저급탄용 순환유동층 보일러 발전설비의 경제성 평가 (Economic Feasibility of Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion Boiler Power Plant for Low Grade Coal)

  • The structure and combustion characteristics, and the economic feasibility of the circulating fluidized bed combustion(CFBC) boiler using low grade coal were introduced. The economic feasibility is evaluated by comparing a 500 MW CFBC boiler power plant using low grade coal and a pulverized combustion boiler power plant with high grade coal. As the result of the evaluation, the pulverized coal combustion boiler power plant has an internal rate of return of 12.95%, 1,395.9 billion Korean won of net present value, and 6.26 years of payback period. On the other hand, CFBC boiler power plant has an internal rate of return of 13.54%, 1,704.3 billion Korean won of net present value, and 6.02 years payback period. Therefore, the CFBC boiler power plant has better feasibility in all aspects, as 0.59% higher of internal rate of return, 308.4 billion Korean won of higher net present value and 0.24 year of shorter payback period.

Solid Circulation Rate in a 3-phase (gas/liquid/solid) Viscous Circulating Fluidized Bed

  • For the first time, the characteristics of solid circulation rate ($G_S$) were investigated in a three-phase (gas-liquid-solid) viscous circulating fluidized bed (TPCFB). The solid circulation rate was controlled separately by adjusting the experimental apparatus as well as operating variables. Effects of primary and secondary liquid velocities ($U_{L1}$ and $U_{L2}$), gas velocity ($U_G$), particle size ($d_p$), height of particles piled up in the solid recycle device (h), and viscosity of continuous liquid media (${\mu}_L$) on the value of $G_S$ were determined. The experimental results showed that the value of $G_S$ increased with increases in the values of $U_{L1}$, $U_{L2}$, h and ${\mu}_L$, while it decreased with increasing $U_G$ and $d_p$ in TPCFBs with viscous liquid media. The values of $G_S$ were well correlated in terms of dimensionless groups within this experimental conditions.

연소방식별 폐기물 고형연료(RDF)의 연소특성 연구 (A Study on Combustion Characteristics of Refuse Derived Fuel(RDF) in Various Incinerators)

  • 폐기물고형연료(RDF : Resused Derived Fuel)를 연료로 하는 연소기술의 개발을 위하여 기포유동층 연소로와 순환유동층 연소로, 연속연소식 연소로, 회분식 연소로 등 다양한 연소장치를 이용하여 연소 특성실험을 하였다. 여러 종류의 연소설비에서 RDF의 연소 및 배출가스 특성을 비교, 분석하였으며 RDF 전용 연소설비에 대하여 보다 깊은 연구의 기초 자료로 활용하자고 하였다. 기포 유동층 및 순환유동층연소로에서는 적정투입량과 가스공탑속도등 적정운전조건에 따라 안정적인 연소가 이루어지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 순환유동층 연소로에서 연소조건에 따라 연료 중의 질소성분과 연소공기 중의 산소와의 반응이 커져서 NOx의 농도가 높아지는 것을 알 수 있었으며 $SO_2$는 매우 낮은 농도로 측정되어 RDF의 유동층 연소시 거의 발생하지 않는 것으로 판단되었으며, HCl의 경우 평균 36.4ppm으로 배출허용기준치보다는 낮으나 저감대책이 필요한 것으로 판단되었다. 연속연소식 연소로와 회분식 연소로의 경우 성형 RDF와 fluff RDF를 비교 실험한 결과 높은 밀도를 가진 성형 RDF의 연소가 안정적인 열회수 측면에서 더 유리한 것을 알 수 있었으며 배가스 특성은 비슷한 값을 나타내었으며 배출가스 특성은 비슷하였다.

  • Circulating Fluidized-Bed (CFB) boilers which have been operated in Korea were manufactured by the design technology of foreign leading companies. As they are not active to transfer their technology, domestic companies don't have the enough ability to design it independently yet. Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd. and Korean Institute of Energy Research are trying to develop and improve the particle re-circulating device among the components of CFB boiler. Our purpose is to control the amount of particles leaving the re-circulating system by adjusting utility air and reuse the heat of circulating particles. The results of experiments with cold model system show that a fluidization state in the particle re-circulating device is very stable when the amount of utility air is supplied to its wind box with 2.29 times of minimum fluidization velocity. Also the amount of particles entering the riser don't increase linearly when the amount of utility air is supplied over 2.5 times of minimum fluidization velocity. Now we are testing its functional run with the hotstate experiment set-up.

4각 순환유동층의 수력학적 특성 (Hydrodynamic Characteristics of the Rectangular Type Circulating Fluidized Bed)

  • A rectangular type circulating fluidized bed (CFB) with an internal nozzle and two partition walls was proposed. In this modified CFB, an internal nozzle and two slanted partition walls were additionally set in the riser. This cold mode apparatus was made of acrylic resin; the riser was 1500mm high and $1000{\times}1000mm^2$ in the cross sectional area, the internal nozzle was 200mm high and 10mm in the inner diameter, and the partition wall was 7mm thick. Glass beads of $91{\mu}m$ in the mean diameter were employed as bed materials. In the cold mode by using the proposed CFB with an internal nozzle, it was possible to change the particle hold up by changing the gas flow ratio of the nozzle to the total(Qn/Qt). It was found that the inflection point which devided the bed structure between the dense and the dilute phase in the riser varied with Qn/Qt.

  • 낮은 반응성으로 인해 복잡한 공정이 필요한 무연탄은 순환유동층 내의 동적 거동을 통해 연소 특성이 고찰되어야 한다. Pilot 규모의 0.1MWth 급 순산소 순환유동층 연소로에서의 무연탄 연소 특성을 고찰하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 전산유체해석 기법을 이용하였다. 순산소 순환유동층 보일러는 연소로(0.15 m l.D., 10 m High), 싸이클론, 재순환부 등으로 구성되었고 동일한 크기의 3D 모델 반응기를 구축하였다.실험에 사용한 무연탄은 평균 입도 1,070 ㎛, 밀도 2,326 kg/m3이다. 공기 연소에서 순산소 연소로의 연소 환경 변화에 따른 반응기 내부의 기-고 흐름 패턴을 고찰하였다. 이때, 공기 연소와 순산소 연소에서 온도 분포는 비슷한 양상을 보이지만 압력 분포는 순산소 연소에서 더 낮음을 알 수 있었다. 더불어 공기 연소에 비해 순산소 연소에서 더 높은 CO2 농도를 가지므로 이산화탄소 포집이 활발히 이루어질 것을 예상해 볼 수 있다. 결과적으로 본 연구를 통해 무연탄 활용 시 순환유동층 반응기의 최적화된 설계 및 운전에 기여할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

순환유동층 로내 탈황을 위한 국내 석회석의 마모 및 소성 특성 (The Attrition and Calcination Characteristics of Domestic Limestones for In-Situ Desulfurization in Circulating Fluidized Bed Boilers)

  • 순환유동층 연소로에서 탈황을 위하여 사용되는 석회석의 거동을 분석하기 위하여 국내에서 생산되는 석회석의 마모 및 소성 반응 특성을 고찰하였다. 이를 위하여 열중량분석기 및 ASTM D5757-95 마모 시험기를 이용하였다. 순환유동층 내의 석회석의 입도는 입자-입자, 입자-반응기 외벽의 충돌에 따른 마모와 소성 반응에 따라 변화하게 된다. 국내에서 공급된 석회석 시료들은 상용 순환유동층 보일러에서 이용가능하나 석회석들 간의 마모 및 평균 입도 변화는 서로 다르게 나타났다. 또한 순환유동층 보일러의 조업온도인 $850^{\circ}C$에서 진행된 소성 반응도 석회석 별로 차이가 나타났다. 특히 입자의 크기가 증가할수록 소성 반응에 필요한 시간이 증가함을 확인하였다. 더불어 소성된 석회석 시료는 20% 이상 비산입자를 많이 배출하였다.

  • The commercial viability of heat exchanger is mainly dependent on its long-term fouling characteristic because the fouling increases the pressure loss and degrades the thermal performance of a heat exchanger. An experimental study was performed to investigate the characteristics of fluid flow and heat transfer in a fluidized bed heat exchanger with circulating various solid particles. The present work showed that the higher densities of particles had higher drag force coefficients, and the increases in heat transfer were in the order of sand, copper, steel, aluminum, and glass below Reynolds number of 5,000.
