퍼프슬리브 블라우스의 어깨길이와 퍼프량의 변화에 따른 시각적 이미지 (Visual Images by Variation of the Shoulder Length and Puff Volume of the Puff Sleeve Blouse)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the differences among visual images under variations in shoulder length and puff volume of the puff sleeve blouse. The stimuli are 21 samples: three variations of shoulder length and seven variations of puff volume. The data has been obtained from 40 fashion design majors, where they had been analyzed through frequency, factor analysis, ANOVA, Scheffe's test and MCA method. The results of the study are as the following: As a result, through factor analysis of the visual images according to the variation of shoulder point and puff volume, the following four factors had been identified. Factor 1 is the brightness from evaluation terms such as childish-precocious, cute-mature, bright-genteel, soft-hard, enlarged-reduced, particular-ordinary, interesting- uninteresting, etc. Factor 2 is the attractiveness from evaluation terms such as refine-rustic, stylish-dull, attractive-unattractive, modern-classic, urban-rural, cool-gloomy, spacious-tight. etc. Factor 3 is the comfortness from evaluation terms such as comfort-discomfort, intense-indistinct, etc. Factor 4 is the elegance from evaluation terms such as elegance-shallowness, womanish-manly, etc. These four factors were 66.7% of the total variables. Of the total variables, the first factor had been evaluated as brightness in 26.2%, attractive in 21.0%, comfortness in 11.1%, and elegance in 8.4%. From this study, the more puff volume and shorter shoulder length, the puff volume wrapped the shoulder naturally, thus making the shoulder look narrow, and giving a cute and bright image. However, by having less puff volume and excessively short shoulder length, the puff volume did not naturally wrap the shoulder, which gave an unnatural and unattractive feel.

Visual-MIMO 시스템에서 휘도편차를 이용한 전송 성능 향상 (Transmission Performance Improvement Using Brightness Deviation for Visual-MIMO System)

  • 최근 LED 어레이와 카메라간의 통신에 MIMO의 개념을 적용한 Visual-MIMO 시스템에 대한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이전 연구에서 비트 판정을 위해 참조 LED 어레이 패턴을 사용한 방법을 제안하였으나, 참조 LED 어레이 패턴을 사용할 시에 거리가 변경될 때마다 참조 LED 어레이 패턴을 통해 ISI를 측정해야 하는 단점이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 참조 어레이 패턴을 사용하지 않고 휘도편차를 사용한 비트 판정 및 오류정정 방법을 제안한다. 일차적으로 실험적으로 정해진 임계값에 의해 비트를 판정한다. 그 중 ON-LED로 판정된 LED에 대해서 오류 여부를 검사하고 정정을 시도한다. 정정 방법은 각 LED의 히스토그램의 전체데이터 중 최대빈도수를 기준으로 68.2%($1{\sigma}$)에 해당하는 범위인 휘도편차를 사용하여 판정한다. LED간 ISI 정도 및 거리의 변화에 따라 제안한 방법의 성능을 LED 어레이 패턴을 사용한 경우와 비교 분석하고 실험을 통해 검증한다.

가중된 국부 최적화 방법을 이용한 속도장의 추정 (Velocity Field Estimation using A Weighted Local Optimization)

  • 연속 영상으로부터 속도를 측정하는 많은 방법들은 영상에서 밝기 함수의 시간 경사와 공간 경사사이의 관계를 이용한다. 대부분의 경우에 있어서 이 관계만으로는 관측화소의 속도를 유일하게 결정할 수 없기 때문에 추가적인 제한이 필요하다. Horn과 Schunck는 영상에서 속도장은 smooth하게 변해야 한다는 제한을 제안하였다. 그러나 이 제한을 사용하며 운동 경계 부분에서 속도장이 흐려진다는 단점이 나타난다. 이와 같은 단점을 보완하기 위하여 Nagel은 영상의 밝기 함수가 적게 변하는 방향으로만 속도의 변화를 제한하는 방향성 smoothness 제한을 사용하였다. 한편 Paquin과 Dubois는 다른 형태의 제한, 즉 영상의 작은 영역내에서의 속도는 같다는 제한을 제안하였다. 그러나 이제한 역시 속도장의 큰 변화가 존재하는 운동 경계 부분에서는 적합하지 못하다. 우리는 영상에서 밝기 함수의 불연속에 관한 정보를 이용함으로써 위의 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법을 제안하고, 새로운 방법에 대한 실험 결과를 나타낸다.

  • 현대사회가 발전하여 영상 미디어의 이용이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 영상의 정보를 이용하기 위한 여러 가지 영상처리 기법들이 있으며, 그 중 에지 검출은 영상의 밝기가 급격하게 변화하는 부분을 검출하는 기술이다. 에지 검출을 하기 위한 기존의 방법들은 일정한 상수로 이루어진 마스크를 통하여 에지를 검출하지만, 영상 내의 화소 분포나 위치, 방향 등을 고려하지 않는 기존의 방법들은 에지검출 성능이 다소 미흡하다. 따라서 본 연구는 $3{\times}3$ 마스크 내의 밝기 분포도에 따라 각각 다른 가중치 벡터를 이용한 에지 검출 알고리즘을 제안하였다.

Modified Particle Filtering for Unstable Handheld Camera-Based Object Tracking

  • In this paper, we address the tracking problem caused by camera motion and rolling shutter effects associated with CMOS sensors in consumer handheld cameras, such as mobile cameras, digital cameras, and digital camcorders. A modified particle filtering method is proposed for simultaneously tracking objects and compensating for the effects of camera motion. The proposed method uses an elastic registration algorithm (ER) that considers the global affine motion as well as the brightness and contrast between images, assuming that camera motion results in an affine transform of the image between two successive frames. By assuming that the camera motion is modeled globally by an affine transform, only the global affine model instead of the local model was considered. Only the brightness parameter was used in intensity variation. The contrast parameters used in the original ER algorithm were ignored because the change in illumination is small enough between temporally adjacent frames. The proposed particle filtering consists of the following four steps: (i) prediction step, (ii) compensating prediction state error based on camera motion estimation, (iii) update step and (iv) re-sampling step. A larger number of particles are needed when camera motion generates a prediction state error of an object at the prediction step. The proposed method robustly tracks the object of interest by compensating for the prediction state error using the affine motion model estimated from ER. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional particle filter, and can track moving objects robustly in consumer handheld imaging devices.

  • It is very important for monitoring the interannual variability of sea ice extents in the Okhotsk Sea because the global warming has firstly appeared around the Okhotsk Sea, locating around the southernmost region of sea ice cover in the Northern Hemisphere. In order to develop the sea ice concentration algorithm by microwave sensors onboard satellite, electromagnetic properties of sea ice in the Okhotsk Sea, therefore, were observed by airborne microwave radiometer (AMR), which has the same frequencies as AMSR (Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer), ADEOS-II, launching on November, 2000. On this study, it is discussed how to make the image of AMR-EFOV and the video image with nadir angle under flight at the same time, and superimpose the brightness temperature data by AMR-EFOV on the video mosaiced images. For comparing SPOT image, it is clearly that the variation of brightness temperature is small in 89GHz V-pol without the sea ice types and increase at the lower frequency-band.

  • 영상에서 명암 차이가 큰 두 영역간의 경계를 나타내는 에지는 대상 물체에 대한 다양한 정보를 포함한다. 따라서 영상분할을 비롯한 물체인식 등의 분야에서 이러한 에지정보를 이용하고 있다. 에지는 밝기 변화의 크기와 지속시간 등에 따라 다양한 종류가 있으며, 일반적으로 미분을 통해 검출된다. 최근에는 영상처리와 컴퓨터비전 등의 분야에서, 특정 응용에 적용하기 위한 에지검출 방법들이 제시되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 개선된 에지검출 특성을 위한 웨이브렛 함수를 제안하여, 영상의 라인-에지 성분을 검출하였으며, 시뮬레이션을 통해 그 성능을 확인하였다.

시각을 이용한 이동 로봇의 강건한 경로선 추종 주행 (Vision-Based Mobile Robot Navigation by Robust Path Line Tracking)

  • Line tracking is a well defined method of mobile robot navigation. It is simple in concept, technically easy to implement, and already employed in many industrial sites. Among several different line tracking methods, magnetic sensing is widely used in practice. In comparison, vision-based tracking is less popular due mainly to its sensitivity to surrounding conditions such as brightness and floor characteristics although vision is the most powerful robotic sensing capability. In this paper, a vision-based robust path line detection technique is proposed for the navigation of a mobile robot assuming uncontrollable surrounding conditions. The technique proposed has four processing steps; color space transformation, pixel-level line sensing, block-level line sensing, and robot navigation control. This technique effectively uses hue and saturation color values in the line sensing so to be insensitive to the brightness variation. Line finding in block-level makes not only the technique immune from the error of line pixel detection but also the robot control easy. The proposed technique was tested with a real mobile robot and proved its effectiveness.

  • The purpose of the study is to make experimental whether three-dimensional body (especially face) has illusion based on theoretical background of form dimensions and color bright among precedent multi-form illusion, using the function of computer simulation. To investigate illusion that factors of clothing design(line, color, material) effect face, as the following is tried to solve giving change to neckline, collar, scarf which is believed to influence near face. How to make experiment as follows watching in order 13 scenes of a pair of with basic design and experiment design. Then the data were subjected to analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test. The result of this studying as follows, 1. Face looks larger in complex neckline than simple neckline. The larger collar is the larger face looks. 2. In white jacket, illusion(the lower luminosity of scarf color gets, the brighter face brightness gets) is shown. In black jacket, also illusion(the higher luminosity of scarf color gets, the darker face brightness gets) is shown. 3. In experiment on hardness and softness of face impression according to the material of collar, collar of knit and fur gives us assimilation illusion bring softer impression of face.

Post-outburst observation of HBC722 in Pelican nebula

  • HBC722 (also known as LkHa 188-G4 and PTF 10qpf; A. Miller et al., 2011) is one of the FU Orionis-like young stellar objects which outbursted in August 2010 (Semkov et al., 2010). We have been monitoring the post-outburst phase of this object since November 2010 with Korean Astronomy and Space Science Institute Near Infrared Camera System (KASINICS), at Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory (BOAO). Four filters, J, H, Ks, and H2 band, were used for this observation. We did aperture photometry to find photometric variation. The light curve shows a long period brightness change. After decrease of the brightness, which was reported at the KAS 2011 fall meeting, HBC722 brightens up slowly now. However we cannot confirm any short period variations, previously reported by Green et al (2013), due to large scatters in the obtained light curve.
