시멘트계 재료의 기체 투기계수 해석 및 투수계수와의 상관성 연구 (Modeling of Gas Permeability Coefficient for Cementitious Materials with Relation to Water Permeability Coefficient)

  • 투기계수는 콘크리트의 공극뿐만 아니라 공극크기, 공극분포, 공극간의 굴곡특성에 의해서도 영향을 받는다. 투기계수는 시멘트 페이스트의 미세구조에 의해 지배되는데, 시멘트 페이스트 및 골재 각각이 콘크리트의 투기성능에 미치는 영향을 다룬 연구는 드물다. 더우기, 탄산화가 투기계수에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있음에도 불구하고, 탄산화된 콘크리트에 대한 투기계수를 다룬 연구는 더욱 드문 실정이다. 본 연구의 목적은 탄산화 및 비탄산화된 콘크리트의 투기계수를 추정할 수 있는 기초적 접근방법을 개발하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 미세구조 모델 및 시멘트의 경화특성을 기초로 투기계수를 산정할 수 있는 해석적 기법이 제안되었다. 탄산화된 콘크리트에서 감소된 공극량이 계산되었으며 이는 투기계수의 산정에 이용하여 탄산화된 콘크리트의 투기계수를 계산하였다. 높은 물-시멘트비를 갖는 콘크리트는 탄산화로 인하여 투기계수의 감소가 더욱 뚜렷한 것을 확인되었다. 한편, 시멘트 페이스트에서 투기계수와 투수계수는 Klinkenberg 효과에 의한 선형관계가 성립되나, 콘크리트에서는 성립되지 않았다. 해석결과는 YOON's 실험방법을 수행하여 검증하였다.

경북-강원일대 탄산약수의 수질화학과 탄산 및 영족기체 기원 (Hydrochemistry and Origin of Noble Gases and $CO_2$ Gas Within Carbonated Mineral Waters in the Kyeoungbuk-Kangwon Province, Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 경북 봉화지역, 강원도 오대산 및 춘천지역에서 산출되는 8개 탄산약수터에서 11개 탄산약수 시료를 대상으로 수리화학적 특성을 규명하고, 용존무기탄소의 동위원소(${\delta}^{13}C_{DIC}$)분석을 통해 탄산가스의 기원을 해석하며, 영족기체 동위원소($^3He/^4He$, $^{20}Ne/^{22}Ne$)의 동위원소 존재비를 분석하여 탄산가스의 기원과 연계한 영족기체의 기원을 밝히고자 하였다. 연구결과 탄산약수의 수리화학적 특성은 pH 5.59~6.04 범위로 약산성의 특성을 보이고, 전기전도도 값은 $302{\sim}864\;{\mu}S/cm$ 범위를 보인다. 모든 탄산약수의 수리화학적 유형은 Ca-$HCO_3$ 형에 속한다. 특히 Fe, Mn의 함량이 높아 음용수 수질기준치를 초과한다. 연구지역 탄산약수의 ${\delta}^{13}C_{DIC}$ 값은 -2.84~5.3‰ 범위를 보이므로 $CO_2$의 기원은 주로 심부기원이며, 물-암석 반응과정에서 탄산염광물등의 영향을 일부 받은 것으로 해석된다. 탄산약수의 $^3He/^4He$ 동위원소비와 $^4He/^{20}Ne$동위원소비 상관관계에서 탄산약수는 기원상 3개의 군으로 분류된다. 맨틀과 같은 심부기원의 영역, 대기기원에 가까운 영역, 맨틀기원과 대기기원의 혼합영역으로 도시된다. 이는 심부기원의 영족기체가 천부지하수와 지표노출에 의해 대기기원과 혼합된 것으로 해석되며, 맨틀과 같은 심부기원의 헬륨가스의 공급은 지질경계 및 단층과 같은 지질구조와 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 추정된다.

AZO박막을 이용한 Terephthalate가 삽입된 Zn-Al 층상 이중 수산화물의 합성 (Synthesis of Terephthalate Intercalated Zn-Al Layered Double Hydroxides Using AZO Thin Film)

  • In this paper, synthesis of terephthalate intercalated Zn-Al: Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) was studied. We designed freestanding Zn-Al: carbonate LDH nanosheets for a facile exchange technique. The as-prepared Zn-Al carbonate LDHs were converted to terephthalate intercalated Zn-Al:LDHs by ion exchange method. Initially, Al-doped ZnO (AZO) thin films were deposited on p-Si (001) by facing target sputtering. For synthesis of free standing carbonate Zn-Al:LDH, we dipped the AZO thin film in naturally carbonated water for 3 hours. Further, Zn-Al: carbonate LDH nanosheets were immersed in terepthalic acid (TA) solution. The ion exchange phenomena in the terephthalate assisted Zn-Al:LDH were confirmed using FT-IR analysis. The crystal structure of terephthalate intercalated Zn-Al:LDH was investigated by XRD pattern analysis with different mole concentrations of TA solution and reaction times. The optimal conditions for intercalation of terephthalate from carbonated Zn-Al LDH were established using 0.3 M aqueous solution of TA for 24 hours.

  • In this study, accelerated corrosion tests were conducted on concrete specimens with and without accelerated carbonation beforehand for the purpose of elucidating the effects of carbonation, cover depth, and water-cement ratio (W/C) on the reinforcement corrosion. During testing, the corrosion current between the anode steel and cathode stainless steel was measured to continuously monitor the progress of corrosion throughout the test period, thereby investigating the mechanism of reinforcement corrosion and the relationship between corrosion and crack width, as well as other parameters.

Optimization of Carbonated Cellulose Fiber-Cement Composites

  • This research developed an accelerated curing processe for cellulose fiber reinforced cement composites using vigorous reaction between carbon dioxide and cement paste. A wet-processed cellulose fiber reinforced cement system was considered. Carbonation curing was used to complement conventional accelerated curing. The parametric study followed by optimization investigation indicated that the carbonation curing can enhance the productivity and energy efficiency of manufacturing cellulose fiber reinforced cement composites. This also adds environmental benefits to the technical and economical advantages of the technology.

鑛泉水 理化學的 水質評價 技法 에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Classification Technique of Natural Mineral Waters by Its Constitution and Physico-Chemical Properties)

  • Natural mineral water is generally quite different from ordinary drinking water due to its original nature and various properties. The complexity of natural mineral water requires, therefore, not only to identify its nature and proper characteristics, but also to classify them by a reasonable scientific basis of comparison. The study was concentrated on a possible classification technique to natural mineral waters by their constitutions and physico-ehemical properties. The classification was carried out by the computation of such numerical parameters as ionic equivalent percentage, electrolytic conductance or mobility, ionic molecular weight, molecular concentration, equivalent conductivity and degree of ionization in consideration of the determinative criteria as follows -particular single element or molecule -major components of natural waters as bicarbonate, sulphate, chloride,caloride, calcium, magnesium, and sodium -moleculat concentration related to blood osmotic pressure -water temperature at emergence from spring -contents of free carbon dioxide (CO2) -pH value of water -total dissolved solids or salts (NaCl) The results obtained proved out to be clearly distinguhhable from ordinary drinking water as far as concern natural mineral water as an example on the subject -simple water -bicarbonate-predominating water -cold spring -carbonated-non gaseous water -weak alkaline water -non saline water Putting these various results together, the sample turned out to be a kind of natural mineral water that can be used as a drinking water if microbiologically safe.

Effects of Carbonation on the Microstructure of Cement Materials: Influence of Measuring Methods and of Types of Cement

  • The objective of this work was to examine the influence of carbonation on the microstructure of cement materials. Different materials, which were CEM I mortar and paste, CEM II mortar and paste, were carbonated at $20^{\circ}C$, 65 % relative humidity and 20 % of $CO_2$ concentration. The specific surface area and pore size distribution were determined from two methods: nitrogen adsorption and water adsorption. The results showed that: (1) nitrogen adsorption and water adsorption do not cover the same porous domains and thus, we observed conflicts in the results obtained by these two techniques; (2) the CEM II based materials seemed to be more sensible to a creation of mesoporosity after carbonation than the CEM I based materials. The results of this study also helped to explain why observations in the literature diverge greatly on the influence of carbonation on specific surface area.

  • 본 연구에서는 탄소 포집 물질인 ${\gamma}-C_2S$를 함유하고 있는 Stainless Steel Slag AOD를 포함한 시멘트 페이스트의 역학적 및 미세구조 변화를 연구하였다. ${\gamma}-C_2S$는 비수경성이며 그러므로 물과 반응하지 않는다. 그러나 ${\gamma}-C_2S$는 물에 의한 탄산화 양생조건에서 반응성을 가지고 있다. 그 반응은 페이스트 안의 공극을 치밀하게 형성하기 때문에 STS-A를 사용한 시멘트 페이스트의 공극구조는 탄산화 ($CO_2$ 농도는 약 5%)후에 수은압입시험에 의해 측정될 수 있다. 또한 Fractal 특성은 시멘트 페이스트의 미세구조변화는 탄산화 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 그 결과로부터 STS-A를 포함하는 탄산화 시멘트 페이스트는 강도가 증가하였고 공극구조는 더 치밀해졌다.

Selectivity and structural integrity of a nanofiltration membrane for treatment of liquid waste containing uranium

  • The performance of a nanofiltration membrane for treatment of a low-level radioactive liquid waste was investigated through static and dynamic tests. The liquid waste ("carbonated water") was obtained during conversion of $UF_6$ to $UO_2$. In the static tests membrane samples were immersed in the waste for 24, 48 or 72 h. The transport properties of the samples (hydraulic permeability, permeate flow, selectivity) were evaluated before and after immersion in the waste. In the dynamic tests the waste was permeated in a permeation flow front system under 0.5 MPa, to determine the selectivity of NF membranes to uranium. The surface layer of the membrane was characterized by zeta potential, field emission microscopy, atomic force spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy. The static test showed that the pore size distribution of the selective layer was altered, but the membrane surface charge was not significantly changed. 99% of uranium was rejected after the dynamic tests.

시판되는 각종 음료수내 불소 함량과 소아의 불소섭취에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE FLUORIDE CONTENT OF THE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE BEVERAGES AND THE FLUORIDE INTAKE OF CHILDREN)

  • Along with recent economic prosperity, the consumption of commercially available beverages has increased dramatically. Beverages on the market are replacing tap water and constituting an increasing large proportion of the total daily fluoride intake. If such changes in the source of fluid intake are not taken into consideration, effective fluoride intake would become difficult in the fluoridated area while there would be confusion as to the basis for proper fluoride supplement prescription in the nonfluoridated area. So, dietary consultation is recommended for every pediatric patient. This study was conducted to provide the reference for dietary consultations on the subject of fluoride supplement using 72 beverages on the market. The fluoride content was measured and the fluoride intake from each age groups was calculated using fluoride ion specific electrode and HMDS-microdiffusion technique. 1. The average fluoride concentration of the 72 beverages was $0.23{\pm}0.10ppm$, from 0.0106ppm to 2.2050ppm. 2. Natural fruit juices, diluted fruit juices, carbonated beverages and mixed beverages showed average fluoride concentration of $0.15{\pm}0.66ppm$, $0.09{\pm}0.11ppm$, $0.15{\pm}0.23ppm$, $0.50{\pm}0.66ppm$, respectively. There were significant differrence between diluted friut juice drinks and mixed beverage, and between the carbonated beverages and mixed beverges(p<0.05). 3. Using available data on the daily total consumption of beverages and the relative consumption of beverages on the market according to age, daily fluoride intake for various age groups was calculated. According to the results, 2 to 3 year-old children need 0.13mgF/day, those between 4 and 6 year-old need 0.15mgF/day, and those between 7 and 10 year-old need 0.17mgF/day.
