Increasing attention is being recently devoted to various problems inherent in the topological design of networks systems. The topological structure of these networks can be based on service centers, terminals (users), and connection cable. Lately, these network systems are well designed with tiber optic cable, because the requirements from users become increased. But considering the high cost of the fiber optic cable, it is more desirable that the network architecture is composed of a spanning tree. In this paper, we present a GA (Genetic Algorithm) for solving bicriteria network topology design problems of wide-band communication networks connected with fiber optic cable, considering the connection cost, average message delay, and the network reliability We also employ the $Pr\ddot{u}fer$ number (PN) and cluster string in order to represent chromosomes. Finally, we get some experiments in order to certify that the proposed GA is the more effective and efficient method in terms of the computation time as well as the Pareto optimality.

The cable-based retractable membrane roof makes it impossible to maintain its shape and stiffness during driving process, unlike the hard-type retractable roof. Consequently, monitoring using a relatively simple wireless video transmission device is required. However, since video data has a bigger transmission rating than other monitoring data in terms of the structure velocity or acceleration, there is a need to develop transmission device that is easy to install and entails low maintenance cost. This paper studies on a real-time video transmission system for monitoring the cable-based retractable membrane roof while driving. A video transfer software, using the mobile network, is designed and the embedded system is constructed. Ultimately, the data transmission server is tested. Connecting a trolley to the system allows testing of the validity and efficiency of the developed system through the video data transmitted in the driving process. Result of the test shows that the developed system enables multi-device data transfer with monitoring via the mobile network.

In this research, Forced Vibration Test(FVT) on a cable stayed bridge was conducted to examine the validity of the frequency domain pattern recognition method using signal anomaly index and artificial neural network. The considering structure, Samchunpo Bridge, located in Sachun-Shi, Kyungsangnam-Do, is a cable stayed bridge with the 436 meter span. The excitation force was induced by a sudden braking of a fully loaded truck, and vertical acceleration signals were acquired at 14 points. The initial 2-dimensional FE-model was developed from the design documents to prepare the training sets for the artificial neural network, and then the model calibration was performed with the field test data. As a result of the model calibration, we obtained the FFT spectrums from the model simulation, which was similar to those from the vibration test. These tests and the simulation data will be used fur the structural identification using arbitrarily added masses to the bridge.
This paper presents an efficient algorithm for the estimation of damage location and severity in bridge structures using Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN). Generally, the Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN)-based damage detection methods need a lot of training patterns for neural network learning process and the optimum architecture of a BPNN is selected by trial and error. In this paper, the PNN instead of the conventional BPNN is used as a pattern classifier. The modal properties of damaged structure are somewhat different from those of undamaged one. The basic idea of proposed algorithm is that the PNN classifies a test pattern which consists of the modal characteristics from damaged structure, how close it is to each training pattern which is composed of the modal characteristics from various structural damage cases. In this algorithm, two PNNs are sequentially used. The first PNN estimates the damage location using mode shape and the results of the first PNN are put into the second PNN for the damage severity estimation using natural frequency. The proposed damage assessment algorithm using the PNN is applied to a cable-stayed bridge to verify its applicability.
Using cross-ties to connect cables together when forming a cable network is regarded as an efficient method of mitigating cable vibrations. Cross-ties have been extended and fixed on bridge decks or towers in some engineering applications. However, the dynamics of this kind of system need to be further studied, and the effects of extending cross-links to bridge decks/towers on the modal response of the system should be assessed in detail. In this paper, a system of two cables connected by an inter-supported cross-link with another lower cross-link extended to the ground is proposed and analyzed. The characteristic equation of the system is derived, and some limiting solutions in closed form of the system are derived. Roots of cable system with special configurations are also discussed, attention being given to the case when the two cables are identical. A predictable mode behavior was found when the stiffness of inter-connection cross-link and the cross-link extended to the ground were the same. The vector of mode energy distribution and the degree of mode localization index are proposed so as to distinguish global and local modes. The change of mode behaviors is further discussed in the case when the two cables are not identical. Effects of cross-link stiffness, cross-link location, mass-tension ratio, cable length ratio and frequency ratio on $1^{st}$ mode frequency and mode shape are addressed.

Internet Service Subscribers Network has a new role of providing various multimedia services to the home. However, there exist several types of distributed subscriber networks using Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), Very high-bit rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL), and Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications (DOCSIS). The efficient and concentrated network management of those several distributed subscribers networks with resources requires the general network information model, which has and conceptional managed objects independent of type of network and its equipment to manage the integrated subscriber network. This paper presents the general Internet subscribers network model of the managed object to manage that network in the form of integrated hierarchy. This paper adopts the object-oriented development methodology with UML and designs and implements the integrated subscribers NMS of cable data network and VDSL network as examples of the subscriber networks.

In this paper, we propose a method for constructing terrestrial/cable PSIP converting system, so-called a PSIP converter, which is converting terrestrial PSIP into cable PSIP for a data broadcasting service in the interoperable network of terrestrial and cable, and define an interface between the PSIP converter and the OOB SI generator by using PMCP messages compliant to ATSC T3/S1. The exiting PSIP converter just converts terrestrial PSIP into cable PSIP compliant to ATSC and OCAP standard and transmits by a MPEG-2 TS format. That is to say, it is not for the digital data broadcasting but for the digital broadcasting. Say in other word, the proposed PSIP converter is designed to convert and transmit PSIP including DET information which is necessary data event information for data broadcasting service. In addition, the PSIP converter can support various types of PSIP information to the OOB SI generator by using PMCP messages defined by a hierarchical structure as per each channel, audio/video event, data event and so on.
Cable supported structures have been widely used in civil engineering. Cable tension estimation has great importance in cable supported structures' analysis, ranging from design to construction and from inspection to maintenance. Even though the Bernoulli-Euler beam element is commonly used in the traditional finite element method for calculation of frequency and cable tension estimation, many elements must be meshed to achieve accurate results, leading to expensive computation. To improve the accuracy and efficiency, a dynamic finite element method for estimation of cable tension is proposed. In this method, following the dynamic stiffness matrix method, frequency-dependent shape functions are adopted to derive the stiffness and mass matrices of an exact beam element that can be used for natural frequency calculation and cable tension estimation. An iterative algorithm is used for the exact beam element to determine both the exact natural frequencies and the cable tension. Illustrative examples show that, compared with the cable tension estimation method using the conventional beam element, the proposed method has a distinct advantage regarding the accuracy and the computational time.
A geometrically nonlinear finite element formulation of spatial cable networks is presented using two cable elements. Firstly, derivation procedures of tangent stiffness and mass matrices for the space truss element and the elastic catenary cable element are summarized. The load incremental method based on Newton-Raphson iteration method and the dynamic relaxation method are presented in order to determine the initial static state of cable nets subjected to self-weights and support motions. Furthermore, static non-linear analysis of cable structures under additional live loads are performed based on the initial configuration. Challenging example problems are presented and discussed in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the present finite element method and investigate static nonlinear behaviors of cable nets.
CCTV network has been implemented to transmit the image information of platform, ticket gate and transfer section to local headquarters in the KNR(Korean National Railroad). But, communication system for transferring image information around accident field or wayside has not been established ret. thus, at Present implementation of communication equipment is necessary for dynamic image of unspecified accident to be transmitted to headquarters. Copper cable communication network is run by KNR, but it is processing installation of optical cable in connection with the implemental plan for high-speed network from now on. And, the capacity of communication channel will be guaranteed much more than now between station and station. station and central headquarters when optical cable is completed. This study analyzes the image equipment of field for transmission and estimated matters to transmit image information of accident field to headquarters with using communication infrastructure. And, the study considers implemental method of communication network for long-distance image transmission from dozens to hundreds kilometers.
