Optimal Cam profile for Elevator Door opening mechanism (엘리베이터 문짝의 최적 운동 곡선)

  • In this paper, contact between the coupler-roller and guide in elevator door mechanism is modeled and analyzed with DADS 3D program. The contact force of coupler-roller is an important factor for impact and noise reduction when doors of elevator are opened or closed. To minimize the maximum contact force, an optimal cam profile for the door guide is suggested. To find an optimal shape of the guide, several types of motion curve are tested with DADS contact module.

  • Recently, manufacturing industries, specially connected with car are doing their best to increase productivity and to reduce production time. This paper deals with the machining of profile(core/cavity) of mold die using the commercial CAM system. In this study, the effect of machining condition on precision of die profile is investigated by experimental observation and analysis.

  • The purpose of the present paper is to investigate about the machining of profile (core/cavity) of mold die using the commercial CAM system. Recently the requirement of the light weight and high performance of automobiles has Increased. The weight of the automobile is very important in the viewpoint of the fuel and traveling performance. The optimal design technique, material technique, the process design for parts and specially, die machining technique need to be developed for increasing productivity and reducing production time of the automobile parts. In this study, the effect of machining condition on precision of die profile is investigated by experimental observation and analysis. The results will be reflected for development of the precision die of the automobile.

  • In this study, a numerical procedure to analyze 3-dimensional unsteady elastohydrodynamic lubrication was developed. The procedure was applied to the actual cam and roller follower of the valve mechanism for a marine diesel engine. The pressure distribution between the cam and roller follower was calculated for the several cam rotating angles. The pressure spike is shown near the roller edge and it is getting higher as the external load is increased. The roller profile for reducing the pressure spike was suggested by the Hertzian contact analysis.

  • A roller gear cam mechanism is presented. It consists of two or more plate cams with particular teeth, called Conjugate Cam Tooth (CCT) and a turret with axially located rollers. A practical and available configuration has been found out by synthesizing its parameters. The profile equations of the conjugate cam are derived by using a relative velocity method. A program fur the design automation of shape of the conjugate cam and the motion simulation of this kind of mechanism has been deve1oped using the derived formulae with C++ language. Finally, an example is given.

  • In this work, a numerical and experimental study was done to get an optimum cam profile considering dynamic characteristics of a cam-valve system. First of all, a four degree of freedom dynamic model was set up for an OHV type cam-valve acceleration while not modifying original cam shape greatly. Also another optimization which aims to enlarge the valve displacement area while reducing the peak valve acceleration, was tried. The optimized cam profile was tested experimentally and found that the measured valve displacement and pushrod force show only very small error from the analytically predicted model simulation results.

  • To overcome the large ring gear manufacturing problems seen in slewing bearings and girth gears, pin gear drive units have been developed. Among them, a novel slewing bearing with an internal pinwheel gear set (i-PGS) is introduced in this paper. First, we consider the exact cam pinion profile of i-PGS with the introduction of a profile shift coefficient. Furthermore, a new root relief profile modification for the i-PGS cam pinion is presented. Then, the contact stresses are investigated to determine the characteristics of the surface fatigue by varying the shape design parameters. The results show that the contact stresses of i-PGS can be reduced significantly by increasing the profile shift coefficient. In addition, the contact ratio, a measure of teeth overlapping action, decreases with the decrease of the allowable pressure angle.

  • The drum cam with rotational follower is used to apply the ATC and index table of machine tools and it has the merit of minimizing the backlash. In general, to machine the drum cam with rotational follower, 5-axis CNC machine must be used and its kinematic principle must be included in modeling on CAM. So, the commercialized CAM software can't be applied to this machining of drum cam. Though some special software for machining drum cam was developed, it could be applied to special 5-axis CNC machine tools and the finish machining module was not applied. To solve this problem, this study includes the induction of the post processing algorithm for the rough machining of drum cam on several 5-axis CNC machine tools, type AC, AB and Be. The finish machining software will be treated in next study. A sample drum cam was machined on 5-axis CNC machine tool of AC type. The designed geometric profile of drum cam consist to the measured profile after machining well. This post processing algorithm for rough machining of the drum cam was clearly verified.
