The moving load causes the occurrence of vibrations in civil engineering structures such as bridges, railway lines, bridge cranes and others. A novel engineering method for separation of the variables in the differential equation of the elastic line of Bernoulli-Euler beam has been developed. The method can be utilized in engineering structures, leading to "a beam under moving load model" with generalized boundary conditions. This method has been implemented for analytical study of the dynamic response of the metal structure of a single girder bridge crane due to the telpher movement along the bridge girder. The modeled system includes: a crane bridge girder; a telpher, moving with a constant horizontal velocity; a load, elastically fixed to the telpher. The forced vibrations with their own frequencies and with a forced frequency, due to the telpher movement, have been analyzed. The loading resulting from the telpher uniform movement along the bridge girder is cyclical, which is a prerequisite for nucleation and propagation of fatigue cracks. The concept of "dynamic coefficient" has been introduced, which is defined as a ratio of the dynamic deflection of the bridge girder due to forced vibrations, to the static one. This ratio has been compared with the known from the literature empirical dynamic coefficient, which is due to the telpher track unevenness. The introduced dynamic coefficient shows larger values and has to be taken into account for engineering calculations of the bridge crane metal structure. In order to verify the degree of approximation, the obtained results have been compared with FEM outcomes. An additional comparison has been made with the exact solution, proposed by Timoshenko, for the case of simply supported beam subjected to a moving force. The comparisons show a good agreement.
According to documentary records Woljeong-gyo(stone bridge) is built in 760(Silla the 35th King Gyeongdeok 19) and used as original function until 1280(Goryeo the 25th King Chungryeol 6) as Chunyang-gyo. But in those days "Donggyeongjapgi" was published in 1669(Joseon Hyeonjong 10) we assume that it was lost its original function. There are four pier in the type of a ship with the same distance in the middle of river. We can see it is the site of bridge as parts of stonework of bridge are remained. In 1975 the abutments and piers are surveyed and in 1984 stone investigation twice and excavation three times which were to plan restoration were done. Now the restoration of abutments both ends are worked. For restoration of Woljeong-gyo studied documentary records and excavation recoeds were collected and examined. It helped to see the bridge in southern China twice to restore the bridge. Unearthed articles such as yeonham(a kind of member to support roof tiles) and giwa(roof tile) gave decisive clues to assume upper structure of the bridge and from Chinese bridges are helped to type of the bridge. It is certain Woljeong-gyo was ranggyo which means that upper structure was made with wooden members and the stone piers shaped of a ship below and near the abutments both ends another buildings were. Youngjocheok(the architectural measure) of this bridge is similar to gokcheok(the metal measure, 301.84mm) used now that the length of piers is 46choek(尺), the width of that is 9choek(尺), the length between two piers is 42choek(尺), the length between abutment and pier is 38choek(尺). Also we can see that entirely the length of the bridge is 210choek(尺), width is 40choek(尺).
Two-girder bridge is composed of primary members such as deck slab and main girder, and secondary member such as cross beam, vertical and horizontal stiffeners etc,. Two-girder bridge is prescribed as a non-redundant load path structure in the ASSHTO and the Korean Highway Bridge Design Code. Such structure is that if one girder is damaged, problems of function and safety of the bridge are caused. From the reasons, fatigue cracks in two-girder bridge can affect safety of the bridge seriously. Therefore, in this paper, fatigue evaluation was performed at connection parts of vertical stiffener and web with radius of curvature of scallop of vertical stiffener and thickness of web as variables. Such joint is known as a detail which has high possibility of fatigue crack in the bridge. Based upon the analytical results, preferable joint detail in terms of fatigue and simple empirical formula for fatigue evaluation of the detail were suggested.

Globally road transport networks are subjected to continuous levels of stress from increasing loading and environmental effects. As the most popular mean of transport in the UK the condition of this civil infrastructure is a key indicator of economic growth and productivity. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) systems can provide a valuable insight to the true condition of our aging infrastructure. In particular, monitoring of the displacement of a bridge structure under live loading can provide an accurate descriptor of bridge condition. In the past B-WIM systems have been used to collect traffic data and hence provide an indicator of bridge condition, however the use of such systems can be restricted by bridge type, assess issues and cost limitations. This research provides a non-contact low cost AI based solution for vehicle classification and associated bridge displacement using computer vision methods. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been adapted to develop the QUBYOLO vehicle classification method from recorded traffic images. This vehicle classification was then accurately related to the corresponding bridge response obtained under live loading using non-contact methods. The successful identification of multiple vehicle types during field testing has shown that QUBYOLO is suitable for the fine-grained vehicle classification required to identify applied load to a bridge structure. The process of displacement analysis and vehicle classification for the purposes of load identification which was used in this research adds to the body of knowledge on the monitoring of existing bridge structures, particularly long span bridges, and establishes the significant potential of computer vision and Deep Learning to provide dependable results on the real response of our infrastructure to existing and potential increased loading.
Health monitoring of civil infrastructures, in particular, old bridges that are still in service, has become more than necessary, given the risk that a possible degradation or failure of these infrastructures can induce on the safety of users in addition to the resulting commercial and economic impact. Bridge integrity assessment has attracted significant research efforts over the past forty years with the aim of developing new damage identification methods applicable to real structures. The bridge of Ouled Mimoun (Tlemcen, Algeria) is one of the oldest railway structure in the country. It was built in 1889. This bridge, which is too low with respect to the level of the road, has suffered multiple shocks from various machines that caused considerable damage to its central part. The present work aims to analyze the stability of this bridge by identifying damages and evaluating the damage rate in different parts of the structure on the basis of a finite element model. The applied method is based on an inverse analysis of the normal stress responses that were calculated from the corresponding recorded strains, during the passage of a real train, by means of a set of strain gauges placed on certain elements of the bridge. The results obtained from the inverse analysis made it possible to successfully locate areas that were really damaged and to estimate the damage rate. These results were also used to detect an excessive rigidity in certain elements due to the presence of plates, which were neglected in the numerical reference model. In the case of the continuous bridge monitoring, this developed method will be a very powerful tool as a smart health monitoring system, allowing engineers to take in time decisions in the event of bridge damage.
To properly extract the strain components under varying operational conditions is very important in bridge health monitoring. The abnormal sensor readings can be correctly identified and the expected operational performance of the bridge can be better understood if each strain components can be accurately quantified. In this study, strain components under varying load conditions, i.e., temperature variation and live-load variation are evaluated based on field strain measurements collected from a real concrete box-girder bridge. Temperature-induced strain is mainly regarded as the trend variation along with the ambient temperature, thus a smoothing technique based on the wavelet packet decomposition method is proposed to estimate the temperature-induced strain. However, how to effectively extract the vehicle-induced strain is always troublesome because conventional threshold setting-based methods cease to function: if the threshold is set too large, the minor response will be ignored, and if too small, noise will be introduced. Therefore, an autoencoder framework is proposed to evaluate the vehicle-induced strain. After the elimination of temperature and vehicle-induced strain, the left of which, defined as the model error, is used to assess the operational performance of the bridge. As empirical techniques fail to detect the degraded state of the structure, a clustering technique based on Gaussian Mixture Model is employed to identify the damage occurrence and the validity is verified in a simulation study.

The objective of this research is to evaluate of global and local damage for steel-concrete composite structures under highway bridge exposed to fire loading. To enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the numerical analysis, the proposed transient nonlinear thermal structure interaction(TSI) parallel fire analysis method is implemented in ANSYS. To validate the TSI parallel fire analysis method, a comparison is made with the standard fire test results. The proposed TSI parallel fire analysis method is applied to fire damage analysis and performance evaluation for Buchen highway bridge. The result of analysis, temperature of low flange and web are exceed the critical temperature. The deflection and deformation state show good agreement with the fire accident of buchen highway bridge.
Purpose: The primery objecting of this paper is to explore the seismics fragility of curved bridge based on the change of girder section. Method: The cross section of the bridge structure was constructed with I, T, and Box shapes and then, in order to perform the seismic fragility 24 seismic ground motions were used, including Gyeongju Pohang Earthquake. Result: Fist, T-Shape of the bridge strucrue was much fragility in terms of the stress on girder section, in comparison to the other shapes. The seismic fragilies of the structures with respect to displacement(drift ratio), however, were shown simialr. Conclusion: In other to wvaluation the seismic fragility of curved structure using different girder shapes, analytical models of the structure were constructed and then, the probability failure of box-shape girder was shown lower probability. In further, Parametric studies of curved structures must be conducted.
Depending on the researcher, the effect of prestressing on the natural frequency of a PSC (prestressed concrete) structure appear to have been interpreted differently. Most laboratory tests on PSC beams available showed that the natural frequency is increased appreciably by prestressing. On the other hand, some other references based on field experience argued that the dynamic response of a PSC structure does not change regardless of the prestressing applied. Therefore, the deduced conclusions are inconsistent. Because an experiment with and without prestressing is a difficult task on a full size PSC bridge, the change in natural frequency of a PSC bridge due to prestressing may not be examined through field measurements. The study examined analytically the effects of prestressing on the natural frequency of PSC bridges. A finite element program for an undamped dynamic motion of a beam-tendon system was developed with additional geometric stiffness. The analytical results confirm that a key parameter in changing the natural frequency due to prestressing is the relative ratio of prestressing to the total weight of the structure rather than the prestressing itself.

This paper aims to propose a method that helps maintenance engineers to evaluate the damage states of bridge structure systems by using a Fuzzy Fault Tree Analysis. It may be stated that Fuzzy Fault Tree Analysis may be very useful for the systematic and rational fuzzy reliability assessment for real bridge structure systems problems because the approach is able to effectively deal with all the related bridge structural element damages in terms of the linguistic variables that incorporate systematically experts experiences and subjective judgement. This paper considers these uncertainties by providing a fuzzy reliability-based framework and shows that the identification of the optimum maintenance scenario is a straightforward process. This is achieved by using a computer program for LIFETIME. This program can consider the effects of various types of actions on the fuzzy reliability index profile of a deteriorating structures. Only the effect of maintenance interventions is considered in this study. However. any environmental or mechanical action affecting the fuzzy reliability index profile can be considered in LIFETIME. Numerical examples of deteriorating bridges are presented to illustrate the capability of the proposed approach. Further development and implementation of this approach are recommended for future research.
