AC PDP 보호막 doped MgO 박막의 전기적 특성 (Electrical Properties of MgO Films as a Protective Layer for AC PDPs)

  • AC-PDP의 유전체 보호막 물질로 사용 종인 다결정 MgO의 전기적 특성을 개선하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 MgO에 doping 물질과 첨가량에 따른 전기적 특성을 고찰하였다. 박막을 증착시키기 위해 MgO pellet target을 만드는데 이때 pellet의 밀도, XRD, 비커스경도, 파괴인성, 표면 grain size와 이차전자방출계수와의 관계 및 박막의 표면거칠기, 표면의 형태, 투과율과 이차전자방출계수와의 관계를 고찰하였다. 이에 여러 dopant를 첨가하여 특성 평가한 실험데이터를 정리하여 이차전자방출계수와의 연계성을 조사 하였다.

SHS화학로에 의한 SiC의 합성 (Synthesis of SiC by Self-Propagating High Temperature Synthesis Chemical Furnace)

  • Ultra-fine $\beta$-SiC powders were fabricated by self-propagating high temperature synthesis process (SHS) using chemical furnace. The dependences of the C powders with different surface areas, the molar ratios of C/Si, the weight ratios of chemical fuel content, and pellet diameter-size on synthesis were investigated. Compositional and structural characterization of these powders was carried out by scanning electron micrograph and X-ray diffraction. The $\beta$-SiC powders which had C/Si mole ratio=1.05, 3 times chemical fuel contents, and pellet diameter=20 mm were optimum for synthesis efficiency. By optimizing process-variables, it is possible to fabricate $\beta$-SiC powders which have little secondary phases ($\alpha$-SiC).

  • P2O3-PbO-SiO2-Al2O3계 조성을 이용하여 저온에서 소결이 가증하며 열팽창계수와 유전율이 낮은 회로기판용 glass ceramics를 제조하고자 하였다. 155$0^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 동안 용 융하여 제조한 모유리의열팽창 거동을 확인하기 위하여 TMA로 열분석을 실시하였으며 이 유리를 분말화하여 80$0^{\circ}C$에서 열처리 하였다. 이때 cristobalite 형성억제제로 Ga2O3를 사용 하였으며 Ga2O3 첨가량에 따른 억제 영향을 XRD를 통행 확인하였다. Ga2O3를 첨가한 유리 분말로 pellet을 제조하여 열처리를 하였고 소결시편의 표면을 SEM을 통해 관찰하였다. 열 처리한 pellet에 silver paste를 screen printing하여 유전율을 측정하였으며 조성에 따른 유 전율의 변화를 확인하였다.

Dy2O3-TiO2 산화물의 소결성 및 소결체 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Sinterability and Pellet Properties of Dy2O3-TiO2 Oxides)

  • 산화물 제어봉 물질로서 $Dy_xTi_yO_z$ 소결체를 powder process에 의해 제조하였다. $Dy_2O_3+TiO_2$ 혼합분말의 소결성과 고용체의 상을 TMA와 XRD로써 각각 분석하였으며, 소결체의 비열과 열확산계수를 측정하여 열전도도를 구하였다. $Dy_xTi_yO_z$에서 Dy의 함량에 따라 소결성과 밀도가 변하였고 $3\;g\;Dy/cm^3\;Dy_xTi_yO_z$의 경우 $1580{\circ}C$의 소결온도에서 용융이 일어났다. $4.00\;g\;Dy/cm^3$ 소결체에는 $Dy_2TiO_5+Dy_2Ti_2O_7$의 두 상이 존재하며 $4.54\;g\;Dy/cm^3$의 경우 $Dy_2TiO_5$의 단일 상만이 존재하는 결과를 보였다. $Dy_xTi_yO_z$의 열전도도는 $25~600{\circ}C$ 범위에서 온도에 따라 큰 변화가 없으며 $1600{\circ}C$ 소결체가 1.69∼1.78 W/mK, 1550$^{\circ}C$ 소결체의 경우에는 1.49~1.55 W/mK이었다.

UO2 및 (U1-yCey)O2 소결체의 열팽창 측정 및 평가 (The Linear Thermal Expansion Measurements and Estimations for UO2 and (U1-yCey)O2 Pellet)

  • The linear thermal expansions of $UO_2$ and $(U_{1-y}Ce_y)O_2$ pellet were measured from room temperature to $1400^{\circ}C$ as a function of Ce contents (0, 7.63, 14.84, and $21.68 mol\%$) by using the TMA(Thermo-Mechanical Analysis) method. From the measured data, the linear thermal expansion rate, the coefficient of linear thermal expansion and density variation with temperature were calculated, and the best-fitted temperature-dependent equations were recommended. It was shown that the rate and coefficient of $(U_{1-y}Ce_y)O_2$ thermal expansion increased and the density decreased with increasing Ce contents.

The Influence of Sintering Atmosphere on the Reduction Behaviour of Refractory Bricks and the Basic Properties of $UO_{2}$ Pellet

  • The $UO_2$ pellets are usually sintered under hydrogen gas atmosphere. Hydrogen gas may cause unexpected early failure of the refractory bricks in the sintering furnace. In this work, nitrogen was mixed with hydrogen to investigate the effect of nitrogen gas on a failure machanism of the refractory bricks and on the microstructure of the $UO_2$ pellet. The hydrogen-nitrogen mixed gas experiments show that the larger nitrogen the mixed gas contains, the less the refractory materials are reduced by hydrogen. The weight loss measurements at $1400^{\circ}C$ for fire clay and chamotte refractories containing high content of $SiO_2$ indicate that the weight loss rate for the mixed gas is about half of that for the hydrogen gas. Based on the thermochemical analyses, it is proposed that the weight loss is caused by hydrogen-induced reduction of free $SiO_2$ and/or $SiO_2$ bonded to $Al_2O_3$ in the fire clay and chamotte refractories. However, the retardation of the hydrogen-induced $SiO_2$ reduction rate under the mixed gas atmosphere may be due to the reduction of the surface reaction rate between hydrogen gas and refractory materials in proportion to volume fraction of nitrogen gas in the mixed gas. On the other hand, the mixed gas experiments show that the test data for $UO_2$ pellet still meet the related specification values, even if there exists a slight difference in the pellet microstructural parameters between the cases of the mixed gas and the hydrogen gas.

Multi-scale heat conduction models with improved equivalent thermal conductivity of TRISO fuel particles for FCM fuel

  • Fully Ceramic Microencapsulated (FCM) fuel is emerging advanced fuel material for the future nuclear reactors. The fuel pellet in the FCM fuel is composed of matrix and a large number of TRistructural-ISOtopic (TRISO) fuel particles which are randomly dispersed in the SiC matrix. The minimum layer thickness in a TRISO fuel particle is on the order of 10-5 m, and the length of the FCM pellet is on the order of 10-2 m. Hence, the heat transfer in the FCM pellet is a multi-scale phenomenon. In this study, three multi-scale heat conduction models including the Multi-region Layered (ML) model, Multi-region Non-layered (MN) model and Homogeneous model for FCM pellet were constructed. In the ML model, the random distributed TRISO fuel particles and coating layers are completely built. While the TRISO fuel particles with coating layers are homogenized in the MN model and the whole fuel pellet is taken as the homogenous material in the Homogeneous model. Taking the results by the ML model as the benchmark, the abilities of the MN model and Homogenous model to predict the maximum and average temperature were discussed. It was found that the MN model and the Homogenous model greatly underestimate the temperature of TRISO fuel particles. The reason is mainly that the conventional equivalent thermal conductivity (ETC) models do not take the internal heat source into account and are not suitable for the TRISO fuel particle. Then the improved ETCs considering internal heat source were derived. With the improved ETCs, the MN model is able to capture the peak temperature as well as the average temperature at a wide range of the linear powers (165 W/cm~ 415 W/cm) and the packing fractions (20%-50%). With the improved ETCs, the Homogenous model is better to predict the average temperature at different linear powers and packing fractions, and able to predict the peak temperature at high packing fractions (45%-50%).

Packed-bed type 반응기에서 $NO_x$제거에 대한 Pellet의 영향 (The effect of Pellet about $DeNO_x$ for Packed-bed type reactor)

  • In this experiment, an attempt to use pellets($BaTiO_3$, $TiO_2$, ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$, sludge) for $NO_x$ removal was conducted The effect of pellets on NO removal from simulated flue gas was experimentally investigated for packed-bed reactor of plate-plate geometry. An experimental investigation has been conducted for NO concentration of 50ppm balanced by air, and gas flow rate of $5{\ell}/min$. Ceramic pellets were used for surface discharge and the sludge pellets was added on $BaTiO_3$ and $TiO_2$ to increase $NO_x$ removal rate. In the result, $NO_x$ removal rate using $TiO_2$ was better than other pellets. $NO_2$ segnificatly generated by using $BaTiO_3$ pellets and sludge pellets used with $BaTiO_3$ decreased $NO_2$ generation.
