Objectives : This study was peformed to evaluate the effect of Chuna Traction, Correction and conservative treatment. Methods : The patient was diagnosed as cervical bulging disc, protrusion and Uncovertebral joint arthrosis through Cervical spine MRI and treated with conservative treatment(Chuna, Acupunture etc.). We measured Visual Analog Score(VAS) and Range Of Motion(ROM) to evaluate treatment effects. Results and Conclusions : ROM of Cervical spine has improved. VAS score was also decreased.

Objectives To determine the effectiveness of Chuna manual therapy combined acupuncture for trigeminal neuralgia. Methods We searched 6 electronic databases (Pubmed, CAJ, Oasis, RISS, DBPIA, KoreanTK) and 2 journals up to August 2016. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) using Chuna manual therapy combined acupuncture for trigeminal neuralgia. The methodological quality of each RCT was assessed by the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results 3 RCT studies were eligible in our review. The meta-analysis of 3 studies showed favorable results for the use of Chuna manual therapy combined acupuncture. High risk of bias were observed in all studies. Conclusions Although there are favorable results with meta-analysis, our systematic review are highly dependent on the single source of Chinese electrical database, CAJ. Now limited evidence is available to support Chuna manual therapy combined acupuncture for trigeminal neuralgia and further well-designed RCTs should be encouraged.

Objectives : The object of this study is to report a clinical effect of oriental medical treatments with chuna for foot drop caused by herniated intervertbral lumbar disc. Methods : The patient was diagnosed as lumbar bulging disc, and was treated by lumbar traction technique with other conservative treatments including acupunture herbal mixture. And we measured Visual Analog Score(VAS), Modified Bathel Index(MBI), Nurick's Classification, Range of movement of ankle joint. Results : After treatments, Visual Analog Score, Modified Bathel Index, Nurick's Classification, Range of movement of ankle joint were improved in case. Conclusion : Oriental medical treatments with Chuna manual therapy were associated with improvement of foot drop by herniated intervertbral lumbar disc.

Objective : The purpose of this report is to usee more Chuna treatment clinically by comparing the improvement of Back pain and Sciatica between Common treatment Group and Common treatment with Chuna treatment Group. Methods : This study was carried out on 30 patients with Back pain and Sciatica who ere hospitalized in Dongshin Univ. Oriental Hospital form April 2001 to December, 2002. Group A of 15 patients wer taken both common treatment and Chuna treatment. And Group B of 15 patients were only taken common treatment. And after 10 days of admission, we checked and compared VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) and improvement index out of these two groups. Results : The result of the VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) and improvement index of comparison analysis between two groups after 10 days, shows that the improvement of Back pain and Sciatica in Common treatment with Chuna treatment Group is more effective than that in Common treatment Group.

The purpose of this report is to investigate the clinical application of conservative treatment to a patient who has the low back pain and radiational pain. In this case, a female patient, 67 years old, who had low back pain and radiational pain on the right leg. We treated the patient with conservative treatment (acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion) and chuna traction. In result, the in-patient's pain has decreased and walking distance has increased from 10m to 300m for 27 days. In conclusion, conservative treatment and chuna traction could be effective methods to treat the patient who has low back pain and radiational pain.

Objectives : The objective of this study is to report the improvement of two patients with Iliolumbar ligament syndrome showed a physical examination positive. Methods : Two patients were treated by acupuncture therapy with chuna therapy at pelvic. We evaluated the effectiveness by numerical rating scale (NRS) and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI). Results : Both patients improved significantly NRS score and ODI score. And both patients' symptoms were alleviated. Iliolumbar ligament stress test was changed from positive to negative. Conclusions : We conclude that acupuncture therapy with chuna therapy at pelvic is an effective treatment to reduce the iliolumbar ligament originated pain. But there is a limit on this study due to sufficient number of cases. Further studies will be needed.

Objectives : This study is performed to evaluate the clinical effect of Chuna therapy on the neck pain associated with kypotic cervical curvature. Methods : This study carried out on two patients with neck pain & kyphotic cervical curvature who have received treatment in Department of Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine, Dong-seo Oriental Medical hospital from 4th April 2011 to 26th May 2012. Pre and post treatment, We evaluated the cervical angle, Jackson's angle, Jochumsen method, VAS and effective score of treatment. Results & Conclusions : Two patients who received Chuna treatment recovered cervical curvature and improved neck pain.

Objectives : To introduce Total Body Modification(TBM) technique system developed by Dr. Victor Frank DC, DO, ND through combining chiropractic manipulation with osteopathy, acupuncture meridian system, and naturopathy based on his long-time clinical experiences and insights. Methods : After investigating the art, philosophy and science of TBM thechnique, and applying TBM practice under private clinical situation, we compared It with Chuna Korean manual medicine and oriental medicine system. Results : This system deals with correcting human body's functional physiology to potentiate in a favorable manner. TBM uses a neuromuscular reflex test and body access meridian points to tap into the body's biocomputer and read functional programs. Corrections are usually made by means of special respiratory spinal adjustment, cranial, soft tissue, or specific joint manipulation. Conclusions : We found similarities between TBM and Chuna system in the view of Korean Traditional meridian concept. The special combinations and sequences of various alarm points and associated points have clinical effects on the treatment of chronic spinal subluxation pattern. This suggests TBM has significance In the point of the future evolution of Chuna manual medicine in Korea.

Objectives : This study was performed to evaluate the effects of Chuna treatment (Saban-method technique) on acute lumbar sprain patients with limited range of motion(LOM). Methods : Three patients suffered from acute lumbar sprain with LOM, were treated with Chuna therapy(Saban-method technique), acupuncture, herbal medicine, physical therapy and measured by VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) and ODI(Oswestry Disability Index). Results : After Chuna treatment and oriental medical treatments, we found out a recovery from three patients suffering from acute low back pain with LOM. Conclusions : Through this study, we suggest that Chuna treatment(Saban-method technique) and oriental medical treatments was effective to cure acute lumbar sprain patient with LOM.

Objects : This study was to report a clinical effect of Chuna Treatment for a patient diagnosed by Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI) as Cervical Myelopathy. Methods: In order to alleviate shoulder pain and neck stiffness, the patient was treated by acupuncture therapy, herbal medicine, phamacopucture, cervical traction technique of Chuna treatment and conservative managements. To evaluate the effect of the treatment, Recovery rate of Hirabayashi, VAS(Visual Anlaogue Scale), NDI and ROM(Range of Motion) were used. Lhermitte's sign, Valsalva test, Distraction test, Compression test and Spurling test were carried out. Results: VAS, NDI and ROM were improved and Recovery rate was 100%. Conclusions: Korean Treatment can be effectively used for a patient with Cervical Myelopathy. Further clinical studies are needed to verify the findings.
