Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate DITI (Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging)'s potential for diagnosis and indicator of abdominal cold hypersensitivity treatment from the clinical case study. Methods: The patient was a 35-year-old woman who was suffered by general coldness, sweating and general pain. The patient was treated by Herb medicine, Acupuncture treatment, Moxa treatment and Physical Treatment. The progress of symptoms was evaluated by checking the change of VAS, and inspecting the DITI. We studied the statistical significance from the difference of DITI results before and after treatment by paired T-test using SPSS windows (version 12.0). Results: The general coldness, sweating and general pain of this patient have declined, especially the abdominal coldness improvement showing. As a results, the temperature of four abdominal sites(GV4,6,12,17) after treatment were statistically higher than those before treatment. With comparison of Indang, DITI difference of abdominal sites before and after treatment were statistically significant from paired T-tests. Conclusion: The results suggest that DITI can be used for the diagnosis and assessment of abdominal cold hypersensitivity treatment.
In a daily life these days, the safety and the comfort are considered very important. As the same as other areas, the good maintenance of fire protection systems and the fire drill plans in buildings can minimize the loss of human life and the property in case of fires. In this paper, a survey has been conducted to investigate the maintenance status of the fire protection systems of apartment buildings, shopping center and office buildings. Both practical procedures for checking the systems and for fire drills and strategic plans to minimize the losses in case of fires are suggested by analyzing how well the occupants in the buildings acknowledge the evacuation drills when the fire occurs.
In the present study, we intended to investigate whether cationic polyamines including poly-L-Iysine (PLL) and poly-L-arginine (PLA) induce cytotoxicities to cultured hamster tracheal surface epithelial (HTSE) cells. Confluent HTSE cells were chased for 30 min in the presence of PLL or PLA of different molecular weights. Possible cytotoxicities of PLL or PLA were assessed by measuring both Lactate Dehy- drogenase (LDH) release during treatment and the number of floating cells after treatment and by checking the possible changes on the morphology of HTSE cells during treatment. The results were as follows: in the case of treatment of PLL or rLA of which molecular weight is about 78,000 and 92,000, respectively, (1) there was significant release of LDH during treatment, (2) the number of floating cells were significantly increased after treatment and (3) there were significant changes on the morphology of cultured HTSE cells. However, in the case of PLL or PLA of which molecular weight is under 10,000 (about 9,600 and 8,900, respectively), no significant signs of cytotoxicities mentioned above were detected. We found that cationic polyamines might be non-toxic under specific range of molecular weights and suggest that the cytotoxicity of cationic polyamine might depend on the molecular sizes of each cationic polyamine.
Given a state, it is essential to for the finite state model analysis (such as model checking) to decide whether or not the state is reachable. W a site of the model is small, the whole state space is to be explored exhaustively. However, it is very difficult or even impossible if a size of the model is large. In this case, the model can be reduced into a smaller one via abstraction which does not allow e false positive error. this paper, we devise such an abstraction and apply it to the Nemorize game solving. As a result, unsolved game due to the state explosion problem is solved with the proposed abstraction.

Safety critical systems require exhaustive verification of safety properties, because even a single corner-case fault can cause a critical safety failure. However, existing verification approaches are too costly in terms of time and computational resource required, making it hard to be applied in practice. In this paper, we implemented a tool for minimizing the size of the verification target w.r.t. verification properties to check, based on program slicing technique[1]. The efficacy of program slicing using our tool is demonstrated in a case study with a verification target Trampoline[3], which is an open source automotive operating system compliant with OSEK/VDX[2]. Experiments have shown enhanced performance in verification, with a 71% reduction in the size of the code.
This paper illustrates potential applications of POM/OPM/BOR, which are used for deterministic reliability evaluation in the operation mode (operational planning and operating) in Korea Power System. Deterministic reliability evaluation in this paper bases the philosophy of the marginality and the limitation of physical quantity (voltage and thermal in main) under contingency analysis. The POM/OPM/BOR tools have been developed by V&R (Vaimann and Research) in USA. Before case studies, main frame and feature of the tools are introduced in brief. Case studies of the actual power system of Korea are demonstrated for checking the application possibility of POM/OPM/BOR.

A method is proposed for the adaptive control of linear time varying discrete systems. The stability problem of the model reference adaptive control systems is considered by means of the properties of hypergtability, The hyperstability approach also allows for solutions to the adaptation mechanism. Employing the principles of the continuous time case with output feedback renders it to the discrete case which simplified the system design. The system response is obtained by applying the ramp and step input as a reference signal to the system respectively. With checking the adaptation time for ramp and step input the validity of proposed algorithm was confirmed by the computer simulation.
Surgical curettage or en bloc excision are the usual choice of treatment for osteoma. Local recurrence of osteoma after surgical treatment is not very common. We report a case of osteoma recurred at the grafted bone. A $5{\times}8cm$ sized osteoma of frontal bone was excised and then the defect was covered with calvarian bone and rib bone. Six years after reconstruction, recurrence from grafted area was noted. We completely removed the osteoma with enough normal tissue around it, after checking that the grafted bone has changed into an osteoma through a bicoronal incision. Then we covered the defect with a rib bone. The tissue was confirmed histologically as an osteoma. The recurrence of the tumor at the bone grafted site after osteoma excision is probably due to the fact that we covered grafted bone with periosteum left over osteoma. Therefore, we can learn that when we excise osteoma, galea should be carefully separated from the periphery of the tumor and that the periosteum should be completely removed, to prevent the osteoma from recurrence.
In this research, split-type complex yarn of 20:80, 40:60, 50:50 nylon6/polyester composition ratio was used in order to impose unique sense on split-type complex woven. After treating both split-type complex yarn of each ratio and its produced woven in alkali solution, we got the following results by checking physical properties based on alkali proportion and treatment time. Under the condition of NaOH 20% in this experiment, it took approximately double time 20% loss of weight. The loss of weight became high when polyester proportion of N/P(nylon6/polyester) composition ratio was low, in the same fineness yarn. Even though polyester proportion was low, the loss of weight was low when the fineness was high. N/P division was well processed at about 25% loss of weight under the condition of NaOH 20%, treatment temperature $50^{\circ}C$, and treatment time 60 minutes. The research provides that the loss of weight should be processed around treatment time 24 hours in the case of NaOH concentration 15%, and treatment time 15 hours in the case of NaOH concentration 18%, respectively, in order to achieve N/P woven division ratio of about 70%-80% in industrial fields.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical decision making (CDM) development process throughout the comparison between novice and expert physical therapist as well as develop a CDM model for physical therapists under the fee-for-service (FFS) and physicians' prescriptions. Methods: Purposive sampling techniques were used to select 10 clinical physical therapists paired into five groups (each pair consisted of 1 novice and 1 expert physical therapist). The coding schemes were extracted from interviews and through within- and across-case analyses, cases were summarized. The reliability of coding schemes was confirmed by checking of case summaries by the participants. Results: Novice and expert physical therapists were influenced by two themes, internalized theme and external forces or information. Novice clinicians depended more on external forces or information. Although clinicians should care patients under the FFS and physician's prescription, expert clinicians were more likely to rely on internalized knowledge. Conclusion: The findings of the present study may be used by educators or association officials enhance CDM abilities and knowledge pools of student or novices as well as develop a guide to suitable novices or students under the specific context limiting the development of their CDM.
