  • Polyaniline (PANI)/Polyimide (PI) membranes were prepared and the effects of PANI contents and doping on the structural properties and gas separation properties were studied. The polyamic acid (PAA) solution was prepared by the polycondensation reaction of 4,4'-(hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphthalic anhydride (6FDA) and 4,4'-oxydianiline (ODA) in 1-methyl-2-pyrrolydinone (NMP) solvent. The PANI/PI blends were obtained by mixing PAA solution and PANI solution, and were doped with 1 M aqueous HCl solution for 24 h. The structural characterizations of the as-cast and doped membranes were examined by FT-IR, XRD, and TGA. The gas permeation experiments with $H_2$, $CO_2$, $O_2$, $N_2$, and $CH_4$ were carried out by variable pressure method at $30^{\circ}C$ and 5 atm. For all gases tested, the permeability coefficients of the blends decreased with increasing PANI content and the magnitude of permeability was in the order of $H_2$ > $CO_2$ > $O_2$ > $N_2$ > $CH_4$. The permeability for PANI/PI membranes decreased after the doping process while the permselectivity increased. For $H_2/CH_4$ separation, the doped PANI/PI (75/25) membrane has a permselectivity of 991.

  • The properties for self-frequency doubling (SFD) is unique phenomena for a small number of special single crystals. It is known that there are serious limitations to vary the concentration of active ions, for example high doping of active ions from 1 to 50 atomic %, in nonlinear materials. Until now, the Nd:YAl$_3$(BO$_3$)$_4$ (YAB) and Nd:(Ce,Gd)Sc$_3$(BO$_3$)$_4$ (CSB) crystals with high doping rates are well studied for the application of SFD purpose. They have much useful SFD properties, but also have big problems in crystal growth. In case of YAB crystal, it can be grown by solution melt method with very low growth rates and easy occurrence of inclusions. In case of CSB crystal, it has optically heterogeneity problems because of disarrangement of ions in huntite structure [1]. These problems make above crystals not so attractive for optical applications. Some popular nonlinear materials, such as LiNbO$_3$(LN), KTiOPO$_4$(KTP), LiB$_3$O$_{5}$ (LBO) crystals, are impossible to substitute by Rare Earth activators because of their crystallo-chemical problems of structure. When we dope active ions with the requisite concentrations for laser generation, it results in decreasing of optical quality of crystals or destroying of acentrosymmetric structure. (omitted)d)

  • The photodegradation of the model compounds Quinol, an aromatic organic compound and Acid blue FFS, an acid dye of chemical class Triphenylmethane was studied by using illumination with UV lamp of light intensity 250W. $TiO_2$ and $TiO_2$ doped with Boron and Nitrogen was used as catalyst. The sol-gel method was followed with titanium isopropoxide as precursor and doping was done using Boron and Nitrogen. In photocatalytic degradation, $TiO_2$ and doped $TiO_2$ dosage, UV illumination time and initial concentration of the compounds were changed and examined in order to determine the optimal experimental conditions. Operational time was optimized for 360 min. The optimum dosage of $TiO_2$ and BN doped $TiO_2$ was obtained to be 2 $mgL^{-1}$ and 2.5 $mgL^{-1}$ respectively. Maximum degradation % for quinol and Blue FFS acid dye was 78 and 95 respectively, at the optimum dosage of BN-doped $TiO_2$ catalyst. It was 10 and 4% higher than when undoped $TiO_2$ catalyst was used.

  • Oxygen-evolution reaction (OER) in alkaline media has been considered as a key process for various energy applications. Many types of catalysts have been developed to reduce high overpotential in OER, such as metal alloys, metal oxides, perovskite, or spinel. Nickel oxide (NiO) has high potential to increase OER activity according to volcano plots. The exact mechanisms for OER has not been discovered, but defects such as cation or anion vacancy typically act as an active site for diverse electrochemical reactions. In this study, nitrogen was doped into NiO by using ethylenediamine for formation of Ni vacancy, and the effects of N doping on OER activity and stability was studied.

  • Transparent and electrical conducting tin oxide thin films were fabricated on soda lime silicate glass by thermal chemical vapour deposition technique. Thin films were deposition from mixtures of tetramethyltin (TMT) as a precursor, oxygen or oxygen containing ozone as an oxidant and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane as a doping material. Electrical properties of fabricated tin oxide films were changed depending on substrate temperature, and the amount of dopant. Resistivity of tin oxide films was reduced by doping fluorine or heat treatment. Thin films can be optimized at TMT flow rate of 8sccm, oxygen flow rate of 150sccm, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane floe rate of 300sccm and substrate temperature $380^{\circ}C$. In this conditions, the lowest resistivity of tin oxide films were $9$\times$10^{-4}$ $\Omega$cm.

  • The influence of heavily Si impurity doping in the GaN barrier of InGaN/GaN multi-quantum well structures of blue light emitting diodes were investigated by growing samples in metal-organic chemical vapor deposition. The delta-doped sample was compared to the sample with the undoped barrier. The delta-doped sample shows the tunneling behavior and forms the energy level of 0.32 eV for tunneling and the photoemission of the 450-nm band. The photo-luminescence shows the blue-shifted broad band of the radiative transition due to the inclusion of Si delta-doped layer indicating that the delta doping effect acts to form the higher energy level than that of quantum well. The dislocation may provide the carrier tunneling channel and plays as a source of acceptor. During the tunneling of hot carrier, there was no light emission.

  • The metabolism of carbinoxamine, 2-[(4-chlorophenyl)-2-pyridinyl-methoxy]-N, N-dimethylethaneamine, was studied in adult male volunteers after an oral dose of 15 mg. Solvent extracts of urine obtained with or without enzyme hydrolysis were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry after derivatization with MSTFA/TMSCl (N-methyl-N-trimethylsilyltrifluoroacetamide/trimethyl chlorosilane). The structures of metabolites were determined based on the electron impact (EI) and chemical ionization (CI) mass spectra. Nonconjugated metabolites identified in the urine were carbinoxamine, nor-carbinoxamine, and bits-nor-carbinoxamine. Parent drug, nor-carbinoxamine, and bits-nor-carbinoxamine were also detected as conjugated forms. These metabolites observed in human urine were different from those previously reported in the rat. Urinary excretions of carbinoxamine were reached to maxima in 4 hours after drug administration with 4.9%-8.1% and 2.5-4.2% of the dose excreted during 24 h as carbinoxamine and its glucuronide, respectively.

  • An efficient and novel positive charge-doping on the sidewalls of multi-walled carbon nanotubes has been achieved in the presence of tetrahydrofuran as a dopant and Lewis acidic ionic liquids, [bmim]$Sb_nF_{5n+1}$ (n ${\geq}$ 2; bmim = 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium), as an activator, leaving air-stable derivatives having positively charged sidewalls and the counter anions, [MWCNT$^{y+}$][SbF$_6^-$]$_y$ (MWCNT = multi-walled carbon nanotube). The derivatization took place very fast in one-pot and under mild reaction conditions. The ionic structure enabled a tunable dissolution of the derivatives in various solvents through anion exchange.
