Infrastructure development as national project suffers from social conflict which is one of main risk to be managed. Social conflicts have a negative impact on not only the social integration but also the national economy as they require enormous social costs to be solved. Against this backdrop, this study analyzes social conflict using articles published by online news media based on web-crawling and natural language processing (NLP) techniques. As an illustrative case, the Jeju Naval Base (JNB) project which is one of representative conflict case in South Korea is analyzed. Total of 21,788 articles and representative keywords are identified annually. Additionally, comparative analysis is conducted between the extracted keywords and actual events occurred during the project. The authors explain actual events in the JNB project based on the extracted words by the year. This study contributes to analyze social conflict and to extract meaningful information from unstructured data.

A Project planning is one of the most important processes that determines success and failure of a project. Scope management for a project planning is also essential job in system integration project. However project planning is very difficult because lots of factors and their relationships should be considered. Therefore project planning of system integration project has been done by project manager's own knowledge and experience. It is necessary to develop an algorithm of WBS(Work Breakdown Structure) identification & document selection along to project's specificity in project management system using AI technique. This study presents a methodology to cope with the limitations of the existing studies that have uniformly been customizing the methodology by only project complexity. We propose PPSM(Project planning support module) based on determination rules regarding route maps and document levels, and CBR(Case-Based Reasoning) for WBS identification.

This report describes the unusual ultrasonography features of chronic hypertrophic pyloric gastropathy in two dogs - a 12-year-old neutered male Pekingese (case 1) and an 11-year-old spayed female Shih Tzu (case 2) - with chronic vomiting and weight loss. Chronic hypertrophic pyloric gastropathy can be observed as the focal thickening of the pyloric wall with normal layers on ultrasonography images. However, in case 1, gastric neoplasia could not be ruled out because of the presence of regional lymph node enlargement; in case 2, an intussusception was tentatively diagnosed because of a mass within the pylorus, which appeared to be connected to the descending duodenum on the longitudinal image. In both cases, focally thickened pyloric walls were demonstrated through exploratory laparotomy, and the histopathological diagnosis of chronic hypertrophic pyloric gastropathy was made. Ultrasonography is useful for imaging the gastrointestinal tract, and the typical ultrasonographic features of chronic hypertrophic pyloric gastropathy have been reported. However, the possibility, that chronic hypertrophic pyloric gastropathy can present unusual ultrasonographic findings similar to those of tumors or intussusception, should also be considered.

The purpose of this case study is to find out current issue and improvement directions of the application of 3D and 4D to the construction project including building, highway and railway projects. For the study, the main functions of the 3D and 4D simulation of current system are analyzed and proposed improvement directions for 3D CAD utilization in 4D environment. Case studies of CAD application include land development for housing complex, highway project and express railway project.

Concurrent Engineering is one of the information-based product development approach. Yet, the method of organizing the project team for the concurrent engineering is not clear. This study focuses on deriving a method to organize an information-based project team. The model consists of 4 layers : IT infrastructure, organization of the information-based project team, operation of the project team, an organization culture. Based on an analysis of new product development case, this study attempts to verify the model and to suggest more effective way of organization design and management for new product development.

This paper presents a model for R&D project selection and evaluation system design developed through literature review. The model emphasizes the fitness between the five elements of the system : evaluation phase and purpose, personnel and organization, evaluation critiria and decision model, evaluation form and procedure, and projects. The model was applied in real situation as a test case. The important findings are that a good project selection and evaluation model contributes only partially to the effectiveness of the project selection and that system development and implementation activity is a dynamic and multi-facetted learning process.

This study uses a hybrid estimation tool for effective cost data management of building projects, and develops a realistic cost estimation model. The method makes use of newly available information as the project progresses, and project cost and percentage progress are analyzed and used as inputs for the developed system. For model development, case-based reasoning (CBR) is proposed, as it enables complex nonlinear mapping. This study also investigates analytic hierarchy process (AHP) for weight generation and applies them to a real project case. Real case studies are used to demonstrate and validate the benefits of the proposed approach. By using this method, an evaluation of actual project performance can be developed that appropriately considers the natural variability of construction costs.

Early cost estimates are important to decision-making for a construction project. Moreover, the possibility of reducing the project cost is getting less as the project is progressed. Case-based reasoning (CBR), which can be viewed as an effective method for early cost estimating, is widely utilized recently. Early cost estimates using CBR have advantages over the traditional ones as they produce reasonable outputs and self-studying is possible by simply adding new cases. Case-based reasoning is composed of a cycle of retrieve, reuse, revise, and retain process. However, in the majority of research cases, they are focused on how to retrieve the similar cases, instead of revising the cases which is expected to increase accuracy results of cost estimation. This research suggests a method of revising retrieved similar cases in a GA-CBR cost model which is widely studied and utilized for early cost estimating recently. To validate the proposed method, case study is conducted based on Korean public apartment projects.

With various success stories of crowdfunding, government's establishment of crowdfunding act, and expected rapid growth of crowdfunding market, the potential ripple effect of crowdfunding on our society is anticipated to be enormous. This study investigates the influential factors and their impacts on the likelihood of project success in donation-based crowdfunding through the DonorsChoose case. The authors analyze the characteristics of project creator, characteristics of project, and behaviors of project participants in relation to the success or failure of the corresponding project. Consequently, the authors found that participants of donation-based crowdfunding exhibit altruistic behaviors and obtained the following specific results: First, donation participation and social capital of the project creator, and marginal help utility of receivers positively affect the success of project. Second, experience of past project creation of the project creator negatively affects the success of project. Third, past donations of the project creator to others' projects, when not appropriately signaled like on the DonorsChoose platform, may not exert a positive influence on the success of project and the reciprocity principle may not work.
