  • Objectives : In this article, an analysis of the changing theory(從化理論) of Sameumsamyang(三陰三陽) and Pyobonjung(標本中) in some important medical books, and the historical contexts of those is investigated. Methods : Primary literatures about the changing theory were searched by key words of Sameumsamyang and Pyobonjung in main medical texts, and then analyses and selecting of significant documents have followed. Results : The application of the changing theory to clinical treatment has been mainly done in the process of comprehension and practice about "Sanghanron(傷寒論)". Getting out of simple explanation about meaning of paragraphs in "Sanghanron", the clinical application has been expended to detail drug instruction and prescription managements. Conclusions : The changing theory of Sameumsamyang and Pyobonjung has been actively applied to supporting clinical treatment historically, not recognized merely as a ideal theory.

  • Purpose: To establish a database for breast cancer patients to save and manage clinical data and to preliminarily investigate its clinical application. Materials and Methods: Information on breast cancer patients hospitalized in our department from 2008.01 to 2013.01 were input into our breast cancer management system. SPSS 16.0 software was used as a convenient reference to evaluate the accuracy of the newly built database. Results: A database of 2403 breast cancer patients was successfully established. Information in the database clearly displayed capabilities of storage, addition, retrieval, statistical analysis and other functions. As the continuously updated database showed, the distribution of age, sex, nationality, allergy history, pausimenia and marriage of patients was identical to that achieved by SPSS analysis, indicating reliable and accurate data analysis. Conclusions: The described database is easy and convenient to operate and manage, and should prove suitable for application in clinical research and treatment.

  • Objectives : Recently, He-Ne laser has been used for clinical purpose. We study the medical basis of He-Ne laser therapy and We make a proposal concerning the clinical application of using He-Ne laser in Medicine. Methods : We have selected data related to He-Ne laser therapy and study how to use He-Ne laser in clinic. Results : In biology, He-Ne laser therapy has been effects of an improve in skin regeneration an improve in peripheral and central nerve regeneration an improve in muscle regeneration, an anti-inflammation an alleviation of pain and a bone repair. In oriental medicine, He-Ne laser has been used to laser acupuncture and laser oriental physical treatment. In clinic, He-Ne laser have been used to care several parts like as facial palsy, facial spasm, trigeminal neuropathy, rhinitis and tinnitus. Recently, there is argument that He-Ne laser therapy is suitable to medical insurance. Conclusions : Laser therapy in oriental medicine is widespread and We can apply He-Ne laser to facial palsy, facial spasm, trigeminal neuropathy, rhinitis, tinnitus by using laser acupuncture or laser oriental physical treatment. Till now the whole mechanisms are not fully understood, so we hope to study these mechanisms actively and make suitable to medical insurance device in the near future.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a clinical practice nursing students' microbiology program based on the mastery learning model, and to evaluate the effects of the program on nursing students' knowledge, self-efficacy, performance, and satisfaction related to the nursing students' microbiology program. Methods: The program was developed by using the processes of the mastery learning model. The pre-experimental research design involved a one group pretest-posttest design. The setting was a university located in Incheon, Korea. A total of 130 nursing students participated in the program including a theoretical lecture, clinical practice, and formative and summative evaluation. Results: Using the program that was designed and developed, results for the total score of self-efficacy, knowledge, and performance in the post-test application were significantly higher than in the pre-test application (p<.05). The satisfaction of hand hygiene and disinfection/contaminated hand microbial culture and disinfection test received the highest ratings. Conclusion: The application of a clinical practice nursing students' microbiology program was effective, and can be expanded to other nursing students. Future research with other study designs was warranted in order to prove the effect of a microbiology program based on the mastery learning model.

  • Objective : This report aimed to provide an introduction to the clinical application of Whidam's Su-Gi therapy to low back pain. Methods : Whidam's Su-Gi therapy for low back pain consisted of manual therapy according to upward and downward evaluations. Upward evaluation items include SLR, hip joint LOM, legs raising together, raising knee and turning left and right, and waist raising. Downward evaluation items include spinal alignment in sitting position, shoulder part tension, and cervical part tension. After performing the manual therapy according to the evaluation at each stage, the pain and dysfunction are reevaluated to confirm the negative and proceed to the next step. Conclusions : The clinical application of Whidam's Su-Gi therapy to low back pain is a method of interpreting and approaching low back pain disease with the theory of attraction pathology according to the principle of ChoGi-therapy(調氣療法).

  • Objective : This report is to introduce the clinical application of Whidam's Su-Gi therapy to shoulder pain. Methods : Whidam's Su-Gi therapy for shoulder pain first identifies for red flags in order to select a person to be treated in korean medicine. After performing shoulder joint mobility evaluation and Su-Gi treatment, determine the disadvantage, and determine the mobility evaluation and Su-Gi treatment route of the shoulder, the shoulder blade, and cervical vertebrae. The advantage and pain are evaluated by a manual exercise test. After performing Su-Gi therapy according to the evaluation at each stage, pain and dysfunction are reevaluated to check the negative and proceed to the next step. Conclusions : The clinical application of Whidam's Su-Gi therapy to shoulder pain was organized around the correlation between the shoulder joint, the shoulder, the shoulder blade, and cervical vertebrae, and a medical flow chart was constructed away from the listed description method.

  • Functional Electrical Stimulation(FES) cause paralysed muscles to contract in some clinical circumstances. Generally, FES has been thought of as a valuable tool in activating any skeletal muscle paralysed as a result of upper motor neuron damage. But, the function of cardiac and smooth muscle is also affected by upper motor neuron damage. Today, various applications of FES are investigated, including conditioning cardiovascular exercise, caugh and breathing assistant, improving bowel and bladder control, hand grasp, standing and walking etc. This review will focus on the literature reporting application of FES to control respiratory capabilities and internal organ function as well as increase muscular strength, hand grasp, standing and walking in patients with upper motor diseases.

  • Urological cancers such as kidney, bladder, prostate, and testicular cancers are the most common types of cancers worldwide with high mortality and morbidity. To date, traditional cell lines and animal models have been broadly used to study pre-clinical applications and underlying molecular mechanisms of urological cancers. However, they cannot reflect biological phenotypes of real tissues and clinical diversities of urological cancers in vitro system. In vitro models cannot be utilized to reflect the tumor microenvironment or heterogeneity. Cancer organoids in three-dimensional culture have emerged as a promising platform for simulating tumor microenvironment and revealing heterogeneity. In this review, we summarize recent advances in prostate and kidney cancer organoids regarding culture conditions, advantages, and applications of these cancer organoids.
