Recently, dynamic proxy caching has been proposed on the distributed environment so that media objects by user's requests can be served directly from the proxy without contacting the server. However, it makes caching challenging due to multimedia large sizes, low latency and continuous streaming demands of media objects. To solve the problems caused by streaming demands of media objects, this paper has been proposed the grouping scheme with fuzzy filtering based on partition and mapping. For partition and mapping, this paper divides media block segments into fixed partition reference block(R$_f$P) and variable partition reference block(R$_v$P). For semantic relationship, it makes fuzzy relationship to performs according to the fixed partition temporal synchronization(T$_f$) and variable partition temporal synchronization(T$_v$). Simulation results show that the proposed scheme makes streaming service efficiently with a high average request response time rate and cache hit rate and with a low delayed startup ratio compared with other schemes.
There is a growing requirement for big data processing which extracts valuable information from a large amount of data. The Hadoop system employs the MapReduce framework to process big data. However, MapReduce has limitations such as inflexible and slow data processing. To overcome these drawbacks, SQL query processing techniques known as SQL-on-Hadoop were developed. Apache Tajo, one of the SQL-on-Hadoop techniques, was developed by a Korean development group. External merge sort is one of the heavily used algorithms in Tajo for query processing. The performance of external merge sort in Tajo is influenced by two parameters, sort buffer size and fanout. In this paper, we analyzed the performance of external merge sort in Tajo with various sort buffer sizes and fanouts. In addition, we figured out that there are two major causes of differences in the performance of external merge sort: CPU cache misses which increase as the sort buffer size grows; and the number of merge passes determined by fanout.

Mobile data caching is usually used as an effective way to improve the speed of local transaction processing and reduce server load. In mobile database environment, due to its characters - low bandwidth, excessive latency and intermittent network, caching is especially crucial. A lot of mobile data caching strategies have been proposed to handle these problems over the last few years. However, with smart phone widely application these approaches cannot support vast data requirements efficiently. In this paper, to make full use of cache data, lower wireless transmission quantity and raise transaction success rate, we design a new mobile data caching synchronization strategy based on in-demand and replacement priority. We experimentally verify that our techniques significantly reduce quantity of wireless transmission and improve transaction success rate, especially when mobile client request a large amount of data.

Multi-cloud rendering has been attracting attention recently as the computational load of rendering fluctuates over time and each rendering process can be performed independently. However, it is challenging in multi-cloud rendering to deliver large amounts of input data instantly with consistency constraints. In this paper, we develop a new distributed file system for multi-cloud rendering. In our file system, a local machine maintains a file server that manages versions of rendering input files, and each cloud node maintains a rendering cache manager, which performs distributed cooperative caching by considering file versions. Measurement studies with rendering workloads show that the proposed file system performs better than NFS and the uploading schemes by 745% and 56%, respectively, in terms of I/O throughput and execution time.

In this paper, we propose an efficient service discovery scheme that combines peer-to-peer caching advertisement and node ID-based selective forwarding service requests. P2P caching advertisement quickly spreads available service information and reduces average response hop count since service information store in neighbor node cache. In addition, node ID-based service requests can minimize network transmission delay and can reduce network load since do not broadcast to all neighbor node. Proposed scheme does not require a central lookup server or registry and not rely on flooding that create a number of transmission messages. Simulation results show that proposed scheme improved network loads and response times since reduce a lot of messages and reduce average response hop counts using adaptive selective nodes among neighbor nodes compared to traditional flooding-based protocol.

The objective of this study is to enhance the model's speed of estimating weather variables (e.g., minimum/maximum temperature, sunshine hour, PRISM (Parameter-elevation Regression on Independent Slopes Model) based precipitation), which are applied to the Agrometeorological Early Warning System (http://www.agmet.kr). The current process of weather estimation is operated on high-performance multi-core CPUs that have 8 physical cores and 16 logical threads. Nonetheless, the server is not even dedicated to the handling of a single county, indicating that very high overhead is involved in calculating the 10 counties of the Seomjin River Basin. In order to reduce such overhead, several cache and parallelization techniques were used to measure the performance and to check the applicability. Results are as follows: (1) for simple calculations such as Growing Degree Days accumulation, the time required for Input and Output (I/O) is significantly greater than that for calculation, suggesting the need of a technique which reduces disk I/O bottlenecks; (2) when there are many I/O, it is advantageous to distribute them on several servers. However, each server must have a cache for input data so that it does not compete for the same resource; and (3) GPU-based parallel processing method is most suitable for models such as PRISM with large computation loads.

The increasing popularity of multimedia streaming services introduces new challenges in content distribution. Especially, it is important to provide the QoS guarantees as they are increasingly expected to support the multimedia applications. The service providers can improve the performance of multimedia streaming by caching the initial segment (prefix) of the popular streams at proxies near the requesting clients. The proxy can initiate transmission to the client while requesting the remainder of the stream from the server. In this paper, in order to apply the prefix caching service based on IETF's RTSP environment to the wireless networks, we propose the effective RTSP handling scheme that can adapt to the radio situation in wireless network and reduce the cutting phenomenon. Also, we propose the traffic based caching algorithm (TSLRU) to improve the performance of caching proxy. TSLRU classifies the traffic into three types, and improve the performance of caching proxy by reflecting the several elements such as traffic types, recency, frequency, object size when performing the replacement decision. In simulation, TSLRU and RTSP handling scheme performs better than the existing schemes in terms of byte hit rate, hit rate, startup latency, and throughput.

Recently, due to the standard of a new browser developed by the Google and Mozilla "Service Worker", future users is expected to be able to make use of favorite Web sites offline. Google's is, Web sites have developed a standard of a new browser so as to always respond to user requests. Service Worker, websites that provide space capable of offline work to the user's browser to store various document information, to provide the necessary resources. Then, in order to greatly reduce the data exchange operations between the browser and the server, the speed of the Web page increases. Not only cooks as native app that can use the Web application offline, in that us to also further enhance the characteristics of an existing Web application that is running without installing destructive high technology. Service worker specifications, use experience of Web application is very can be improved, is an innovative technology indicates the version of the web evolve as the future of the platform. Service Worker is not included in HTML5 standard final, is currently being continued standardization. Future Service Worker technology I expect what kind of thing unfolds when applied to the Web browser.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is an environment in which various devices provide services to users through communications. Because of the nature of the IoT, data are stored and distributed in heterogeneous information systems. In this situation, IoT end applications should be able to access data without having information on where the data are or what the type of storage is. This mechanism is called Service Discovery (SD). However, some problems arise, since the current SD architectures search for data in physical devices. First, turnaround time increases from searching for services based on physical location. Second, there is a need for a data structure to manage devices and services separately. These increase the administrator's service configuration complexity. As a result, the device-oriented SD structure is not suitable to the IoT. Therefore, we propose an SD structure called Name-based Service-centric Service Discovery (NSSD). NSSD provides name-based centralized SD and uses the IoT edge gateway as a cache server to speed up service discovery. Simulation results show that NSSD provides about twice the improvement in average turnaround time, compared to existing domain name system and distributed hash table SD architectures.

IoT(Internet of Things) is a concept of connected internet pursuing direct access to devices or sensors in fused environment of personal, industrial and public area. In IoT environment, it is possible to access realtime data, and the data format and topology of devices are diverse. Also, there are bidirectional communications between users and devices to control actuators in IoT. In this point, IoT is different from the conventional internet in which data are produced by human desktops and gathered in server systems by way of one-sided simple internet communications. For the cloud or portal service of IoT, there should be a file management framework supporting systematic naming service and unified data access interface encompassing the variety of IoT things. This paper implements a DB-based virtual file system maintaining attributes of IoT things in a UNIX-styled file system view. Users who logged in the virtual shell are able to explore IoT things by navigating the virtual file system, and able to access IoT things directly via UNIX-styled file I O APIs. The implemented virtual file system is lightweight and flexible because it maintains only directory structure and descriptors for the distributed IoT things. The result of a test for the virtual shell primitives such as mkdir() or chdir() shows the smooth functionality of the virtual file system, Also, the exploring performance of the file system is better than that of Window file system in case of adopting a simple directory cache mechanism.
