유체집속효과를 이용한 폴리다이아세틸렌 센서 생성 및 크기 제어 (Formation and Size Control of Polydiacetylene Sensor Liposome Using Hydrodynamic Focusing)

  • This study addresses a microfluidic method to uniformly form diacetylene (DA) liposomes and control their size. DA liposomes are biochemical sensor materials with a unique property such that when they are polymerized to polydiacetylene (PDA) they exhibit non-fluorescent blue to fluorescent red phase transition upon chemical or thermal stress. The liposome size and distribution are important because they significantly affect the phase transition. So far, DA Liposomes, have been prepared by mixing of bulk phases leading to heterogeneous, polydisperse distribution in size. Therefore, additional post-processes are required such as sonication or membrane extrusion to obtain an appropriate size of liposomes. Here, we report a novel strategy using a microfluidic chip and hydrodynamic focusing to form DA liposomes and control their size. Preliminary results obtained by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) show that the microfluidic strategy generates more monodispersed liposomes than a bulk method.

The Vertical Distribution and Diurnal Migration of Cladocera, Evadne Nordmanii Loven at Different Stations in the Irish Sea.

  • The vertical distribution and diurnal migration of Evadne nordmanii has been studied at different stations in the Irish Sea. There are many reports that the migrations of planktonic animals tend to be hampered by thermoclines and haloclines. Physical and chemical factors were compared with vertical distribution and diurnal migrations of the animal. Evadne must be essentially an epiplanktonic form with the ability to endure strong light intensity. The animals generally migrated to the very surface layer from their shallow day strata with the decreased of light intensity. During the night their distribution seems rather random or even throughout all the layers, with a tendency to concentrate at the bottom layers, when the water was homogeneous physically and chemically. E. nordmanii may penetrate minor thermoclines and haloclines, but they may avoid chemically distinct waters or possibly currents.

  • The article analyzes the impact of factors affecting the internal control system of chemical enterprises in Vietnam, providing more empirical evidence on factors affecting the system of internal control. Research data is collected in the form of face-to-face interviews and email interviews with managers and employees working in different positions, managers at all levels, chief accountants, and accountants of 52 chemical enterprises in Vietnam. The survey results collected 310 questionnaires. After eliminating the invalid questionnaires due to many blank cells, the authors chose to use 297 questionnaires. Quantitative research was carried out with SPSS 25 software. Research results show that Business Strategy, Organizational Structure, Organization's perception of the instability of the external environment, and Organizational culture are the factors that positively affect the internal control system of chemical enterprises. This can be explained that, for chemical enterprises, Business strategy, Organizational structure, Organization's perception of the instability of the external environment, and Good organizational culture will positively impact the internal control system of chemical enterprises. Based on the research results, the authors have proposed recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of the internal control system of chemical enterprises in Vietnam, thereby contributing to improving the performance of enterprises in the chemical Vietnamese.

무정형 탄소의 입도분포에 따른 리튬이온이차전지의 탄소부극 특성 (The Effect of Particle Size Distribution of the Nongraphitic Carbon on the Performance of Negative Carbon Electrode in Lithium Ion Secondary Battery)

  • 무정형탄소인 petroleum cokes를 대상으로 attrition mill을 이용하여 6~48시간 동안 분쇄한 후 이를 $700^{\circ}C$에서 1시간 동안 열처리한 후 재료특성과 전기화학적 특성을 조사하였다. 분쇄에 의한 효과에 의하여 입도분포와 BET 비표면적의 변화가 발생하였으며 내부의 층간거리도 변화시킬 수 있었다. 이들의 재료특성 변화에 의한 cyclic voltammogram과 충 방전 특성과의 관계를 조사한 결과, 분쇄시간 12~24시간에서 분쇄된 후의 경우가 $6{\sim}8{\mu}m$의 평균입도를 가지며 비교적 큰 층간거리와 표면적을 가질 때 전기화학적 특성이 비교적 우수하였다.

  • n-Heptane, n-Octane, n-Decane, 2,3-Dimethyl Butane을 chlorination agent인 N-chlorosuccinimide, tert-Butylhypochloride, Trichloromethanesulfonylchloride, Carbontetrachloride, Trichloromethanesulfenyl chloride, Phosphorous pentachloride Chlorine등으로 benzene 또는 $CS_2$ 용매중에서 염소화시킬때 생기는 Mono-chloro alkane의 이성질화 혼합물을 정량적으로 고찰하였다. 여기에서 파라핀계 탄화수소의 치환비율에 대한 지금까지 알려진 사실과 일치하지 않는 놀라운 이성질화 분포(Isomerization distribution)를 확립하였다. 이러한 결과는 극성효과를 갖는 공격하는 라디칼의 free energy, 그리고 alkane의 개개의 수소 원자가 지니는 여러가지 서로다른 C-H bond 해리에너지의 상호작용을 통하여 얻어졌다.

  • 몰리브덴은 알칼리용액에서는 $MoO{_4}^{2-}$로 존재한다. 수용액의 pH 2와 6 사이의 범위에서는 $MoO{_4}^{2-}$와 수소이온간의 축중합반응에 의해 다양한 동종다중음이온이 형성된다. 몰리브덴용액의 pH가 2 이하의 범위에서는 동종다중양이온이 형성되나 무기산의 농도가 증가함에 따라 무기산의 음이온과 반응하여 이종다중음이온이 형성된다. pH 6 이하의 용액에서 몰리브덴의 농도분포는 몰리브덴과 무기산의 종류와 농도에 의존한다. 따라서 용매추출과 이온교환자료를 해석하기 위해서는 강산용액에서 몰리브덴 화학종을 규명할 필요가 있다.

Gibbs Ensemble Monte Carlo Simulation for Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium of Binary Mixtures $CO_2/C_3H_8$, $CO_2/CH_3OCH_3$, and $CO_2/CH_3COCH_3$

  • Gibbs ensemble Monte Carlo simulations were performed to calculate the vapor- liquid coexistence properties for the binary mixtures $CO_2/C_3H8$, $CO_2/CH_3OCH_3$, and $CO_2/CH_3COCH_3.$ For all the molecules the potential between sites in different molecules was simply calculated by the Lennard-Jones potential. Density of the mixture, composition of the mixture, the pressure-composition diagram, the chemical potential of component, and the radial distribution function were calculated at vapor- liquid equilibrium. The composition and the density of both vapor and liquid from simulation agreed considerably well with the experimental values over a wide range of pressures. The radial distribution functions in the liquid mixtures showed that $CO_2$ molecules tended to form cluster with each other and $C_3H8$ molecules also aggregated each other due to the weak interaction between $CO_3$ and $C_3H8$ molecule. However the interaction potentials between the same components were similar to those between the different components in the liquid mixtures $CO_2/CH_3OCH_3$ and $CO_2/CH_3COCH_3$.

석탄재와 조립 석회석을 적용한 시멘트 클링커의 시멘트 광물생성량과 미세구조의 화학성분 분포 고찰 (Consideration of Cement Mineral Production Amount and Microstructure Chemical Distribution of Cement Clinker Using Coal Ash and Coarse Limestone)

  • 본 연구에서는 시멘트 클링커의 소성 원료로서 조립의 석회석과 가공하지 않은 석탄재를 적용하여 시멘트 클링커의 미세구조 및 화학성분의 분포를 비교 고찰하였다. 시멘트 클링커의 원료로서 조립의 석회석을 적용한 시료는 시약급 원료를 사용한 시료에 비하여 소성성의 저하가 나타났으며, 석탄재를 적용한 시료에서는 소성성이 일부 증가하는 경향이 나타났다. 조립의 석회석과 석탄재를 적용한 시료에서 1350 ℃에서 Belite의 생성이 높게 나타났으며, 1350~1450 ℃의 구간에서 Belite에서 Alite로의 전환율이 높게 나타났다. 석탄재를 적용한 시료에서 1350~1450 ℃ 구간에서 간극상의 생성이 안정적으로 나타났다. 1350~1450 ℃로 소성된 시멘트 클링커의 미세구조 및 화학성분 분포는 모든 시료가 잘 발달 된 칼슘실리케이트상과 간극상이 명확하게 구분되는 형태 및 성분분포를 나타내었다.

Fabrication of Activated Carbon Fibers from Polyacrylonitrile-Derived Carbon Fibers: Investigating CO2 Adsorption Capability in Relation to Surface Area

  • Activated carbon fibers (ACFs) are fibrous form of activated carbon (AC) with higher mechanical strength and flexibility, which make them suitable for building modules for applications including directional gas flow such as air and gas purification. Similarly, ACFs are anticipated to excel in the efficient capture of CO2. However, due to the difficulties in fabricating monofilament carbon fibers at a laboratory scale, most of the studies regarding ACFs for CO2 capture have relied on electrospun carbon fibers. In this study, we fabricated monofilament carbon fibers from PAN-based monofilament precursors by stabilization and carbonization. Then, ACFs were successfully prepared by chemical activation using KOH. Different weight ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4 were employed in the fabrication of ACFs, and the samples were designated as ACF-1 to ACF-4, respectively. As a function of KOH ratio, increase in surface area could be observed. However, the CO2 adsorption trend did not follow the surface area trend, and the ACF-3 with second largest surface area exhibited the highest CO2 adsorption capacity. To understand the phenomena, nitrogen content and ultramicropore distribution, which are important factors determining CO2 adsorption capacity, were considered. As a result, while nitrogen content could not explain the phenomena, ultramicropore distribution could provide a reasoning that the excessive etching led ACF-4 to develop micropore structure with a broader distribution, resulting in high surface area yet deteriorated CO2 adsorption.

수정된 화학증착(MCVD)에 관한 실험적 연구 - 온도분포와 입자부착 측정 (An Experimental Study of the Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition Process -Temperature Distribution and Particle Deposition Measurements-)

  • An experimental study has been made for heat transfer and particle deposition during the Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition process which is currently utilized to manufacture high quality optical waveguides. The distributions of tube wall temperatures, rates and efficiencies of particle deposition were measured. Results indicate that the temperature distributions of the tube wall in the axial direction yield the quasi-steady form in which temperature distributions fit in one curve if the relative distance from the moving torch is used as an axial coordinate. Due to the repeated heatings from the traversing torch, the wall temperatures are shown to reach the minimum ahead of torch and it is shown that the two torch formulation suggested by Park and Choi is valid to predict this minimum temperature. Measured wall temperatures, particle deposition efficiencies and tapered entry length are compared with the previous modelling results and shown to be in agreement.
