The primary purpose of this research is to examine the career development of under-graduate environmental education program students. More specifically, it intends to understand how they perceive their career prospect, how they prepare for they career and what kind of career development assistance they receive from their school. For most of college students, a primary purpose for attending college is to prepare for a career, but often academic preparation in college is not enough to get the job they aspire. Career preparation becomes even more complex when their major does not dictate any specific career path or when the major does dictate a specific career path but it does not provide sufficient and quality job opportunities. Undergraduate environmental education programs are typical examples of the latter. To illuminate the understanding of the context surrounding undergraduate environmental education program students, semi-structured interviews were conducted through an instance message software program from August 17th, 2007 to August 20th, 2007. The subjects of this study consisted of 4 undergraduate students and 2 graduates of Hangu University (a tentative name). Each participant was interviewed once or twice for about 2 hours each interview. The findings of the study are as follow. First, they maintain a positive attitude regarding the career outlook and the career decision but it is not well founded. Second, career search and career preparation are conducted individually, and their school does not provide much systematic career assistance. Third, they did not see the relevance of the curriculum of their program to their future career. A few preliminary implications for practices related to career development may be drawn from the findings reported in this study. First, undergraduate students in environmental education programs appear to be in need of comprehensive career development assistance ranging from exploration of job opportunities related to majors, to development of job-seeking skills, to general issues of career preparation and choice. Experiential modes of career exploration seem to be helpful in clarifying their interest and aptitude in the area of environmental education. Second, career development assistance for these students should start at early college years. Third, these students may need help in exploring diverse opportunities related to their major as well as other academic areas. Finally, it is recommended to create more careers in the area of environmental education.
The West Coast is known as one of the world's three largest intertidal mudflats but the mudflat ecosystems have been constantly destroyed by various reclamation projects and industrial complexes. This study intends to estimate the economic values of major ecosystem services provided by the Seocheon intertidal flats using a choice modeling method. The benefits of the intertidal flats are categorized as four different attributes: number of migratory birds (related to biodiversity and cultural services), production of fish and shellfish (regulating services and habitats), tourism activities (cultural services), and number of fishing households in local communities (cultural services). Study results show that the general public enjoys the economic benefits of 1.777 trillion won (900 million won/hectare) as of 2015 in order to preserve 1,200ha of Seocheon mudflat. Assuming that future generations continue to enjoy these economic benefits of mudflat conservation, the annual value converted is about 64.7 billion won/year, corresponding to 53.9 million won/hectare per year. Individuals are willing to pay are expected to maintain their entire life in the 1,000 households living in the Seocheon tidal-flat fishing village, with an average of 11,000 won per person and an additional 50,000 tourist activities per year. It was estimated to have the amount of payment of 9,000 won. An individual's marginal willingness to pay was estimated to be about 11,000 won per year for supporting a total of 1,000 fishing households, 6,000 won to provide tourism activities of 50,000 visitors, and 9,000 won to provide the habitats of 90,000 migratory birds. For segmentation analysis, residents of Seocheon did not place significant values for the attributes besides migratory bird conservation. However, those of Gunsan showed relatively low margtinal willingness to pay for conservation of migratory birds and fishing villages but showed similar preferences for the maintenance of tourism activities compared to the general public. The results imply that the introduction of economic incentive system is needed to effectively manage and conserve ecosystem services of specific intertidal flats.
Manjungpan Chunhyangga is established by Manjung Kim Sohee. She selectively chose and arranged the songs by Jung Jungryeol, Song Mangap, Jung Eungmin, Kim Yeonsoo, Park Dongsil, and Jung Kwangsil. Kim Sohee once stated that while a major section of Chunhyangga is based on the songs by Jung Jungryeol, Song Mangap, Jung Eungmin, and Kim Yeonsoo, the whole part of Okjungga is derived from Park Dongsil. However, there is not much material that will provide enough information with regard to what musical characteristics Park Dongsilje Chunhyangga possessed. Under the circumstances, the voice of Park Dongsilje, left by Kim Sohee, triggers curiosity on Park Dongsilje Chunhyangga. It can also be construed that there must be a good reason for choosing Park Dongsilje for Okjungga, unlike other parts. Therefore, this paper attempted to find out what the unique features of Par Dongsilje are and what the reasons behind Kim Sohee's musical choice were through comparison and analysis of Kim Sohee's musical features in Okjungga. The following are the results. Firstly, Okjungga is a created verse by its nature and it does not possess specific features to a school. Therefore, the reason for choosing Park Dongsilje could have been based on musical reason rather than verse. Secondly, the lyrics of Park Dongsilje Okjungga is closer to that of Song Mangap rather than that of Jung Jungryeolje. It can be argued that it falls between the two of them. Thirdly, the tone and melody of Park Dongsilje Okjungga falls in the middle section of Dongpyenje and Supyenje. Fourthly, the analysis of Jinyangjo rhythm out of the whole Manjungpan Chunhyangga shows that there are slight differences among Song Mangapje, Jung Jungryeolje, and Jung Eungminje. Park Dongsilje is very unique in the sense that it does not use utbutim in gyemyeonjo part in Manjungpan Chunhyangga. Park Dongsilje Okjungga is a song to which the tone, melody, and sigimsae of Supyeonje is added to lyric butimsae of Dongpyeonje. It can be seemed as simple and less sophisticated because, with its simple lyric butimsae, it shows a less complicated tone utilization rather than Jung Jungryeol. With lighter decoration of music, feelings can be conveyed more directly. That is probably why Kim Sohee commented on Park Dongsilje Chunhyangga that it is the most mournful song for Chunhyang and it is the song that moves anyone who listens to the song. Consequently, Kim Sohee accepted Park Dongsilje Okjungga and she created different feelings to Manjungpan Chunhyangga which has repeatedly displayed the color of Jung Jungryeol. Combining the lyric addition of Dongpyeon style and the melody of Supyeon style can crated a different language.
A larceny means stealing others' properties, as one of crime types most closely connected with common people. Along with fraud, it is the mostly common property crime; in particular, the largest number of people are exposed to a burglary. This study aims to find the schemes to utilize private guards according to the characteristics of burglary. To do so, a questionnaire survey was conducted into an actual condition of official statistics of burglary and into the criminals of burglary, with a view to understanding the behavioral characteristics of burglary and suggesting defense mechanisms to prevent the crime. Burglary is not just a major crime to be dealt with by public guards like the police but also one to be handled increasingly more by private guards. It is why this study intends to identify how to utilize private guards in preventing the crime. Investigations were made into 208 burglars, who were inmates of 10 correctional institutions (prisons or detention houses) across the country. It is found that only about 24% of burglars committed the crime through rational choice, about 60.7% were feared of their arrest at the time of their crime, and a very high percentage (69.9%) of them were assured of their successful crime. Burglaries usually happened at night, mostly in a summer day when everybody goes away from home for vacation. Primarily, the crimes took place in a private house of urban residential quarters. What burglars considered mostly for target selection includes 'profitability,' followed by 'surveillance' and 'risk.' Most (42%) of them committed the crime for the first time ever. Generally, they were not inclined to commit the crime while under the influence of alcohol or drug, which might prevent them from making reasonable decisions. 73.9% of the criminals said that they committed the crime singly without any accomplices.
Purpose: This study examined the relationship between job stress, attributes of health functional food (HFF) selection, and consumption values for information technology (IT) workers, and analyzed the factors influencing the selection of HFF to improve health by making the right choice of HFFs. Methods: Three hundred forty IT workers in Gyeonggi area participated in the study. The participants were divided into low or high job stress group. The differences in participants' general characteristics, attributes of HFF selection, and HFF consumption values were investigated, and the mediating effects of HFF consumption values on the relationship between job stress levels and the HFF selection attributes were analyzed. Results: Job stress levels were high in those IT workers with a length of service < 5 years (p = 0.013). The group with lower job stress levels had a higher tendency to consider the ingredients contained in HFF products (p < 0.001), and their efficacy (p = 0.047). They also showed greater emotional value for a sense of security from consuming HFFs to stay healthy (p = 0.047). The group with higher job stress levels had greater epistemic value in that their choice of HFFs differentiated them from the other workers (p = 0.036). Higher job stress was associated with less consideration of the intrinsic attributes such as ingredients and efficacy of the HFF selection attributes (p = -0.113), emotional value of the HFF consumption values (p = -0.136), and the functional value such as practicality, price, and safety (p = -0.134). The job stress level influenced the intrinsic attributes through the functional and emotional values, demonstrating that the functional and emotional values had appropriate mediating effects on the relationship between job stress levels and intrinsic attributes. Conclusion: Education needs to be provided for workers to relieve job stress and improve the functional and emotional values, which contributes to choosing the appropriate HFFs.
Influenza virus is the major cause of seasonal and pandemic flu. Currently, oseltamivir, a potent and selective inhibitor of neuraminidase of influenza A and B viruses, is the drug of choice for treating patients with influenza virus infection. However, recent emergence of oseltamivir-resistant influenza viruses has limited its efficacy. Morin hydrate (3,5,7,2',4'-pentahydroxyflavone) is a flavonoid isolated from Morus alba L. It has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and anticancer effects partly by the inhibition of the NF-κB signaling pathway. However, its effects on influenza virus have not been studied. We evaluated the antiviral activity of morin hydrate against influenza A/Puerto Rico/8/1934 (A/PR/8; H1N1) and oseltamivir-resistant A/PR/8 influenza viruses in vitro. To determine its mode of action, we carried out time course experiments, and time of addition, hemolysis inhibition, and hemagglutination assays. The effects of the co-administration of morin hydrate and oseltamivir were assessed using the murine model of A/PR/8 infection. We found that morin hydrate reduced hemagglutination by A/PR/8 in vitro. It alleviated the symptoms of A/PR/8-infection, and reduced the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, such as TNF-α and CCL2, in infected mice. Co-administration of morin hydrate and oseltamivir phosphate reduced the virus titers and attenuated pulmonary inflammation. Our results suggest that morin hydrate exhibits antiviral activity by inhibiting the entry of the virus.

Objective : The Korean Association of Anxiety Disorders developed Korean guidelines for treatment of panic disorder (PD) 2018. In this paper, we discussed the consensus among psychiatrists, regarding initial and maintenance treatment strategies for pharmacological treatment of PD in Korea. Methods : Based on current treatment guidelines published by the American Psychiatric Association, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, and the Canadian Psychiatric Association, we developed questionnaires pertinent to initial and maintenance treatment strategies for pharmacological treatment of PD. Seventy-two experts in PD answered questionnaires. We classified expert opinions into three categories, first, second, and third-line treatment strategies, by analyzing the 95% confidence interval. Results : Antidepressants, benzodiazepine anxiolytics, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) were recommended as treatments of choice (ToC), and first-line strategies for initial treatment of PD. Escitalopram, paroxetine, sertraline, and venlafaxine were preferred from among many anti-panic drugs. Mean starting dose of anti-panic drugs for initial treatment of PD was relatively lower, than that for other psychiatric illnesses such as major depressive disorder. In the case of maintenance treatment of PD, antidepressants and CBT were selected as ToC and first-line strategies. Patients were typically examined every four weeks during treatment, to review effectiveness and side effects of the drug. Pharmacotherapy was generally continued for one year or more. Conclusion : This study provides information about consensus among Korean experts regarding pharmacological treatment strategies for patients with panic disorder.

The results of this study were summarized as follows : 1. In the field of general subjects, the compulsory courses are composed of 10 courses(14.3%) in 9 subjects and show only one course in one subject in Korea, while those in Japan are composed of 11-12 courses(18.3-20.0%) in 8 subjects and present each level course of primary and deepening in course. 2. In the field of general subjects, the elective courses are composed of 60 courses(85.7%) in 12 subjects in Korea, while those in Japan are composed of 48-49 courses in 8 subjects. 3. In the field of specialized subjects, the compulsory courses for streams have 3 courses(10.7%) in Korea, while those in Japan have 4 courses (16.7%) 4. In the field of specialized subjects, the compulsory courses for departments are composed of 2-4 courses in Korea, while specialized courses for departments are composed of 4 courses in Japan. 5. In the field of general subjects, unit allotment of the compulsory courses requires the completion of 70 units (37.2%) out of total 188 units(excluding extracurricular activites) in Korea, while that in Japan requires the completion of 70-90 units(38.9-50.0%) out of total 180 units (excluding extracurricular activites). 6. In the field of general subjects, unit allotment of the elective courses requires the completion of 12-36 units(6.4-19.2%) out of total 188 units in Korea, while that in Japan requires the completion of30-50 units(16.7-27.8%) out of total 180 units. 7. In the field of specialized subjects, unit allotment of the major courses requires the completion of more thar 82 units in Korea, while that in Japan requires the completion of more than 60 units, so that the units of the complusory courses for stresms of both of the countries tend to show many differences and diversity in both zone and school. Based on these results, the research concluded that the Fisheries High Schools in the two countries make up nearly similar curricula, while in Japan general subjects carry more extensive choice of courses and higher unit allotment is provided for general subjects than in Korea. It was also concluded that the curriculum for vocational education in Japan intends to develop spontaneous, creative, and soft personalities for job. This study suggests that Fisheries High School curriculum in Korea needs to be improved to give students more opportunities for course selection and to help students adapt themselves to various kinds of job groups.

Objective: The current research was aimed to profile the transcriptomic picture of the peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) associated with immunity in Chinese Holsteins supplemented orally with coated folic acid during the periparturient period. Methods: The total of 123 perinatal cows were selected for this study and divided into three groups; group A (n = 41, 240 mg/500 kg cow/d), group B (n = 40, 120 mg/500 kg cow/d) and group C (n = 42, 0 mg/cow/d) based on the quantity of folic acid fed. Three samples of PBLs were selected from each folic acid treated group (high, low, and control) and RNA sequencing method was carried out for transcriptomic analysis. Results: The analysis revealed that a higher number of genes and pathways were regulated in response to high and low folic acid supplementation compared to the controls. We reported the novel pathways tumor necrosis factor (TNF) signaling, antigen processing and presentation, Staphylococcus aureus infection and nuclear factor (NF)-kappa B signaling pathways) and the key genes (e.g. C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10, TNF receptor superfamily member 1A, cluster difference 4, major histocompatibility complex, class II, DQ beta, NF-kappa-B inhibitor alpha, and TNF superfamily 13) having great importance in immunity and anti-inflammation in the periparturient cows in response to coated folic acid treatment. Conclusion: Collectively, our study profiled first-time transcriptomic analysis of bovine lymphocytes and compared the involved cytokines, genes, and pathways between high vs control and low vs control. Our data suggest that the low folic acid supplementation (120 mg/500 kg) could be a good choice to boost appropriate immunity and anti-inflammation as well as might being applied to the health improvement of perinatal dairy cows.

Purpose: High tension electrical injuries result in major tissue(eg. bones, tendons, vessels and nerves) destruction. Therefore, the management of mutilating wrist caused by electrical injuries still represents a challenge. There are various approaches to this problem including local and regional flaps as well as pedicled distant flaps and microsurgical free tissue transfer. Although it has not gained wide acceptance, because of the technically demanding dissection of the pedicle, posterior interosseous flap is now well accepted for the reconstruction of hand and wrist in hand surgery. The principal advantages of this flap are minimal donor site morbidity, minimal vascular compromise, one stage operation. This flap also offers the advantages of ideal color match and composition. In this report, we describe our experience with the reverse posterior interosseous island flap for reconstruction of mutilating wrist with main vessel injuries. Methods: From October, 2004 to June, 2006, we treated 11 patients with soft tissue defects and main vessel injuries on the wrist that were covered with reverse posterior interosseous island flap. Results: These 11 patients were all male. The ages ranged from 27 to 67 years(mean age 41.75) and the follow-up period varied from 4 to 19 months. Complete healing of the reverse posterior interosseous island flaps were observed in 11 patients(12 flaps). The majority of these flaps showed a certain degree of venous congestion, which in a flap was treated with medical leech. 1 flap has partial necrosis owing to sustained venous congestion, requiring secondary skin graft. flap size varied from $3.5{\times}8cm$ to $10{\times}12cm$(mean size $6.4{\times}8.9m$). The donor site defect was closed directly in 5 flaps, and by skin graft in 7 flaps. Conclusion: We found that the reverse posterior interosseous island flap is reliable and very useful for reconstruction of mutilating wrist and we recommend it as first choice in coverage of soft tissue defects in the wrist with electrical arc injuries.
