ARMA 모델링과 스펙트럼분석법에 의한 가공시스템의 진단에 관한 연구 (A Study on Diagnostics of Machining System with ARMA Modeling and Spectrum Analysis)

  • An experimental modeling of cutting and structural dynamics and the on-line detection of malfunction process is substantial not only for the investigation of the static and dynamic characteristics of cutting process but also for the analytic realization of diagnostic systems. In this regard, We have discussed on the comparative assessment of two recursive time series modeling algorithms that can represent the machining process and detect the abnormal machining behaviors in precision round shape machining such as turning, drilling and boring in mold and die making. In this study, simulation and experimental work were performed to show the malfunctioned behaviors. For this purpose, two new recursive approach (REIVM, RLSM) were adopted fur the on-line system identification and monitoring of a machining process, we can apply these new algorithm in real process for the detection of abnormal machining behaviors such as chipping, chatter, wear and round shape lobe waviness.

인바형 저열팽창 주조재의 절삭성 (Machinability of Invar-type Cast Alloys)

  • The relative machinability of the invar-type cast alloys, such as invar cast steel, invar-type cast iron, Meehanite cast iron, and the modified Invar-type cast iron containing Mo and V was evaluated based on the tool life test, the surface roughness test and the chipping test. Tool life and surface roughness were measured under various cutting conditions. The tool lives of Invar cast steel, Meehanite cast iron, the modified Invar cast iron and Invar cast iron was 12 min, 8 min, 1 min, 41 min, respectively. The surface finish of Invar cast steel and the modified Invar cast iron was better than that of Meehanite cast non, and the chip breakability of invar cast iron and Meehanite cast iron was better than that of invar cast steel. The Taylor's equations of invar cast steel and the modified invar cast iron were $VT^{0.3076}=154.479$ and $VT^{0.3880}=102.326$, respectively. As the cutting speed increases, the surface finish of the modified invar cast iron was improved.

  • In process of the finish face milling of the hardended STD11 steel(H /sab r/ c50,55) by CBN tool, the optimum tool shape is suggested,which can minimize the tool fracture and by chipping by impact. The obtained results are as follows. (1) The optimal chamfer angel was about 25 .deg. , and the suitable chamfer width was 0.2mm. (2) The nose radius of tool was most excellent at 1.2mm in the viewpoint of tool wear and surface roughness. (3) Wear speed was effected by sintering method of CBN tool B.U.E

  • This paper aims to clatify the potimum grinding condition for the electroplated diamond wheel in form grinding of Sr-ferrite. The main conclusions obtained were as follows. (1) The flexural strength and surface roughness of ferrite became the highest at the peripheral wheel speed of 1700m/min. (2) In the case of depth of cut larger than 0.4mm, crack layers is induced in the ground surface, the fracture type of chips exhibits slight ductile mode in the depth of cut smaller than 0.2mm. (3) When the depth of cut exceed 0.6mm, the tool life becomes extermely short due to large chipping and brackage. However, at the depth of cut .geq. 0.05mm, the diamond grain shows abrasive wear. (4) The flexural strength and surface roughness increases in proportion to the feed rate.

  • A new algorithm for detection of tool fracture in milling process was developed. The variation of the peak-to-valley value of cutting load was used in this algorithm. Various kinds of vectors representing the condition of tool, such as tool condition vector, reference tool condition vector, tool condition variation vector were defined. Using these vectors, tool fracture index which represents the magnitude of tool fracture and is independent of tool run-outs is developed. Small and large tool fracture and chipping under various cutting condition could be detected using proposed tool fracture index, which was proved with cutting force model and experiments.

  • Recently, developments in the frontier industry have brought a rapid increase in the use of brittle materials such as silicon wafer, ferrite, sintered carbide, MgO single crystal and die steel. Because of high hardness and brittleness the cracking and chipping are apt to generate in the grinding of brittle materials, but have replaced gradually the high precision grinding. In this study, the optimum system of in-process electrolytic dressing controlled by computer was developed for improving the defects, and could maintain the optimum dressing condition at all times. The control of in-process dressing was simplified using this system, was able to maintain a stable dressing current and was unrelated to the change of dressing condition according to the variation of gap and oxide layer. Therefore, the optimum in-process electrolytic dressing system was constructed and the analysis of grinding mechanism with this system was studied.

가상 CNC밀링머신 (Virtualized CNC Milling Machine)

  • This paper presented a new model of virtualized CNC milling machine. The model verifies the over cut, the under cut and the surface roughness using NC file generated from CAM and cutting condition. The model uses Z-map model to verify workpiece. In this paper, the model used the velocities of x, y and z direction and obtained a center point of a hall end mill for modeling Z-map of workpiece. To investigate the performance of the model, simulation study was carried out. As the results, the model gave geometry accuracy of workpiece, the surface roughness and the chip loads in finish cutting that can predict tool chipping. The virtualized CNC machine can he used a flat end mill, a ball end mill and a rounded end mill.

  • In the manufacturing field, some traditional manufacturing and machining methods become weakened the productivity, the external competitive power, and accuracies of the products. In these point of view, the unmanned and intelligent manufacturing systems are proposed by some manufacturing companies. The real-time monitoring technology of the cutting tool conditions i.e. tool wear, tool breakage, crack, and chipping anre necessarily reauired to realize those system, especially. In this study, we constructed the multi- sensing system using the acceleration sensor, the current sensor, and the loadmeter of a machine tool. Also, we analyzed the nose breakage, the massive signal, and some monitoring features by means of the developed system.

  • This paper presented a new model of NC verification in ball end milling.   • With deterioration of the nation's infrastructure comes the growing, need for effective means of rehabilitating structures. Possibly one for the most challenging tasks is to upgrade the overall capacity of concrete structure. This study focused on the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete slabs strengthened by PS strand and polymer mortar in the tension zone. The properties of slabs are 70×12㎝ rectangular and over a 220㎝ span. Test parameters in this experimental study were placing thickness, chipping, the number of strand, the kind of mortar. Attention is concentrated upon overall bending capacity, deflection, ductility index, failure mode and crack development of repaired and rehabilitated slabs.
