This paper proposes a metrics for example matching under the example-based machine translation for English-Korean machine translation. Our metrics served as similarity measure is based on edit-distance algorithm, and it is employed to retrieve the most similar example sentences to a given query. Basically it makes use of simple information such as lemma and part-of-speech information of typographically mismatched words. Edit-distance algorithm cannot fully reflect the context of matched word units. In other words, only if matched word units are ordered, it is considered that the contribution of full matching context to similarity is identical to that of partial matching context for the sequence of words in which mismatching word units are intervened. To overcome this drawback, we propose the context-weighting scheme that uses the contiguity information of matched word units to catch the full context. To change the edit-distance metrics representing dissimilarity to similarity metrics, to apply this context-weighted metrics to the example matching problem and also to rank by similarity, we normalize it. In addition, we generalize previous methods using some linguistic information to one representative system. In order to verify the correctness of the proposed context-weighted metrics, we carry out the experiment to compare it with generalized previous methods.

In order to analyze the formation mechanism for the fishing ground of the Gang-dal-i, the relationship between the fish grounds of the Gang-dal-i and the oceanographic structure of the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea is investigated by using the data of the catches of stow net fishery (Fisheries Research and Development Agency, 1970-1979) and the oceanographic observation data (Japan Meteorological Agency). The main fishing grounds of the Gang-dal-i concentrated in the adjacent seas of Daeheugsan island and Sokotra Rock. In these areas, the fishing conditions are generally stable, because about 70% of the total catch of the Gang-dal-i for the ten years is occupied, CPUE also is relatively great, and the coefficients of variation of the catches are relatively small as 0.9 to 1.4. The main fishing periods are roughly from February to March and June to July, and the years of good catches are from 1974 to 1976. In general, the main fishing grounds are formed in the marginal areas of the Yellow Sea Bottom Cold Water. They are the frontal areas in which the Yellow Sea Bottom Cold Water is intermixed with the Yellow Sea Warm Current. The range of the temperature and the salinity in these regions are from 10 to 13$^{\circ}C$ and 32.5 to 34.4$\textperthousand$, respectively.
An experimental study is performed in order to catch the characteristics of the flow field at arrested salt wedge, using a rectangular open channel. Arrested salt wedge is generally so stable that the observations are easy, but velocities and interfacial waves are measured with the aid of visualization method, by injection of fluorescent dyes. The density interface, which is defined as the zone of maximum density variation with depth, exists in about 0.5 cm below the visual interface, and vertical density profile is quite well satisfied with Homeborn model. Interfacial layer has high turbulent intensity and its thickness decreases as the overall Richardson number increases and has magnitude of roughly 17% of upper layer. Cross-sectional velocity distribution just shows the influence of a side-wall friction and in the upper layer vertical velocity profile also becomes uniformly as Reynolds number increases, but in the lower layer it shows nearly parabolic type. Supposes that we divide salt wedge into three domains, that is, river mouth, intermediate and tip zone, entertainment coefficient is small at the intermediate zone and large at the river mouth and the tip zone. River mouth or intermediate zone has comparatively stable interface and capillary wave therefore s produced and propagated downstream. On the other hand, tip zone is very unstable, cusping ripple or bursting ripple is then produced incessantly. Arrested salt wedge form is nearly linear and has no relation to densimetric Froude number and Reynolds number.
Annual biomasses of small yellow croaker, Pseudosciaena polyactis, were estimated by biomass-based cohort analysis (Zhang, 1987) , using data on annual catch in weight at age for 1970-88 in Korean waters. Annual biomass of croaker was highest in 1974 with about 100,000 mt, declining to a level of 20,000-30,000 mt after 1981. Adult biomass also showed a peak in 1974 with about 50,000 mt. Afterwards, however, it continuously dropped. According to the estimates of biomass at age obtained from this analysis, the age composition of small yellow croaker in the 1980's differed greatly from that in the 1970's. The proportions of older croakers (>5 years) were very low in the 1980's and even the biomasses of young croakers (1-4 years) were at a very low level in the 1980's. Year classes of 1968, 1972 and 1978 appeared to be relatively dominant. The mean value of instantaneous fishing mortality (F) in the 1980's was twice that of the 1970's. Recruitment of croaker exhibited an unusally linear relationship with adult stock biomass.
Purpose : Bartter syndrome is a renal tubular defect in electrolyte transport characterized by hypokalemia, metabolic alkalosis and other clinical signs and symptoms. The aims of this study were to analyze the clinical manifestations and the short- and long-term outcomes of Bartter syndrome. Methods : We retrospectively reviewed clinical history, laboratory finding of blood and urine, renal ultrasonography, and hearing tests of five patients who were diagnosed and managed with Bartter syndrome at Asan Medical Center from April 1992 to May 2007. We also evaluated height and body weight periodically after institution of therapy. Results : All patients had poor oral intake, failure to thrive and polyuria. Three of them had maternal history of polyhydramnios and premature delivery. The mean age at diagnosis was 11.8 months. All children presented with hypokalemia, metabolic alkalosis, hyperreninemia. Their blood pressures were normal. One patient had nephrocalcinosis on renal ultrasonography and all of them had normal result in hearing tests. After treatment with indomethacin or other prostaglandin inhibitors and potassium supplementation, their clinical features improved with catch-up growth and improvement in the development during long-term follow-up. Conclusion : We emphasize that early diagnosis and proper treatment in patient with Bartter syndrome are related to better prognosis.

Purpose: The nasal bone fracture is most common fracture in facial bone injuries. Regardless of the severity or type of fracture, closed reduction has traditionally been the common method of treatment. However, through detailed pre-operative evaluation, we found out that many patients consider rhinoplasty prior to trauma due to aesthetic desire or nasal deformity with or without septal deviation. In treatment of nasal bone fracture, we focused not only on the fracture management but also on the patients' desire prior to trauma, and we made additional operation according to patients' desire with fracture reduction and gained rewarding outcomes. Methods: From March 2005 to June 2007, total 263 patients were treated for nasal bone fracture. Among these patients, 57 patients (21%) had the additional operation with nasal fracture reduction. The additional operations were categorized in three types: augmentation rhinoplasty with tip plasty (40%), septoplasty only (16%), corrective rhinoplasty (44%). The mean follow-up period was 5.6 months and results were evaluated by scoring. Results: Forty four of 57 patients (77%) were highly satisfied regardless of any additional operation kinds. The complications were one septal perforation, two displacement of implant and four remnant nasal deformities. For the septal perforation, no further management was performed because we lost the contact with the patient. Then 4 of the other complicated patients were revised. Conclusion: In general, many physicians tend to consider nasal fracture as a simple trauma. However through the strict history taking, physical examination and professional counseling, we could catch the patient's cosmetic desire and get the eyes on new concept: the nasal fracture is not only a trauma but a cosmetic and functional field. In the treatment of nasal bone fracture, if additional rhinoplasty is performed, patients will be more satisfied and we also can expect higher profits.

A field experiment was carried out to clarify the effect of underwater sound on the luring of fish school. The effects of. the acoustic emission on the luring of fish school were checked actually at a set net fishing site in Namhae using a commercial acoustic equipment, Dairyo-8. An emitting system of sound was designed by the authors, and the ambient noise, the sound pressure level and the reaction of fish school were measured in the set net. 1. The predominent frequency band of ambient noise was 150Hz-400Hz,.and the sound emitted was 400Hz-100Hz. The sound pressure level of ambient noise in set net was higher at the landing part, and lower at the playgrond, the gate of court and "the enterance of inclined "passage. The ambient noise was increased with the time elapse-d at the stage of hauling net, but :it was decreased suddenly at the final stage due probably to the decrease of the swimming speed of the fish school. 2. The results of the observation and the recording paper of echo sounder indicate that the effect of emitting sound in the bag net of set net was remarkable for the luring of fish school in the early stage, but decreased after 30 minutes. The reaction of fish school is more sensitiv2 to the sound pressure level than the time intervals between the emission and the pause. For the purpos~ of practical use, it is nesessary to confirm what kind of sound pressure level is the best for the luring of fish school. 3. In response to the acoustic equipment(Dairyo-8), fish school started to swarm 20 minutes after the sound emission and scattered when the sound paused. As the emitting pattern of the acoustic equiment, the three seconds of emission after one second of pause was more effective than the continuous emission at the set net fishing ground. Catch of the fish(s during th~ sound ernissio:l at the gate of court was three to five times more than that of no emission.

A model experiment using circulation water channel was carried out to investigate the dynamic characteristics of bottom trawl net which can be used in sea mount of North Pacific. Hydrodynamic resistance and shape variation according to the flow velocity and angle of hand rope transformation for net were measured, and experimental value was analyzed as the value of full-scale bottom trawl net. The results summarized are as follows; At the $30^{\circ}$ of angle of hand rope to net, hydrodynamic resistance varied from 0.5kgf to 2.68kgf as the flow velocity increased between 0.31m/s and 0.92m/s, and formula of hydrodynamic resistance for the model net was $F_m=3.04\;{\cdot}\;{\upsilon}^{1.53}$. At the fixed angle of hand rope, Net height was low and Net width was high according to the increase of flow velocity, and in addition, vertical opening was low and Net width was high by the increase of angle of hand rope at the fixed flow velocity. At the $30^{\circ}$ of angle of hand rope to net, net opening area was $0.214m^2$ as flow velocity was 0.61m/s, and formula of net opening area for the model net was $S_m=-0.22{\upsilon}+0.35$. At the $30^{\circ}$ of angle of hand rope to net, catch efficiency seemed to be highest as $0.319m^3/s$ of filtering volume at the 0.76m/s(51kt's) of flow velocity. Shape variation of net showed the gradual laminar transform for the variation of flow velocity but there needed some improvements due to the occurrence of shortening at the ahead of wing net.

The people who lived in Fujian district along the south-eastern coast of China long ago began to construct ships and go fishing. For this reason, they grasped sound navigation skills and gained rich navigation experience. These skills and experience laid basis for the following large-scale overseas trade. In the Tang dynasty, with the development of economy, the people who lived in Fujian district started to leave home town and engage in overseas trade. In the Song dynasty and the Yuan dynasty, with the fast development of overseas communication, more and more Fujian maritime merchants, navigating the Fujian ships which were safe, fast and could arrive at destination on time, engaged in overseas trade. The Fujian ships made it possible for the Fujian maritime merchants to shorten trade time, catch business opportunity, level up the chance of success in trade and make full use of capital. As a result of this, Fujian maritime merchants gained fast development and they reached far areas such as eastern Asia, south-eastern Asia, southern Asia, and eastern Africa. This study deals with the issues such as the reasons for the development of Fujian maritime merchants, the trade engaged in by Fujian maritime merchants, the Fujian ships which played a decisive role in the overseas trade of Fujian maritime merchants.
The shrimp fishery for Penaeus japonicus on the Koje-Do coast commences in May and continues to October. The best catches are made twice a year, namely June and September. Modal carapace length for the female is $51\~55\;mm$ in May, $51\~60\;mm$ in June occupying about 80 percent of the total catch. There is conspicuous mode in July and $46\~50\;mm$ in August. Modal carapace length for the male is $41\~45\;mm$ in May, $46\~50\;mm$ in June, $41\~45\;mm$ in July and August. The stock of p. japonicus can be divided into two groups, namely, spring and fall groups. Among samples of p. japonicus during the period from May through August the sex ratio consisted of about 33 percent females and 67 percent males, showing wide departure from a 1:1 ratio. The relationships between carapace length ($\iota$), body length (L) and body weight (W) are expressed by the following formulae : $$L=2.9418{\iota}+2.0166$$, $$W:1.449{\iota}^{2.2858}$$ (Mayssample) $$L=2.5551{\iota}+4.2986$$, $$W=1.528{\iota}^{2.2595}$$ (June sample) $$L=2.6738{\iota}+3.4037$$, $$W=1.341{\iota}^{2.3598}$$ (July sample) The relatlonship between carapace length ($\iota$) and ovary weight (W) is shown as follows: $W=2.695\times10^{-3}\iota^{4.2973}$ for May, June and July Samples.
