The purpose of this study was to examine the role of cognitive conflict in the conceptual change process. Ninety-seven high school students in Korea participated in this study. Before instruction, we conducted pretests to measure learning motivation and learning strategies. During instruction, we tested the students' preconceptions about Newton's 3rd Law and presented demonstrations. After this, we tested the students' cognitive conflict levels and provided students learning sessions in which we explained the results of the demonstrations. After these learning sessions, we tested the students' state learning motivation and state learning strategy. Posttests and delayed posttests were conducted with individual interviews. The result shows that cognitive conflict has direct/indirect effects on the conceptual change process. However, the effects of cognitive conflict are mediated by other variables in class, such as state learning motivation and state learning strategy. In addition, we found that there was an optimal level of cognitive conflict in the conceptual change process. We discuss the complex role of cognitive conflict in conceptual change, and the educational implications of these findings.

The objective of this study is to establish outcome validity for three instruments that assess whether subjects met recommendations for daily servings of fruits and vegetables for“Stage of Change”research. A convenience sample of 294 college students was recruited from introductory nutrition classes at Michigan State University in the United States. To measure servings of fruits and vegetables, separately, three types of methods (self-rated intake, 24-hour recall and food frequency) were used in comparison to the servings from a three-day food record, the criterion used. The outcome validity was assessed based on whether or not at least two servings of fruits and three servings of vegetables were reported. Validity was assessed by sensitivity, to measure the ability to detect low intakes, and by specificity, to measure ability to detect adequate intakes. Cohen's kappa was used as well to examine the agreement between the three methods and a three-day food record. The results showed, for fruits, the 24-hour recall had the best agreement (recall 0.54, self-rated : 0.31, food frequency : 0.29) with a three-day food record for servings consumed by people in pre-action or post-action stages. Sensitivity for fruit was also best using a recall (0.81). For vegetables, however, all three methods had low agreement (food frequency : 0.27, recall : 0.21, self-rated : 0.17) with the results of the three-day food record. Self-rated intakes for vegetables had the best sensitivity (0.66) and the food frequency had the best specificity (0.73). Therefore, researcher can use the 24-hour recall method to identify people who consume inadequate servings of fruit. To detect adequate vegetable intake, the food frequency was best of the three methods. Accuracy may be improved by probing for vegetables in mixed dishes and on sandwiches. Purpose: The trend of body temperature change during laparoscopic surgery and the most adequate site for monitoring temperature measurements have not been investigated thoroughly. In this study body temperature change during laparoscopic surgery was measured and measurements of the tympanic, esophageal, and nasopharyngeal core temperatures in surgical patients with total intravenous anesthesia were compared. Methods: From February to October 2013, 28 laparoscopic surgical patients were recruited from a tertiary hospital in Seoul. The patients' core temperature was measured 12 times at ten minute intervals from ten minutes after the beginning of endotracheal intubation. Results: Repeated measure of core temperatures indicated a significant difference according to body part (p=.033), time of measure (p<.001) and the reciprocal interaction between body part and time of measure (p<.027). The core temperatures were highest at tympany location, lowest at nasopharynx. The amount of temperature change was least for the esophagus ($36.10{\sim}36.33^{\circ}C$), followed by nasopharynx and tympany. Conclusion: The esophageal core temperature showed the highest stability followed by nasopharyngeal and tympanic temperature. Therefore, close observations are required between 10~20minutes after the beginning of the operation.

Generally, a thermistor made by sintering a metal oxide is widely used to measure the ambient temperature. This thermistor is widely used not only for industrial use but also for medical use because of its excellent sensitivity, durability, temperature change characteristics and low cost. In particular, the normal body temperature is 36.9 degrees relative to the armpit temperature, and it is most closely related to the circulating blood flow. Previous studies have shown that body temperature changes during biomechanical changes and body temperature changes by anomalous signs or illnesses. Therefore, in this study, we propose a Lock-In-Amp design to detect minute temperature changes of clothing and thermistor wired by a preacher as a method to regularly measure body temperature in daily life. Especially, it is designed to measure the minute resistance change of the thermistor according to body temperature change even in a low-cost microprocessor environment by using a micro-processor-based Lock-In-Amp, and a jacquard and the thermistor is arranged so as to be close to the side, so that the reference body temperature can be easily measured. The temperature was measured and stored in real time using short-range wireless communication for non - restraint temperature monitoring. A baby vest was made to verify its performance through temperature experiments for infants. The measurement of infant body temperature through the existing skin sensor or thermometer has limitations in monitoring infant body temperature for a long time without restriction. However, it can be overcome by using the embroidery fabric based micro temperature monitoring wireless monitoring device proposed in this study.
The purposes of this study were to examine the general tendency of knowledge and problem solving abilities of children to cope with climate change and to find out whether there is a difference in the ability to cope with climate change based on the gender and age of young children. For this purpose, 129 children aged 5 and 6 who are attended in day care center in Seoul and Gyeonggi area were selected. We used 10 questions to measure climate change response knowledge modified environment conservation knowledge checklist and used five problem solving situations to measure climate change response problem solving ability modified safety problem solving ability test item. The collected data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, two-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. As a result, 6-year-old children's knowledge of climate change response and ability to solve climate change problems was higher than that of 5-year-olds. There was no gender difference in knowledge of climate change response and ability to solve climate change. The higher the knowledge level of children's response to climate change, the higher their ability to solve climate change response problems. The results of this study confirmed the association between children's knowledge of climate change response and problem solving ability and showed that a more systematic curriculum for improving knowledge and problem solving ability for preventing climate change needs to be provided to children.
Purpose: Climate change has various negative effects on human health, which has resulted in increased burden on the health care system. Nurses contribute significantly to assessing climate-related health risks and creating a healthy environment. This study aimed to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the Climate, Health, and Nursing Tool (K-CHANT) to measure nurses' awareness, motivation, concern, and behaviors at work and at home regarding climate change and health. Methods: The 22 items of English CHANT were translated into Korean with forward-backward translation techniques. Internal consistency reliability, test-retest reliability, and construct validity using confirmatory factor analysis were performed using SPSS WIN (25.0) and AMOS (26.0). Survey data were collected from 220 master's, doctoral, and post-doctoral nursing students. Results: The K-CHANT consists of 20 items across 5 domains. Two items of the original CHANT were excluded because of low content validity index and standardized regression weights. The internal consistency reliability of the K-CHANT, assessed by Cronbach's α was .81, with an intraclass correlation coefficient of .66~.90. The five subscales model was validated by confirmatory factor analysis (SRMR < .08, RMSEA < .08, AGFI > .70, CFI > .70). Conclusion: The K-CHANT has satisfactory construct validity and reliability to measure nurses' awareness, motivation, concern, and behaviors at work and at home regarding climate change and health. Future research should examine nurses' perceptions and behaviors related to the health effects of climate change and develop an action plan to improve it.

Last target of architectural acoustics is that people wish to convey voice effectively from the space adaptively in use purpose in building. But, how exactly through space sound (sound source) that wish to deliver from indoor can be passed method to do quantification and evaluate quantity of sound by method to serve indoor architectural acoustics estimation summer period and methods to estimate definition propose. This Study searches special quality of sound source about MLS signal that is occurred short-answer sound source (pistol sound source) and nondirectional speaker among indoor sound estimation method, and measure and analyzed reverberation time (RT60), definition (C80, D50) by regulation of each ISO 3382 in age place (classroom, hall, gymnasium). Analysis result and sound factor among could know that d of two sound sources converges in measurement error extent about reverberation time (RT60) of analysis incidental and sound factors and value shows change irregularly about sound factor of D50, C80, pistol sound source judged there is problem. Also, could know that problem is happened in deflection except reverberation time is in deflection analysis with wave that measure each in fixed distance in branch. Finally, when differ size of sound source and measure about change of sound pressure level in case measure sound pressure level giving difference about 10 dB, sound factor could know that there is no different effect.

In a fault tree analysis, an uncertainty importance measure is often used to assess how much uncertainty of the top event probability (Q) is attributable to the uncertainty of a basic event probability ($q_i$), and thus, to identify those basic events whose uncertainties need to be reduced to effectively reduce the uncertainty of Q. For evaluating the measures suggested by many authors which assess a percentage change in the variance V of Q with respect to unit percentage change in the variance $\upsilon_i$ of $q_i$, V and ${\partial}V/{\partial}{\upsilon}_i$ need to be estimated analytically or by Monte Carlo simulation. However, it is very complicated to analytically compute V and ${\partial}V/{\partial}{\upsilon}_i$ for large-sized fault trees, and difficult to estimate them in a robust manner by Monte Carlo simulation. In this paper, we propose a method for experimentally evaluating the measure using a Taguchi orthogonal array. The proposed method is very computationally efficient compared to the method based on Monte Carlo simulation, and provides a stable uncertainty importance of each basic event.
This thesis is based on a research to investigate the electrical fire risk due to the single and composite cause in a terminal block. This paper analyzed the thermal characteristics depending on the screw torque change and contact resistance change to measure the fire risk due to the poor contact from single cause first. To measure the fire risk due to the composite cause, the acceleration tracking depending on the contact resistance change was experimented to check the correlation of poor contact and tracking to fire. The experiment result showed that the thermal characteristics were clearer as the screw torque in poor contact status and magnitude of contact resistance increased and that the thermal characteristics of terminal block depending on the contact resistance change was more reliable than the thermal characteristics depending on the screw torque change. Moreover, the terminal block poor contact and tracking were correlated in the case of the composite cause, and when two composite causes were interacted, the electrical fire risk was higher than the single cause.
A workflow is a flow of work supported by computers. An instance of a workflow is called case. Companies need to constantly refine their current workflows in order to meet various requirements. The change of current workflows is called dynamic change of the workflow. Since Ellis et al. proposed three change types, Flush, Abort, and Synthetic Cut-Over in 1995, various change types have been proposed. A promising change type is Migrate proposed by Sadiq et al., because Migrate changes workflow definitions immediately and makes the redo of cases minimum. However, the formal modeling and time-dependent analysis of Migrate has not been done. This paper proposes a method of computing change time of Migrate dynamic changes for time-dependent analysis. Change time is a measure for evaluating dynamic changes. We first show a Petri-nets-based model of Migrate dynamic changes. Then we present a method of computing change time based on the net model. Finally, we apply the method to 270 examples, and show experimental results, and comparison with Ellis et al..'s three change types.
