  • The purpose of this study is to verify what kind of influence do strategic factors (clarification of outsourcing goals, clarification of outsourcing scope, co-sourcing, management of supply businesses, and human resource participation) have on marketing performance factors (improvement of service quality, customer satisfaction, and improvement of employees' ability). Another purpose is to examine whether the influence of strategic factors of outsourcing on marketing performance differ depending on the outsourcing motives and the degree of human resources outsourcing. Hypothesis of influences of strategic factors of outsourcing on marketing performance is verified. The study shoes that co-sourcing has a significant influence on improvement of service quality, participation of human resources on improvement of service quality and employees' ability, and management of supply businesses on customer satisfaction and improvement of employees' ability. However, the study indicates that clarification of outsourcing goals and outsourcing scope do not affect variables in marketing performance.

  • The performance of ultrafiltration (UF) membranes with molecular weight cut off (MWCO) of 1000 and 3500 Da in clarifying sugar cane juice was investigated, as well as the performance of a nanofiltration (NF) membrane with MWCO of 200 Da and a reverse osmosis (RO) membrane in concentrating sugar cane juice. For both cases the sugar cane juice had been limed and partially clarified. The UF membranes were found to be effective at clarifying the sugar cane juice in terms of purity rise and reduction in turbidity, colour, starch and protein. A purity rise of approximately 6 was achieved by both UF membranes at trans-membrane pressures (TMP) from 15 to 25 bar. However, Brix reduction in the permeate was between 14.5 and 41.85% and 12.11 and 26.52% for 1000 Da and 3500 Da membranes respectively. For the 200 Da and RO membranes the Brix in the concentrate was increased from 7.65 to 12.3 after 3 hours of operation for the 200 Da membrane at a TMP of 10 bar, whilst the Brix in the concentrate was increased from 15.65 to 27.6 after 3 hours of operation for the RO membrane at a TMP of 35 bar. Overall, UF membranes were found to be unsuitable for clarification of sugar cane juice since significant amount of Brix is reduced in the permeate, whilst RO membranes were found to be effective for concentration of sugar cane juice.

  • An optical method was introduced to investigate the dispersion stability of Saengshik beverages (SB) containing 3.7-11.7% Saengshik powder (SP). Time course changes in backscattering light flux (BSLF) from SB were monitored by a Turbiscan. BSLF in the bottom and top layers of SB increased by forming sediment and foam, respectively, while that in the middle layer decreased by clarifying. With SP levels, sedimentation in SB was retarded, but the height of total sedimentation layer was increased. A logarithmic model was developed to fit to the changes in BSLF with time, showing determination coefficients of 0.979-0.988. The levels of SP in SB influenced the migration speed of the clarification front as well as the numbers of separated layers; 2 layers in SB containing 3.7% SP, 3 in 5.7-9.7%, and 4 in 11.7%. Formation of clear layers started after 17-29 min and continued for 22-53 min. The clarification was retarded most in SB containing 7.7% SP, indicating the most stable SP level for the SB preparation.

  • Effects of clarification and aging of honey wine(mead) and fruit honey wine(melomel) were investigated. Among the clarifiers tested, 'kaki shibu' and 'sake light' were effective in clearing honey wine. Clear honey wine with more than 90% light transmittance was obtained by treatment with $0.05{\sim}0.1%$ of 'kaki shibu' and 'sake light' for 2 days. Higher concentration of these clarifying agents was needed for the clarification of fruit honey wines. Treatment with 0.5% of 'sake light' and $0.05{\sim}0.1%$ of 'kaki shibu' for 4 days was effective for clearing Tangerine honey wine and Japanese apricot honey wine. Though Hunter L-values of honey wines decreased a little bit by using clarifiers, their light transmittance became more than 98% after ultrafiltration. As the content of soluble solid in mash at the beginning of fermentation increased, the content of acetaldehyde, n-propyl alcohol, n-butyl alcohol and iso-amyl alcohol of honey wine increased during aging, while the content of iso-propyl alcohol decreased. During the aging of honey wines, the sensory quality of them became milder as the amount of acetaldehyde and fusel oil decreased. Among more than twenty different volatile flavor components detected from honey wines, 1-phenyl ethyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, 2-phenyl ethyl alcohol, octacosane and triacotane were identified as the major components for the flavor of honey wines. Sensory evaluation of the honey wines indicated that the melomel made with Japanese apricot was better than the Tangerine melomel in the aspects of taste, flavor, color and the overall acceptability. Tangerine melomel was even inferior to honey wine(mead).

  • This paper has tried to research the perception of pilots in a commercial airliners or full service carriers focusing on the airliner's safety management system (SMS). ICAO requires the airliners to set up the basic standards of SMS since the SMS is believed to be the core of the aviation risk management. According to the previous study, it was proved safety climate of an airline affects the safety behavior of cockpit crews. Safety climate is different from safety culture and the safety climate has an advantage to be measured more quantitatively than the culture. That is, the safety climate could be represented as SMS. As the results of the empirical study based on Chen & Chen(2014)'s SMS practice sacle, it had been assumed at the beginning the major factors such as Clarification of SMS, Safety Training for Crews and Sharing of SMS Information have positive effects on the motivation for safety behaviors. The motivation is directly correlated to crews' safety behaviors. However, the result showed the clarification of SMS has not a significant effect on their safety behaviors. The main reason is cockpit crews, through the survey, perceived airline seemed to have no definite standards of SMS and the senior management to have less interest in aviation safety.

  • Today's size of production operations in the packaging paper sector I sconstantly increasing , featuring integral processing systems, high-speed paper machines, and the increased marketing of lower basis weight products. The risk factors involved in these large investments lie more than ever in the available furnish potential and ongoing requirements for further closure of water loops and lower operating costs. A comparison is drawn between recovered paper furnish mixtures used in European mills with regard to fibre properties, strength potential and contaminant content, Both the furnish situation and development trends in modern fluting and testliner machines are instigating concept changes in stock preparation, the approach flow as well as in process water and rejects technology. Developments are currently focussed for example on more efficient debris separation using fine slotted screening, optimized refining , more systematic process water management with loop separation and integral water clarification as well as more efficient removal of microstickies, fillers and fines through appropriate combination of rejects handling and water clarification processes. Product quality differentiation depends decisively on strength characteristics as a function of refining , fines removal , paper machine technology, and sizing . Maximum availability of today's high speed paper machines and , as a result, cost effective production can be ensured by optimum balancing of all subsystems with in the overall concept and by reliable control of problems with contaminants and deposits.

  • Citrus fruits are consumed worldwide due to their unique flavor and nutrition value. It is necessary to remove the haze material as well as to minimize the loss of major compounds such as organic acids, sugars, and ascorbic acid in membrane processes for clarification of juice. The objective of our research was to select the best membrane among one surface filter (Whatman No.4) and five microfiltration filters (GF/A, GF/D, GF/F, Gelman, and SM). Tangerine fresh blended with three times of water was partially clarified with 170 mesh followed by prefiltration in a Samduck filtration system. The best membrane was selected by measuring the amounts of major compounds in the permeates as well as the flux which were statistically analyzed with SAS program. The foulants on the membrane surface were observed by SEM. The flux of GF/A and GF/F decreased with time at probability 0.10. Gelman, SM, and GF/D maintained the stable flux. Gelman showed the highest total scores including nutritive value (the amounts of citrate, malate, and ascorbic acid) and purchasing need (brix and color). Therefore, the microfiltration membrane process was a very effective method in tangerine juice clarification and Gelman type A/E was proved to be the best membrane among the five microfiltration membranes.
