As a representative method for mass production, a multi-cavity type mold capable of simultaneously molding products of the same shape can be applied. It has the advantage of improving the productivity from several times to several tens of times, but it may cause disadvantages which is the quality deviation with each cavity. This study, therefore, has tried to increase the cavity filling balance by using a melt flipper and a flow distance control part in the runner part of the mold. Along with this, the design and manufacturing of air vents during injection molding have been verified through experimental methods to achieve a higher level of multi-cavity filling balance and dimensional accuracy.
Macroperforations improve the sound absorption performance of porous materials in acoustic cavities and in waveguides. In an acoustic cavity, enhanced noise reduction is achieved using porous materials having macroperforations. Double porosity materials are obtained by filling these macroperforations with different poroelastic materials having distinct physical properties. The locations of macroperforations in porous layers can be chosen based on cavity mode shapes. In this paper, the effect of variation of macroporosity and double porosity in porous materials on noise reduction in an acoustic cavity is presented. This analysis is done keeping each perforation size constant. Macroporosity of a porous material is the fraction of area covered by macro holes over the entire porous layer. The number of macroperforations decides macroporosity value. The system under investigation is an acoustic cavity having a layer of poroelastic material rigidly attached on one side and excited by an internal point source. The overall sound pressure level (SPL) inside the cavity coupled with porous layer is calculated using mixed displacement-pressure finite element formulation based on Biot-Allard theory. A 32 node, cubic polynomial brick element is used for discretization of both the cavity and the porous layer. The overall SPL in the cavity lined with porous layer is calculated for various macroporosities ranging from 0.05 to 0.4. The results show that variation in macroporosity of the porous layer affects the overall SPL inside the cavity. This variation in macroporosity is based on the cavity mode shapes. The optimum range of macroporosities in poroelastic layer is determined from this analysis. Next, SPL is calculated considering periodic and nodal line based optimum macroporosity. The corresponding results show that locations of macroperforations based on mode shapes of the acoustic cavity yield better noise reduction compared to those based on nodal lines or periodic macroperforations in poroelastic material layer. Finally, the effectiveness of double porosity materials in terms of overall sound pressure level, compared to equivolume double layer poroelastic materials is investigated; for this the double porosity material is obtained by filling the macroperforations based on mode shapes of the acoustic cavity.
It is well known that the family-mold has an advantage to reduce the cost for production and mold. However, defects are frequently occurred by over packing the smaller volume cavity during molding, especially when the family-mold has a volumetric difference between two cavities. In this study, the cavity-filling imbalance was confirmed by the temperature and the pressure sensors, and a variable-runner system was developed for balancing the cavity-filling. Experiments of balancing the cavity filling was carried out in the family-mold with the variable-runner system, and balancing the cavity-filling was confirmed by changing the cross-sectional area of a runner in the variable-runner system with the temperature and pressure sensors. The influence of the injection speed to the balancing-capability of the variable-runner system was also examined in the experiment.
Small injection molded articles such as lens and mobile product parts are usually molded in multi-cavity mold. The problem occurring in multi-cavity molding is flow unbalance among the cavities. The flow unbalance affects the dimensions and physical properties of molded articles. First of all, the origin of flow unbalance is geometrical unbalance of the delivery system. However, even the geometry of the delivery system is well balanced, cavity unbalance occurs. This comes from the temperature distributions in the cross-section of runner. Temperature distribution depends upon injection speed because heat generation near runner wall is high at high injection speed. Among the operational conditions, injection speed is the most significant process variable affecting the filling unbalances in multi-cavity injection molding. In this study, experimental study of flow unbalance has been conducted for various injection speeds and materials. Also, the filling unbalances were compared with CAE results. The dimensions and weights of multi-cavity molded parts were examined. The results showed that the filling unbalances vary according to the injection speeds and resins. Subsequently, the unbalanced filling and pressure distribution in the multi-cavity affect the dimensions and physical states of molded parts.
The authers have studied the marginal leakage on various filing materials : Composite resin, Polycarboxylate cement, Zinc phosphate cement, Silicate cement and Zinc-oxide eugenol cement, by means of penetration of 2% aquous methylene blue between cavity walls and filing materials at body temperature and at thermal changs in the range of 4~60℃ The results revealed as follows.
1) All the filling materials revealed the penetration of dye between cavity walls and filling materials.
2) Zinc-oxide eugenol cement was the most effective to prevent the dye penetration on the contrary silicate cement cases showed greatest leakage at 37℃ and at temperature changes in range of 4-60℃.
3) The composite resin showed moderate leakage either at 37℃ or at thermal changes
4) Marginal obstructions of polycarboxylate cement were unsatisfactory at 37℃ and at temperature changes.

The collapse of the underground cavity can cause the abrupt local subsidence of the ground surface. It can be hazardous to the stability of road and building for human activity. Therefore it is necessary to develop reinforcement methods for the filling of the underground cavity. This study was executed to improve the material quality and systems to fill the calcium-aluminate mineral $(C_{12}A_7)$ environmentally, and minimize the loss of filling materials for the steep underground cavity. Filling material which was developed in this study is composed of rapid hardening material and additives. The developed material had rapid hardening and non-separation ability in the water cavity condition, so it made the effective underground dam in the cavity with prevention of material loss when it was poured in the water cavity. Results of heavy metal leaching test for environmental assessment showed that it was environmentally suiTable material for the filling in the mine cavity.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sealing properties of endodontic cavity filling materials according to the time intervals after filling. Access cavities were prepared in extracted human premolar or molar teeth and filled with caviton, zinc oxide eugenol cement, zinc oxide eugenol cement with a base of gutta percha stopping and gutta percha stopping. After filling at the intervals of immediate, 2 days and 2 weeks the teeth were immersed for 2 weeks in 1% methylene blue solutions. Longitudinal sections were obtained from approximately center of teeth and the depth of dye penetration into the access cavities were observed by 10${\times}$macrolens. The following results were obtained. I. All the materials experimented showed varying depth of dye penetration. 2. Of the material tested, caviton showed the best marginal sealing qualities regardless of the time intervals after filling and the sealing properties of the gutta percha stopping was the worst. 3. Both in zinc oxide eugenol cement and zinc oxide eugenol cement with a base of gutta percha stopping, the fillings allowed to mature for 2 days in normal saline solution showed the best sealing properties and those with no maturing time revealed the worst sealing qualities. 4. The sealing qualities of zinc oxide eugenol cement with a base of gutta percha stopping revealed slightly lower depth of dye penetration than that of zinc oxide eugenol cements.

Purpose: To test the apical leakage prevention performance of three different materials through protein leakage procedures using bovine serum albumin (BSA) and Bradford protein reagent. Materials and Methods: A total of 60 human single-rooted teeth were divided into 4 groups, and conventional root canal filling was done. The root was cut 3 mm from the apex, and a cavity was formed. Proroot MTA (MTA), Fuji II LC (GI), Fuji II LC with XP bond (GIA), and Caviton (CA) were used as experimental materials to fill the cavity in a retrograde filling manner. The extent of BSA leakage was then measured with a ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer 24, 48, and 72 hours after filling. Result: After 24 hours, among the 15 teeth of each group, 2 in MTA, 4 in GI, 3 in GIA, and 7 in CA showed leakage. After 48 hours, 3 in MTA, 5 in GI, 5 in GIA, and 10 in CA had leakage and discoloration. After 72 hours, among the 15 teeth of each group, 3 in MTA, 6 in GI, 5 in GIA, and 10 in CA showed leakage. The leakage in the CA group was greater than that in the MTA group at 48 and 72 hours based on Fisher's exact test (P=0.025), and the difference was statistically significant. Similarly, the leakage in the CA group was greater than that in the MTA group over time based on the Kaplan-Meier survival estimate (P=0.011), and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: Glass ionomer, glass ionomer after adhesive application, and MTA all showed leakage. Caviton showed greater leakage compared to MTA 48 and 72 hours after filling, and the difference was statistically significant; thus suggesting that Caviton is not appropriate as retrograde filling material considering its sealing ability.
Semi-Solid Forming Process(Thixoforming, Rheocasting) is a novel forming process which has some advantages compared with conventional die casting, squeeze casting and hot/cold forging. In this study. Thixoforming process was selected as analysis processing in terms of billet handling and easiness of automation process. The Thixoforming process consists of reheating process of billet, billet handling, filling inot the die cavity and solidification of SSM part. In filling process, two rheology models which were Newtonian and Non-Nettonian model (Ostwald-deWaele)were verified with experimental results. The Ostwald-deWaele model shows the good agreement to the real flow and filling phenomena in die cavity. To give a boost the economical efficiency of Thixoforming process and to ensure the good forming result, reheating device coupled die set was proposed and the initial billet temperature for system that was found from experimental resluts. This study presents an overview of application of numerical analysis for simulation of semi-solid metal forming process to reduce the lead time for development of manufacturing part in industrial field.
The purpose of this study was the observe the toxic effects of root canal sealers in 108 white rats. Experimental animals were divided into control and experimental groups. Theree representative types of materials, such as AH26, Z.O.E. and F.R. were used in this study. Cavities were prepared on the left mandibular area of 108 white rats. Three different sealers were placed in as experiment and bone cavities were left without filling as control. The experimental animals were sacrificed by cervical dislocation at the intervals of 1, 3, 7, 14, 28 and 49 days after filling. Each specimen was fixed with 10% neutral formalin solution, decalcified with 5% nitric acid, embedded in paraffin and sectioned 5-7${\mu}$. in thickness. The paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin - Eosin were observed through the ordinary light microscope. The results were as follows; 1. Slight toxic effect to surrounding tissue were found in every experimental specimen. 2. AH26 showed the highest inflammatory response, and F.R. showed the lowest inflammatory response which subsided and replaced by fibrosis at 4 weeks after filling. 3. The cavity filled materials, such as implanted root canal sealers, blood clots and necrotic tissue, showed a tendency to be absorbed gradually proportioned to the experimental periods. A small amount of cavity filled materials were observed in the bone cavities after 4 weeks. 4. Fibroblastic proliferation began to produce fibrous capsule around the bone cavity in 2 weeks after filling. Fibrosis was prominent at 4 weeks after filling. 5. Osteoblastic activity of surrounding bone was observed at first in 2 weeks after filling and prominent in 4 weeks after filling. Osteoblastic activity showed an increasing effect as the time prolonged. 6. Surrounding tissue of the bone cavities showed the features of tissue destruction and had very severe inflammatory response at an initial stage. Above-mentioned appeared to be recovered gradually proportioned to the experimental periods.
