This study investigated the perception of employees in restaurants located in Seoul concerning climate change, food safety against climate change and performance of food safety management. The survey was administered to 535 respondents from June 10~13, 2013. Exactly 52.2% of respondents answered that knew of climate change, whereas 7.3% of respondents answered that they didn't know about climate change. 86.6% of respondents recognized that climate change affects food safety. Among food safety management performance, the highest score was observed for thoroughly cooked foods (more than 1 min at $74^{\circ}C$ as internal temperature of foods). For importance of role of operator, respondents recognized that 'confirming food safety guideline' and 'cleaning and disinfecting environment' were important. For 'whether have you seen the food safety guideline against climate change', 32.5% said 'yes' while 67.3% answered 'no' or 'don't know'. Based on these results, employees in restaurants generally recognize climate change and its relationship with food safety. However, food safety education and related guidelines need to be improved to provide related information.
For the assessment of climate change impacts on river flow condition, CGCM 3.1 T63 is selected as future climate information. The projections come from CGCM used to simulate the GHG emission scenario known as A2. Air temperature and precipitation information from the GCM simulations are converted to regional scale data using the statistical downscaling method known as MSPG. Downscaled climate data from GCM are then used as the input data for the modified TANK model to generate regional runoff estimates for 44 river locations in Nakdong river basin. Climate change is expected to reduce the reliability of water supplies in the period of 2021~2030. In the period of 2051~2060, stream flow is expected to be reduced in spring season and increased in summer season. However, it should be noted that there are a lot of uncertainties in such multiple-step analysis used to convert climate information from GCM-based future climate projections into hydrologic information.

In this study future wind resource maps have been produced under climate change scenario using ensemble regional climate model weather research and forecasting(WRF) for the period from 2045 to 2054(mid 21st century). Then various spatiotemporal analysis has been conducted in terms of monthly and diurnal. As a result, monthly variation(monsoon circulation) was larger than diurnal variation(land-sea circulation) throughout the South Korea. Strong wind area with high wind power energy was varied on months and regions. During whole years, strong wind with high wind resource was pronounced at cold(warm) months in particular Gangwon mountainous and coastal areas(southwestern coastal area) driven by strong northwesterly(southwesterly). Projected strong and weak wind were presented in January and September, respectively. Diurnal variation were large over inland and mountainous area while coastal area were small. This new monthly and diurnal variation would be useful to high resource area analysis and long-term operation of wind power according to wind variability in future.
This research was performed to investigate the effect of recent climate changes on wood decay hazard index (Scheffer index) in Korea. The index was determined using a climate data of 58 different locations obtained from the website of Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), and the wood decay hazard index was determined at the intervals of 10 years. Most of regions in Korea except Juju island showed wood decay hazard index values between 35 and 65, considered to be moderate decay hazard zones. But in recent 10 years (2003~2012), the wood decay hazard index was rapidly increased, resulting in showing many high decay hazard regions. The trend may be explained by the in crease of temperature and precipitation. The recent climate change of Korea turning into the weather of subtropical region may explain the increase of wood decay hazard index.
In this study, we examine future changes in surface radiation associated with cloud amount and aerosol emission over East Asia. Data in this study is HadGEM2-CC (Hadley Centre Global Environmental Model version 2, Carbon Cycle) simulations of the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs) 2.6/4.5/8.5. Results show that temperature and precipitation increase with rising of the atmosphere $CO_2$. At the end of $21^{st}$ century (2070~2099) relative to the end of $20^{st}$ century (1981~2005), changes in temperature and precipitation rate are expected to increase by $+1.85^{\circ}C/+6.6%$ for RCP2.6, $+3.09^{\circ}C/+8.5%$ for RCP4.5, $+5.49^{\circ}C/10%$ for RCP8.5. The warming results from increasing Net Down Surface Long Wave Radiation Flux (LW) and Net Down Surface Short Wave Radiation Flux (SW) as well. SW change increases mainly from reduced total Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) and low-level cloud amount. LW change is associated with increasing of atmospheric $CO_2$ and total cloud amount, since increasing cloud amounts are related to absorb LW radiation and remit the energy toward the surface. The enhancement of precipitation is attributed by increasing of high-level cloud amount. Such climate conditions are favorable for vegetation growth and extension. Expansion of C3 grass and shrub is distinct over East Asia, inducing large latent heat flux increment.

Climate change has emerged as a social issue, and efforts have been made to overcome it in various ways. However, climate change due to global warming is likely to accelerate further than we expected, and the associated damage is also likely to increase. This tendency is expected to continue in the future, leading to difficulties for the existing water resource management system based on historical data. The precipitation in 2020 caused property damage and loss of life due to the extreme rainfall exceeding the design rainfall with the very unusual prolonged rainy days. With this 2020 flood, we should no longer be passive in managing flood risk due to uncertainties in climate change.

The CERES-Barley crop simulation model was used to assess the impacts of climate change on the potential yield of winter naked barley in Korea. Fifty six sites over the southern part of the Korean Peninsula were selected to compare the climate change impacts in various climatic conditions. Based on the A1B climate change scenarios of Korea, the present climatological normal (1971-2000) and the three future ones (2011-2040, 2041-2070, and 2071-2100) were considered in this study. The three future normals were divided by three environmental conditions with changes in: (1) temperature only, (2) carbon dioxide concentration only, and (3) both temperature and carbon dioxide concentration. The agreement between the observed and simulated outcomes was reasonable with the coefficient of determination of grain yield to be 0.78. We concluded that the CERES-Barley model was suitable for predicting climate change impacts on the potential yield of winter naked barley. The effect of the increased temperature only with the climate change scenario was negative to the potential yield of winter naked barley, which ranges from -34 to -9% for the three future normals. However, the effect of the elevated carbon dioxide concentration only on the potential yield of winter naked barley was positive, ranging from 6 to 31% for the three future normals. For the elevated conditions of both temperature and carbon dioxide concentration, the potential yields increased by 8, 15, and 13% for the 2011-2040, 2041-2070, and 2071-2100 normals, respectively.
This study investigates differences in hydrological responses to the climatic scenarios resulting from the use of different three hydrological models, PRMS, SLURP, and SWAT. First, the capability of the three models in simulating the present climate water balance components is evaluated at Andong-dam watershed. And then, the results of the models in simulating the impact using hypothetical climate change scenarios are analyzed and compared. The results show that three models have similar capabilities in simulating observed data. However, greater differences in the model results occur when the models are used to simulate the hydrological impact under hypothetical climate change. According as temperature change grows, the differences between model results is increasing because of differences of the evapotranspiration estimation methods. The results suggest that technique that consider the uncertainty by using different hydrological models will be needed when climate change impact assessment on water resources.

The purpose of this study is visualizing climate change contents from Weather Research and Forecasting model and providing useful tool to anyone who want to use them for communication and actual movement. As a results, we have built a process and user interface for publishing Arrow KML, BWS KML, and DI KML. Arrow KML provide wind rose service and wind attribute information for each arrow. BWS KML provide a wind power index and DI KML provide a thermal comfort. All KML contents are more reliable because those are visualized from the scientifically verified climate change prediction model. Further study will focus on searching for climate change contents mining and useful contents design for wide range of climate change mitigation/adaptation activity.
