Among the technologies for implementing autonomous vehicles, advanced driver assistance system is a key technology to support driver's safe driving. In the technology using the vision sensor having a high utility, various preprocessing methods are used prior to feature extraction for lane detection. However, in the existing methods, the unnecessary lane candidates such as cars, lawns, and road separator in the road area are false positive. In addition, there are cases where the lane candidate itself can not be extracted in the area under the overpass, the lane within the dark shadow, the center lane of yellow, and weak lane. In this paper, we propose an efficient preprocessing method using k-means clustering for image division and the HSV color model. When the proposed preprocessing method is applied, the true positive region is maximally maintained during the lane detection and many false positive regions are removed.

In this paper, we proposes the steps adopted to construct the neural network model for GMAW welds. Conventional, automated process generally involves sophisticated sensing and control techniques applied to various processing parameters. Welding parameters are influenced by numerous factors, such as welding current, arc voltage, torch travel speed, electrode condition and shielding gas type and flow rate etc. In traditional work, the structural mathematical models have been used to represent this relationship. Contrary to the traditional model method, neural network models are based on non-parametric modeling techniques. For the welding process modeling, the non-linearity at well as the coupled input characteristics makes it apparent that the neural network is probably the most suitable candidate for this task. Finally, a suitable proposal to improve the construction of the model has also been presented in the paper.

According to the increasing power demands for the power transmission of major cities, HTS power cables which have large current capacity and low power loss will be needed. In this paper we have studied breakdown voltage properties of paper/liquid composite insulating system for HTS cable insulation. And we measured the dielectric loss(tan$\delta$) of mini-model cable. From results, the insulation paper-ice composite insulation system is thought to be one of good candidate for the electrical insulating system at cryogenic temperature.

The corrugated panels are the prime candidate structure for the floor, roof and wall of Korean high speed train. The equivalent continuum modeling approach panels can be used for the efficient design and evaluation of their structural characteristics. The equivalent continuum models, derived from the true complex corrugated panels, should have the same structural behavior as the original structures have. This paper briefly reviews three representative continuum modeling methods: the static analysis method and two plate-models based on modal analysis methods (MAM). These methods are evaluated through some numerical examples by comparing the natural frequencies and static deflections. It is observed that the plate-model based on Rayleigh-Ritz method seems to provide the best results when used in conjunction with the cantilever-type boundary conditions. The equivalent elastic constants of various corrugated panels, depending on the changes in their configurations, are tabulated for efficient use in structural design.

단일 트래픽 클래스에 대해서 ATM DCS로만 구성되는 초기의 가상경로 설계 연구에서 복수의 트래픽 클래스를 갖으며 각 트래픽 클래스에 대해서는 가상경로 집합이나 양종단이 주어지지 않은 일반 망구조 상황에서의 가상경로망 설계 연구가 요구된다. 본 논문은 복수 트래픽 클래스와 일반 망구조 상황에서의 가상경로망 설계를 위한 모형을 제시한다. 설계 모형은 특별한 형태의 최적화 문제로 표현되는 데 이를 효과적으로 해결하기 위해 최근에 개발된 SQA법[3, 4]을 적용하여 최적 가상경로를 설계한다. 실제 수치예에 대해서 제시한 가상경로망 설계 모형과 해법을 적용하며 그 결과를 소개한다.

In this study, we suggest an objective standard in selection of candidate horse mates. Korea Racing Authority provided racing records and pedigree information of 44 sires and 954 dams. The datasets were used to predict Racing Indices represented by the averages of earnings earned by offspring for each dam and sire that indicate the racing performance of its domestic progeny. Proportion of wins and second places to the number of taken races and the mean of distances for the won races of a sire were significant factors in linear model with minimum prediction errors. For dam, those factors were the average of earned money per race, number of outstanding broodmares in pedigree, and the comparable index which indicates the relative affinity with its mate. We can use the resultant model for a horse mate by choosing one of the candidates with the largest predicted value for hypothetical offspring.

An extensive literature review has been made in this paper to build the evaluation hierarchy structure for the certification of electronic commerce services. In building the evaluation hierarchy structure, major candidate evaluation factors are selected by bench marking the various certification practices, including the Malcolm Baldrige award, ISO9000, and BSC(balanced scorecard) techniques. This paper deployed principal component analysis and factor analysis techniques to develop a statistically solid and systematic evaluation model. The final evaluation model, as presented in this paper as a model for the certification of electronic commerce services, produces a numeric score on the 100% scale, which can be served as a metric for the certification decision. The AHP technique was used in converting the various qualitative and quantitative evaluation values into a single measure for the certification decision.

Time-delay control with internal model (TDCIM) is the controller for robot manipulators that applies the time-delay estimation and the concept of internal model control (IMC). TDCIM is robust against unknown dynamics and non-linear friction like coulomb friction and static friction. It is simple and computationally efficient. This study presents the relationship between the discrete TDCIM and the discrete PID controller. The PID controller is the most popular control law in the real application. But often the PID controller can be difficult to achieve the desired level of control performance. The result in this study provides a good candidate solution to these situations.

Supplier evaluation is of great significance in green supply chain management. Influenced by factors such as economic globalization, sustainable development, a holistic index framework is difficult to establish in green supply chain. Furthermore, the initial index values of candidate suppliers are often characterized by uncertainty and incompleteness and the index weight is variable. To solve these problems, an index framework is established after comprehensive consideration of the major factors. Then an adaptive weight D-S theory model is put forward, and a fuzzy-rough-sets-AHP method is proposed to solve the adaptive weight in the index framework. The case study and the comparison with TOPSIS show that the adaptive weight D-S theory model in this paper is feasible and effective.

Multi-protocol Label Switching is a comparatively new technology based on the association of labels with routes and the use of labels to forward packets. MPLS can be used for transport of any level 3 protocol over any level 2 technology. Differentiated Services define a model for implementing scalable differentiation of QoS in the Internet. The inherent characteristics of MPLS make it a very good candidate for providing Differentiated Services. In this paper we describe various approaches which can be used to support differentiated services in MPLS environments.
