지하철 역세권에 영향을 미치는 변수를 중심으로 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 역세권 지가에 영향을 미치는 주요요인이 도보거리로 나타났으며, 두 관계를 이용하여 SIA모형을 개발하였다. 둘째, SIA모형식(선형식, 2차 다항식)을 비교분석한 결과, 강남 북의 역세권의 범위는 지하철역사로부터 도보거리기준으로 강남지역이 767m, 강북지역이 452m로 각각 다르게 나타났다. 셋째, 강남지역의 구간 1(0$\leq$175m)의 경우 역으로부터 거리와 가격과의 관계가 선형이 아닌 2차 다항식의 형태를 나타내고 있다 따라서 현행 도시철도법상 역세권 범위 반경 500m의 기준을 획일적으로 적용하기 보다는 도시의 지역적 특성을 고려하여 재설정하는 것이 바람직하다고 판단된다.

Does the China-Korea Free Trade Area Promote the Green Total Factor Productivity of China's Manufacturing Industry?

  • Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to analyze the net effect of the green total factor productivity (GTFP) of China's manufacturing industry from the China-Korea Free Trade Area (China-Korea FTA) quantitatively. Design/methodology - Firstly, the Global Malmquist-Luenberger (GML) index based on the SBM directional distance function is used to measure the GTFP of China's manufacturing and analyze the driving force for its growth. Secondly, the regression discontinuity quantitative analysis is used to determine the impact of the China-Korea FTA on China's manufacturing GTFP. Findings - Our main findings can be summarized as follows: the China-Korea FTA has promoted the GTFP of China's manufacturing with an effect evaluation mainly resulting from green technology progress. And there is industry heterogeneity in the policy effect on the manufacturing GTFP due to the China-Korea FTA. Namely, policy promotion from the China-Korea FTA is more effective on the GTFP of equipment manufacturing than it is on those of other industries. Originality/value - First, an evaluation and analysis of the GTFP development of China's manufacturing that employs GML index based on SBM directional distance function. Second, a quantitative estimate of China-Korea FTA's net effect on China's manufacturing industrial GTFP that uses regression discontinuity analysis, which is considered to be the closest method to natural experiments and superior to other causal inference methods. Third, an in-depth discussion of the practical steps that China's manufacturing can take to improve GTFP development and integrate China-Korea FTA construction into economic development.

Shape and anatomical relationship of the mental foramen to the mandibular premolars in an Indian sub-population: a retrospective CBCT analysis

  • Objectives: This study assessed the shape and anatomical relationship of the mental foramen (MF) to mandibular posterior teeth in an Indian sub-population. Materials and Methods: In total, 475 existing cone-beam computed tomography records exhibiting 950 MFs and including the bilateral presence of mandibular premolars and first molars were assessed. Images were evaluated 3-dimensionally to ascertain the position, shape, and anatomical proximity of MFs to mandibular teeth. The position and shape of MFs were measured and calculated. The Pythagorean theorem was used to calculate the distance between the root apex of the mandibular teeth and the MF. Results: MFs exhibited a predominantly round shape (left: 67% and right: 65%) followed by oval (left: 30% and right: 31%) in both males and females and in different age groups. The root apices of mandibular second premolars (left: 71% and right: 62%) were closest to the MF, followed by distal to the first premolars and mesial to the second premolars. The mean vertical distance between the MF and the nearest tooth apex calculated on sagittal sections was 2.20 mm on the right side and 2.32 mm on the left side; no significant difference was found according to sex or age. The distance between the apices of the teeth and the MF was ≥ 4 mm (left; 4.09 ± 1.27 mm and right; 4.01 ± 1.15 mm). Conclusions: These findings highlight the need for clinicians to be aware of the location of the MF in treatment planning and while performing non-surgical and surgical endodontic procedures.

SVM기반의 선택적 주의집중을 이용한 중첩 패턴 인식 (Recognition of Superimposed Patterns with Selective Attention based on SVM)

  • 본 논문에서는 신경회로망보다 우수한 성능을 보이는 학습 이론인 SVM을 기반으로, 인간의 인지 과학에서 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있는 선택적 주의집중을 응용한 중첩 패턴 인식 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 선택적 주의집중 모델은 SVM의 입력단에 주의집중층을 추가하여 SVM의 입력을 직접 변화시키는 학습을 하며 선택적 필터의 기능을 수행한다. 주의집중의 핵심은 학습을 멈추는 적절한 시점을 찾는 것과 그 시점에서 결과를 판단하는 주의집중 척도를 정의하는 것이다. 지지벡터는 주변에 존재하는 패턴들을 대표하는 표본이므로 입력 패턴이 초기상태일 때 주의집중을 하고자 하는 클래스의 가장 가까운 지지벡터를 기준으로 그 지지벡터와의 거리가 최소가 되었을 때 주의집중을 멈추는 것이 적절하다. 일반적인 주의집중을 적용하면 주의집중 척도를 정의하기가 난해해지기 때문에 변형된 입력이 원래 입력의 범위를 넘지 않는다는 제약조건을 추가하여 사용할 수 있는 정보의 폭을 넓히고 새로운 척도를 정의하였다. 이때 사용한 정보는 변형된 입력과 원래 입력의 유클리드 거리, SVM의 출력, 초기상태에 가장 가까웠던 히든뉴런의 출력값이다. 인식 실험을 위해 USPS 숫자 데이터를 사용하여 45개의 조합으로 중첩시켰으며, 주의집중을 적용시켰을 때 단일 SVM보다 인식 성능이 월등히 우수함을 확인하였고, 또한 제한된 주의집중을 사용하였을 때 일반적 주의집중을 이용하는 것 보다 성능이 더 뛰어났음을 확인하였다.

계층 클러스터링과 실시간 데이터를 이용한 충돌위험평가 (Collision Risk Assessment by using Hierarchical Clustering Method and Real-time Data)

  • 수역 내 충돌 위험 식별은 항해의 안전을 위해 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 거리 요인을 기반으로 한 군집화 방법인 계층 클러스터링을 포함하는 새로운 충돌 위험 평가 방법을 도입했으며, 주변의 선박이 많은 경우 실시간 데이터, 그룹 방법론 및 예비 평가를 사용하여 선박을 분류하고 충돌위험평가를 기반으로 평가하였다(HCAAP 처리라 부른다). 조우하는 선박들의 군집은 계층 프로그램에 의해 모아지고, 예비 평가와 결합되어 상대적으로 안전한 선박을 걸러내었다. 그런 다음, 각 군집 내에서 조우하는 선박 사이의 최근접점(DCPA) 및 최근접점까지의 도착시간(TCPA)까지의 시간을 계산하여 충돌위험지수(CRI)와의 관계를 비교하였다. 조우하는 선박들간의 군집에서 CRI와 DCPA 및 TCPA 수학적 관계는 음의 지수 함수로 구성되었다. 이러한 CRI로부터 운영자는 명시된 해역에서 항해하는 모든 선박의 안전성을 보다 쉽게 평가할 수 있으며, 프레임워크는 해상운송의 안전과 보안을 개선하고 인명 및 재산 손실을 줄일 수 있다. 본 연구에서 제안된 프레임워크의 효과를 설명하기 위해 국내의 목포 연안 해역에서 실험 사례 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구의 프레임워크가 각 군집 내에서 조우 선박 간의 충돌 위험 지수를 탐지하고 순위를 매기는 데 효과적이고 효율적이라는 것을 보여 주었으며, 추가연구를 위한 자동 위험 우선순위를 지정할 수 있게 해주었다.

인공치아 매식술을 위한 하악관, 이관, 이공의 골내 주행에 관한 방사선학적 연구 (Radiologic study of intraosseous path of the inferior alveolar cantal, mental canal, and mental foramen for endosseous implants)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the anatomic structures of the mandible-inferior alveolar canal, mental foramen, mental canal-with panoramic radiography and conventional tomography and to compare both radiographic techniques in conjunction with endosseous implants. In this study 14 adult dentulous mandibles -27 cases of right and left side of mandibles- were examined and the results were as follows. 1. The distance between superior border of the inferior alveolar canal and the alveolar ridge crest showed a decreasing tendency from the mental foramen to 4cm posterior to the mental foramen. 2. The mean diameter of the inferior alveolar canal was $4.11{\pm}0.50mm$ with panoramic radiography and $3.29{\pm}0.59mm$ with conventional tomography. 3. The inferior border of the inferior alveolar canal and inferior border of the mandible was closest at 2cm posterior to the mental foramen but it was not statistically significant. the mean distance was $1l.64{\pm}2.95mm$ in panoramic radiography and $1l.68{\pm} 2.91mm$ in conventional tomography. 4. The inferior alveolar canal located lingually in bucco-lingual direction 16%(mental foramen), 54%(lcm posterior to the mental foramen), 68%(2cm posterior to the mental foramen), 50%(3cm posterior to mental foramen), 55%(4cm posterior to the mental foramen). 5. Mean length of the anterior loop of the mental canal was 2.73mm, and the loop below 2mm was 35% and 15% of mental canal was invisible in panoramic radiography. 6. The minimum interforaminal distance was 56.7mm, the maximum distance was 73.2mm and the mean distance was 66.42mm in panoramic radiography. 7. The mean distance between midpoint of the mental canal and alveolar ridge crest was 16.24mm and the mean buccolingual angulation of the mental canal was $52.98^{\circ}$ in conventional tomography. 8. In comparison of panoramic radiography and conventional tomography, inferior alveolar canal is better visualized with conventional tomography than panoramic radiography from the mental foramen to the 2cm posterior to the mental foramen, while visiblity of conventional tomography prominently decreased in 4cm posterior to the mental foramen and alveolar ridge crest is better visualized with panoramic radiography than conventional radiography at the mental foramen and at 4cm posterior to the mental foramen. In radiologic examination of anatomic structures of the mandible for endosseous implants, panoramic radiography and conventional tomography can be effectively used when it is used to overcome the anatomic limitations.
