This paper presents an ASER (Accelerated Soft Error Rate) integral model. The model is based on the facts that the generated EHP/s(electron hole pairs) are diminished after some residual range of the incident alpha particle, where residual range is a function of the incident angle and the capping layer thickness over the semiconductor junction. The ASER is influenced by the flux of the alpha particles, the junction area ratio, the alpha particle incident angle when the critical charge is same as the collected charge, and the sizes of the alpha source and the chip. The model was examined with 8M static RAM samples. The measured ASER data showed good agreement with the calculated values using the model. The ASER decreased exponentially with respect to the operational voltage. As the capping layer thickness increases up to $16{\mu}m$, the ASER increases, and after that thickness, the ASER decreases. The ASER increased as the depth of BNW increased from $0{\mu}m\;to\;4{\mu}m$. and then saturated. The ASER decreased as the node capacitance increased from 2fF to 5fF.
The $(Sr_{1-x}Ca_x)TiO_3$(SCT) thin films are deposited on Pt-coated electrode (Pt/TiN/$SiO_2$/Si) using RF sputtering method with substitutional contents of Ca. The optimum conditions of RF power and Ar/$O_2$ ratio were 140[W] and 80/20, respectively. Deposition rate of SCT thin film was about 18.75[$\AA$/min]. The dielectric constant was increased with increasing the substitutional contents of Ca, while it was decreased if the substitutional contents of Ca exceeded over 15[mol%]. The capacitance characteristics had a stable value within ${\pm}4$[%] in temperature ranges of -80~+90[$^{\circ}C$].
The resolution of the accelerometer, fabricated with MEMS technology is mainly affected by mechanical and electrical noise. To reduce mechanical noise, we have to increase mass of the structure part and quality factor related with the degree of vacuum packaging. On the other hand, to increase mass of the structure part, the thickness of the structure must be increased and ICP-RIE is used to fabricate the high aspect ratio structure. At this time, footing effect make the sensitivity of the accelerometer decreasing. This paper presents a hybrid SOG(Silicon On Glass) Process to fabricate a lateral silicon accelerometer with differential capacitance sensing scheme which has been designed and simulated. Using hybrid SOG Process, we could make it a real to increase the structural thickness and to prevent the footing effect by deposition of metal layer at the bottom of the structure. Moreover, we bonded glass wafer to structure wafer anodically, so we could realize the vacuum packaging at wafer level. Through this way, we could have an idea of controlling of quality factor.
Single phases of multi-component oxides films, ZrTiO4 and Ta2Zr6O17, could be synthesized by using the combinatorial approach through surface sol-gel route, coating the appropriate mole ratio of 100 mM zirconium butoxide, tantalum butoxide and titanium butoxide precursors on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si (100) substrate, following pyrolysis at 450 oC, and annealing them at 770 oC. Both the films and bulks of ZrTiO4 and Ta2Zr6O17 showed very stable dielectric properties in temperature range, ?140 to 60 oC, and frequency range, 100 Hz to 1 MHz, promising their applications in wide range of temperatures and frequencies. The dielectric constants of the films were lower and a little more dependent on frequency than those of the bulks. The reduction of dielectric property in the film was mainly due to the interfacial effects that worked as series and parallel-connected capacitances toward the substantial film capacitance.
In photovoltaic system, the specifications of solar array is changed as open circuit voltage and short circuit current because of cell temperature and solar radiation. A boost converter of this system connects between output of photovoltaic system and DC link capacitor of grid connected inverter as controlling duty ratio. Therefore to supply stable voltage to the grid, a boost converter is need to keep certain voltage output. Considering the capacitance and the resistance of boost converter, this paper designed proper digital controller.

We demonstrate that vertically aligned carbon nanotubes can be synthesized directly on tantalum substrate via water-assisted chemical vapor deposition and evaluate their properties as electrochemical capacitors. The mean diameter of the carbon nanotubes was $7.1{\pm}1.5\;nm$, and 70% of them had double walls. The intensity ratio of G-band to D-band in Raman spectra was as high as 5, indicating good quality of the carbon nanotubes. Owing to the alignment and low equivalent series resistance, the carbon nanotube based supercapacitors showed good rate performance. Rectangular shape of cyclic voltammogram was maintained even at the scan rate of > 1 V/s in 1 M sulfuric acid aqueous solution. Specific capacitance was well-retained (~94%) even when the discharging current density dramatically increased up to 145 A/g. Consequently, specific power as high as 60 kW/kg was obtained from as-grown carbon nanotubes in aqueous solution. Maximum specific energy of ~20 Wh/kg was obtained when carbon nanotubes were electrochemically oxidized and operated in organic solution. Demonstration of direct synthesis of carbon nanotubes on tantalum current collectors and their applications as supercapacitors could be an invaluable basis for fabrication of high performance carbon nanotube supercapacitors.
We give pressure stimulation into long chain fatty acid of LB thin films then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is 20[mN/m]. In processing of a device manufacture, we can see the process is good from the change of a surface pressure for organic thin films and transfer ratio of area per molecule. The structure of manufactured device is Au/Arachidic acid/Al, the number of accumulated layers are 13, 17 and 19. The I-V characteristic of the device is measured from 0[V] to +1.5[V]. We have investigated the capacitance because this fatty acid system have a accumulated layers. The maximum value of measured current is increased as the number of accumulated layers are decreased. The capacitor properties of a thin film is better as the distance between electrodes is smaller. The results have shown the insulating materials and could control the conductivity by accumulated layers.
The $(Sr_{0.85}Ca_{0.15})TiO_3$(SCT) thin films were deposited on Pt-coated electrode (Pt/TiN/$SiO_2$/Si) using RF sputtering method according to the deposition condition. The optimum conditions of RF power and Ar/$O_2$ ratio were 140[W] and 80/20, respectively. Deposition rate of SCT thin films was about 18.75[${\AA}/min$] at the optimum condition. The capacitance characteristics had a stable value within ${\pm}4[%]$. The drastic decrease of dielectric constant and increase of dielectric loss in SCT thin films were observed above 200[kHz].
We demonstrated memory thin-film transistors (MTFTs) with organic ferroelectric polymer poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-trifluoroethylene) and an amorphous oxide semiconducting indium gallium zinc oxide channel on the elastomeric substrate. The dielectric constant for the P(VDF-TrFE) thin film prepared on the elastomeric substrate was calculated to be 10 at a high frequency of 1 MHz. The voltage-dependent capacitance variations showed typical butterfly-shaped hysteresis behaviors owing to the polarization reversal in the film. The carrier mobility and memory on/off ratio of the MTFTs showed $15cm^2V^{-1}s^{-1}$ and $10^6$, respectively. This result indicates that the P(VDF-TrFE) film prepared on the elastomeric substrate exhibits ferroelectric natures. The fabricated MTFTs exhibited sufficiently encouraging device characteristics even on the elastomeric substrate to realize mechanically stretchable nonvolatile memory devices.
An experimental device was developed for analysis of hydraulic oil characteristics with dielectric constant sensors. Online analysis is the most effective method of the three methods used for analyzing lubricant oils. This is because it can monitor the machine condition effectively using oil sensors in real time without requiring excellent analysis skill and eliminates human errors. Determining the oil quality usually requires complex laboratory equipment for measuring factors such as density, viscosity, base number, acid number, water content, additive, and wear debris. However, the electric constant is another indicator of oil quality that can be measured on-site. The electric constant is the ratio of the capacitance of a capacitor using that material as a dielectric, compared with a similar capacitor that has a vacuum as its dielectric. The electric constant affects the factors such as the base oil, additive, temperature, electric field frequency, water content, and contaminants. In this study, the tendency of the electric constant is investigated with a variation of temperature, water content, and dust weight. The experimental device can control working temperature and mix the contaminants with oil. A machine condition monitoring program developed to analyze hydraulic oil is described. This program provides graph and digital values with variation of time. Moreover, it includes an alarm system for when the oil condition is bad.
