For estimation of chain-matching phenomena between normal paraffin as a solvent and straight-chain fatty acid as an additive, the density measurement of n-dodecane, n-tetradecane and n-hexadecane were carried out at oil temperature 313K and pressure up to 1.3 GPa. Their solidification pressure were easily determined by the appearance of molecular crystal, abrupt volumetric contraction and generation of heat of solidification and showed minima under the matching condition. The bulk modulus K of molecular crystal was evaluated using phase diagram. The bulk modulus showed maxima under the each matching condition. The chain matching effect on the bulk modulus beyond the scope of the interfacial phenomena are confirmed.
The electrical properties such as dielectric constant, dielectric loss factor and AC conductivity of grain were presented to measure the moisture content of grain using RF impedance. At frequency ranging from 1 to 10MHz and room temperature, $20^{\circ}C$, vector network analyzer(HP4195) and coaxial type sample holder were used to analyze the electrical properties of paddy(11∼24%w.b.), brown rice(11∼18%w.b.), barley(11∼21%w.b.) and wheat(11∼23%w.b.) depending on the moisture content, frequency and bulk density. The dielectric constant and AC conductivity of grain samples increased with moisture content and bulk density. The dielectric constants decreased with frequency and could be expressed as function of the moisture density(decimal moisture $content{\times}bulk$ density).

We prepared silver Schottky contacts to O-polar and nonpolar m-plane bulk ZnO wafers. Then, by considering various transport models, we performed a comparative analysis of the current transport properties of Ag/bulk ZnO Schottky diodes, which were measured at 300, 200, and 100 K. The fitting of the forward bias current-voltage (I-V) characteristics revealed that the tunneling current is dominant as the transport component in both the samples. Compared to thermionic emission (TE), a stronger contribution of tunneling current was observed at low temperature. The reverse bias I-V characteristics were well fitted with the thermionic field emission (TFE) in both the samples. The presence of acceptor-like adsorbates, such as O2 and H2O, modulated the surface conductive state of ZnO, thereby affecting the tunneling effect. The degree of activation/passivation of acceptor-like adsorbates might be different in both the samples owing to their different surface morphologies and surface defects (e.g., oxygen vacancies).
Copper-based bulk amorphous alloy composite was synthesized by using the copper-coated $Cu_{54}Ni_{6}Zr_{22}Ti_{18}$ amorphous powder which was obtained by argon gas atomization. The amorphous powder having a super-cooled liquid region of 53 K was coated by crystalline copper by electroless coating. The consolidation was carried out by manufacturing performs and by the subsequent warm extrusion at 743 K. During the compression test at the room temperature, the composite containing a large fraction of crystalline copper displayed a larger plastic strain after yielding. FEM simulation revealed change in fracture modes in the composites depending on the amount of crystalline copper in the composites.
Atmospheric bulk (wet and dry) samples were monthly collected in an urban environment (Daeyeon-dong) of Busan over a year, to assess the deposition flux and seasonality of dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (DLPCBs) using stainless steel pots. Deposition fluxes of DLPCBs in bulk samples were determined using high resolution gas chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry (HRGC/HRMS). Particle deposition fluxes in the urban environment varied from 23 to 98 $mg^2$/year (mean 41 $gm^2$/year). DLPCB deposition fluxes in atmospheric bulk samples ranged from 0.09 to 0.77 ng-$TEQ/m^2$/year (mean 0.35 ng-$TEQ/m^2$/year). Seasonal atmospheric deposition fluxes of DLPCBs were high in winter and low in summer. Atmospheric deposition fluxes of particles and DLPCBs in this study were comparable to or slightly lower values than those of different locations in the world. Monthly DLPCB profiles in deposition bulk samples were similar over a year. Non-ortho PCBs were higher contributions to the total DLPCBs fluxes than mono-ortho PCBs. In particular, PCB 126 had the highest concentrartion (>75%) in all deposition samples, followed by PCB 169 and PCB 156. A highly positive correlation was found among the deposition fluxes of DLPCB species, suggesting the possibility of that the DLPCB contamination originated from one source. The deposition fluxes of DLPCBs were not significantly correlated with temperature and the amount of precipitation even though the summer season with the highest temperature and the largest amount of precipitation showed the lowest DLPCB deposition flux.

Temperature dependence of magnetic moment (m-T) and the magnetization (M-H) at 5 K and 20 K of the in situ processed $MgB_2$ bulk pellets with/without carbon (C) doping were examined. The superconducting critical temperature ($T_c$), the superconducting transition width (${\delta}T$) and the critical current density ($J_c$) were estimated for ten test samples taken from the $MgB_2$ bulk pellets. The reliable m-T characteristics associated with the uniform $MgB_2$ formation were obtained for both $MgB_2$ pellets. The $T_cs$ and ${\delta}Ts$ of all test samples of the undoped $MgB_2$ were the same each other as 37.5 K and 1.5 K, respectively. The $T_cs$ and ${\delta}Ts$ of the C-doped $MgB_2$ were 36.5 K and 2.5 K, respectively. Unlike the m-T characteristics, there existed the difference among the M-H curves of the test samples, which might be caused by the microstructure variation. In spite of the slight $T_c$ decrease, the C doping was effective in enhancing the $J_c$ at 5 K.
Background: Refractory ceramic fibers (RCFs) are a suspected carcinogen but have been widely used as insulations. Depending on the temperature, RCFs can transform into crystalline SiO2, which is a carcinogen that can be present in the air during bulk RCF handling. This study analyzed the physicochemical and morphological characteristics of RCFs at high temperatures and determined the exposure levels during the semiconductor scrubber maintenance. Methods: Sampling was conducted at a company that manufactures semiconductor scrubbers using RCFs as insulation. Bulk RCF samples were collected both before and after exposure to a scrubber temperature of 700℃. Airborne RCFs were collected during scrubber maintenance, and their characteristics were analyzed using microscopes. Results: The components of bulk RCFs were SiO2 and Al2O3, having an amorphous structure. Airborne RCFs were morphologically different from bulk RCFs in size, which could negatively affect maintenance workers' health. 58% of airborne RCFs correspond to the size of thoracic and respirable fibers. RCFs did not crystallize at high temperatures. The exposure caused by airborne RCFs during the scrubber frame assembly and insulation replacement was higher than the occupational exposure limit. Conclusion: Workers conducting insulation replacement are likely exposed to airborne RCFs above safe exposure limits. As RCFs are suspected carcinogens, this exposure should be minimized through prevention and precautionary procedures.
A numerical simulation of the temperature rise for sliding surface in dry contact is based on Jaeger's formula combined with a calculated heat input. A gear tooth temperature analysis was performed. The pressure distribution has the Hertzian pressure distribution on the heat source. The heat partition factor is calculated along line of action. A Temperature distribution of tooth surface is calculated about before and after profile modification. A Temperature of addendum and deddendum in modified gear have reduced.
In this study, we investigated the thermal properties of $Zr_{66.4}Nb_{6.4}Cu_{10.5}Ni_{8.7}Al_{8.0}$ by using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and then analyzed the composition of dendrite phase by using X-ray diffraction (XRD). A series of uniaxial compression tests has been performed under the strain rates between $10^{-5}/s$ and $10^{-2}/s$ at room temperature and near SLR. This BMGC has higher high temperature strength than other Zr-based monolithic BMGs because in-situ formed crystalline phases hinder a feasible viscous flow of amorphous matrix. Warm formability is also estimated by laboratory-scale extrusion test within supercooled liquid region. It was found that BMGC has poor formability compared with nother Zr-based bulk metallic glass composite presumably due to large volume fraction of 'brittle' crystalline phases distributed within amorphous matrix.
The effect of soft nip calendering variables including pressure, temperature, nip residence time and moisture on newsprint properties was investigated. The change of bulk, opacity, smoothness, and gloss were determined. It was found that the influence of calendering pressure and temperature are more significant compare the Influence of sheet moisture content and nip residence time on newsprint properties. Calendering conditions of 16$0^{\circ}C$ of temperature, 78kg$_{f}$/cm of line load and 4ms of nip residence time were considered to be optimum conditions to obtain reasonable gloss and smoothness while minimizing the loss of bulk and opacity for newsprint.
