소형선박용 200마력급 Water Jet의 유동특성에 관한 수치해석 (A Numerical Analysis on Flow Characteristic of 200HP Grade Water Jet for Small Ship)

  • Water jet propulsion system has low efficiency than screw propeller at low speed, but has been applied in high speed ship due to its better cavitation performance and high rotation capacity. In this study, a numerical analysis was conduct to understand the flow in the propulsion system of 200HP grade water jet for small ship. As the result, it could be confirmed that total pressure and force of the flow was increased through the impeller and the straight-ability of discharging flow to outlet was improved by guide vane. Also, the reliability of numerical analysis was secured by comparing peripheral velocity calculated by design values with that calculated by numerical analysis.

  • The design method for trans-cavitating propellers is considered as the combination of super-and sub-cavitating propellers. Especially the design method of the super-cavitating region of the propeller blade is elaborated. A design example is shown. Encouraging test results obtained in the Korea Research Institute of Ship and Ocean (KRISO) cavitation tunnel of a model designed by the present method are discussed.

  • 액체 로켓엔진의 산화제 분사기에 대한 유출 특성을 고찰하였다. 공동 유동 영역에서 유출 특성에 대한 수치해석 결과를 구하였으며 실험 결과와 비교하여 정량적인 정확성을 확인하였다. 유출계수는 공동 유동의 경우, 공동 수에 비례하였고 공동이 발생하지 않을 경우, 공동 수의 영향을 받지 않았다. 반면에 레이놀즈 수는 유출계수에 큰 영향을 미치지 않았다. 레이놀즈 수가 증가하면 유출계수는 약간 증가하였으며 이는 마찰 손실의 상대적인 감소로 풀이된다.

  • 본 연구는 다공성 재질의 목을 가진 벤츄리관 공기방울 발생장치의 설계를 위해 수행되었다. 주어진 공급 유량 조건 하에서 다공성 재질을 통해 공급되는 공기방울의 공급 성능 최대화를 위한 벤츄리관의 길이와 직경을 결정하기 위해 2상 전산유동해석에 기초한 최적화 설계를 수행하였다. 이러한 일련의 연구 수행 결과를 통해 다공성 재질을 통해 공급되는 공기방울의 공급 성능 최대화를 위한 공급유량과 이들 설계변수들 관계를 규명하였다.

  • Many researchers have been trying to improve the propulsion efficiency of a propeller. In this study, the numerical analysis is carried out for the POW(Propeller Open Water test) performance of a propeller equipped with an energy saving device called PHVC(Propeller Hub Vortex Control). PHVC is aimed to control the propeller hub vortex behind the propeller so that the rotational kinetic energy loss can be reduced. The unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes(URANS) equations are assumed as the governing flow equations and are solved by using a commercial CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) software, where SST k-ω model is selected for turbulence closure. The computed characteristic values, thrust, torque and propulsion efficiency coefficients for the target propeller with and without PHVC and the local flows in the propeller wake region are validated by the model test results of KRISO LCT(Large Cavitation Tunnel). It is concluded from the present numerical results that CFD can be a good promising method in the assessment of the hydrodynamic performance of PHVC in the design stage.

nT-T/n 단면형상을 갖는 프로펠러 뿌리 필렛의 구조 성능 분석과 설계방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structural Performance and the Design of Propeller Root Fillet Surfaces having nT-T/n section)

  • The blade root fillets which have strong influences on the performance of propellers in the both structural and hydrodynamic points of view, are mechanical parts for smooth connection surface with a blade and a hub. A few related researches (Sabol, 1983; Kennedy, 1997) have noted that 3T-T/3 double radius section design would be suitable for reducing Stress Concentration Factor(SCF) and increasing Cavitation Inception Speed(CIS). In this paper, it is confirmed that this compound cross-section design has come close to the optimum solution in the shape optimization standpoint so that it could protect the propeller blade under the frequent and various loading cases. On that basis, we suggest the definite and simple fillet design methodology that has the cross-section with nT-T/n compound radius and elliptic shape which could sustain the given derivatives information as well as the offsets at the boundary and all inner region of the fillet surface. In addition, the result of design is presented in form of IGES file format in order to connect with NC machine seamlessly.

컨테이너선용 여러 가지 전타의 성능에 대한 실험적 비교연구 (An Experimental Comparison Study on Various Full-Spade Rudder Performance for Container Carrier)

  • Recently, according to the growth of demand about large container carrier, the studies for cavitation of semi-spade rudder were increased. In spite of many effort to solve, the fundamental solution can not be found. So, the studies for full-spade rudder are increasing to solve. In Pusan national university, the studies for full-spade twisted rudder and full-spade wavy twist rudder were carried out. However, most studies are carried out in numerical analysis and the many studies of experimental comparison between each rudder are not exist. This paper describe design history of full-spade rudder (twist rudder, wavy twist rudder) for KCS (KRISO Container Ship) and compare performance of each designed full-spade rudder about resistance and self-propulsion with conventional rudder (semi-spde rudder). The measurement about designed rudder's rudder force will be performed near future.

통합형 오일 정제 시스템의 개발 (Development of an Integrated Oil Purification System)

  • This study presents the development of an integrated oil purification system consisting of moisture removal, oil flushing, and oil filtering devices. In this system, the oil flushing device is combined with a micro-bubble generator. Oil purification is necessary for ensuring the high performance of the lubricant through the efficient removal of contaminants and thus enables good maintenance of mechanical systems. The developed purification system removes moisture, varnish, and solid particles. Moreover, during oil purification, the oil flushing device separates foreign materials and contaminants remaining in the lubricating oil piping or mechanical systems. The microbubble generator, which is combined with the oil flushing device, can separate harmful contaminants, such as sludge, wear particles, and rust, from piping or lubrication systems through the cavitation effect. Moisture is removed using a double high-vacuum chamber, while sludge and varnish are removed via electro-absorption using a high-voltage generator. Additionally, the total maintenance cost of the system is reduced through the use of domestically fabricated cartridge filters composed of glass fiber and cellulose. The heater, which maintains the temperature of the lubricant at 60℃, can process 41,000 L of lubricant simultaneously. Multiple tests confirmed that the proposed integrated purification system exhibits good performance in oil flushing and removal of water and varnish.

Numerical investigation of water-entry characteristics of high-speed parallel projectiles

  • In this study, an attempt has been made to investigate the water-entry characteristics of the high-speed parallel projectile numerically. The shear stress transport k-𝜔 turbulence model and the Zwart-Gerber-Belamri cavitation model based on the Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes method were used. The grid independent inspection and grid convergence index is carried out and verified. The influences of the parallel water-entry on flow filed characteristics, trajectory stability and drag reduction performance for different values of initial water-entry speed (𝜈0 = 280 m/s, 340 m/s, 400 m/s) and clearance between the parallel projectiles (Lp = 0.5D, 1.0D, 2.0D, 3.0D) are presented and analyzed in detail. Under the condition of the parallel water-entry, it can be found that due to the intense interference between the parallel projectiles, the distribution of cavity is non-uniform and part of the projectile is exposed to water, resulting in the destruction of the cavity structure and the decline of trajectory stability. In addition, the parallel projectile suffers more severe lateral force that separates the two projectiles. The drag reduction performance is impacted and the velocity attenuation is accelerated as the clearance between the parallel projectiles reduces.

돼지분뇨 슬러리 전처리가 메탄 생성 효율에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Pre-Treatment of Pig Slurry for Methane Production in Anaerobic Digestion Process)

  • 본 연구는 돼지분뇨 슬러리를 이용하여 혐기소화 하는 과정에서 소화원료 중에 포함된 고형물의 크기를 감소시키는 전 처리 기술의 적용에 따른 메탄생성 효율을 분석하기 위하여 수행되었다. 소화원료의 입자 크기 감소는 혐기소화 과정에서의 가수분해 정도를 높여서 혐기소화 효율을 증진시킨다. 본 시험에서 적용한 전 처리 방법으로는 오존을 이용한 방법, 캐비테이션을 이용한 방법 그리고 분쇄장치를 이용하여 물리적으로 고형물 크기를 줄이는 방법 등을 적용했다. 전 처리 방법에 따른 메탄가스 발생량은 분쇄 방법, 오존 적용, 캐비테이션 적용 방법 순으로 높게 나타났으며, 두 가지의 전 처리 방법을 병합하여 적용하는 복합공정으로 처리하였을 경우에는 분쇄 처리 후 오존 처리, 캐비테이션 처리 후 오존 처리, 분쇄 처리 후 캐비테이션 처리를 적용하는 순으로 전 처리효과가 높게 나타났다. 돼지분뇨 슬러리를 두 가지 조합의 병합 공정으로 처리하였을 경우 단독 공정에 비해 메탄 발생량이 약 20% 이상 증가하였다. 평균 메탄함량 역시 분쇄 처리 후 오존 처리를 병합한 처리구에서 높게 나타났다. 돼지분뇨 슬러리를 소화원료로 이용하여 시험용 소화조 운영하였을 때 가스 발생량 평균값과 메탄의 평균농도는 전 처리를 하지 않은 경우에는 각각 298.8L와 55.7%인 반면에 전 처리를 실시한 시험구에서는 각각 325.9L와 59.7% 수준을 나타냄으로써 돼지분뇨 슬러리의 경우에서도 전 처리의 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 전 처리를 하였을 경우가 처리하지 않은 구에 비해 바이오가스 중의 메탄함량은 높고 CO2 함량은 상대적으로 더 낮게 나타났다. 돼지분뇨 슬러리에 대해 전 처리를 수행하였을 경우가 전 처리를 하지 않은 경우에 비해 유입 VS당 가스발생량도 더 많았다.
