  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the differences between electronical engineering class in KDC3 and electronical engineering class in DDC 19. The results of the study can be summarized as follows ; 1. The characteristics of the classification items in classification schemes of the electronical engineering fields is that KDC is classified by the vacuum tubes, electron tubes, special tubes, computers etc and DDC is classified by the microwave electronics, short-and long-wave electronics, X-ray and gamma-ray electronics, computers etc. 2. There is a blank in KDC and there are three blanks in DDC of the electronical engineering fields, but the total classification items number is much more in DDC than in KDC. This means that DDC is more classified than in the special classification items. 3. Classification items over 70% in the total classification items of computer fields in KDC, are classified a classification items of the short-and long-wave electronics in DDC. 4. There is a blank of computer fields in KDC and there are three blanks of computer fields in DDC, but the total classification items are many eighteen items. This means that DDC is more classified than KDC. 5. The sections of computers in DDC were established the 621.38195 classification item and the subsection of analogue computers in DDC were established the 621.381957 classification item and the subsection of digital computer in DDC were established the 621.381958 classification item. As we have seen, because of the development in technology and the subdivision of knowledge, the number of items is increased, and the terminology also become simplified and specified in the field of electronic engineering in KDC and DDC.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the quantity, residents` storing manner, and frequency in use of the stored items in bedrooms. and to comprehend the relevant desires of the residents in apartments. The results of the study are summarized as follows; 1. The quantity of the stored Items in bedrooms of apartments were measured after classified into 4 categories; Western style clothes, Korean costumes, underwears, and miscellaneous items. The quantity of the stored items In Rl(the largest bedrooms) was more than twice as many as in R2(the second largest bedrooms)2. The stored items were divided inte 3 categories according to the manner in which they were stored; those generally hung, those generally folded, and those hung or folded half-and-half.3. The frequency in use of the stored items was classified into 2 categories-those used "always" or "often" and those used "seasonal" or "seldom"·and shown diversely according to the kind of items4. It was shown that most residents in apartments were not much satisfied with storage space, i.e.. they generally fell the storage space insufficient. And they tended to want more wardrobes in Rl, and more shelves in R2.

  • In this study, both the literary survey as well as empirical research has been executed to test the validity of the scales that measure the construct of self-monitoring scale could not be classified into five factors as Snyder suggested. Many other scholars (Briggs, Cheek and Buss, 1980) suggested 3 different classifications which was accepted by Snyder and Gangestad (1986). John, Cheek and Klohnen (1996) claimed a two-factor classification. As has been discussed, factor analysis is used to prove convergent validity within the factor and discriminant validity between the factors. However, depending on the researchers, many variations in classification of the factors were found and a lack of content and discriminant validity was found in the previous research findings. It is also important to note that Snyder's self-monitoring scale, did not factor-load at over 30 for all 25 items, regardless of how many factors could be classified. According to findings of this study, the self-monitoring scale neither classified as five, three or two factors nor factor loaded as hypothesized. It is also clear that Snyder's self-monitoring scale lack convergent validity as the sub-factors of the scale fail to prove its uni-dimensionality. The A self-monitoring scale not only fail to overcome the problems of Snyder's self-monitoring scale but even lost the attractiveness of the self-monitoring scale. In this study, it was also found that the A self-monitoring scale was not classified as hypothesized in either in a two or three-factor classification. It is, of course, not desirable to use any scale that lacks convergent and discriminant validity even though it has been widely used but also has held a great deal of influence on the field of social psychology. To overcome the shortcomings of Snyder's self-monitoring scale, Lennox and Wolfe(1984) suggested 13 items. This study 1. was dedicated to test the validity and reliability of the scale, in which we found that the data presented in validity as the two factors were classified and loaded as expected. Reliability was also proven by checking Cronbach's alpha for each factor and for the total items. In addition, a confirmatory factor analysis was executed for the 13 items using LISREL 8.12 program to confirm convergent validity in a two-factor classification. The model was fitting and sound ; however, the self-monitoring scale was unfitted and not validated. Thus, it is recommended to use not the original or the abbreviated self-monitoring scale but the 13 items in future studies. It should also be noted that items 7 and 13 should be removed to obtain better uni-dimensionality for the 13 items. These items loaded at over .30, too high for the two factors in the test results of factor analysis. In addition, it is necessary to double-check the cause of two-hold loading at over .30 for the two factors. It could be a problem caused by data or by the scale itself. Therefore, additional studies should follow to better clarify this matter.

  • The objectives of the study were two folds. The first objective was to determine the dimensions of the evaluative criteria of various clothing items (underwear, pajamas, jeans, blouse, two-piece, coat). The second objective was to compare the importance of the dimensions according to the clothing items and the socioeconomic status of the subjects. The questionnaires were administered to college female students living in Seoul. Principal component factor analysis with varimax rotation and ANOVA were used for the analysis. The results were as follows; 1) The evaluative criteria dimensions were found to be different according to clothing items. (1) In underwear, pajamas, jeans, evaluative criteria were classified into Aesthetic dimension, economic dimension and Functional dimension. (2) In blouse, two-piece, coat, evaluative criteria were classified into Aesthetic dimension and practical dimension. 2) there were partially significant differences in placing importance on each evaluative criteria dimension between socio-economic groups. (1) In jeans, there was a significant difference in placing importance on Aesthetic dimension between socioeconomic status groups. (2) In blouse and two-piece there was a significant difference in placing importance on Practical dimension between socioeconomic status groups.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify characteristics of nursing and caring concepts measured by nursing competencies or caring behaviors tools for general nurses working in acute care hospitals. Methods: Five major nursing literature databases were used to identify the relevant tools. The study included 19 nursing competencies tools with a total of 843 measurement items and 12 caring behaviors tools with 334 items. According to the International Council of Nurses (ICN)'s Competencies Framework and 8Cs suggested by Roach (1987) and Pusari (1998), the measurement items were classified by two researchers independently first and in agreement finally. Results: Competency of 'key principles of care' including sub-areas of the ICN Framework was most commonly found: on average 49.3% of nursing competencies items and 91.9% of caring behaviors items. 97.0% of the caring behaviors items were classified into one of six Cs: competence (27.5%), confidence (21.3%), compassion (17.1%), commitment (16.5%), communication (9.9%), or conscience (4.8%). Conclusion: Nursing competencies tools were more likely to measure 'what to do' focusing on tasks, while caring behaviors tools were to measure 'how to do' focusing on nurses' attitudes or values. Nursing practices should be evaluated with both nursing competencies and caring behaviors tools, considering that nursing and caring were differently conceptualized in the quantitative tools.

  • Background and objective: The boom in urban agriculture has also resulted in the creation of many school gardens. With the increase in various hands-on education programs, people are interested in assessing the value of school gardens. This study was conducted to derive indicators for service value assessement of educational farming experience using school gardens. Methods: Through literature review, we selected assessment items and sub-factors. The indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of school gardens are classified using the Delphi method that involve a focus group experts. In order to increase the reliability and validity of the selected and classified items, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted. In addition, the relative importance and priority of each factor in each field were assessed using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Results: We classified the indicators into 4 criteria and come up with 13 items and 33 sub-factors in educational value, health value, economic value, and ecological and environmental value. Most of the items for the 4 value criteria derived were significant for assessing the value of agricultural experience services with content validity ratio (CVR) higher than 0.59 and reliability higher than .6 . In the value criteria, the experts rated educational value as the most important, followed by health value, ecological and environmental value, and economic value. In the assessment items, the most important was improvement of social functions. In the sub-factors, the most important was strengthening of ties (friendly interactions). Conclusion: Among the derived indicators assessing the value of school gardens, 4 criteria, 12 evaluation items and 29 sub-factors showed significance. The schematic index would be useful for the assessment.
