This paper presents a tree-pattern based code-clone detector as CCR(Code Clone Ransacker) that finds all clusterd dulpicate pattern by comparing all pair of subtrees in the programs. The pattern included in its entirely in another pattern is ignored since only the largest duplicate patterns are interesed. Evaluation of CCR is high precision and recall. The previous tree-pattern based code-clone detectors are known to have good precision and recall because of comparing program structure. CCR is still high precision and the maximum 5 times higher recall than Asta and about 1.9 times than CloneDigger. The tool also include the majority of Bellon's reference corpus.

This study aims to select the most appropriate poplar clones for planting on short rotation coppice poplar plantations in a riparian area. The research investigated biomass production, nitrogen and carbon absorption with 2-year-old poplar (Populus spp.) clones including P. euramericana clone Eco28, P. deltoides hybrid clone 97-18, and P. alba ${\times}$ P. glandulosa hybrid clone 72-30. The average number of stems per stump was five and P. euramericana clone Eco28 had the greatest average number of live stems per stump with 5.9. The average stem diameter was 23.2 mm, and P. deltoides hybrid clone 97-18 achieved the largest average diameter with 25.4 mm. The average annual above-ground biomass production of Populus deltoides hybrid clone 97-18 was 16.1 ton/ha/year, followed by P. alba ${\times}$ P. glandulosa hybrid clone 72-30 and P. euramericana clone Eco28, 12.3 and 5.4 ton/ha/year, respectively. The average annual nitrogen uptake of poplar clones was 46.5 kg/ha/year. P. alba ${\times}$ P. glandulosa hybrid clone 72-30 had the highest average, 63.1 kg/ha/year. The average of annual carbon absorption was estimated 5.3 ton/ha/year and Populus deltoides hybrid clone 97-18 showed the best results with 7.7 ton/ha/year. Based on the results given above, P. deltoides hybrid aspen clone 97-18 is considered as the most suitable poplar clones for wood biomass production on riparian areas.
The 167 plus tree clones of Pinus koraiensis in clone bank planted in 1983 were investigated for time of flowering, rate of flowering, and number of flowering from 1986 to 1989. The results were as follows : 1) There were clones in the minority which do not cross in natural pollination between earlest flowering female clones and latest shedding male clones. 2) The rate of male flowering appeared less than rate of female flowering and received influence of genetic more than rate of female flowering. 3) The numbers of flowering in female and male flower were affected by small number of clones. 4) The flowering number for female strobili was not related to the flowering number of male flower. The 42 clones among 167 clone had not male flower. 5) The flowering number of 167clones were classified three groups in female flower and four groups in male flower by L.S.D 5% test. 6) The clones with abundant female and male flower were selected based on the component analysis. 7) As Based on flowering rate and number of female, the juvenile phase of plus tree clones appeared to be until four years after grafting ; the transition period appeared to be from five to seven years after grafting ; the adult phase appeared to begin from eight years after grafting, 8) The grafted trees of Pinus koraiensis appeared early flowerring about six years compared with seedling trees.
One-year-old cottonwood (Populus deltoides Bartr.) clones, which were classified as sensitive or tolerant, were exposed to 150 n1/1 ozone (O$_3$) over 8 days for 8 hours each day under glass chamber conditions with natural sunlight. The leaves of the sensitive clone had black stipple and bifacial necrosis after $O_3$ treatment. Photosynthesis and stomatal conductance were measured before, during, and after the $O_3$ treatment. The photosynthetic rates due to $O_3$ treatment were decreased 51 percent and 34 percent on the sensitive and tolerant clone, respectively. The stomatal conductance of the sensitive clone was more than 40 percent higher than that of the tolerant clone regardless of the $O_3$ treatment. As light intensity increased, the $O_3$ effect on photosynthesis was clear. Compared to the previous growth chamber studies, our natural light exposure system was able to maintain a stable photosynthetic responses of the control treatment throughout the fumigation period. In addition, changes in assimilation versus intercellular $CO_2$ concentration (A/C curves) showed that $O_3$ decreased the slope and asymptote of the curves for the sensitive clone. This indicates that $O_3$ decreases the biochemical capacity of photosynthesis on the sensitive clone. Chlorophyll contents and fluorescence of the two clones were analyzed to examine the $O_3$ effects on photosystem 11, but $O_3$ did not impact these variables on either clone. Although the tolerant clone did not show any foliar injury, we could not find any ecophysiological defensive responses to $O_3$ treated. Stomatal conductance of the tolerant clone was originally much lower than that of the sensitive one. Thus, the mechanisms of the tolerant clone in this system are to narrowly open stomata and efficiently maintain photosynthesis with a more durable biochemical apparatus of photosynthesis under $O_3$ stress. The sensitive clone has higher photosynthetic capacity and more efficient light reaction activity than the tolerant one under charcoal filtered condition, but is not as resilient under stress.
A clone pSL 2-1, which is a recombinant plasmid believed to contain the mosquitocidal crystal-line protein gene of the Bacillus sphaericus 1593, was expressed in Escherichia coli JM83 and the product of the clone was purified and identified. The unsolubilized mosquitocidal crystal proteins from the B. sphaericus had formed 43, 58, 64, 100, 113, and 130 Kd bands in the SDS-polyacrylamide gel, but the NaOH-solublized proteins at pH 12 formed 2 protein bands of 43- and 64Kd in the gel because the larger protein (precursor) bands were cleaved. The products of the pSL 2-1 clone was purified by Sephadex G-200 and only the fractions having lethal activity to the 3rd in-star larvae of mosquito Culex pipiens were analyzed by the gel. The only single protein band of 42 Kd toxic to the larvae was formed. The major toxic protein being produced from the B. sphaericus 1593 and the pSL 2-1 clone was found to be the 42 Kd.
We have investigated the effect of culture conditions on tropane alkaloids (scopolamine, hyoscyamine) production in hairy root cultures of Hyoscyamus niger L. induced by Agrobacterium tumefaciens $A_4$T. SH medium was the best for tropane alkaloids production from the hairy root clones, HN18 and HN57. The optimum culture peroid was 5 weeks for HN18 clone and 6 weeks for HN57 clone, respectively. The optimum sucrose and dextrose concentrations in tropane alkaloids productivity were 3% and 2%, respectively. The growth of both HN18 and HN57 clones increased with as sucrose concentration increase up to 7% sucrose, but tropane alkaloid contents was significantly decreased. In the HN18 clone, the optimum concentration of sucrose for alkaloids productivity was 5% and those of dextrose was 2%. The productivity of tropane alkaloids for HN57 clone under dextrose treatments was quite a low level compared to sucrose treatments.
Hairy root clones of Panax ginseng were established by selection of some hairy roots formed on the leaf, stem and root segments transformed with Agrobacterium rhizogenes strain $A_4$. The transformed roots grew well in MS medium under the dark condition. To confirm the transformation with Ri-T-DNA, dot blot hybridization and opine analysis were Performed. Among four hairy roots induced from different part of ginseng, the HB3 hairy roots were examined for selection of high-saponin-producing clones. Four clones isolated from HB3 hairy root cultures displayed various phenotypes characterized by growth and total saponin content. Maximum growth was obtained for cultures of HB3-10 clone and the content of total saponin was 0.55 wt%. However, higher amount of total saponin was obtained with HB3-2 clone cultures(0.74 wt%) in spite of lower growth. Dot blot hybridization confirmed the introduction of Ri-T-DNA in the plant genome. In the opine test, agropine and mannopine were detected from all hairy root clones.
Molecular cloning was carried out on the Danish strain of bovine viral diarrhea virus(BVDV) to construct strategy for the diagnostic tools and effective vaccine of BVD afterwards. A recombinant DNA clone(No. 29) was established successfully from cDNA for viral RNA tailed with adenine homopolymer at 3'-end. $^{32}P$-labeled DNA probes of 300~1,800bp fragments, originating from the clone 29, directed specific DNA-RNA hybridization results with BVDV RNA. Recombinant DNA of the clone 29 was about 5,200bp representing 41.6% of the full length of Danish strain's RNA, and restriction sites were recognized for EcoR I, Sst I, Hin d III and Pst I restriction enzymes in the DNA fragment.
The feasibility of the use of Flp-mediated cassette exchange in the development of a CHO cell line, which produces erythropoietin (EPO) stably and largely, was investigated. A stable, high enhanced green fluorescence protein (EGFP)-producing clone was screened by extensive flow cytometric analysis. An EPO expression unit was targeted into the premarked locus of the stable parental clone by Flp-mediated cassette exchange and a correctly targeted clone (FC28T7) was obtained. The EPO production of FC28T7 was proven to be stable in long-term culture. Furthermore, the Flp-mediated cassette exchange did not alter the stable parental clone's characteristics concerning transgene expression level and stability. Taken together, the data obtained here indicated that the establishment of CHO cell lines stably producing a desired protein is achievable using Flp-mediated cassette exchange.

A previous study (Berzaghi et al., 2001) evaluated the performance of 3 calibration methods, modified partial least squares (MPLS), local PLS (LOCAL) and artificial neural networks (ANN) on the prediction of the chemical composition of forages, using a large NIR database. The study used forage samples (n=25,977) from Australia, Europe (Belgium, Germany, Italy and Sweden) and North America (Canada and U.S.A) with reference values for moisture, crude protein and neutral detergent fibre content. The spectra of the samples were collected using 10 different Foss NIR Systems instruments, only some of which had been standardized to one master instrument. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the behaviour of these different calibration methods when predicting the same samples measured on different instruments. Twenty-two sealed samples of different kind of forages were measured in duplicate on seven instruments (one master and six slaves). Three sets of near infrared spectra (1100 to 2500nm) were created. The first set consisted of the spectra in their original form (unstandardized); the second set was created using a single sample standardization (Clone1); the third was created using a multiple sample procedure (Clone6). WinISI software (Infrasoft International Inc., Port Mathilda, PA, USA) was used to perform both types of standardization, Clone1 is just a photometric offset between a “master” instrument and the “slave” instrument. Clone6 modifies both the X-axis through a wavelength adjustment and the Y-axis through a simple regression wavelength by wavelength. The Clone1 procedure used one sample spectrally close to the centre of the population. The six samples used in Clone 6 were selected to cover the range of spectral variation in the sample set. The remaining fifteen samples were used to evaluate the performances of the different models. The predicted values for dry matter, protein and neutral detergent fibre from the master Instrument were considered as “reference Y values” when computing the statistics RMSEP, SEPC, R, Bias, Slope, mean GH (global Mahalanobis distance) and mean NH (neighbourhood Mahalanobis distance) for the 6 slave instruments. From the results we conclude that i) all the calibration techniques gave satisfactory results after standardization. Without standardization the predicted data from the slaves would have required slope and bias correction to produce acceptable statistics. ii) Standardization reduced the errors for all calibration methods and parameters tested, reducing not only systematic biases but also random errors. iii) Standardization removed slope effects that were significantly different from 1.0 in most of the cases. iv) Clone1 and Clone6 gave similar results except for NDF where Clone6 gave better RMSEP values than Clone1. v) GH and NH were reduced by half even with very large data sets including unstandardized spectra.
