To chase maximum power point at every moment under a conventional MPPT control method, a voltage and current coming out from PV-cell are needed to be feedbacked. So, the structure of control circuit becomes so complex and the MPPT control is in risk of control failure. In the newly developed control method, the current flowing into SPE cell is the only one considerable factor. So, the structure of control circuit becomes simple and the manufacturing cost of the control device decreases. Especially, in case of a huge system of PV-SPE system, because the voltage coming out from PV-cell is not needed to be feed backed, this system can be operated much more safely. In this paper, the PV-SPE system was actually manufactured based on the simulation model of PSCAD/EMTDC program and the results tested were shown. Authors are sure that it is the most useful method to maximize power from PV to SPE with only a feedback of SPE input current.

Admission control is one of the most important congestion control mechanism to be executed at the call set up phase by regulating traffic into a network in a preventive way. An efficient QOS evaluation or bandwidth estimation method is required for call admission to be decided in real time. In this paper, we spropose a computtionally simple approximation method of estimating cell loss probability and mean cell delay for admission control of both delay sensitive and loss sensitive calls. Mixed input queueing system, where a new call combines with the existing traffic, is used as a queueing model for QOS estimation. Also traffic parameters are suggested to characterize both a new call and existing traffic. Aggregate traffic is approximated by a renewal process with these traffic parameters and then mean delay and cell loss probability are detemined using appropriate approximation formulas. The accuracy of this approximation approach is examined by comparing their results with exact analysis or simulation results of vrious mixed unput queueing systems. Based on this QOS estimation method, call admission control scheme which is traffic independent and computable in yeal time are proposed.
In the newly developed control method, the current flowing into SPE cell is the only one considerable factor. So, the structure of control circuit becomes simple and the manufacturing cost of the control device decreases. In conventional power comparison MPPT control method however, a voltage and current coming out from PV cell should be feedbacked to chase maximum power point at every moment. Then, the structure of control circuit becomes so complex and the risk of control failure is much higher than the novel MPPT control method. Therefore, PV generation system by a novel MPPT control method is especially operated much more safely in case of a huge system, because the voltage coming out from PV-cell is not needed to be feedbacked. In this paper, the PV-SPR system was actually manufactured based on the simulation model of PSCAD/EMTDC program and the results tested were shown. Authors are sure that it is the most useful method to maximize power from PV to SPE with only a feedback of SPE input current.

In this paper, we propose an analytic method for dimensioning of traffic descriptors at the leaky bucket-based UPC for VBR MPEG video traffic on ATM networks. We analytically derive cell violation probabilities at the UPC by using the proposed scene-based video traffic model, and then we show that it is possible to select sets of traffic descriptors that have the same required violation probability. For two example video traces, numerical results show that our proposed traffic descriptors dimensioning method can approximate well the simulation-based traffic control results of the real video traces. When the effective bandwidth allocation method of an ON/OFF model is used for the call admission control in the networks, we present an efficient traffic descriptor selection method by studying the allocated bandwidth to each possible traffic descriptor set.
Accurately estimation of the geo-mechanical parameters in Artificial Ground Freezing (AGF) is a most important scientific topic in soil improvement and geotechnical engineering. In order for this, one way is using classical and conventional constitutive models based on different theories like critical state theory, Hooke's law, and so on, which are time-consuming, costly, and troublous. The others are the application of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to predict considered parameters and behaviors accurately. This study presents a comprehensive data-mining-based model for predicting the Young's Modulus of frozen sand under the triaxial test. For this aim, several single and hybrid models were considered including additive regression, bagging, M5-Rules, M5P, random forests (RF), support vector regression (SVR), locally weighted linear (LWL), gaussian process regression (GPR), and multi-layered perceptron neural network (MLP). In the present study, cell pressure, strain rate, temperature, time, and strain were considered as the input variables, where the Young's Modulus was recognized as target. The results showed that all selected single and hybrid predicting models have acceptable agreement with measured experimental results. Especially, hybrid Additive Regression-Gaussian Process Regression and Bagging-Gaussian Process Regression have the best accuracy based on Model performance assessment criteria.

The market for distributed power generation based on renewable energy is increasing, particularly for standalone mini-grid applications in developing countries with limited energy resources. Stand-alone power systems (SAPS) are of special interest combined with renewable energy design in areas not connected to the electric grid. Traditionally, such systems have been powered by diesel engine generator sets (DEGS), but also hybrid systems with photovoltaic and/or wind energy conversion systems (WECS) are becoming quite common nowadays. Hybrid energy systems can now be used to generate energy consumed in remote areas and stand-alone microgrids. This paper describes the design, simulation and feasibility study of a hybrid energy system for a stand-alone power system. A simulated model is developed to investigate the design and performance of stand-alone hydrogen renewable energy systems. The analysis presented here is based on transient system simulation program (TRNSYS) with realistic ventilation load of a large store. Design of a hybrid energy system is site specific and depends on the resources available and the load demand.

A finite difference method based on MAC method is used to simulate free-surface waves around a ship. Euler equations and continuity equation are differentiated using the forward time and central space, and solved by time marching scheme. By the employment of variable mesh system in horizontal and vertical direction, the numerical accuracy of wave simulation results is grossly improved. To verify the improvement of numerical accuracy, some numerical simulations are accomplished for Wigley, Series 60($C_{b}$=0.6) and a bulk carrier model. The computational results are compared to the various experimental data and show good agreements.
A novel decision reference based method for the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of PV arrays is presented in this paper. The proposed decision reference was derived from a simplified solar cell model. This method solves the problems of conventional MPPT algorithms, such as oscillation of the operating point at the steady state and confusion under rapidly changing insolation. It is shown by simulation and experimental results that the method properly tracks a rapidly changing insolation profile. The signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the new decision reference is also higher than those of conventional P&O and INC methods. An updating subroutine was included in the proposed MPPT algorithm to compensate for temperature and aging effects.
The objectives of congestion control in ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) networks are maximum utilization of network resources, acceptable level of low cell loss and fairness among all VCs (Virtual Connections). In this paper, we present a congestion control algorithm which is based on state space model, The proposed controller uses optimal control algorithms (LQR, Mixed-LQR), where control parameters can be designed to ensure the stability of the control loop in a control theoretic sense, over the propagation delay. We show how the control mechanism can be used to design a controller to support ABR service based on feedback of explicit rates. Simulation results are presented to substantiate our claim.
Applying the theory of physiology and control systems, the visual system was studied as a regulator of impining light. The characteristics function of visual system is mainly analysed by spato-temporal characteristics based upon Enroth's model, Broca-Sulzer phenomenon and Mach effect. Some aims of this paper are as follows. (1) In order to get the excitatory and inhibitory potential of the intermediated cell layer in the retina, the exponential value, {exp(FM/kT)- $I_{mn}$ } is caculated based on the physiological theory in neuro-phenomena. (2) To show the visual characteristics by analog simulation for generating stimulus waveforms and analysis, the visual adaptation was recorded as electrical stimulation in the form of step functions. Furthermore, ti is shown that the above experimental data agrees satisfactorily with the theoretical (psychophysiological) values. This study is expected to lead to further studies concerned with human observer and human operator in control and especially pattern recognition systems.stems.
