Raw mateials such as limestone quartzite bauxite and anhydrite were used in the production of mod-ified beloite cement. Two kinds of clinker were synthesized with relatively higher content of $C_2S$ than that of $C_4A_3{\={S}}$ Concerning $C_2S$ the main mineral component borax ($Na_2O\;2B_2O_3\;10H_2O$) was added to stimu-late hydraulic reactivity and this would be possible by stabilizing ${\alpha}'-C_2S$ at room temperature. We had in-tended to compare burning and hydraulic characteristics of clinkers with one another by varying the amount of borax addition and to study the appropriate amount of anhydrite addition needed in the strengthening of cement during hydration. It was concluded that the effective amount of borax addition ne-eded for stabilization of ${\alpha}'-C_2S$ was 5 wt% in 60wt% $C_2S$ inclusive clinker and adding anhydrite in the ra-tio of 1.3 of $SO_3/Al_3O_3$ was appropriate in the production of cement by this clinker. Only ettringite was seen to contribute to the strength without additives but C-S-H was found to form along with ettringite with the addition of borax in the initial stage of hydration.

This study conducted to understand effects of CA (CaAl2O4) and CA2 (CaAl4O7) ratio on chloride binding ability and compressive strength and pore structure of cement mortar incorporating mixture of CA and CA2. The Portland cement based specimens were mixed with the clinkers CA and CA2, and these calcium aluminate clinker mixture were replaced 0, 5, 10% by weight of cement. After all the test specimens were cured for 28 days under water curing, they were immersed in the distilled water and NaCl solution. As a result, 28 days compressive strength of all specimens was similar, and As the replacement ratio of calcium aluminate clinker in the specimen increased, Friedel's salt production tended to increase. However, it was dependent on the amount of Al2O3 in the level of 5% replacement and CA ratio in the level of 10% replacement. Through equilibrium isotherm result, it was also indicated that as replacement ratio of calcium aluminate clinker in cement matrix increased, chloride binding capacity was improved, and chloride penetration was suppressed. In this study, the specimen replaced with 10% of the calcium aluminate clinker mixture (CA 39%, CA2 60%) was remarkable to control chloride attack. We figured out necessity to understand optimal CA/CA2 ratio to effectively apply CA2 as a sustainable building material by improving the chloride binding ability in Portland cement based system.
For the raw materials of 3CaO$\cdot$3Al$_{2}$O$_{3}$$\cdot$CaSO$_{4}$(CSA) clinker manufacturing, the applications of industrial wastes such as waste shell, spent oil-refining catalyst and desulfurized gypsum were examined. The c1inkerbility of the raw mix and the behaviour of formation of clinker minerals were studied and then some hydraulic properties of cements containing the clinker were also investigated. By virtue of the high reactivity of thermally decomposed raw materials, CSA clinkers were obtained at relatively low temperature of 1250$^{\circ}C$ and thus oil-refining catalysts were more desirable than aluminium hydroxide as an aluminous raw material. The expansive cement samples showed somewhat lower flow value than that of OPC, but their compressive strengths were developed earlier and higher than that of OPC due to formation of ettringite in the early hydration time, which indicated the possibility of practical use of low-cost CSA clinker using industrial wastes only.
The clinckers were obtained when a raw mixture consisted of limestone, slags and gypsum was burned at 134$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes, and 128$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes adding $CaF_2$ as a flux. The principal compounds of these clinkers were $C_3S_2$, $\beta-C_2S$, $C_1A_3{\bar{S}}$. To investigate hydration behavior, cements were made and hydrated at constant humidity cabinet (W/C=0.5 20$\pm 1^{\circ}C$). X-ray diffractometer, SEM, and conduction calorimeter were employed to examine the hydration behavior. The hydrates were mainly C-S-H, ettringite, $Ca(OH)_2$. By the hydration of $C_3S$ and $C_4A_3\bar{S}$, the needle-like ettringite filling the inner vacant spaces of the hardened body might contribute to the rapid-hardening and high-strength phenomena. Furthermore, the hardened body became stronger due to the hydration of $C_2S$ at later period. The addition of granulated blastfurnace slags have a potential to be a blended cement.

Crack control is essential to increase the durability of concrete significantly. Healing of crack can be controlled by rehydration of unreacted clinkers at the crack surface. In this paper, by comparing the results of isothermal calorimetry test and regression analysis, the Parrot & Killoh's cement hydration model was verified and clink er hydration model was proposed. The composition and quantification of hydration products were simulated by combining kinematic hydration model and thermodynamic model. Hydration simulation was conducted using the verified and proposed hydration model, and the simulation was performed by the substitution rate of clink er. The type and quantity of the final hydration product and healing product were predicted and, in addition, the optimal cementitious material of self-healing concrete was selected using the proposed hydration model.

The cement is accomplished with CaO, SiO2, Al2O3 and Fe2O3, etc. After pulverizing materials of the limestone, the sand and the clay(shale), iron ore, the cement becomes clinker materials sintering from the rotary kiln of oxidizing atmosphere. The part in the materials of the clinker is substituted with slag, sludge etc. and it is used. because The chromium which is to be included in the clinker materials, in sintering process hexavalent chromium is converted with the chrome. Consequently it changed the type and a content of clinker materials and test hexavalent chromium of the clinkers which is manufactured.
The fine powder produced by heating and grinding of the waste concrete in the waste construction was investigated whether utilize as substitution raw material of SiO$_2$, CaO, and Al$_2$O$_3$ source for OPC clinker manufacture is possible or not. In order to synthesize OPC clinker, limestone, shale, converter slag and fly ash were used as main raw materials, and modulus was fixed LSF 91.0, SM 2.60, IM 1.60. The synthesized clinkers were characterized. The Main products of synthesized clinker were C$_3$S, ${\beta}$-C$_2$S, C$_3$A, C$_4$AF as OPC clinker at 1,43$^{\circ}C$. As a result of TG-DTA and burnability index(B.U) analysis of each raw mixtures, the formation temperature of clinker phases was similar and B.I was showed easy burning as 48.6∼51.4.

Deterioration in durability of structures due to the steel corrosion is difficult to determine whether or not corrosion is initiated and how much propagated, and moreover, repair and maintenance are not easy to deal with. Therefore, preventive treatments can be the best option to avoid the deterioration. Various methods for preventing corrosion of steel, such as electrochemical treatments, anti-corrosion agents and steel surface coatings, are being developed, but economic and environmental aspects make it difficult to apply them to in-situ field. Thus, the purpose of this study was to improve corrosion resistance by using CA-based clinker that are relatively simple and expected to be economically profitable Existing CA-based clinkers had problems such as flash setting and low strength development during the initial hydration process, but in order to solve this problem, CA clinker with low initial reactivity were used as binder in this study. The cement paste used in the experiments was replaced with CA2 clinker for 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% in OPC. And the mixture used in the chloride binding test for the extraction of water-soluble chloride was intermixed with Cl- 0.5%, 1%, 2%, and 3% by weight of binder content. To evaluate characteristic of hydration heat evolution, calorimetry analysis was performed and simultaneously chloride binding capacity and acid neutralization capacity were carried out. The identification of hydration products with curing ages was verified by X-ray diffraction analysis. The free chloride extraction test showed that the chlorine ion holding ability improved in order OC 10 > OC 30 > OC 20 > OC 0 and the pH drop resistance test showed that the resistance capability in pH 12 was OC 0 > OA 10 > OA 20 > OA 30. The XRD analyses showed that AFm phase, which can affect the ability to hold chlorine ions, tended to increase when CA2 was mixed, and that in pH12 the content of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), which indicates pH-low resistance, decreased as CA2 was mixed
