건조효과를 고려한 준설매립토의 압밀거동 (Behaviour of Consolidation in Dredged and Reclaimed Soil Considering the Effect of the Desiccation)

  • This research is to investigate the self-weight consolidation settlement and desiccation shrinkage settlement of soft marine dredging clay by performing numerical and experimental works. Large column test were carried out investigate the consolidation settlement considering effect of the self-weight and desiccation shrinkage, and centrifuge model test was also carried out investigate self-weight consolidation settlement. Results of centrifuge model and large column experiments about changes of settlement with time were analyzed by using the numerical technique of explicit finite difference method considering effect of the self-weight and desiccation based on the finite strain consolidation theory. Centrifuge model test results were in relatively good agreements with analyzed results in terms of self-weight consolidation settlement with time. Large column test results showed quite different values from the numerically estimated one, carried by experimental conditions.

아칭효과를 고려한 원형수직터널의 토압 특성 분석 (I) - 원심모형실험 연구 - (Analysis of Earth Pressure Acting on Vertical Circular Shaft Considering Aching Effect (I) - A Study on Centrifuge Model Tests -)

  • 본 연구에서는 사질토 지반에 설치한 원형수직터널에서 아칭효과를 고려한 토압의 거동 특성을 분석하기 위해 실제의 응력상태를 재현할 수 있는 원심모형실험(centrifuge model test)을 수행하였다. 이를 위해 직경 6.0m, 높이 15.0m의 원형수직터널을 대상으로 축소모형 실험체를 제작하였으며, 중력장 75G를 가속하여 2회 반복실험을 수행하였다. 더불어, 지반굴착에 따른 토압의 거동특성과 크기를 분석하기 위하여 모형 수직터널 벽체를 2단으로 분리하여 굴착효과를 모사하였으며, 그 결과를 선행연구에서 제안한 이론토압식과 비교하였다. 실험결과, 원형수직터널에 작용하는 토압은 기존의 2차원(Ko) 토압에 비해 약 70% 가까이 전토압이 저감되는 효과가 관찰되었으며, 이는 3차원 아칭효과에 의해 토압이 경감된 것으로 판단된다.

원심모형시험을 이용한 필댐 취약부 모니터링 (Monitoring of Fill Dams for Internal Defect via Centrifuge Model Tests)

  • 본 연구에서는 필댐을 위한 모니터링 기술에 적용할 수 있는 물리량으로 간극수압, 온도와 전기저항을 선정하였고, 이를 원심모형시험 상에서 계측할 수 있는 시스템을 구축하였다. 또한, 코아형 필댐 모형 단면을 설계하고, 코아죤에 취약부가 없는 정상적인 경우, 코아죤 하부에 부분적인 취약부가 발생한 경우, 코아죤 하부에 취약부가 커져서 상하류 사력죤이 연결되는 경우를 포함하여, 총 세 가지 모형을 제작하고, 원심모형시험을 수행하였다. 원심력장이 작용하는 조건에서, 담수시에 나타나는 침투 흐름의 변화에 따라 간극수압, 온도 및 전기저항의 변화를 모니터링하였다. 원심모형시험을 통하여, 간극수압, 온도 및 전기저항의 변화가 취약부 존재에 따라 다르게 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 간극수압, 온도와 전기 저항이 필댐의 내부 취약부를 탐지하기 위한 모니터링 기술 개발에 적용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 캡이 설치된 준설퇴적토층에서 확산에 의한 오염물질이동을 측정할 수 있는 실내 실험방법들이 있지만, 확산에 의한 오염물질이동은 캡핑효과에 큰 영향을 미치지 않는다. 반면, 캡이 설치되는 동안이나 후에 퇴적층의 압밀에 의해 오염물질이 훨씬 더 많이 이동한다. 이것을 증명하기 위해, 원심모형시험기를 이용한 모형실험이 실시되었다. 본 연구에서 22.5시간 100 g에 대해 축소모형실험을 실시하였는데, 이것은 실제로 25년의 오염원이동시간과 축소모형의 100배 규모에 해당되는 모델링이라고 할 수 있다. 원심모형 실험결과 압밀에 의한 이류와 분산이 오염원 이동의 주 원인임을 알 수 있었다.

해안구조물 축조를 위한 해양연약지반의 강제치환 특성에 관한 원심모형실험 (Centrifuge Model Tests on Characteristics in Forced Replacement Method for Soft Ocean Ground to Build Coastal Structures)

  • This paper shows theresults of centrifuge model experiments to investigate the behavior of a replacement method in dredged and reclaimed ground. For this experimental work, centrifuge model tests were carried out to investigate the behavior of a replacement method in soft clay ground. Basic soil property tests were performed to find the mechanical properties of clay soil sampled from the southern coast of Korea, which was used for the ground material in the centrifuge model tests. The reconstituted clay ground of the model was prepared by applying reconsolidntion pressure in a 1 g condition with a specially built model container. Centrifuge model tests were carried out under the artificially accelerated gravitational level of 50 g. Replacement material of lead with a certain degree of angularity was used and placed until the settlement of the replacement material embankment reached a state of equilibrium. Vertical displacement of the replacement material was monitored during tests. The depth and shape of the replacement, especially the slope of the penetrated material and the water content of the clay ground were measured after finishing tests. Model tests for investigating the stability of an embankment after backfilling were also performed to simulate the behavior of a dike treated with replacement and backfilled with sandy material. As a result of the centrifuge model test, the behavior of the replacement, the mechanism of the replacement material being penetrated into clay ground, and the depth of the replacement were evaluated.

원심모형실험을 활용한 얕은 기초가 있는 다자유도 구조물의 지진응답 (Seismic Responses of Multi-DOF Structures with Shallow Foundation Using Centrifuge Test)

  • In this study, centrifuge model tests were performed to evaluate the seismic response of multi-DOF structures with shallow foundations. Also, elastic time history analysis on the fixed-base model was performed and compared with the experimental results. As a result of the centrifuge model test, earthquake amplification at the fundamental vibration frequency of the soil (= 2.44 Hz) affected the third vibration mode frequency (= 2.50 Hz) of the long-period structure and the first vibration mode (= 2.27 Hz) of the short-period structure. The shallow foundation lengthened the periods of the structures by 14-20% compared to the fixed base condition. The response spectrum of acceleration measured at the shallow foundation was smaller than that of free-field motion due to the foundation damping effect. The ultimate moment capacity of the soil-foundation system limited the dynamic responses of the multi-DOF structures. Therefore, the considerations on period lengthening, foundation damping, and ultimate moment capacity of the soil-foundation system might improve the seismic design of the multi-DOF building structures.

다양한 기초 형식에 따른 단자유도 구조물 지진하중 평가를 위한 동적 원심모형실험 (Dynamic Centrifuge Tests for Evaluating the Earthquake Load of the Structure on Various Foundation Types)

  • Soil-foundation-structure interaction (SFSI) is one of the important issues in the seismic design for evaluating the exact behavior of the system. A seismic design of a structure can be more precise and economical, provided that the effect of SFSI is properly taken into account. In this study, a series of the dynamic centrifuge tests were performed to compare the seismic response of the single degree of freedom(SDOF) structure on the various types of the foundation. The shallow and pile foundations were made up of diverse mass and different conjunctive condition, respectively. The test specimen consisted of dry sand deposit, foundation, and SDOF structure in a centrifuge box. Several types of earthquake motions were sequentially applied to the test specimen from weak to strong intensity of them, which is known as a stage test. Results from the centrifuge tests showed that the seismic responses of the SDOF structure on the shallow foundation and disconnected pile foundation decreased by the foundation rocking. On the other hand, those on the connected pile foundation gradually increased with intensity of input motion. The allowable displacement of the foundation under the strong earthquake, the shallow and the disconnected pile foundation, have an advantage in dissipating the earthquake energy for the seismic design.

  • 지질학적 현상을 연구하는 물리적 실험의 경우, 반복성 있는 현상 재현이 가능할 때 실험의 신뢰성을 증대시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 인장력에 의해 발생한 정단층 구조를 대상으로 모형 토조를 이용한 벤치마크 실험을 수행하였다. 이를 위해 모형 실험의 상사성을 검토하고, 벤치마크 실험에서와 같은 방법으로 실험 재료와 인장조건, 그리고 경계조건을 설정하여 실험을 수행하였다. 또한 대형 원심모형실험시설을 이용하여 동일한 크기의 모형에서 원심중력가속도와 인장 속도를 변화시켜 인장 거동 시의 물리량에 대한 상사비를 고려하였다. 1 g 상태에서의 벤치마크 실험과 10 g 상태에서의 원심중력장에서 일정한 속도의 인장 응력을 구현하고, 지표면의 형상을 신뢰성 있게 계측하였다. 이를 통해 지각의 변형 실험 연구를 수행 시, 대형 원심모형실험의 신뢰성과 적용성을 평가하였다.

교량기초 하부에 위치한 터널의 지보방법에 따른 변위거동 (Displacement Behavior of Tunnel under Bridge Abutment due to Supporting Systems)

  • This research is experimental paper to prepare the structural safety of the upper bridge for support type on tunnel and the effect of settlement. Unit weight test and uni-axial compression test have been performed to simulate the physical property of foundation on the tunnel. Tunnel model of slip form type for centrifuge model has been developed to performed the tunnel excavation while field stress is activated. And the support type of tunnel such as umbrella arch method and large diameter steel pipe reinforce method has been tested for the centrifuge model. After the analysis of experiment, results show that internal displacement of large diameter steel pipe reinforce method is smaller than that of the umbrella arch method.

터널 건전도 평가를 위한 라이닝 모델실험 (Model Test of Lining for Estimation of Tunnel Soundness)

  • Recently, many deformations in tunnel such as crack and leakage were occulted. Specially, the defects of tunnel lining have been a serious problem in safety and stability many repair works for maintenance in tunnel have been carried out. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the structural cracking for countermeasure in deformed tunnel and to investigate on the characteristics of lining system and the soundness of tunnel. In this study model tests for tunnel lining were carried out using test apparatus and centrifuge, In the direct loading test, the prototype was Kyungbu high-speed railway tunnel and the scale is 1/10, and lining models were made of concrete. Test conditions included load conditions such as direction, shape and type, lining conditions such as single and double lining, thickness, and reinforcement. In centrifuge model test, the prototype was Seoul subway tunnel and the scale is 1/100, and lining models were made of aluminum and hydrostone. Test conditions included tunnel defects such as thickness shortage. behind cavity and longitudinal cracks, reinforcement methods such as epoxy, grouting and carbon sheet. From these model tests , the characteristics of deformation and failure for tunnel lining were estimated, and the structural behaviors of deformed lining and the effects of repair and reinforcement for tunnel lining were researched.
