  • As CMOS technologies have been rapidly developed, bridging faults have been relatively increased. IDDQ testing is a current testing methodology which can enhance reliability of the circuit since it efficiently detects bridging faults that are difficult to detect by functional testing. In this paper we consider internal bridging faults occurred in each gate of logic circuits under test and finally develop a fault simulator for IDDQ testing to detect assumed bridging faults.

  • Fracture mechanics does work for concrete, provided that one used a proper, nonlinear form of fracture mechanics in which a finite nonlinear zone at fracture front is being considered. The fracture process zone is a region ahead of a traction-free crack, in which two major mechanisms, microcracking and bridging, play important rules. The toughness due to bridging is dominant compared to the toughness induced by the microcracking, so that the bridging is the dominant mechanism governing the fracture process of concrete. In this paper the bridging zone, which is a part of extended macrocrck with stresses transmitted by aggregates in concrete, is modelled by a Dugdale-Barenblatt type model with lenear tension-softening curve for the analyses of crack growth in concrete Finite element technique is shown for inplementation of the model.

  • When a feedback bridging fault is activated, oscillation may be generated in output signal lines. If the oscillation is generated, the fault may not be detected by logic testing. Thus, in the past we proposed a current sensor to detect feedback bridging faults by supply current testing. The sensor circuit design requires the maximum frequency of oscillation which is generated when feedback bridging fault is excited as a specification. In this paper, an estimation method of the oscillation frequency is proposed. Also, it is shown by some experiments that the frequency obtained by the method can be used for the sensor design.

  • Clinical cases of pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) have been reported during the recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO) therapy for the anemia patients. PRCA is a rare hematological disorder leading to a severe anemia due to an almost complete stop of red blood cell production. Antibody (Ab)-associated PRCA is caused by the EPO-neutralizing Abs that eliminate the biological activity of EPO. In order to detect anti-EPO Abs in human sera, we performed conventional ELISA, directly coated bridging ELISA, and streptavidin coated bridging ELISA, and compared their sensitivity and specificity. Some false positive results were obtained in the conventional ELISA. One positive sample was detected successfully by streptavidin coated bridging ELISA, which was not appeared in the directly coated bridging ELISA. In conclusion, streptavidin coated bridging ELISA was substantially sensitive and specific format and one out of sixty-eight serum samples was proved to be anti-EPO positive.

  • Semiempirical MNDO calculations are employed to study relation properties on bridging OH group with Al-O(P-O) bond length and Al-O-P bond angle of structural characteristics using birdging $(OH)_3AlOP(OH)_3$ and $(OH)_3AlOHP(OH)_3^+$ model culster. We know that the O-H bond dissociation energy of bridging OH group is increased with increasing Al-O(P-O) bond length and decreasing Al-O-P bond angle. The bridging OH group is formed into enlarged Al-O(P-O) bond length and shortened Al-O-P bond angle in bridging oxygen atom by a hydrogen migration. The negative net charge of bridging oxygen atom is increased with longer Al-O-P bond angle, while the positive net charge is decreased with longer Al-O-P bond angle.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of supporting surface instability to trunk and lower extremity muscle activities during bridging exercise combined with core-stabilization exercise. Thirty young healthy adults (15 males and 15 females) voluntarily participated in this study. Each subject was asked to perform bridging exercise combined with core-stabilization exercise on three different supporting surfaces (stable ground surface, the wooden balancing board, and the air cushion). The muscle activities were measured using surface electromyography (EMG) during performing exercise. To test statistical significance, one-way ANOVA with repeated measures was used with the significance level of .05. The findings of this study are summarized as follows. (1) There were significant differences in muscle activities on internal oblique, external oblique, gluteus medius, semitendinosus, biceps femoris, medial gastrocnemius and lateral gastrocnemius during exercise (p<.05). (2) The biceps femoris and lateral gastrocnemius showed significantly higher muscle activity on the wooden balancing board rather than on the ground, and semitendinosus, biceps femoris, medial gastrocnemius and lateral gastrocnemius showed significantly higher muscle activity on the air cushion rather than on the ground (p<.05). Therefore, it is concluded that muscle activities in the trunk and the lower limbs during bridging exercise combined with core-stabilization exercise was affected with instability of supporting surface. Further researches are needed to investigate the long term effect of bridging exercise on muscle activity with patient group.
