An experimental study of the application of Silica fume for the high strength concrete was conducted. Nine specimens with three different contents of silica fume, 0%, 10%, 20% and with three water-cement ratio 30%, 40%, 50% were tested. Results shows that 10% of silica fume and 30% of water-cement ratio has a maximum strength with 700kg/$cm^2$ of compressive strength and 64kg/$cm^2$ of splitting tensile strength and 100kg/$cm^2$ of flexural strength. Slump value of the tested samples decreases with increasing water-cement ratio and elapsed time of silica fume. Splitting tensile strength$({\sigma}_f)$ and flexural strength $({\sigma}_f)$ and static modulus of elasticity(E) can be correlated with compressive strength $({\sigma}_c)$ from a regression analysis.

Currently the study on the effective use of the fly ash is concentrated as construction materials, which is by product of electric power generating plants. Fly ash, therefore, can be used as concrete admixture for the purpose of not only increasing the concrete quality but also of utilizing materials. Within the country it is not easy to use fly ash for the construction purpose because the properties of fly ash are varied due to the use of different raw ores in the various power plants. And little previous construction experiments and the basic experiments about the formation of bubbles are performed. In this study the water-cement ratio is varied in 3 different values and compressive strength is measured and freeze-thaw experiments are preformed to establish the relationships between water-cement ratios and the durability. And also for each batch of different water-cement ratio fly ash is substituted 10%, 20% and 30% of cement and concrete mixture the admixture and the formation of bubbles and also freeze-thaw resistance.

The estimation functions were proposed for calculating diffusion coefficient, chloride binding, and evaporable water. The program estimating chloride ion penetration was developed on the basis of these functions and the effects of humidity, curing temperature, water-cement ratio, and $C_3$A on chloride penetration were analyzed. The relative humidity increases the depth of chloride ion penetration and the trend becomes greater with aging. On the contrary, the influence of curing temperature on chloride ion penetration decreases with aging. By the way, the rise of $C_3$A in cement increases total chloride concentration on the surface as the bound chloride concentration increases but it decreases total chloride concentration on the inner part as the diffusion velocity of free chloride decreases. The fall of water-cement ratio decreases the chloride penetration depth rapidly. Therefore, the reduction of water-cement ratio may be the most effective method for reducing of the steel corrosion by chloride penetration.

Cemented soils or concrete are usually cured under moisture conditions and their strength increases with curing time. An insufficient supply of water to cemented soils can contribute to hydration process during curing, which results in the variation of bonding strength of cemented soils. In this study, by the consideration of in situ water supply conditions, cemented sand with cement ratio less than 20% is prepared by air dry, wrapped, moisture, and underwater conditions. A series of unconfined compression tests are carried out to evaluate the effect of curing conditions on the strength of cemented soils. The strength of air dry curing specimen is higher than those of moisture and wrapped cured specimens when cement ratio is less than 10%, whereas it is lower when cement ratio is greater than 10%. Regardless of cement ratio, air dry cured specimens are stronger than underwater cured specimens. A strength increase ratio with cement ratio is calculated based on the strength of 4% cemented specimen. The strength increase ratio of air dry cured specimen is lowest and that of wrapped, moisture, and underwater cured ones increased by square. Strength of air dry cured specimen drops to maximum 30% after wetting when cement ratio is low. However, regardless of cement ratio, strength of moisture and wrapped specimens drops to an average 10% after wetting. The results of this study can predict the strength variation of cemented sand depending on water supply conditions and wetting in the field, which can guarantee the safety of geotechnical structures such as dam.
The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of inorganic pigments on the physical properties of cement mortar. For this purpose, the compressive strength and absorption test were carried out on cement mortar imxed with inorganic pigments by changing the proportion of cement mortar, water-cement ratio, and ratio of pigment. The result of this study can be summarized as follows: the compressive strength of colored mortar rapidely increased in red and yellow mortar, as the mix ratio of pigment increased. In case of green and black mortar, however, the compressive strength decresed as the mix ratio incresed. In case of red and yellow mortar, the absorption of colored mortar increased as the mixing ratio increased, if the mean particle diameter of the pigment is small. In case of green and black mortar, the absorption ratio decreased as the mix ratio increased. After investigating the overall physical properties of colored mortar, it was confirmed that the proper mix ratio of pigment securing the properties of colored mortar was below 6% of the weight of the cement to be used.
This paper presents a numerical model which can predict degree of cement mineral component, such as $C_3S$, $C_2S$, $C_3A$, $C_4AF$ and microstructure of hydrating cement as a function of water to cement ratio, cement particle size distribution, cement mineral components and temperature. In this model cement particles are parked randomly in cell space and hydration process is described using a multi-component intergrated kinetic model. The simulation result of degree of hydration of cement mineral component agrees well with experiment result. The content of cement hydration product, such as CSH and CH can be obtained as an accompanied result during hydration process. By introducing of equal-area projection method, water withdrawl mechanism and contact area among cement particles can be considered in detail. By using proposed method, pore size distribution of hydrating cement is predicted.

This study discusses the fundamental properties of cement mortar with the kinds and adding ratio of stabilizing agent of recycled water. According to the results, fluidity and air content hardly make difference by the kinds and adding ratio of stabilizing agent. When recycled water is used, setting time is shortened slightly in comparison with plain mortar because of an increase of fine particle. And it is similar to the use of recycled water in the case of A, Band D(stabilizing agent), but shortened significantly in the case of C. Also, it does not show difference with variation of the adding ratio, but as the adding ratio increases, it approach to the value of plain mortar. When recycled water is used, compressive strength is similar to plain concrete, and it shows the larger value in order of D, C and A. As the adding ratio of stabilizing agent increases, it decreases at 3days, but increases at 7 and 28days. However, at the adding ratio of 0.5%, it decreases, instead. Length change ratio by drying shrinkage increases in the case of B in comparison with plain mortar, but is similar to plain mortar in the other stabilizing agent. As the adding ratio of stabilizing agent increases, it decreases, however, increases at the adding ratio of 0.5%

This study is an experiment about what affects the compressive strength by using a reducing agent (PNS based admixtures) to play cement using the cement paste based Waste Concrete Powder of waste concrete, which accounts for more than 60% of construction waste around the latest domestic and international It was. Securing the replacement of cement with Waste Concrete Powder and, by varying the admixture was to compensate for the low absorption of liquidity and obtain a fine powder. And the experiment was conducted with a constant water cement ratio and aggregate usage for the purpose of lowering the water cement ratio promoting strength development. When substituted with the experimental results of 0.3% based on 3 ~ 28 days as strength 36Mpa exhibited the highest strength.

The objective of this work is to understand the deterioration mode of ordinary portland cement pastes and mortars immersed in 5% sodium sulfate solution for 510 days. In order to achieve the goal, x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) are presented in this experimental work. Strength deterioration (SDF) and length change of the mortars were also measured to evaluate resistances to the attacking solution. The mortars were prepared by using water-cement ratio of 35%, 45% and 55%, respectively, and the water-cement ratio of pastes was fixed at 45%. Conclusively, the deterioration by sodium sulfate attack was primarily due to the formation of ettringite and thaumasite. This process of deterioration may submit the reasonable understanding on the sulfate attack mechanism of hardened cement pastes, mortars, and concretes.

This study analyzes the changes in the physical properties of grout by irradiating it with ultrasonic energy and assesses the injectability of the grout into deep rock fractures. The materials used in the research are OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) and MC (Micro Cement), and are irradiated depending on the water/cement ratio. After irradiating the grout with ultrasonic energy, viscosity, compressive strength, and particle size are analyzed, and the results of the particle size analysis were applied to Nick Barton's theory to evaluate the injectability of the grout into deep rock fractures under those conditions. It was found that the viscosity of the grout decreased after ultrasonic wave irradiation, and the rate of viscosity reduction tended to decrease as the water/cement ratio increased. Additionally, an increase in compressive strength and a decrease in particle size were observed, indicating that the grout irradiated with ultrasonic energy was more effective for injection into rock fractures.
