Concrete has cracks from shrinkage that necessarily result from in hardening process. Shrinkage-reduced concrete developed for crack reduction was utilized at a sample construction project. As a result, it is confirmed that crack initation ratio was remarkably reduced when compared to the case of normal concrete utilization. Additional sample project is supposed to use delay joints as well as srinkage-reduced concrete. Subsequently, the result will be reported. The greatest factor which affects in drying shrinkage is unit quantity of water. However, there are a lot off difficulties in field supervision because proper measuring means is not presented in present standard. Therfore, problems depending on ready-mixed concrete concrete companies should be improved by preparing the related standard assoon as possible.
A literature review was conducted to gather informations available on the welding metallurgy of aluminum alloys, emphasized on characteristics in the heat affected zone(HAZ). Nominal metallurgical reactions that occur in aluminum alloys provide a basis for understanding aluminum welding metallurgy. However, welding reactions differ to some extent because of the relatively short times involved, and the non-isothermal heating excursed. For non-heat treatable alloys, welding primarily affects these alloys by annealing (recrystallization and growth) and to a less extent, changes in low temperature precipitates. In the case of heat treatable alloys, the resulting HAZ properties depend upon alloy composition, starting temper, heat input and post weld heat treatments.
The purpose of this study is to develop a multireservoir water balance model which may be used to evaluate rural water demands such as agricultural water, domestic water, industrial water and livestock water and to determine effective storage of reservoir. The model was verified to compare the observed reservoir release data with the simulated reservoir release data of the existing Munsan and Dongbu reservoirs located in the Gisan rural district for 3 years('87~'89). For model application, the effective storages of existing reservoirs(Munsan & Dongbu) were evaluated for 10-year frequency drought and that of newly planned reservoirs(Kumbok & Kudong) were determined for 10-year frequency drought. In addition, the behavior of effective storages for existing reservoirs were analyzed in the case of introducing new reservoirs in the existing system.
The ageing behavior of Cu-bearing HSLA steels was studied by using Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), Transmission electron microscopy and hardness tester. Two heat evolution peaks were observed during DSC scans over the temperature range of 25~590$^{\circ}C$ at a heating rate of 5$^{\circ}C$/min. The peaks appeared in low (241∼319$^{\circ}C$ : HSLA-A, 224∼310$^{\circ}C$ : HSLA-B) and high temperature (514∼590$^{\circ}C$ : HSLA-A, 451∼558$^{\circ}C$ : HSLA-B) are attributed to the formation of coherent Cu-clusters and noncoherent $\varepsilon$-Cu phase, respectively. It was confirmed that as ageing proceeds, the coherent bcc Cu-clusters transform to noncoherent fcc $\varepsilon$-Cu phase. In the case of the ageing to peak hardness at 300$^{\circ}C$ and 400$^{\circ}C$, the coherent Cu-clusters contributed to the hardening. As ageing time and temperature increase over peak hardness, noncoherent $\varepsilon$-Cu are formed and hardness decreases.
In this study, high temperature tensile properties of high tensile strength steels(POSTEN60, POSTEN80) were investigated by elevated temperature tensile test. According toe the results, high temperature tensile strength of POSTEN60 deteriorated slowly to 100$^{\circ}C$. As the temperature went up the tensile strength became better because of blue shortness and it deteriorated radically after reached to the maximum value around 300$^{\circ}C$. For the POSTEN80, high temperature tensile strength deteriorated slowly to 200$^{\circ}C$.As the temperature went up the tensile strength became better and it deteriorated slowly to 600$^{\circ}C$ after reached to the maximum value around 300$^{\circ}C$. Strain of high tensile strength steels at the elevated temperature increased radically after the mercury rose to 600$^{\circ}C$. The strain hardening ratio of POSTEN60 was larger then that of POSTEN80 at the elevated temperature as in the case at the room temperature and it became smaller radically after the mercury rose to 400$^{\circ}C$.
This study has been conducted to develope the combined heat treating technique of gas carburising - gas nitriding and gas carburising to improve the hot working performance of type H3 hot work tool steel. Case depth and carbrides coarsening were increased with increasing carburising temperature and time, respectively. Surface hardness showed decreasing tendency with increasing 2nd tempering temperature after carburising treatment. After carburising, 2nd treatment at 500 to 600 was chosen according to a hardness demand of final product. High temperature tempering resistance showed more excellent quality during such carburising-nitriding or carburising than complex treatment as after conventional hardening.
For the structural integrity of large and complex structures such as railway vehicle, the in-field diagnosis of mechanical properties of the structures is needed, and especially, the mechanical characteristics of the weldment must be carefully evaluated. But, conventional standard testing methods having destructive procedures are not applicable to in-field assessment of mechanical property variations within weldment because they needs the limitations of specimen size and geometry. In this paper, to overcome this problems, the advanced indentation technique (AIS) is introduced for simple and non-destructive/in-field testing of weldment of industrial structures. This test measures indentation load-depth curve during indentation and analyzes the mechanical properties related to deformation and fracture. First of all, flow properties such as yield strength, tensile strength and work hardening index can be evaluated through the analysis of the deformation behavior beneath the spherical indenter. Additionally, case studies of advanced indentation techniques are introduced.
In the case of conventional ultra-fast hardness membrane waterproofing material (polyurea, etc.), damage such as breakage or tearing occurred frequently at the time of cracking of the surface after waterproofing. In this study, it is suggested that a waterproof layer can not cope with the occurrence of cracks at the same time by applying the soft type waterproofing material of soft type at the lower part of the construction method (securing of elongation) To minimize the possibility of water resistance.
Nonlinear vibrations of an Euler-Bernoulli beam resting on a nonlinear elastic foundation are discussed. In search of approximate analytical solutions, the classical multiple scales (MS) and the multiple scales Lindstedt Poincare (MSLP) methods are used. The case of primary resonance is investigated. Amplitude and phase modulation equations are obtained. Steady state solutions are considered. Frequency response curves obtained by both methods are contrasted with each other with respect to the effect of various physical parameters. For weakly nonlinear systems, MS and MSLP solutions are in good agreement. For strong hardening nonlinearities, MSLP solutions exhibit the usual jump phenomena whereas MS solutions are not reliable producing backward curves which are unphysical.
Analytical solutions for the transient temperature distribution and quasi-static thermal stresses which arise in a thin circular disk of finite radius subjected to an instantaneous point source acting in its interior have been obtained. And the solutions have been extended to the case of a moving heat source with the aid of the Duhamel's superposition integral. The solutions given are in the form of double infinite serieses, and their numerical results have been compared with the experimental temperature histories. It can be found out that the theoretical histories of thermal stresses show a good agreement with the experimental results and the theoretical histories of thermal stresses show a good qualitative agreement with a physical phenomena. The solutions can be applied to the problems such as a flame hardening of the cylindrical machine elements and a circular patch welding or a circular cutting of the structural member.
