  • In the fibre to the home (FTTH) era, it is expected that broadband network provisioning will require thousands of optical fibres to be accommodated in a central office for optical access networks. An optical fibre line testing system could be used to reduce maintenance costs and improve service availability depending on the PON's element manager capabilities and the maintenance procedures adopted by the network supplier. When monitoring optical fibres transmitting communication lights, a wavelength of 1625 nm is used for maintenance testing. The splitter installed optical filters allow the communication light to pass but that cut off the test light in the front of optical line terminals (OLTs) and optical network terminals (ONTs). In the economic point of view, We design new planer lightwave circuit splitter embedded filtter and study it optical property.

$^{11}B$ NMR study of $M_gB_2$ superconductor

  • $^{11}B$ nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements have been performed to investigate electronic structures and vortex states of $M_gB_2$ superconductor. The central transition shows a narrow peak down to 25 K at 3.15 T. Below 25 K, an extra line starts to show up and dominates. The extra line is broad and asymmetric with a long tail in the high frequency side, which confirms that this originates from vortex pinning below the irreversibility temperature. From temperature evolution of the fraction and linewidth of the broad portion, temperature dependence of coherence length and penetration depth are extracted.

  • DMZ is came from the antagonism of ideology of the cold war and will of peace embodiment of Gangwon province, the only divided province in the world, at the time of opening physical distribution transportation time on ground between south and north Korea. Analyze the central plan of Gangwon province that includes Mt. Geumgang sightseeing, the Gyeongwon line and the Donghae line. As regaining the overland route with Eurasian continent that lost because of the division of Korea into north and south, We have lived as people in a island country actually for the last 60 years. we should extend the racial imagination that lean toward the ocean to the continent again. As we present the use of efficient overland distribution transportation that is endowed with the fitness of the Gangwon province's plan to make a new developing opportunity physically and mentally. we would seek the revitalization of Gangwon economy and inter Korean trade.

  • This paper introduces a on-line monitoring system for insulation diagnosis of high-voltage motor stator windings. This system monitors the insulation condition of the stator winding with sensor, coupling capacitor. Partial discharge (PD) signals are able to be continuously measured and digitalized with a Peak-hold A/D converter to build the database of the high-voltage motor's insulation condition. This system can communicate with the central monitoring system via RS-485 This paper introduces an economic solution for data acquisition of partial discharges.

  • In this paper a new distributive control system for BA(Building Automation ) lighting control used on general microprocessors is presented. For optimal lighting control and saving energy, The system have to control the group and pattern lighting control as well as individual light control at one time. Tn this paper, This functions are accomplished with low-cost and simple microprocessor. A plurality of modulated light control terminals are connected to the central control unit through a pair of power line. This power line provide both power and signal to the each terminal and the data is transmitted through cyclic time division multiplex transmission. With this structure a low-cost distributive control system for lighting applications has been achieved, allowing energy and maintenance saving and reliability increase of the light control system.

  • In this paper, a novel Generator On-line Diagnosis System (GODS) is proposed. This system monitors the insulation condition of the stator winding by on-line measurements of partial discharge (PD). Sensor, such as SSC (Stator Slot Coupler) and RFCT (Radio Frequency Current Transformer) are used for PD measurement. PD signals are continuously measured and digitized with a high speed A/D converter to build the database of the generator's insulation condition. Also this system can communicate with the central monitoring system via RS-485. This helps more efficient operation and maintenance of the generator.

Revealing ionized gas kinematics at the center of nearby Seyfert galaxies

  • We investigate the ionized gas kinematics at the center of 6 nearby Seyfert galaxies, using the integral field spectroscopy data from the Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field spectroscopy Area survey Data Release 1. To understand the kinematic nature of the ionized gas in the narrow-line regions (NLRs), we measured the flux, velocity, and velocity dispersion of the [OIII] $5007{\AA}$ and Ha $6563{\AA}$ emission lines, after subtracting a best-fit stellar population model representing the stellar features. At the same time, we measured stellar velocity as a reference for the systemic velocity, and stellar velocity dispersion. We spatially resolved the velocity structure of the ionized gas using each emission line and compared it to that of stars. In this poster we present the flux, velocity, and velocity dispersion maps of the ionized gas and stars, and discuss the nature of the ionized gas outflows in the central kiloparsec scale.

  • A power line communications, power, the outgoing line is a means of communication.   • In an automated industry PLC plays a central role to control the manufacturing system. Therefore, fault free operation of PLC controlled manufacturing system is essential in order to maximize a firm's productivity. On the contrary, distributed nature of manufacturing system and growing complexity of the PLC programs presented a challenging task of designing a rapid fault finding system for an uninterrupted process operation. Hence, designing an intelligent monitoring, and diagnosis system is needed for smooth functioning of the operation process. In this paper, we propose a method to continuously acquire a stream of PLC signal data from the normal operational PLC-based manufacturing system and to generate diagnosis model from the observed PLC signal data. Consequently, the generated diagnosis model is used for distinguish the possible abnormalities of manufacturing system. To verify the proposed method, we provided a suitable case study of an assembly line.

  • We deal with the headway which effects on the performance of the PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) system and the system safety. The headway, time between passage of one vehicle and the next, is one of the important factors to assess the line capacity, which has a cue to solve the problem of the congestion in public transportation. To decide the headway there are many important factors, especially such as the failure vehicle deceleration rate, the following simple analytical equation can be made to assess the relation between the line speed and the minimum headway. In this paper we employ a numerical analysis method using a simple analytical equations for the evaluation of the minimum headway and show simple simulation results.
